Date: Two months after my M Salon cut. I start wondering if it's time to set my bangs free from the bobby pins and headbands with which I've subjected them. [trots off to the bathroom] Arghhhhhh, put them away, put them away! Hmm, maybe not. I'd scheduled an appointment with Chris at M Salon the day before the big move (new city, new chapter of my life, new awesome hair). I didn't realize things wouldn't go according to plan when I sat down in the chair and told Chris that I wanted blunt and beachy bangs, with no more than 2" off of the main body of my hair--a trim with layers in the back. I felt like nothing could go wrong, because I'd brought a picture. In a horror movie, my hair would be the slutty blonde chick--her good looks would meet a brutal end, leaving her all hacked up and unrecognizable. My bangs were jagged, with a distinct separate layer. The longest section of my hair was indeed only 2" shorter, but most of the body of my hair was 6-7" shorter. It looked like I'd been growing out a mullet. Perhaps Chris recognized how he totally, how do I say this delicately, effed up my hair, for after he was finished, rather than ask me if I liked it or say that it was great or any other typical thing a hairdresser says at the end of a successful cut, he asked, "Is there anything else you want?" Yes, several inches of my hair back. I couldn't get another cut to fix my bangs, because they were too short (hence the having to grow them out), and I wound up hacking off 5" off the bottom of my hair myself, so I'd avoid looking like a rat. I did get a refund on the cut, which would make me bump it up to two stars, but I expected a bit more from the manager (or whoever issued me the refund). I think it's pretty standard in cases of hair ruination that can't be immediately fixed (from what I've heard--I've never had my hair botched to such a crazy extent) for salons to offer free cuts to fix the hair until it's back at the original length. The manager definitely wasn't rude, just to the point, but I expected an apology or expression of sympathy for the ruining of my hair, and some sort of offer to either get it fixed whenever I'm back in Houston or to pay for a cut to get it fixed when it's grown out. On the bright side, I now own a lot more headbands. read more

For me it was horrible experience I couldn't sleep over night after me highlight,I paid 270$$$ for color I even didn't like When I went to my car I was crying and returned back to Kristin to change my hair color coz I couldn't go out with that ugly color.Actually I had auburn hair color and I asked for highlight,honestly she told me it's difficult and I told her I'm not in hurry and I live nearby so if you want to dye my hair with dark color first and I will come back later for highlight,she told me she's able to do that in one session but she was not She kept telling me you need to by patient to be blond and I need to arrange to another appointment and again paying 170$for highlight but this time no need for additional 100$ for hair dye I won't return to this place again never She wasn't honest with me and I paid a lot for something I really hate read more

I finally found a salon and stylist to return to! After years of long layers it was time for a change. I knew going in that I wanted a long bob (lob), and Kristen did an awesome job!!! Moving to a new city is exciting. Finding a stylist you'll love in a new city is terrifying. However, fear not Yelpers. If you are a native Houstonian or a newbie like me you will find sanctuary in M Salon. At first glance M Salon comes of as an uber cool, ultra chic, fairly intimidating place but walk inside and you feel like you're home. Great lighting, huge leaning mirrors, warm tones and a very zen atmosphere will greet you, along with Imagine (not the song, the name of the concierge. She is darling and so sweet I just want to hug her!) I made my appointment with Chris Do, who looks like he's straight out of a rock video. Platinum blond hair, black roots, hip outfit and what a CUTIE (tune out now hubby...) But that doesn't speak to his amazing skills. It just happens to be a bonus. Chris does a great consultation, first asking what I don't like, what I do, etc. When he gets a good idea of my wishes, it's like an image pops into his head and off we go! I've had everything from skater chic (um, Sun In plus Asian hair just makes it orange) to Halle Berry short to Selena (sans the bangs). We settle on a little more layering, and agree to let it grow out a but more. Chris thinks it will be prettier (I think my husband would tip him extra for that suggestion alone. What is it with men and long hair?!). Snip snip snip. He's chatty without being irritating, inquisitive without being creepy and has suggestions on every yummy place in the city. The result? Bouncy, happy healthy hair!!! This man is worth every penny. To top it off, he turns my normally uber polished uber straight hair into gorgeous waves that would look like a fence post if I had done it myself. Genius. Even better? Complimentary bangs trims. Flock to him ladies, he's worth every penny! But please don't overbook him, I need to be back there in 8 weeks :) read more

