Whenever I past by this location, it's normally closed in the late afternoon or evening. It's only open between 8:00AM-3:30PM. I finally got a chance to visit today and the building inside it's beautiful and simple. Plenty of seating though you need to purchase an item to use the seating. The employee at the cashier warmly greeted me and what I would like. I ordered a salmon and avocado platter. For the price, there was a decent amount of salmon, half an Avocado, salty goat cheese and several slices of bread. It's a bit pricey though we are in the Grand Central area. They also have a special for crossiant and coffee for $5. There is a restroom at the far end though it seems to be outside the room. Go check it out if you are nearby. read more

We were walking past and decided to stop in. This is a really large place. Surprisingly cute little tables. We had a coffee, one ice one Americano and a piece of a chocolate vanilla poundcake. The server was excellent. He couldn't have been nicer. It's a really unique little atmosphere if you're passing by this might be a place to stop for a cup of coffee. They do have food, but we did not eat it and they close at 3:30. read more

I ordered a croissant with egg and cheese without the ham. I think it's definitely worth the price. The coffee was quite awful, not hot and not black, as I requested. I don't know what type of coffee they're serving. I told the girl it was take out and she filled my cup up to the brim. Therefore when I started walking it started spilling all over my hands and the p. Aside for the bad coffee experience, I will return because the sandwich was good and fresh. Coffee is good. Oat milk latte. Fast and made expertly. They have a dessert case and a cafe area. This is a huge awkward space that is now a cafe. There is plenty of seating but it feels empty and might need a remodel to succeed. I would come back for their coffee. Lots of panettone for sale. read more

I spontaneously decided to try Cafe 346 since I was captivated by its association with Brook's Brothers. Encountering a classical, heritage-like ambiance was refreshing, especially when there are few like this in midtown. Sitting in the wooden chairs near the large window while you sip on a cup of afternoon coffee makes you feel comfortable and eager to start some work. The coffee is decent and I also like how they had a variety of different small dishes. You can even get gelato near the coffee station! Additionally, I appreciated how the barista behind the counter didn't mind when I asked her to make an iced espresso with some oat milk. She even poured it in front of me to ensure it was just the right amount for my liking. :) I only wish it didn't seem slightly lifeless or close early! It would be lovely to hear some classical music overhead. It's definitely worth checking out if you need a spot to mentally escape from a hectic day in the city. read more

Baristas aren't trained. Just ordered a cappuccino and got an overdrawn bitter two shots and a warm cup of almond milk poured on top. Worst cup of coffee I've tasted in a while. Undrinkable. A shame given how good Stumptown can be if made right. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Superb brunch offerings in a relaxing atmosphere with dark wood, good lighting, high ceilings, comfy chairs and a museum cafe feeling. Ordered the eggs Benedict and they were fantastic. Excellent service as well. Highly recommend. read more

cashier wrapped their hand OVER the open croissant/ham/cheese sandwich (instead of under the sandwich). cashier projected an unhappy disposition at 8am. when I ordered the sandwich, she asked if I wanted coffee. I replied "only if you still have the breakfast special". she replied, "that's what I mean", in a tone that implied "what else could it be?". keep in mind they removed all signs offering the breakfast special. if you want excellent service staff, try WatchHouse (just 10 min walk). read more

Their Tomato Soup is delicious. It's not served as often as I would like, but I work nearby and stop in a few days a week just to ask is there any Tomato Soup today. They know what I'm about to ask and before I reach the counter the gentleman will shake his head no...LOL so I don't walk all the way to the counter for nothing. I had a fantastic experience here! I ordered a cup of coffee that was made with patience and care, and it tasted so good! The employees were professional and polite, and were patient when customers lingered as the cafe was closing. I enjoyed sitting on the comfortable seats while sipping my drink in this very clean establishment. I also thoroughly enjoyed the people-watching; the group of friends to my right, who glanced at me a couple of times; the cute couple who sat with hot beverages -- in their own world, who never took their eyes off each other; and the elderly man who sat nearby with a newspaper and long, stylish coat. Mixed review - Staffers were super friendly today. The cafe itself is beautiful. But...Cafe 346 people - you can not leave iced tea out all day. It goes bad. This place leaves it out in an open pitcher, sitting on the counter. My iced tea was spoiled and I tossed it the minute I walked out the front door. One sip was more than enough. Yuk - gross. This place is literally steps from my office and I have been eyeing it for a while. The space is HUGE. Plenty of seating and comfy. I was really hoping it was going to be a go-to place, especially since they serve Stumptown coffee there, but I was not impressed. My cortado was average at best and so was the pastry. Nothing spectacular enough for me to come here again. If they expect to stay open, they're going to have to step up the quality in terms of the ingredients. I've had Stumptown coffee before (some of the best coffee around), and what I just had didn't remind me at all of Stumptown. read more

Overall, I thought the place was nice, but my impression has changed when I got desserts from the "pop up" dessert shop that sells gelato and things. I don't know what problem the guy had, but his service was quite underwhelming, frankly the worst service I've had in years. There were no customers besides us, and he was staring at his phone, didn't greet us, didn't verbally respond to my order, no smile, nothing. It was very unpleasant. People like that shouldn't work in the service industry. Two stars for the other regular staff who were nice and the spacious space. read more
