Honestly if I could give this place 6 stars I would. Our waitress was amazing (until she left the second guy seemed like he hated his life). Our food came out as it was done vs when everyone's was done which was nice because NOTHING was cold and it was all super yummy and flavorful. I was happy because sometimes when you have to pay more money for food that looks good its not always good but the quality and flavors were worth the price. The drinks were the perfect mix and were sweet and strong enough. As well as being aesthetically pleasing it tasted great. The music and atmosphere was IMMACULATE. The DJ knew exactly how to do his job he had throwbacks mixed with current music and it was just a whole vibe. I would absolutely go back I specifically want to go back for brunch and see how that is. Please be aware that we have heard the wait times are normally pretty long but we went and had no wait and got to sit outside on the rooftop and not under the cover in the dark. M. Bird is upstairs in the Colonial Heights amateur works building. There are several signs when you walk in about not wearing hoodies or sweatpants but plenty of people were wearing both so the rules are pretty loose. I went during lunchtime and they told me there was a wait. Walking around I saw several tables empty but marked reserved. After waiting about 30 minutes for a tables I was sat at one of the reserved tables that had been free the whole time. With how poorly organized the seating was the drinks and food were fast and pretty delicious. The Afterthot and Billy Ocean water were the best drinks. With beautiful colors they were both very flavorful, fresh, and boozy. The truffle fries were crispy and a good bite. Great views on the 2nd floor, great cocktails, but the seating and wait time was silly. read more

What a strange place. I think if you're looking for a casual rooftop literally any other option in Tampa would be better suited for your needs. The dj was playing house music the whole time and the crowd was odd. Some of the patrons were aggressive but the security handled the situation. The drinks were ok but the majority of the area is blocked off for VIP. I've heard so many negative things about the place but went in with an open mind and should have listened to what I heard. Its supposedly a different atmosphere during the day but from my experience I do not recommend M Bird at night. read more

No competition, this is the best rooftop bar in all of Tampa Bay area! Located in Armature Works, this bar attracts friend groups, business happy hours, and date nights. The views during the day are just as stunning as the views during the night - you can really visit anytime you want! The bartenders are all super friendly and love their rob. How could they not? They get to socialize with all of Tampa while gazing at the beautiful river and downtown. I have probably tried just about every cocktail on their menu, and I recommend them all. They have a food menu as well for when your drunk munchies kick in. Overall, very cute spot that is a must see in Tampa! read more

I usually stay away from M. Bird because their bartenders have attitude when l've went (3-4) other times, but i wanted to show my friend the place because I wanted to dande to some house. so l went with my friend and i was squeezing through a crowd and a girl was yelling at everyone walking by "don't touch my man" and i told her that i was just trying to get by. she threatened to fight me and said that she was friends with security and that i had two seconds to walk away. Then the man told me "she'll beat your ass walk away" I turned around and kept dancing. her boyfriend then continued to dance flicking his hands through my hair and pushing me out of the way. i ignored it. then i was approached by security and was told to leave. They grabbed me and my friend. I asked if they checked security footage and they said yes, and that there were complaints about me by the di, the bathroom attendant, owner and management. and was escorted out. I doubt they checked footage. and kicked me out, instead of the girl actually threatening to fight people. They also tried to grab people that we were talking to, but didn't arrive with , that weren't even anywhere near me, but by my friend that i'd brought. Neither of us, or any one that or any one that i speak to about this, will be ever coming back, The pictures are blurry but they are the girl, the man, and the security guard that first approached me. i also have video of the security man that escorted us out. read more