I had my first appointment with Grace yesterday and she was great! I am a brunette with ash/blonde balayage and I met with her for a toner touch up, haircut, and blow dry. She did such a great job, I was very happy and will be returning. Another thing I enjoyed was that they use bumble and Oribe hair products which felt amazing on my hair. I would highly recommend Grace since she not only did a great job, she is very reasonably priced, and she is a very pleasant and nice person too. read more

I have decided that there are three meanings of "beauty" in the US, which I've based on the three places that I call home. In northeast (New York), beauty depends on your clothes -- fashion sense is more important than how you actually look. In the west (California), beauty is defined by how thin you are -- since you're wearing your swim suit 90% of the year. In the south (Texas), beauty is defined by your hair. Southern girls rock Wrangler jeans and aren't afraid of a little meat on their bones, and they always have the best hair. Unfortunately (due to my upbringing in a less humid climate, or maybe just genetics), I've never been able to make "Texas hair" work for me. No matter how many layers, my hair will go limp during the five minute walk from my air conditioned apartment to my air conditioned car. Chris Do rescued me. He understood exactly what I meant by "not Texas hair," giving me a modern and sexy look... a slightly angled shoulder length bob with longer layers. Before he saved me from my Texas hair fiasco, I told him that I was hoping to grow my hair longer -- but I love this style so much, I actually might give up length for a while! I've also gotten my hair cut by Michael twice. He was amazing, but it's really hard to get into his schedule unless you book a few weeks out, and I'm the kind of girl who doesn't book my hair appointments until the week I need a cut... I'm not sure how they even get away with doing fusion extensions. My hair has NEVER been more damaged. Not to mention I paid over 2 grand for the hair to come from Mari Ari, a beauty supply store, processed hair!! What a rip off. I went to Vintage Park Salon and they were shocked by how bad these extensions were. You can't remove them without damaging your hair and leaving bald spots. If you are looking for extensions do NOT get fusions!! I now have micro bead extensions from vintage park salon and they are much better quality and damage free. read more

