My view on sushi as a whole has completely changed...in an absolutely amazing way. Omakase Style: basically translates over as "I leave it up to you." The chef curates a multi course and highly personalized tasting menu. My wife and I had the pleasure to partake in this unbelievable experience for our 21st anniversary, and it was hands down one of the best meals we've ever had. Not this month, not just sushi, not just in NC...but one of the top meals of all time anywhere. We had the Grand Omakase, which came out to 10 courses in total. I won't go into detail on each and every course, but let's just say that each and every course was of the highest quality fish, sushi or meat we've had anywhere. From the sushi flown out straight from Japan, to the beluga caviar and A5 Wagyu, and everything in between. We've had sushi across the nation and overseas, 100s of times. This has taken the top #1 spot out of all of them, especially with what we were served in the Grand Omakase package. Impeccable service, 8 sushi chefs all working efficiently at once in an open style sushi kitchen, all within a classy (but not pretentious by any means) establishment. The Grand Omakase package here is one of those bucket list items for anyone who loves sushi, top shelf meats and fish, and enjoys a high level foodie experience.

Fantastic. My wife and I had the Grand Omakase and 2 items especially one in particular was one of the best bites of food in my 55 years. Pics are in order 9 dishes. The atmosphere was okay. A little busted.

M Sushi is the talk of the town with high recommendations and a "must go" reputation, so of course it's one of the first places I try since moving to Cary. Sadly, I am sorely disappointed. Hailing from Florida, I'm used to high quality raw fish and M Sushi does not deliver this. Claiming they source their fish from Japan may be true, but I question how they store and prepare the fish, as it did not taste fresh. I tried the chirashi bowl, which was not what I was expecting: served on vinegar rice and shaved tomago, the fish was cut into chunks, not the thin slices well trained sushi chefs deliver. The fish tasted bad. Their sushi rolls can make up for the fish flavor by adding over powering ingredients, but their mismatched flavors, like spicy tuna and some kind of fruit sauce, didn't work. The only good thing I had was the truffle white fish dumplings, they were spectacular. Which makes me think I might still enjoy the other M restaurants. Sorry guys, this place just isn't it. My server was excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable.

We had 8:30pm reservations and were seated promptly. It was cold in the restaurant and the space is tiny, the space wasn't very visually pleasing either...Our server was very sweet! She was funny attentive and so kind. She recommended some unique Sake options, The Pink Lady was my favorite and faintly tasted like rose. For starters I ordered the crudo and edamame, which was delicious. The crudo was EXCELLENT! It came with a matcha foam that was light and fresh. For my main, I ordered the spicy tuna (traditional maki) and the dynamite roll which my friend recommended. I didn't care too much for the dynamite roll. It was too heavy for my taste! I did like the spice.

M Sushi is truly first-class sushi and delivers an experience that feels special from start to finish. I came here for a special occasion and tried my first-ever omakase, and it did not disappoint. The opportunity to try otoro alone made it memorable, rich, buttery, and something I still think about. What stood out most was the pacing and intention. Receiving each course at incremented times allowed you to fully appreciate every piece of fish, and you could tell how much care went into both the selection and presentation. Nothing felt rushed, and every bite had purpose. It's an incredible way to experience sushi, especially if you've never done omakase before. The staff guides you through it, making the experience approachable without losing any of the elegance. If you're looking to treat yourself or celebrate something meaningful, M Sushi is absolutely worth it. An unforgettable introduction to omakase.

I wish I could give them a 4.5 star rating. Rounded up to 5 bc service was immaculate. The server, hostess, and other employees were so gracious and welcoming. The food was okay, I think it was a bit pricey for what it was. The fish was fresh but not as fresh as Shijiri and Akami. The bento seemed a tad overpriced as well, but in general it was pretty high quality. It was a little too dark for my liking. The yuzu mocktail was refreshing and perfect for warm weather.

What I recommend: Crispy Tuna Appetizer The omakase at M Sushi in Fenton Cary really impressed me, especially coming in under $100. The fish was high quality, fresh, and well prepared. It's not trying to reinvent anything, but it doesn't need to. It's just really good sushi. If you've had omakase in cities like Chicago, Boston, New York, or abroad, this might not blow you away, but for the Triangle area, it's top notch. The service was phenomenal, the ambiance was great, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Overall, M Sushi is one of the best omakase spots you'll find in Cary or Durham.

Wow. This is a must when heading to Fenton. The staff was very helpful at providing insight to the "best bang for your buck" options on the menu. The waitress also recommend the pork dish and that was amazing. I will be back.

Came here for a nice dinner after seeing so many great reviews online. Our server was great, the atmosphere was calm and nice, the food came out super quickly. The miso soup was yummy and the edamame was a good serving for the price! The sushi was just okay like it was good but nothing spectacular. We had the chefs nigiri and two maki rolls. I don't think we would come back though - pretty expensive for us students

Pretty good sushi and nice location. Nothing wrong with the sushi per se _ I'm just a bit of a sushi snob. Rice was perfectly cooked but the crispy rice tuna was a bit greasy for my liking. Great miso soup too.