I would have given 5 stars had I been waited on sooner at the bar (I was sadly juggled by three different bartenders till one finally commited), but otherwise it was decent and their Goggle Pay worked. Before you enter you need to be properly dressed, nice attire, security checks ID's and they pat the men down. We went during the day and stayed until they played the house music. It was so much fun! Let me tell ya'll the bartender knew how to get us lit. She recommended the house specialty shot, snoop dog (drop it like it's hot) and gave us a free one. On top of that we got cocktails, thank God for water! We already ate, but I was starting to feel good so we ordered hot fried sliders and truffle fries. They were so bomb, I nearly scarfed down the whole plate. My brother laughed at me, and asked me where it all went. So I made him eat some too, since he was the designated driver. Unfortunately our bartender left and we got a new one, but she ended up giving us a free signature shot as well. I have been dying to go to M bird for weeks and I finally went last Saturday. This place was soooo cute! We came in the day, and it was so nice to have a view overlooking the armature works patio, the River, and all the way downtown. Absolutely stunning. It was also nice and shaded, so it wasn't too hot. We sat at the bar and our bartender was so nice and helpful. He was patient and helped me pick a cocktail (they had so many options that all looked so good). I ended up going with their classic margarita, which was a PERFECT margarita. Not too sweet or sour, and the perfect amount of tequila. Can't wait to come back and try more drinks! read more

And my bay breeze, martini style, had to be made twice, they just didn't hear me properly or made what they wanted the first time around... The couches outside you'll sink into... The clientele are kind of your club-types, this is more of a meat market than restaurant/bar and is very loud at night, hard to talk to your peeps. Not my jam. Sasha was the hostess to seat us and she really set the tone for the place. She was engaging and truly cared for our experience. The food is great. Loved how Sasha sat 2 other customers down and then came over to check in on our experience. Can't wait for her to be a server. Love coming to the rooftop bar at Armature Works. Beautiful views of the Hillsborough River and Downtown Tampa! The sun is hot out there on the rooftop if you're not in any shaded areas. It feels like your whole body is in a flaming furnace located in an all black colored house just absorbing every possible ray of the sun. Service was attentive and efficient! Had my ice cold alcoholic beverage in my hands in a matter of seconds or 1 to 2 minutes at the most! Got a shot of Casamigos, which looked like 2, and that went down smoother than water. I give M.Bird 4 stars for a Thursday evening visit. Upon arrival you are greeted by a hostess and gentleman who will check your ID: Must be 21. Next you are greeted by two more hostess' who informed us there is a wait for dinner seating (arrived around 7pm). They take your name and phone number and a text is sent directly to your cell phone. Same service other restaurants use such as Rusty Bellies in Tarpon. After that, we were kindly told that IF WE WERE NOT SEATED BY 8:30pm THERE IS A $150 COVER FEE FOR A TABLE??? HUH??? We asked what does that fee include??? The girl said it's only a credit to sit down at a table. I asked does that include bottle service? She says no. I understand that M.Bird is attempting to transition into a "club vibe" on Thursday evenings. So this is their attempt at notifying their guests upon arrival. We decided to go to the bar until our table was ready. Purchased two drinks and got the text our table was ready. The seating wasn't ideal for food service but since there were soooo many people on the rooftop we obliged and sat for dinner. Next we were greeted by a server, she was kind and sufficient. We ordered two shareable appetizers and paid the tab. I would have to say we are glad we tried out M.Bird rooftop but for the price point the service DOES NOT MATCH, especially if they are going for an upscale Miami comparable "club vibe". read more

The seating options early were confusing- we had no idea where we could sit and it seemed it was mostly standing and like 3 small tables. We had a pregnant friend with us so we were in search of seats and no staff really indicated there was anywhere to sit. We ordered lemon drops and aperol spritz's- shots were good but aperol spritz's were a bit too aperol heavy. Prices were expensive and bathrooms on first floor so you have to fight past the line to get back upstairs. Nice views but seemed too trendy for us. read more

This is a nice aesthetically pleasing rooftop bar. The seating is first come first serve. Unless you can find street parking, parking in the parking lots is $10 per car. I ordered the jerk chicken tacos and they were good. The chicken was marinated in a jerk sauce and had a little kick to it. My friend ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls and she said they were good but very dry. The sauce used for the tacos and the egg rolls is not the same. For drinks we both really enjoyed the Ciao Bello. It was light, refreshing, and not too sweet. My friend also had a mojito but she wasn't a fan of it. She said it was watered down.