I have been coming to this salon since I moved into the area in about 2016. I have had a number of different services here from haircuts, color, highlight, bodywave, blowout, facials and eyebrows all of them have been really well done. In my opinion the service is reasonably priced and of good quality. The salon is always clean and the staff is professional. My first time visiting M was Friday when I had my first visit with my new BFFL Tiffany (superstar stylist), for a consultation. Our first meeting I loved her personality and how she listened to my requests. I needed a new look that would work well curly, straight, and/or in a blow out. My appointment was schedule for Wednesday and I walked into the salon just waiting to see what this lovely person could do. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair. This color is AMAZING! The cut is AMAZING! The texture is AMAZING! For all those naturalistas, I do not have a relaxer and she straightened my hair without much heat!!!! Tiffany thank you so much! I will be flying to Houston to see you. Let me start by saying I adore Maggie. She is a fantastic stylist, and I am so glad that I found her! She and the front desk staff (lovely and attentive) deserve five stars. They are that good, and I have every intention of continuing to use them. The reason for the lacking two stars is the manicure/pedicure staff. Now, the person who did my mani/pedi was sweet as she can be. She is personable and seems to be a really nice person, but if you are used to having these services done by professionals, you are going to be in for quite a shock. I certainly was in for quite an experience, to say the least. First of all, the manicurist admitted she is not very good at polishing, and that she specializes more in facials. While I hope this is true, it was very disconcerting to hear as I was sitting in the chair. She doesn't cut cuticles, which is strange, and she moves really slowly, so if you are in a hurry, you should book elsewhere. Moreover, she cut my big toe on my right foot (claiming I must have had too sensitive of skin- something that has never occurred before in 16 years of getting pedicures), and she accidentally cut my ankle with the pumice stone. The latter became infected while I was on my honeymoon (these services were my pre-wedding mani/pedi), and I almost wound up at the UrgiCare in Tennessee because of how swollen my ankle had become. Not the way you want to spend your time, I can promise you. Finally, I had not intended to share this review until the following occurred. You see, the shellac manicure I paid extra to receive, only last a day. I had the services done two days before my wedding, and I wound up at a salon in New Orleans the day of because six nails peeled off. I am not sure if this was due to faulty polish or the person doing it being inexperienced, but I was not happy to have to pay for two services. Again, hair wise, use Maggie. She is to die for and fantastic. Also, the staff at the front desk are so nice and make you feel remarkably welcome. I just wish the "spa" portion was as good as the salon. I hate finding a new stylist and was determined to continue seeing my CA based hair guy. But as months went by and I didn't make it home for a cut, it became clear I needed to find someone here in Houston. I called M salon and they recommended Denis. I knew I was taking a chance since he had no female yelp reviews, so maybe I only have myself to blame here. The salon smelled very strongly of chemicals. As soon as I walked in my eyes started burning. Based on that alone I would not return. Those chemicals are horrible for your health and they obviously don't have enough ventilation. I feel bad for the stylists who have to breathe it all day! I explained to Denis what I wanted and he definitely listened and tried to execute that as best he could. Unfortunately, I just don't think he has quite enough training and experience yet. Instead of soft, face-framing layers, I got more distinct looking layers and then he went a little crazy with the thinning scissors in the back. When I left with stick-straight hair, it kind of looked like a long bob in front with long hair under it. I restyled it the next day with more volume and it looked significantly better but I missed that "just left the salon looking like a supermodel with my hair swishing in the wind" feeling. A few days later I washed my hair and let it air-dry with some product to test the promise that the cut would look great wavy. It just got poofy - which is exactly what I thought. The shorter you cut it, the bigger it gets. Again, I think he meant well but just doesn't have enough experience with my kind of hair. For his level of experience, I think he should be charging $50-55 rather than $70. Overall it was an ok cut and an ok experience, but I'll keep looking for a great person in Houston. read more

Thairapy is my consistent "go to" for a regular men's haircut, specifically with their stylist, Liz. This review is long overdue, because it makes a handful of years or more that I've seen Liz. I usually start with a shampoo, then she asks what style I'd want, but it's usually the norm for me. On a few occasions, Liz has provided advice when I've asked and done something new for me. She always asks if I want a rinse when I'm done, which I sometimes take her up on depending on where I'm heading next. Lastly, they have a beautiful arrangement of plants at the salon, and a good bit of credit is due to Liz for her care-taking, which adds to the peaceful ambiance of this establishment. read more

If you are okay with spending good money for a hair cut, M Salon is to place to go! I have been coming here for almost 3 years now after a friend recommended it. I know their prices are rather high but Ive gone to other salons in Houston and I have yet to find a better place. My stylist is Julie. She's a super sweet edgy girl whom I always commend for doing my hair while wearing the HIGHEST heels! I have never left her chair disappointed with the outcome. I have pretty basic straight long virgin brunette hair. I never really have a style in mind when I go to Julie. I just sit down, tell her what I like, she gives her honest opinion, then works her magic! She is also the BEST when it comes to styling your hair. I always get so sad when I watch what she does then go home and can't do it myself. If you can't book an appointment with Julie I am sure any other stylist would just as well. I have friends who color and cut their hair at M salon by other stylists and their hair always looks soo good! If you have money to spare I would suggest purchasing their products. I believe they use Oribe when washing your hair and it has the best scent ever. I purchased the texturing spray and moisturizer and I am obsessed! I've only been here once and Kristen was such a delight! She's the one with the beautiful tattoos and a sassy attitude to match, which I totally love! From the moment I sat down at her station to walking out the door, I felt like the entire experience was just girl-talk hanging out time and I didn't realize how much time had passed. She is AMAZING at color and thinking outside the box. Before, my hair was all sorts of shades of brown from sun discoloration, hair dye, root treatments, and outgrown low-lites. She changed it all around and gave me a peekaboo black-to-light brown ombre. From the photos I had shown her previously, I suppose I misled her that I just had regular brown hair but upon arrival I had different shades of brown and the process to get to the ombre would be more than we expected. NOT A PROBLEM! Kristen combated the situation and I walked out beyond satisfied with my new hair. Kristen knows a lot about color and she's done some crazy experimenting on her hair herself, so she is definitely credible as far as knowing what to do. I'm definitely coming back to see her again. Overall, the establishment is very well kept. It's small compared to chains like Visible Changes and Toni & Guy, but it does the job and it's actually a very nice set-up that doesn't look like your standard hair-cutting salon. read more

