Great coffee! I ordered macchiato and almond croissant, which was fine. Nice sitting, mostly business meeting and lunch/coffee for employees who work around

    Skinny latte.

Really loved the way they set things up at macchiato, where ceiling is up in the air with enough daylight coming in through the giant window. While it was pretty spacious inside, Macchiato did not overuse its space by putting extra tables, so that I could relaxingly sit down and enjoy my sip. Small latte was indeed, small; and with the extra foams, I felt like my order was mistakenly taken as cappuccino. Ok. Perfect spot for a short stay early in the morning, and hopefully they can do it right with my order next time!

Most expensive latte in the area!! I understand that the location dictates the prices but 6 dollars for a medium latte is just insane. You are much better off going to Gregory or Bluestone lane. The taste was ok and design wasn't great. Inside they had plenty of sitting area and it was almost empty at 2 30 on a Thursday. The woman behind the register kept talking to her coworkers for a while before she paid any attention to me.

I used to passed Macchiato on my trek to work all the time. The big bold white letters on black background for their name on their sign inside the café behind the oversize windows instead of the outside always caught my eye when I used to pass. And then when I wanted to go and do a review I could not find them I then realize I was avoiding the block they were on due to re-construction of the building next to them with the endless removal of rubble in the mornings were construction crews blocking you until they are done. Well I made the effort this time to go to Macchiato on 46th street off 5th Avenue, the staff was friendly and did not mine as I was Yelping photos while they waited for my order. The place is neat, clean, and modern looking and has plenty of chairs, tables to relax if that's what you want. I was then rewarded by the Barista with a nice cup of Latte which was foamy, creamy with a good amount of liquid java inside. and it was naturally sweet from the stream milk. So I did not need to add my customary extra sugar. I did not try the sandwiches or chocolate chip cookies but I plan to do so on my next stop once I'm willing to deal with the construction obstacles again

    Teacup art. I love.

I never thought there could possibly be a coffee bar that would steal me away from starbucks and their bitter, dark roasts (my fave) but then I moved offices and landed across the street from macchiato (there are still two starbucks within one block either way of my office)...but OMG, what great, strong coffee they have. It's full of a bold and robust flavor, the cappucinos are full of perfection and the iced coffees can never be accused of becoming "watered down" this is purely delicious coffee at it's best. Also to note, the interior is very classy, warm and comfortable - you never feel like you are being rushed out. And then there is the food which is DELICIOUS. Starbucks fails on baked items as well as sandwiches and salads. Macchiato picks up right here with the best chocolate cookies within a 5 mile radius (super huge chocolate chunks), a great selection of muffin tops and croissants, very fresh and creative salads AND their egg and cheese or "Macchiato" sandwich are amazing (who makes a grilled haloumi sandwich around here, really???) I cannot rave enough about this place. Yes, it's pricey as is starbucks...think a starbucks without the line and with a MUCH better food selection. The staff is also very welcoming and full of cheer and honest suggestions if needed. I love Macchiato and wish there were many more around.

The staff is sweet and funny, the coffee delivers the right amount of caffeine, and the cookie is damn delicious. I think I've said enough for you to visit, yes?

Clean environment. Felt rushed, although they were empty. Coffee was okay - nothing special.

BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

Upon getting closer to the door, I learned it's part of Le Bilboquet restaurant on the same block. It wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. Every table except 1 was full, but most people were heading outside on such a beautiful day with their drinks and pastries. The cafe is very cute and French. They have so many pastries I couldn't decide, so I ordered a pain au chocolat and tea. They serve Harney & Sons teas. This is a lovely spot, and I'll return to try more.

I always get almond croissants from coffee shops but wow this one has to be one of my favorites. The crunchy (sugar?) top coating and the filling were delectable. I got one of the seasonal spring drinks, called "Karl" which is a banana cold brew with cold foam. I don't even like cold brews since they tend to be super strong and pretty bitter, and banana can be a hit or miss, but I enjoyed the hell out of this drink. It was a bit sweet, which I like, and the cold brew itself had a banana flavor when I had just expected it to come from the cold foam. I didn't sit or stay inside as I had to go to work, but there are a few (maybe 5 I think?) chairs along a bar counter on the side. Plants in the window too which I love. The barista was nice and made the drinks quickly despite being there by herself early in the morning (or at least I didn't see another employee). I recommended this place to my coworkers and can't wait to go back and try the other drink options!

Theres a shared bar table along one wall with high top chairs and menu options at the counter + a chalkboard with seasonal drinks. I left with a Balthazar Bakery box with 4 items. The 2 Everything pastries were filled with what looked like spinach and cheese. Incredible when reheated, but I wish they were served warm. The cinnamon roll was good, but not standout. The pain au chocolat was tender and flaky. Some of the seasonal drinks, like the Grinch, looked really good and I'd come back to try one, but I likely wouldn't swing for a pastry this time.
