Bought a car from here in Aug 2019. It has taken me this long to cool down from the experience. Let me explain... We researched the model car we had our eye on, including known issues for the year and KBB value. The one on this lot was priced high, but we rationalized that it was due to low miles for the year. Just in case, though, we took it to the Toyota dealer to have it inspected. As we were literally pulling away from the lot after having just purchased it, the check engine light came on. Not a great feeling when you just dropped $11k for a 13 year old vehicle. In retrospect, the light was probably in during the test drive too, but I didn't notice that because I was focused on so many other things. You sort of just assume warning lights won't be flashing when you're buying a car. Once home, had the car checked out by our trusted mechanic only to discover that the steering column was broken (!). We had them fix it to the tune of $800. I returned to M&J and explained the situation and got the "too bad so sad" response from them. They refused to even split the cost with me and further accused me of breaking it and that the car was perfect when they had it. First of all, how does one break a steering column driving on flat roads within a mile radius of the lot? I have never in my life broken the steering column in a car. I'm not even sure what stress the car (which is equipped with 4WD btw) would need to go through to make that happen. Second, to the point that we had the car independently inspected, apparently they don't include checking random things that usually don't randomly break in their 54 point inspections. They also do not check for warning lights apparently. All of this could have been right by the dealership to split the cost with me, which they refused to do. It left me feeling ripped off. Slimy business owners need to be called out so thank god for Yelp. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this business, unless you are a mechanic and know what you're buying into. Otherwise you may get left holding the bag for some expensive repairs like I was. read more

These people are very easy to do business with. Nick, Moody, and Jose are all the type of gentlemen you find when the sun is shining on ya. The car I'd initially inquired about by email was sold before I got a chance to get up there, and Nick let me know. I told him what I was looking for, and he told me about a recent acquisition. I found a car on Carguru's at M & J that I was very interested in. It was low milage and several thousand dollars below list. I called and made and appointment. Mike was so friendly and answered all my questions. I drove a little over an hour from Palm Coast. Mike greeted us and had the keys in his hand for us to look at the car. It was exactly as stated and as pictured online. The process of financing was so easy and quick. I got in for less than what I wanted for a monthly payment and with a vehicle I was so excited to get. Jessica, who did all of the paperwork, was so friendly and easy to deal with! I honestly don't think I've ever had a buying experience go so easy and smoothly as this was was! These guys do a lot of cash sales of older vehicles. They're pretty upfront about what you are and aren't getting. You're getting a fairly priced car with disclosures. You aren't getting a new car so temper your expectations and these guys are a no nonsense experience. read more

I have used this dealership periodically, since purchasing my Prius in 2008. I was very disappointed that the promises they made to me in terms of suttle service was never kept. No one was responsive enough to tell the truth. Worse of all, my service person, Ray, indicated he was trying to call me although to follow up, but I received no follow up calls to m6 voice. Never indicated why no one picked me up or at least call me for an update. The lack of service wasn't the most horrible matter, but the lack of follow-up and honesty in at least telling me no one was going to pick me up. Then, there it was - an old MB E500 - so I went on line to check out the details and came and saw Nick for a test drive. Easiest transaction. I've experienced many dealerships in my life time and this one by far was very honest. made me feel like i could trust there word and also made me feel very comfortable. Purchased 3rd car from them today. Bought collage son a car here and had another great experience with our salesman Nick and the owner. They let me take the car to my mechanic down the street and my mechanic said it was a super clean car but had one small water pump leak. Went back to Nick and he called the owner and the owner said they would honor the agreed price and would fix the water pump with a brand new one at their cost. Wow, what small used car dealership does that. Thanks again M&J for another great experience. I will be back when the time comes for another vehicle. read more

Avoid. I was looking at a 2003 Pathfinder they have overpriced by $3,000 by KBB standards. I negotiated with Moodie who quoted me X amount. I was satisfied. I filled out the finance application they were going to run the following day. I specifically REQUESTED our agreed upon price on paper. Moodie said no need to worry, he will take care of me, he is the owner. I trusted him and took his word. I left and was going to return the next day. I received a call from Nick saying Moodie quoted me too low of a price and they needed more. After arguing with both Nick and Moodie, I ended up not buying their overpriced vehicle. I said I am active on Yelp and will write an honest review of my experience. They said they don't take too kindly to threats and to watch out because they have my information. Real professional right? Men stand by their word. These guys are jokes, liars, and do not know the value of customer service or how to generate repeat business. I drove by this place and saw a 2002 Toyota 4Runner for 9995, I called to find out it had 88k miles. I was interested so I looked on Yelp and saw they had a website and checked the website. On the website it was listed as 11,888. So I went by this morning and asked to look at it. It was nice but nothing spectacular. When I spoke to the guy who worked there he told me that they took the sticker price off and that it was 11,888. When I asked what the blue book was he said low 6k and high 8k. I had blue booked it myself and knew it wasn't anywhere what they were asking. Also all the other cars had blue book stickers on them, but the 4Runner did not. Shady shady shady!!!!! read more

So far, buying a used car was easy. The shop stayed open past their business hours while my husband and I test drove the car, they were able to get a very low car loan, and they were very knowledgable with the cars by way of personal experience. My second interaction was also a five star review in that I went back to them when I broke the mirror off my BMW. They are wholesale dealers and the Murrow was also quickly ordered and ready for me even when J was scheduled off! The only thing is that my car started to break down before a year of getting it. read more