I would like to start off saying that I hate haircuts. I have gotten tons of horrible haircuts which led to me completely dreading them and only going when I had to, once a year. Upon recommendation by my boyfriend (who also goes to M Salon), I decided to get a trim in January. I told Denis about my concerns and he did a great job with my nervous self, and I loved the trim! I even came back after 3 months to get another trim in April, no hesitation or dread! I trusted him to cut my hair as I had described I wanted. I went to him again today to get my hair colored. I am so glad that I went here for my haircut and color. After 4 years of having long hair down to the middle of my back, I was fed up and tired, and ready for a drastic change. I had to hold onto my plans of morphing my plain, non-colored dark brown straight and boring hair into a Rihanna inspired bob with subtle purple highlights until after my residency interviews were done and then I luckily got in an appointment with the lovely Veronica on a Sunday. This was great because currently my schedule is hell and Sunday was the only free day I'd have in awhile. Veronica was so easy to talk to and very personable. Also she understood my hair type very well - Asian thin and limp, so offered me advice on how to remedy it. After being pampered for about 2ish hours, I left with a new edgy Rihanna inspired haircut that worked for me! I showed Veronica photos of what I wanted the new do to look like and she did the best to make it fit my face/neck/etc! It's great, and the purple actually shows up! Also I chose to go with Veronica in order not to break the bank as I am still a relatively broke and unemployed college student, and she was totally affordable and did such an excellent job! Eureka!!! After being out in Houston for the past 3 yrs or so, I have finally found a salon that I can go back to...thanks fellow yelpers!!! I called and scheduled my appointment for a haircut and color. It had been so long since my last visit to a salon that I was afraid of what the stylist was going to say. The day arrived and I made my way to M Salon. I was greeted immediately as I walked in and asked if I wanted anything to drink while I waited for Julie. We began to discuss my hair and why it's been so long since my last visit (you could totally tell from my hair and the grown out highlights it had been way over a year or so...my bad!). I told her I wanted an overall color that had a hint of violet and red and that I wanted to cut a lot off, about a foot (well it seemed like it). The process began and about an hour or so later, I had a haircut that I absolutely loved: a little shorter than shoulder length, layers, bangs and a great color. We both decided that I would come back the following week for red and purple highlights. Now I have the urge just to go crazy with my hair since I found a great stylist at a conveniently located salon...woo hoo!!! read more

I could tell you stories about the misadventures I had in trying to find a decent hair stylist when I moved to Houston three years ago. Finding Thairapy was like finding my soul mate of hair salons. Unlike other places I encountered in Houston, there is no sticker shock. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality. The products used are nice, and they don't put a sales pitch on me to buy every time. I go to Lisa, who is always very friendly and must be commended for being able to successfully interpret the ambiguous requests for cuts that I have given her. I have been coming here for a couple years now and wish I had found the place sooner! They always offer a beverage upon arrival and also give significant discounts if you make referrals. read more

