Wow I never thought this day would come but honestly I'm fed up. I have been a loyal customer at this salon for years now and have even brought them more customers but yesterday was my last day with them. I usually get a gel x mani and pedi but my birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and wanted to save but also update my nails since they were the same for the past couple weeks. I asked for just a regular mani and pedi and ultimately changed my mind about putting color on my finger nails because I decided I want give my natural nails a break. When I asked for regular polish for my pedi the lady just looked at me confused, probably bc I always get gel x, and then she went on with how gel x is better and I can just get a clear coat and do a color change. I understand why they push gel x, they can charge more bc it last longer etc but sometimes people just want regular polish that isn't going to last for a long time. I've seen them do that some spiel with other customers and some customers will cave in and agree to try gel x but some are firm and stick with the regular polish. My service I had done on my finger nails was just a removal of the gel x nails I had and that was it, I made it very clear. I didn't receive any manicure, just a removal. When I asked how much it costs for that, the lady tells me $15. I was like I thought it's just $10? That's the average price at most salons. She then tells me that the reason they charge $5 more is because I am not getting gel x. That makes NO sense at all. If I was getting a new set of gel x I guess it would be $10? Wtf that makes no sense. I was in a rush and honestly didn't feel like fighting with them so I left and didn't question it after but then I was thinking, wait, they literally charged me more to do less work. Like I said, I have been nothing but loyal to this place for years and have been a consistent customer. I come in at least once a month and majority of the time it's twice a month. I can't believe they would scam me like that. I thought we were on good terms. I brought my mom and was paying for her and had to leave so I made sure to leave the tip for everyone that assisted us but when I was with my mom trying to figure out who each tip would go to, the lady (Hanna) that did my gel x removal on my finger nails was like "$5 for her mani and $5 for her pedi" and pointed to the girls as if she was telling me where to give the money to. I got pissed and just left because I didn't want any problems, but basically she was keeping the $5 I handed to her to give to Macy when all she did was remove my nails, I handed her $2 and $5 and said I want the $5 for Macy and $2 for you but of course she wasn't thinking she was just paying attention to my wallet. I never thought they would act like that with me and never thought I would be leaving them but I can't accept that behavior or the ridiculous pricing. $15 for removal of gel x nails because I'm not getting a new set is such a lie I ended up paying $56 for my gel x removal and a regular polish pedicure read more

She has great attention to detail and always gets everything right. you know how sometimes with gel x, your nail looks like it is sitting at a 45 degree angle? Love this nail salon, the owner Jenny is always so welcoming. My preference is Gel-x and I recommend Hailey. She has perfected her craft and she takes her time to ensure every detail is flawless. This salon is super clean, spacious, and the technicians also use quality products. The pedicures are incredibly relaxing, and I don't mind paying the extra amount for gel polish due to the quality of the products used. I am a licensed technician but I don't always have time to do my own nails. So getting serviced here is something I enjoy doing as apart of my self care routine. I also would like to add that this salon is one of very hygienic salons I have been to in the area, they clearly sanitize their tools after each use and they use brand new nail files and buffers as they should. If i could rate this place a 0 i would. Off the bat, everything seems fine. I'm waiting and after 15 minutes i can get my nails done. The wait time is average espc since they were booked. I play a sport, so i can't get acrylic nor gel x. So i tell the lady, Lynn, that i just want regular polish and gel. She's rushing through my nails and honestly hurting my cuticles a lot. As i'm typing this they're bleeding. My mom is getting a pedicure and i honestly decide to get one last minute. Brought my daughter in to get her nails done for her birthday. Before they started I showed them a design and asked if it was doable on her small nails, they said it was fine. Literally the only design is just a smiley face. One of the ladies scoffed and made me feel stupid for even trying to get a design on my daughter's nail. Prior to coming to Lux Nail Bar, I got my nails done at another nail salon that did not give me what I wanted. Before, I had nails that were trimmed way shorter than I asked, my cuticles were not cleaned up, and I got the wrong color dip powder on my nails that I did not ask for (neon blue) and tried covering it up with another gel color (metallic silver). So far this place has delivered just what I'm looking for. Not too pushy with their service however have recommendations on what one should do base on the health of your nails. I decided to come here to check the quality of service and see if this was a place I wouldn't mind becoming a regular to for pedicures. However the reason I rated this a 2 star is for their payment services. The signs states cash payments are appreciated assuming that it is optional and that if a customer wants to then the salon has an atm that can be utilized. My sister aren't to go pay and my sister provided her with her card to pay. However the lady told her no please use the atm. My sister wanted to use the card and the lady still insisted to use the atm and even pointed at the machine. At this point I realized the nail lady is not providing customers the option to pay by card but strongly insisting for using the ATM. The door states they accept card. I don't want to become a regular to a place that makes thier customers feel pushed or forced to choose when a business is stating that they provide payment options. For the Quality of service,here isn't worth becoming a regular here. (My opinion) especially when you have nice soft spoken people who just want a pedicure and pay the way they want to. read more