My families in the car business. Rough time of the year to be looking for cars through the auctions, decided to check out other dealers in the sac/Bay Area and cane across a 2012 BMW 535i with only 63,000 miles at M&J. Drove all the way to Napa from sac and tried to be as cynical as possible considering the price was way better than anything I'd seen to that point. Car was as clean as could be, and so was every other car on the lot. Nick tossed me the keys and didn't push one bit, continued his work and let me check it out for myself with no pressure. This is the worst dealership and people I have EVER dealt with. I buy a lot of cars and there we're a few things that a friend of mine wanted to ask that we're very simple questions. You don't plunk down a great amount of money without questions. That is stupidity! However, it brought the dealership and the salesman's integrity on the line. They showed their true colors by yelling at us and telling us to get out and that they didn't want to sell the car to my friend. Simple questions that were met with hostility and dishonesty. Update: 3/3015 Unfortunately, I must revise my review to recognize that Nick is just another guy, neither better nor worse than any other. A major failed component was discovered 500 miles after purchase, and Nick offered me his sympathy and the name of someone that would be happy to have the work. PLEASE READ !!! If I could give this company a negative star, I would. I've heard and experienced so many bad things working with this place. The day after I took my car home, it randomly died and the battery and check engine light came on. This problem happened multiple times even while driving and the power steering turns off which is a huge danger especially where I live. I called nick and he said he works with a mechanic who would fix it for me and they would cover the costs. So I bring in the car (before 30 days of purchase we're up) and when I called him to see if it was ready, he said it wasn't and that there was something wrong with the fuel pump. Me having no prior knowledge about cars, trusted him and let them have my car longer to fix it. The next day I called the mechanic and asked them if they fixed it but they said they drove it around and nothing happened, therefore they were unable to get the codes off it. I asked them why nick mentioned something about the fuel pump but they convieniently had no idea what I was talking about. So I picked my car up and guess what !!! It happens again.. hmmm ... so I took it to a mechanic next to where I live and had them pull the codes and guess what!! 2 codes for the fuel pump and one for the oxygen sensor. Keep in mind there is no way I could've made up the thing about nick mentioning the fuel pump because I know nothing about cars. My boyfriend was even there when I talked to him. My mechanic told me that they probably deleted the codes and played it off like nothing was wrong. So I reached out to nick and told him I had the codes for them to fix it and he said they wouldn't do it because it was past 30 days now. Convenient right? Not to mention I did some research about Volkswagens and they had a recall on their airbags because they would shoot out metal when they went off and they would be easily triggered. So I asked nick before purchasing if there were any previous recalls or problems involving the airbag and he said "there are no current ACTIVE recalls". I get the car and guess what ?? The airbags are turned off. I'm scared to even turn them on because they're probably defective and dangerous along with the rest of the vehicle. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! taking advantage of a teenager buying her first car and not giving a care in the world if she even makes it safely to her destinations. DISGUSTING! read more

Literally minutes after I posted this I get a call back letting me know to take the car back they would give me a full detail and they would service the car. Thanks Nick...I'll add 2 more stars for now. ....... Thumbs down for Nick. Terrible people skills..AFTER DEAL IS MADE. Spent alot of money on a BMW. He told me the car had been serviced and 2 days later the light comes on saying SERVICE OVER DUE! When I call to confirm the date the car was serviced he says I NEVER SAID THAT. I SAID WE CHANGED THE OIL BUT THAT'S IT. Then proceeds to be super rude, talking to down to me. I ask for the manager, or whomever he calls to get authorization for car deals and he says he only calls people back who have appointments. Wow. Ok So can I make an appointment? All I got was... I'll tell him when I see him. Will I get a call back? Ever? Second thing, I asked that they detail the car because the car was extremely sticky inside. Nick told me the answer, after all, was NO because and I quote.."I don't like your tone of voice so I will not have your car detailed" wow. I have to say I am very pleased with this place. From the first moment I walked onto their lot I was happy to not have a salesman up my a$$. When I was ready to see a car I walked into office and asked my questions. No pressure what's so ever. I felt their pricing was very fair, actually lower then all other places I had looked at. I was not buying a brand new car, and that can be scary not knowing if what you see is what you get. Well, I love my car and I would highly recommend M & J Auto Sales. Actually would say MINUS 5 STARS! I went into the lot on Tuesday afternoon. Owner was cold. I wanted to "test drive a few of his cars" to see which one I would actually like to buy. Cash deal with no financing. I "tested" two cars...neither of which I was overjoyed about. Returned and asked to drive another car. Was not even acknowledged. He was busy on his computer. Refused to let me "test" any more cars as they are not a "test drive car lot". I signed the insurance papers he had, but his excuse was that there insurance doesn't cover too many test drives. He was rude and obnoxious. Treated me awful. I am 60 years old and don't go buy something like a car without doing comparison shopping for the best deal. This is not a car lot that I would return to or tell anyone else to go to. I called other lots and no one else treats customers like this. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

I called here to inquire about a car. I plan on buying a car this week. I told them I had a trade in and they told me I could only come in on Sundays between 12 and 4. I told them I had to work then and that was impossible. The salesman told me well, you have to make time if you want to buy a car, and then had nothing else to say. This is unbelievable! If you see my review, please read it all the way before you heading to the M & J Auto Sales. This place is trash, absolutely garbage dealership. I got my VW from them and it broke it down on the highway second day I had it, I spend $1000+ fixing it, not just that, the AC broke too as well as the headlight. I didn't notice that before getting the car and that's my fault, but experience could have been much better if M & J Auto will help me take care my expense on those fixes. I made more than 10 calls to talk to manager and Nick Wilson that is the sells person told me "he is here 30 minutes ago and I will let him know you called". Guess what, never got any calls back from them. They will lie to you that car they have all have done smog and they wish those cars every other day, that's all lie, my engine oil was pure black color and its dusty interior when I first got it. Right now, I'm just so miserable with this car, because I'm afraid that it will break down again on the highway. Just walk outta there once you see this review please, you guys will hate your life if you got the car from them. read more