I came into the salon back in October with 3 months worth of grown out highlights and faded color and was in desperate need of cut. I was also really nervous because I had decided I wanted to take off a good amount of length from my hair and hadn't gone that short in yeeeeeeears. I had an appointment with Veronica. I told her my concerns (I have problem hair, to say the least) and told her the look I was going for. She was professional enough to tell me that I couldn't have the exact look I was going for because the picture I brought in for reference was a completely different hair texture than mine, but that we would get it as close as possible. Like I said, I have problem hair, but Veronica didn't even flinch at the challenge. She gave me an awesome cut and color and I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. Their prices are a little on the high side, but I think it was worth the splurge. Came in with a friend who wanted half her head to be shaved (think Cassie or Cher Lloyd). I recommended M Salon without ever stepping foot in it. Why? I'm not really sure.. guess I drove by it more than once and it seemed decent enough. Plus, if you're going to shave half your head, you wanna go somewhere that's not Visible Changes (hey, sorry). This was completely spur of the moment, and we called at 1 p.m. and were able to get an appointment the same day at 4 p.m. The receptionist was nice enough when we got there. My friend was sat promptly and we were offered beverages of our choice by her hairstylist's "assistant". My friend's hairstylist was Tiffany, who is listed as an M Salon Assistant on their website. Luckily for my friend, Tiffany was sporting the hairstyle she wanted not too long ago, so she had first hand experience in terms of how to care for it, where to stop the shaving, etc. She was direct, knew what she was doing and managed to listen to what my friend wanted while still offering her creative input. I sat next to my friend the whole time and assured her (EVERY 5 MINUTES), "Yes, it looks good", "No, it's not too short" and "You don't look like a boy". Tiffany didn't seem phased by the constant, "You're not cutting it too short, right?" and "I don't want it too bald". Tiffany did her thing, and the final product was exactly what we envisioned! I cannot vouch for their coloring services, but the cut and style was terrific. She did large curls using a blow-dryer and shaped my friend's hair where it had enough body without looking like a mullet or being too short. After washing, cutting and styling, the total came out to be $65. They didn't try to push products too much, but my friend ended up buying a travel size of Bumble&Bumble's hairspray (+1, they have travel sizes!) anyway. At the end of checkout, the receptionist gave my friend 3 gift cards in $20 amounts. I'm not really sure why, but it was a pretty nice surprise. I'm definitely going to come back to M Salon! Really love this salon. The person who cuts my hair is Christopher, he is a true artist, and I highly recommend him, but it seems like everyone who works there really knows what they are doing. You get what you pay for at M Salon, which is a lot. I was a regular client when I lived in Houston and recently had my hair cut and colored when I was there for an event. Although my stylist was quite young, I have to say that I got one of the best highlights/lowlights ever. That said, I had to steer him back on course when he said that he was planning to cut my hair dry (not at these prices). Also, what I ended up with was more than a trim than a cut, just the ends, yet I was still charged as I would have been if he had reimagined my style Finally, the charge ($200) included an itemized cost for toner, which is standard with color. Really? Michael trains his staff well and the service is always top notch. Just don't be afraid to speak up to get what you want. read more

This massage was the best I have had yet! I've been all over for a good massage, and happened to find this one through Groupon's "Buy It Now". Jennifer really rocked my world. Until this massage, I always thought I had to get a deep tissue to work out all the kinks. No pain, no gain, right? WRONG! Dennis was my stylist. He did great. I went in for a base color and partial highlights along with a trim. The color turned out exactly as I wanted. He really listened to me. He did my hair cut after he blow dryed my hair. I didn't think it would work but it did. I was very pleased with my highlights and hair cut. The place is pricey however I think I will be back. I'd rather pay for everything that turns out well then pay half the price and end up not even liking my color or cut. Everyone I came into contact with was super nice. I took my chances one afternoon by calling and asking for an appointment. It turned out their last appointment of the day was in 30 minutes so I took it. Huy turned out to be terrific--soft-spoken, attentive, courteous, and very skilled. My only request for my hair cut was to shorten everything, but keep it below the shoulders. Other than that, I asked him to just "surprise me." From the shampoo (great scalp massage) to the haircut/style, Huy was a real expert.. As a stylist, Huy exuded confidence without the posturing I sometimes see (and find irritating) in other stylists at comparable salons. He is communicative, but not talkative which I found extremely refreshing. After studying my face and my hair, Huy managed to transform the mess on my head into a clean, stylish do. While I am certain his breadth of experience is quite broad, the way in which he handled (tamed) my own hair suggests that he is particularly good with Asian hair (thick strands, voluminous, mostly straight, but not always). At any rate, I would highly recommend Huy @ M Salon for a reliable chic haircut. read more

