I came here early afternoon on a thursday abba sat at the bar. It wasn't busy and i was waited on immediately. The bartenders were nice. I ordered a drink, pink panther... while a pretty drink it wasn't good in my opinion. Too sweet. When asked how I liked it, i told them not so much and that it was too sweet. They did remove from my bill. I got the burrito mexicano, with steak added cheese sauce to it, I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5. The refried beans and rice were good. Nice space, lots of seating. Was super confused with the rebrand (?) Came here with my boyfriend the queso was insane. Super heavy and thick very good. Service was fast our waiter just talked extremely fast. Food was very good. My friend and I both got the ACP lunch special. I really enjoyed the queso covered rice and felt like it was a good portion size. There was a little heat to the food (spice) but it wasn't too bad. I appreciate them doing the lunch menu until 4pm. Service was just ok. Had dinner at Mi Pueblo for the first time this past Saturday night with a friend, and it was amazing, from the food to the service. I ordered their chicken fajita quesadilla with rice and beans, and it was all incredible! The food was very delicious and flavorful, and the portions are HUMONGOUS, so we definitely had leftovers afterward. My friend and I split a queso dip, and it was delicious-no surprise there. My colleague and I were looking for something different for our Friday lunch, and he suggested Mi Pueblo. I wasn't looking for anything heavy, as the sauces can sometimes be, and so I wasn't optimistic when I opened the lunch menu. Boy was I surprised! I chose the shrimp fajitas with corn tortillas, and they were great, The guacamole tasted great, the vegetables were fresh and crispy, and the shrimp was al dente with a slight spice to it. My colleague also order the salsa verde, which had a nice kick to it with the chips and sprinkled over the rice. Last but not least the prices was very reasonable. The large queso portion was almost half the size it usually is and super milky/runny, when we asked as it arrived they told us "they got new bowls".... Steak chimichanga was absolutely FILLED with oil from the fryer. So much oil it wasn't even edible.... The new name is Ma'Luz and it is a really nice spot. A friend recommended eating here and it did not disappoint. We sat next to the fountains and they had music playing which was very nice. It was still early afternoon so they also had a brunch menu. I ordered the chicken taquitos with the sweet corn sauce and the cheese and bean dip. I have been wanting to try their brunch for the longest time and they did not disappoint. I got the margarita flight which was only $12 ! And I also ordered the steak skillet and dulce de leche pancakes. Boy oh boy was it delicious. The skillet came out sizzling and it was packed with flavor . The pancakes were just the right amount of fluff and sweetness and not overwhelming thick. The margarita flight was done just right . Our server Cathy was wonderful and attentive . This place gets the unusual five stars from me, and I am not grading on a curve here. This place was recommended by a friend from Texas, so I know he knows Mexican food. His recommendation was spot on! The food was phenomenal, the service was excellent and the ambiance is too. We started with the Ceviche. I was skeptical, but decided to try it. Definitely fresh and teaming with flavor. My wife and I decided to order two dishes and split them both. We went with the chicken flautas and Carne asada. The flautas are amazing. The chicken is probably the best I've had in years. The other flavors were a perfect match. The carne asada is great. It's tender, appropriately seasoned and grilled not fried. The greenery is actually green and the tomatoes juicy. The rice and beans are excellent and flavorful. I had the corn tortillas and they are the best I've had in Carolinas by far. My wife had the Habanero Pomegranate margarita and it was amazing! The perfect blend of sweet and spicy. I wish I could tell you how the dessert is but I didn't have room. They have $6 house special cocktails and margaritas! The staff was super helpful even though they were confused with the Yelp check-in offer of receiving a free queso dip and chip. My daughter and I went for lunch last Friday and neither of us were satisfied with our meal. She actually was I'll Friday night and Saturday after eating here. 2/7 My family went here impromptu last night to celebrate my sister's birthday! We had a party of 6 (+3 high chairs) and were seated pretty quickly even