She also helped us create our kitchen floor plan with precise measurements that our contractor was able to use, which made the installation process much smoother. What we appreciated most was that Coco continued to support us throughout our remodel. Whenever we had questions about our purchases, she was always available and happy to help. Having someone so knowledgeable and responsive gave us a lot of confidence during a project that was completely new to us. Pros: Very competitive pricing--probably one of the most cost-effective places for cabinets and flooring in the Bay Area. Complimentary cabinet design service. Large selection of products, including cabinets, flooring, tiles, countertops, vanities, and hardware. The flooring selection is excellent. I've been very happy with the quality, and East Star is still my favorite flooring supplier. Cons: The tile selection is a bit less appealing compared to the rest of the showroom. Cabinet parts are not labeled, which made assembly more time-consuming for my contractor. The standard particleboard cabinets are a good value, but I noticed slight warping on a few cabinet doors that made perfect alignment difficult. The upgraded cabinet panels performed noticeably better. Since there is no onsite measurement service, a few field conditions weren't fully captured during the design process, resulting in some installation conflicts (such as gas pipe clearance and an oven/fire door swing conflict). If your project has a more complicated layout, I'd recommend having your contractor& architect carefully verify all dimensions before ordering. The showroom is quite popular, so appointments and order processing can take some time. Planning ahead is a good idea if you're on a tight renovation schedule. For context, I also purchased cabinets from another local supplier that was only slightly more expensive and included complimentary design, onsite measurements, and installation options. In my experience, the service and standard cabinet quality were slightly better there. That said, East Star still offers outstanding value, especially if you're managing your own renovation. I'd happily buy flooring from them again, and I would also consider purchasing cabinets from them in the future.

We brought it back to the store, but they refused to exchange. The warehouse staff claimed that the installer had opened the package and checked when picking it up. However, the package was only opened enough to verify that the correct item was inside--it was never fully unpacked or inspected for damage. There was no reasonable way to see this damage without actually opening the entire package. I understand that damage can happen during shipping or handling, but the customer should not be left responsible for damage that was not reasonably possible to discover at pickup. I would strongly recommend that other customers carefully inspect the entire item before accepting or taking it home, and be aware of the store's after-sale services. To be fair, the sales staff were helpful and professional. My complaint is specifically about the after-sale service and the warehouse staff refusal to take responsibility for a damaged product.

I was able to find the brand that is slightly taller 34.5" that fits our needs (vs the standard 33"). The shop's focused on custom made or semi-custom made cabinetry. With my odd size vanity requirement, they were able to quickly offer a 3 cabinet solution that covered my needs. They will also suggest a couple countertop places to shop for and ordering via Excelle gets you a 10% discount. I visited the shop multiple times and happy to report that the experience has been consistently pleasant. Good coffee, good music, sound advice and they are super patient to let us visualize the colors and styles with different samples. Lead time is reasonable within a week for us and delivery was trouble-free.

In the end, we couldn't be happier with the result. The quality of the Shiloh cabinets is outstanding. The natural wood tones give the kitchen a warm, organic feel that is anything but bland. Since I was focused only on purchasing a vanity, I tried my best not to look at all the other products they carry, such as floor tiles, wood floors, bathroom tiles, shower fixtures, toilets, mirrors, shower doors, etc. So much to look at!! Richard helped me with my questions. He was knowledgeable and patient. He showed me comparable products around the floor then put my order together. Most items are in stock! That's great!! No need to wait for delivery. What I like about PHD is that I can purchase my products and my contractor can pick them up. I don't have to haul a vanity in my tiny car. Returns have a restocking fee. In short, we were impressed by the quality of the service and, because we shopped around a bit, found the prices to be reasonable. AE remodeled our old, tired bathroom. Originally, we did not understand that we would be responsible for selecting the materials. But after that sunk in, we did our diligence with the helpful assistance of AE. Jenny was very informative and responsive. She answered our questions, both those that related directly to the bathroom but also those relating more generally to remodeling strategies that arose from our inexperience. What do you think of this material? What do you think about this type of sink in this space? What kind of shower design is best for this concern of mine. Etc. I can't recall an instance where Jenny did not immediately and helpfully respond to email or text. Jenny also proactively made good suggestions. The remodel went well. We really liked the result. We were delayed a bit by the city and permits. But Jenny and her team were always patient and committed. In one instance, the city inspector came back with some surprising feedback. But Jenny and her team with due dedication and versatility adeptly executed on the feedback and made the inspector happy. Anyway, it's been about a year after the remodel. A few small issues came up recently. I contacted Jenny and she sent her team to handle without hesitation. The follow through was very impressive. Jenny will be the first person we call when we're ready to remodel the other bathroom.

They Scratched hardware that we purchased and we had to purchase another set. We spent a week waiting for new shower cartridges because they didn't know what type we should get. I wish our project came with an actual project manager who would tell us what we needed to do and by when. We felt like we had to plan and purchase so many things on our own They stuck this sticky plastic all over our carpet to prevent stains but when it was removed left adhesive residue everywhere and now my carpet is ruined. When I asked how to fix they ignored me. I regret starting this project with them. After this post there is a response from the "business owner" stating they are sorry and then a lengthy set of excuses which equates to a false apology. Bottom line is 1) you scratched up the hardware we gave you 2) we bought all the HW ourselves and asked if we bought the right cartridge. You all said yes. Give the right answer else we waste time. 3) we rejected your attempt to fix the carpet issue because your team had already used a wipe on the carpet and it didn't work. And then you offered to dump vinegar all over to clean it. Of course I'm going to reject that. What other excuses would you like to provide? And tbh you should be concerned whether your customer feels disrespected not your own feelings on the manner which is of opinion. And by the way your contract that we all signed includes a 1 yr warranty. I hope to not use that but your response seems to imply you are going to abandon communications with us which is a legal breach in your own contract.

They have a variety of tile selections and most of them were imported from Italy or Spain which with better quality there's less yield loss, hence you can buy less. Some of the special priced items have longer lead times, so make sure you double check with them. We didn't enjoy the process as much as with other shops because of 3 reasons. First of all, our sales contact was quite unavailable on the weekends or even Friday afternoons, so we had a hard time scheduling with her. But if you just walk in and ask for help from the front desk, they will assign someone to help. The second issue we found was the inconsistency of product introductions. We were worried about slippery tiles in the shower, our sales contact suggested us to focus on the tiles that have a special coating. The second sales person we talked to said the special coating was only for outdoor use, using the gauge lines between tiles is good enough to prevent slipping. Thirdly, after we got the quote, we couldn't place the order into the system with our contractor's discount; only that appointed sales person could do. Luckily we could get the rest of the process done via email and she sent out a link for me to make payment. If you have a Rakuten cash back app and pay online, I think you get the cash back as well.

When we were finally ready to revisit it, they were willing to honor the original estimate, which we really appreciated. This is our first home and the first major renovation project we've undertaken, so we were a little apprehensive going into the process. We ultimately decided to expand the project into a full remodel, and even with the additional scope, the updated price remained very reasonable and close to what we had originally expected to spend. Once the project started, everything moved quickly and smoothly through each phase. Communication was timely and responsive, which helped keep the project moving efficiently from start to finish. Tony, the foreman, and his team were extremely detail-oriented and did exceptional work. The craftsmanship really shows in the finished bathroom. Everything looks carefully installed and precise, and the tile work in particular is incredibly clean. We're extremely happy with how the bathroom turned out and with the overall experience, especially for our first major home project. We would use them again for future projects and highly recommend them.