I gave this salon a chance and I was never 100% satisfied with one trip to get hair colored. Every time I went in for service I always had to make a return visit to fix the initial work done. Of course the fix it appt is at no charge, considering you spend about $300+ at this salon for haircolor it should most certainly be at no charge to fix the color. I don't even have a lot of hair or long hair but I guess that's just what they charge for hair color. I tried Alicia at the recommendation of Christopher because he said she worked under him. I was originally going to see Christopher but his schedule is impossible to deal with. You will have to wait weeks or months before you can get in to see him, pay a $200 deposit to keep appt, and he also. charges more. However, the work I've seen of his - it's definitely worth it. Back to my color issues...so, I eventually moved on to another hair colorist when I had to come in for too many second visits to fix my hair with Alicia. The next colorist fixed the work that Alicia did on one of my return trips to fix my hair and my hair came out great. I made my next appointment with him recently and my color didn't come out like the way he did it when he fixed my hair. I called to let them know i wanted to come in because it's not exactly what i wanted and the receptionist suggested I let the owner Caitlyn do my hair. She said since i keep having the same outcome with the level of colorists that I'm using I should go with her and she has over 12 years of experience and blah blah blah. I scheduled the appt. to see her and when I went in, it was clear that she did not want to do anything with my hair. I had attitude from the minute i sat and tried to show her pictures. Every picture i showed her, she said I don't know if your hair will look like that. She said i don't know if it will pull too much red and if we put bleach on your ends they may break off. And if you want me to add more highlight then you have to sign a waiver. I did tell her that the last colorist fixed my hair and he did it right...is it possible to just do what he did? She said she didn't know if she could do what he did. Yet she has more experience than him, Really? So i show her more pictures and she's still telling me she does not know how to make my hair look like the picture. I'm trying to explain to her what i think he did to my hair last time and she just kept looking at me like I was speaking Chinese. I finally decided to just tell her..she has too much uncertainty for me and I would just rather have a refund and she said that was fine. I basically have a lot of highlights but not the blonde highlights, they're just a brownish red highlight. There's no dimension to the hair color and my hair just looks like one color of light brownish orangey brassy highlight. It's okay, sorta, but it's just not what i wanted and not what i had last time they fixed my hair. All in all...this was not the salon for me..maybe if i would have went to see Christopher i would have had a different outcome but my schedule just doesn't allow for that kind of pre-planning for a hair color visit months in advance. Oh well. On to the next salon.... In response to the reply to my review from Caitlyn...first of all my hair is not severely damaged and you never once said that my hair was severely damaged. You mentioned that you noticed some short pieces of hair and I explained that I used to put my hair up in tight buns all of the time and years ago the hair colorist I used to see probably did over process my hair which caused it to break easily when i would put my hair in a tight bun. As for unrealistic expectations...when you have unrealistic expectations that means you want something that cannot be attained. I have had at least three successful visits to M Salon, but the problem is it usually takes two visits for it to come out like the desired look. Therefore, they're not unrealistic expectations if I've already had the color come out the way I wanted. Your demeanor was very unprofessional and the fact that you didn't even offer any solutions nor did you have suggestions the way Denis did when he fixed my hair last time - that just shows how confident you are in your ability to color hair. And the fact that you felt the need to reply and outright lie about the situation...that further proves my statement in saying you're unprofessional. read more