though it was dinner time. Majority of our table ordered the Texana Quesadilla just with various tweaks (no steak, no shrimp, no vegetables, etc). I was very impressed that no one at our table had to send anything back. Everything was made to order and was delicious. My mom was the only one to try something different: the Golden Chicken Flautas. She liked them. Our waitress was great and attentive. Solid 4. It's a Mexican restaurant or like I always say an American Mexican restaurant. Food is what you expect of this typical cuisine. We went on Taco Tuesday. The odd thing? There was a DJ. At first reggaeaton (sp?) music. I was feeling the vibe. My sister? Not so much. Then we hear the customary staff happy bday song. The DJ switches to In Da Club. I was like that's cute "Go Shawty it's ya birthday...". After that straight hip hop / club vibe. Totally unexpected. There wasn't much of a crowd when we left around 9pm. Mind you the parking lot was packed packed when we arrived at 7pm. Either we weren't staying long enough or everyone was homecoming-ed out. There were a lot of college homecomings the previous weekend. I ordered the taco trio special. Doesn't look like a lot of food but trust me; it's plenty. What I didn't like were the actual tacos. They fall completely apart. They do not double up the tacos. Eat quickly don't let them sit or the taco will disintegrate. The fillings were flavorful and a wide variety from which to select. The slice of radish was odd not because it's on the taco but a singular circular slice? Let me get two halves. You'll see it in the photos white onions, cilantro and the pickled onions. To drink? Tecate. The table sign & website say $2 but the table sign says $3. Ummm but a can? Nah. I was expecting a mug of beer. I only got one. Won't be getting canned beer again should I go back. Too many draft options. I prefer draft. Not a beer snob! I am not above canned beer. No pictured is the choriqueso. Delicious! My Sister got the tequila chicken - Grilled chicken and veggies basically. I gotta say the mix of veggies caught my attention. Bright colors & nicely cut. C'mon! Ya'll have seen overcooked veggies almost drained it all color. What my sister was not impressed with? The mimosa flight. In fact she ordered a regular mimosa. I ended up finishing it. It was bad but wasn't that great either. Love the presentation but unless you're that indecisive, just order a regular sized drink. Also, I am going to learn my lesson about checking in after I order. I had an offer for a free small queso. Now, would I have ordered choriqueso too? Probabaly. I love the stuff. Impressive Service! Party of one... I was greeted and quickly seated. My server came to the table right away and welcomed me. She offered me their $6.99 20oz Margarita Special; so you know I had to take her up on that offer. Seconds later, another server brought me some chips and salsa. The chips were cold, but they tasted good, and the salsa was perfect. I ordered the Veggie Burrito and had a choice of 2 sides: guacamole salad, rice or refried beans. I don't eat meat and the server didn't know if the beans were cooked with meat juices, so I played it safe and ordered the rice and guacamole salad. My food arrived on the table fresh and piping hot. Everything tasted great. Very delicious and really hit the spot. My margarita was delicious too. After checking in on Yelp, I received a coupon for a free side of queso, so my server packed it to-go for me along with chips and salsa. Overall, this was a great experience and I'm so glad that I came across this place. The food was great, the restaurant and restrooms were clean, and my server Julissa was excellent. I've been coming here for years and have always loved this place. However, I've been here twice in the last week since they've changed to Ma'Luz and it has been disappointing both times. Both visits our food was incorrect. I didnt say anything last time, but tonight I did and the server tried to tell me i was wrong, then did not try to correct it or bring me what I actually wanted. I have been a long time vegetarian customer of this restaurant and have enjoyed my visits. Turned vegan in 2023 and this is the first time after that and felt so disappointed with food and services. Firstly, I would love to see some vegan options here as I asked for vegetarian burrito with no dip and it tasted really bad, not sure why would a burrito be sweet ? Second, their services sucked, it is a Monday and the restaurant is not even half full still we ended up waiting for half an hour. We got chips and salsa and drinks and any refill took forever.