M Sushi is probably one of the best sushi establishments in the Triangle area. They offer a few different Omakase options as well as a la carte services. They are not cheap but the sushi is great quality. We had a reservation and it was fairly busy the night we came. We had gone to a few Omakases before so we're familiar with the process but our server did a great job at explaining everything and explaining the different cuts of fish. We didn't sit at the bar for the full experience but everything else was very good. They also offer a variety of drinks as well. The inside can be a bit crowded during peak dinner times so plan for that. It's a bit dark inside and goes for kind of like a night bar vibe. The bathrooms are nice. Once the Omakase is over you can order a la carte. Definitely one of the best if not best sushi options in the Triangle. They also have a location in Downtown Durham.

    Sushi Deluxe lunch combo
    Kevin C.

This was my first time coming here, and having heard all of the hype from my wife about this place, we decided to pop in for a weekday lunch. Arriving not long after the restaurant opened for the day, we were comfortably able to grab a table. But I noticed the seats began filling up during peak lunchtime and by the time we left, there was a slight wait. I ordered the sushi deluxe lunch combo, which comes with 8 pieces of chef's choice nigiri, alongside a sea trout and avocado roll and miso soup. Every bite was a savory adventure and totally worth the splurge. The service was fantastic and my water was topped off plenty of times throughout the meal. I'd definitely recommend this place for those of you that are looking for a high end sushi restaurant. Five stars all the way!

I've been to M Sushi twice and if you are feeling a little boujee this is the place to go for very good quality sushi. It is on the pricer side but it is worth it.

You can people watch and enjoy the night lights and all that mother mosquito has to offer. No it wasn't a typo and I got the red bumps to show for it but it was worth it! Out of all the dishes the screaming o tuna roll with tempura shrimp and the tortellini dumplings with truffle pieces on top took it home for us. The char siu dish fell flat compared to the duck bun that it was imitating. And speaking of imitation, the fried rice was a bit oily and has imitation crab instead of real meat which is on brand with the overpriced theme. 4 stars for food and ambience but 5 stars for the service. We had attentive servers that catered to our needs. Overall it's a great experience to have but for the price of the food, there's still room for improvement on the quality front.

It may be busier during peak hours, though :) Anyway, I ordered the Screaming "O" sushi roll for myself as well as the ocean trout nigiri, while my wife got the sashimi platter. I guess it's kind of like Japanese tapas so we were supposed to share, but we kind of just ordered our own dishes. They also had a decent beer, wine, and sake selection. The Screaming "O" roll was super tasty! Definitely one of the better sushi rolls I've had in the area. The nigiri wasn't bad but it definitely felt a little overpriced. My wife enjoyed her sashimi and thought the quality of the fish was very good, especially the tuna. We were still hungry after eating all of the above so we ordered the tiradito and shared it - pretty tasty but not a lot of calories :) So we were still hungry after that, too! We decided to call it a night, though. Overall, it did feel like everything was a bit overpriced, but it was also tasty (especially the sushi roll!). I'd consider coming back here for a special celebration meal, but not for a casual night out.

It's tough out here being a vegetarian who loves authentic ramen haha, but this was amazing. All the toppings (tofu, bok choy, bean sprouts, fried onion, sour pickle, green onions, fried wontons) were great- the sour pickle was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. The broth had an amazing depth of flavor- definitely curry, but not overwhelmingly so with a hint of refreshing lemongrass (it was also very light and smooth). The noodles were springy and got well-coated with broth. You get to choose your spice level, which is nice. This spot was packed on a weekday night, which was a good indication. Ambiance is casual. Service was fast and friendly, although I'd have appreciated being made aware of a substitution charge for my mom's ramen. Good amount of parking. 9.5/10 would recommend!

The short rib ramen was good, but the noodles were short, like they were cut or made short on purpose. The shrimp shumai was disappointing. Small bite sized portions, but they were soft. After cutting into one, I found out that they use rice as a filler with a bit of shrimp. I've never seen rice used in shumai, unless it's Shanghai sticky rice shumai. Also got a unagi don togo, it was good, just a bit small on the portion of eel, but it's hard to mess up an unagi don.

She asked where we would feel most comfortable sitting! The restaurant is situated in an adorable little house! There were a few small rooms indoors and two diff outdoor areas! We chose to try indoors to begin with! I had already called in advance cause I have a pretty severe allergy I needed to make sure they could change things and accommodate for! They were more than happy to be able to do so as everything is made per order! My aunt knows I love a good sangria and wherever we go she always inquires immediately if they have it! They didn't BUT Zoe came right back over, asked how I like my sangria and with what type of wine and said they could make me one! Shortly thereafter we had met Han, the manager, what a delightful and respectable manager who knows how to handle any and all situations! We had now decided we would like to sit outside even tho it was very hot out! She said let me get your things and she then said how about this little private room indoors as she wanted us most comfortable! Even tho my puppy is a service animal the only other couple in that room made a stink immediately and I said let's just go sit outside under the fans and on the deck! Han brought everything out asked about drinks as I had decided to cancel mine but on second thought decided I'd have one! She asked if I like it on the sweeter side etc! Not only was it delicious but the waitress upon bringing it over let me know immediately it was on the house! The food wasn't rushed but came in a very nice and timely manner and with beautiful presentations and the taste of everthing from our appetizers to our mains was of the highest quality! Zoe, Han and even the person who poured our water were the nicest as was the other couple sitting on the patio with us! Overall I'd give MCAsian Cuisine a five star rating and can't wait to return on my next trip to see my Aunt and I know she can't wait to return even before then! Thank you Han, Zoe and everyone at MCAsian! You have set the bar high!
