They arrived promptly at the agreed upon time of 8am. They bought two moving trucks to ensure everything was moved over in one trip. They were respectful of our home and kept things clean. We recently moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I'm sharing our experience of this long distance move. There were good things - hard working team members, flexibility in changing from move-only to partial packing plus moving, for instance. However certain things stood out as areas of improvement. Although we paid for packing & moving, the prep and the execution of packing was lacking. They ended up destroying one Japanese paper lamp and scratching a pretty expensive tabletop lamp. The team did not prepare enough protective material for the clothes & some of our clothing were just put in boxes rather than being put in wardrobe boxes. Nor did they take care of small pieces of furniture that needed to be wrapped up carefully. Most chairs and hardware were just put into the truck without any protection. So the chairs now have scratches in many places. If we had not packed the 2 desktop computers & other fragile items ourselves, those would have been damaged along the way given how other pieces were put on the truck without any protection. One other thing to call out is, Mario did a bait and switch by assigning only 2 crew for the unloading in Los Angeles, although the agreement was to have 3 person crew throughout. So the unloading team was understaffed and had to work extra hard. After the move, Mario did not provide me with a receipt, despite about 4-5 pings from me. So I do not recommend this mover. read more

Mario and his team were awesome. They arrived on time and did a great job of protecting our furniture. I under estimated the amount of labor needed and the travel distance between the unit and the moving truck so it took longer than expected for the move out. We were getting close to our move in cutoff time and there was a chance we wouldn't be able to load everything into the new place. However, I was able to call Mario and arrange to have a third guy join for 1.5 hours to make sure we made the cut off. Overall great experience and made our move in a lot easier. Easily the best move I've ever had. My wife and I burst into applause before it was over (yes, really) and couldn't stop talking about how great it was as we unpacked later that day. First, the setup. Mario is extremely communicative. He asked thoughtful questions over the phone when I asked for a quote; explained pricing clearly; and was understanding and quick to respond when I needed to reschedule. He also texted unsolicited the day before the move to confirm when the movers would arrive. They arrived ~10m early and waited patiently outside. The movers were careful but speedy. My wife and I had pre-packed a little bit and left a few items behind, but the 4 movers packed and carried down a big staircase the bulk of a ~1275ft apartment in under 4 hours -- including cautiously wrapping individual plates/glasses/etc. as well as the furniture. As we unboxed, my wife and I repeatedly remarked to one another about how carefully the kitchen in particular had been packed. As far as I can tell, literally nothing broke during the move -- including delicate items like ornaments from the 1980s and dried flower bulbs. The highlight of the unload involved our couch. The movers carefully measured; took a door off a wall; and hoisted the heavy couch up a staircase with a bend and (in parts) low clearance, rotating as they went so the couch would fit -- which it barely did. My wife and I had been seriously concerned that the couch wouldn't make it; the spontaneous applause came out when the couch finally cleared the staircase. The movers themselves were really nice and hard working. We've had movers in the past who seemed to dawdle; these guys were basically non-stop. They even declined our offer of lunch and just powered through. All told, the move took 6.5 hours, probably about ~15/20m of which was a drive. The packing materials and fuel charge were both flat rate. The pricing was exactly what Mario quoted me ($X/hour + materials + fuel). No hidden charges.