The al a carte menu left me unsatisfied this past visit. I still spent close to $200 but because I wasn't looking for overall highlights just partial and no cut I was shuffled to assistants and left under a dryer instead of the normal blowout and the highlights were not nearly as good. Hot in spots. I'm used to going to a top salon in Chicago, paying $120-$150 and getting wonderful service and basically whatever I need color wise. Salon offered to fix but I'll be looking elsewhere. I waited a week prior to posting a review... because I judge my haircut on the ease of maintenance when I have to style it myself. However, I'm happy to report I've finally found a hair stylist after looking for several years now in Houston. Michael was absolutely great! I went in, without any sort of picture or idea on what I wanted to do. After getting a gauge on what general style I was going for, Michael was able to fully communicate (very important!!!) with me what he envisioned prior to chopping off any tresses. Five inches and some blunt bangs later, I now have a completely different look, and am absolutely loving it! It was also an extremely nice touch when they called a couple days later just to check how I liked my new cut... now THAT is some customer service! read more

BEST SALON IN HOUSTON. PERIOD. I have been coming to the salon for years now and can't imagine going anywhere else. Denis has been my hairstylist since the beginning and it has been a pleasure watching him grow within the salon. He is now a Level 2 hairstylist, the M Salon House Educator and also their Network Educator. Denis gets the opportunity to work and learn from the best salons in the country meaning you're receiving the latest up to date techniques and trends in the industry. Denis definitely takes the time to listen to his clients and is able to provide exactly, if not better results than what the client is asking for. It's great to know that M Salon values their clients and pushes education within the salon in order to provide the best. The staff is also really welcoming and make you feel right at home. I had an appointment with Denis and he did a great job! I wanted highlights, and he asked if I had any pictures of examples. He then told me that these pictures were not highlights but painted highlights/color. So that's what we decided to do! He did the color, cut and style and it took about 3 hours while I drank champagne. I think he did a good job of listening to what I wanted. He recommended some products but didn't push too hard. Pricing was appropriate for the salon and is pretty comparable to other salons. But it is by no means cheap! I would recommend this salon. It was very clean, and on a Friday afternoon it was not too crowded. They also called a few days later to ask if my hair was doing okay. Very thoughtful of them! read more

I usually don't splurge on haircuts but my hubby said as a Valentine's Day present, he wanted me to splurge on pampering myself. My friend recommended me to go here. I made an appointment with Veronica. The service was great. I booked online and someone called me back to confirm my appointment. This salon is very trendy and the people there are very nice. Veronica walked me down to sit and started to ask me what I was looking for and she looked at my hair and gave me suggestions as well. She was very attentive to what I was saying and definitely gave me good tips on my hair. I loved that she spent about an hour on my hair. I didn't feel rushed out like how some salons do it. She was very informative and very nice. You definitely get what you pay for here at the salon. It was a great Valentine's Day present from my hubby!! =) read more

My review is for Liz at Thairapy. She's been cutting my hair for about 3 years now. I will always come back because she does a great job with my long, thick hair AND introduced me to hot rollers. What I thought was an outdated hair appliance is a total godsend to someone who doesn't know how to blow out their own hair. Anyway, Liz really knows her way around cutting and styling long hair. She is great at taking your requests and really incorporating it into a gorgeous style. She's also not really pushy with the retail. She'll offer stuff but doesn't make you feel uncomfortable, which is nice. I would totally recommend. Also she's really great at color. I had the same stylist for nearly a decade and refused to go anywhere else. But during his vacation, I desperately needed a haircut and style and was extremely nervous about trying someone new. Someone recommended me to Julie at M salon and I finally got up the courage to go to her. She did such an AMAZING job because she really listened to what I wanted, suggested ideas that introduced me to new techniques, and was very meticulous in her technique. I never felt rushed and felt really pampered. She made sure I felt comfortable by offering me water and even wine! Well forward 5 years later... I refuse to go to anyone else but JULIE!! She has transformed me from long blown-out curls to a pixie cut... from golden blonde to jet black... this woman does magic with her hands! I've been going to M Salon for a year now every month and I've never been happier with a salon as a whole. They have great service, offer complimentary drinks (alcoholic drinks included) and you get a discount for booking in advance. I switch back and forth between Grace and Denis, depending on who is available. They're both masters at their craft and pay attention to the littlest detail.
