    Chicken burgers are So yummy
    Debbie W.

Wanted to try something new and this place popped up on my search. I'm glad we gave this a try as it was surprisingly quite good. The chicken patty in our burger was very juicy and thick. We really enjoyed them. We also ordered the regular hamburger, but I would recommend sticking with the chicken burgers. Our other favorite order was the This place a self-serve location. You order on your own at a kiosk and you'll only see the staff when they bring out your order. Parking can be tricky since its located in a very busy plaza. We parked in the neighboring street and walked around. The space has a few seating areas and there are many other things located in the plaza while you wait for your food. I would recommend this to others.

Tried Macho Burger recently and was honestly impressed by the chicken sandwich. The sandwich itself was pretty simple, but the chicken was definitely the star -- super juicy, well seasoned, and had a really nice crisp on the batter. Everything came out piping hot and tasted really fresh, which always makes a difference. We forgot to grab any sauces, but the chicken was good enough to raw dog on its own. Definitely curious to come back and try the burgers next time.

Been wanting to come back again since I first tried Macho so came here for lunch while I was in the area. They have a self ordering kiosk and I ordered the Macho Crispy Chicken Sandwich (9.99). I did dine in and they have a couple tables inside to sit at. The food was ready in about 10 minutes which is quick. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, the chicken quality is as good as the first time I ate it. But maybe because I wasn't as hungry so it didn't taste as good. The chicken patty seemed a bit less juicy than last time though. But still a pretty good chicken sandwhich although pricier than other places, it does have an Asian taste to it compared to western places. I think this is still a good spot for crispy chicken sandwich in the SGV. I think the Monterey Park location tasted better though.

Got the whole fried chicken which was super juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside (as fried chicken should be). I actually thought it tasted identical to KFC, which was a pleasant surprise. Slightly disappointing was the size of the whole chicken (which was probably about the width of my hand), but it was delicious nonetheless. Burger was good but tasted like any other burger.

Best popcorn chicken I've had in awhile!!! I got the regular and spicy cumin flavor. I think it was around $7 each but they give you a pretty decent amount. Regular-- just usual fried chicken, kind of savory Spicy cumin-- GOOD!! Has a spicy kick, way more fragrant, definitely worth to pay the upgrade for seasoning Also, the chicken chunks are nice and big and are still moist and juicy on the inside! Also some places are cheap where the chicken pieces are small and there's just chunks of fried batter... but not here!! Super good value for the money and the quality is great!!!

Macho Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($9.99 - Spicy Version)

I had a good experience at Macho Burger (San Gabriel). I ordered the Macho Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($9.99 - Spicy). It's HUGE!! Its chicken is also juicy, thick, and fresh. "TASTY!" (IMPORTANT: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Macho Burger (San Gabriel) on Tuesday (around 1:24PM). Parking is easy because there's a big underground parking structure. The sign says, "2 Hours Customer Parking Only." Staff interaction felt nonexistent. Customers can order at two self-service kiosk or the counter. However, Staff regularly vanishes to the kitchen. It's common to see an empty room. When Staff brought the food, Staff was robotic and swiftly scampered away without speaking. The food took four minutes and 38 seconds. Good time! As mentioned, I enjoyed the Macho Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($9.99 - Spicy). Its bread bun is fluffy and buttery. The chicken is thick, hot, and juicy with a light welcomed spice. Its breading is cooked perfectly; the outer layer offered a thin, crackly crunch. The lettuce is fresh, and the sauce had a faint sweetness. I felt extremely happy as I bit into this massive sandwich. I had a dumb smile as I feasted. Regarding ambiance, Macho Burger (San Gabriel) is clean and comfortable. There's six interior tables and one tall counter. There's also a gender neutral restroom for customers. However, the music has a loud, upbeat tune. The decor is also sleek and welcoming. Overall, I had a delightful meal at Macho Burger (San Gabriel). It's one of the best chicken sandwiches that I've tasted. I left full and happy. If you love chicken, this is an easy recommendation. 4.9 out of 5

The cumin fried chicken chop was crispy and has a lovely crisp and for the price it's really good. My family also loves the Beijing and California wraps. Crispy chicken and saucy goodness for all reasonable prices.

Suppose to be chicken tenders but it's all breaded no chicken in sight.

It should be illegal to serve this on their menu. Went through the whole box and found less than 4-5 of pieces of very thin chicken , the rest is just batter. Come on, Macho, u need to do better.

Located in a busy plaza in busy San Gabriel, parking can be a challenge. Got their crispy chicken burger which is a good portion for the price. Ambiance is a few seating. You order yourself at one of two kiosks. There's a restroom at the back.

    XXL Fried chicken chop $11

I tried a Taiwanese-style burger and snack spot that specializes in fried foods with lots of options. There are only a few tables, but the space feels open and comfortable. Ordering is very convenient thanks to their self-service kiosk. XXL Fried Chicken Chop - A huge piece of chicken seasoned with furikake. It was crispy on the outside, thin layer of chicken, and clearly made fresh. Definitely large enough to share. Overall, I recommend dining in and enjoying the fried food right away for the best taste.

This spot was a small little spot in SGV that really wowed me. I wasn't expecting for this place to be good but it surprised me. We got the tenders, wrap, and sandwich and I cant even pick what I like more. Everything was actually good and seasoned to perfection. I would go back again and try other things. Quick service and fresh food when we got it.

Been here once as recommended by my nephew and bragging about how good their fried chicken is. And he was really telling the truth, their chicken is top notch! Came here one night and ordered their popcorn chicken, their XXL chicken chop, they were so good! crunchy, and yet maintained the tenderness of the meat! Seasoning is very addicting. Love the seaweed seasoning. Got a bit of a spicy kick with it! got to try the cartilage too, flavor is there but its just that there is nothing to eat in that stick, lol! Also I ordered the truffle burger as recommended too. Now this is a big disappointment! The Patty is overcooked and hard, flavor is there but for the price that i paid for it is not worth it. The bread that they use is too dry and falls apart when you bite into it. I would have given this place 4-5 stars if not for that burger. If evr I will come back, it's because of their chicken, nothing more.

Parking: The lot is adjacent to the Hilton Hotel and can get really busy with the shared businesses in this plaza. However, there is abundant underground parking. Ambiance: Friendly service. Ordering was easy on your own through a kiosk. We came during a weekday lunch rush and waited about 10 minutes for our food. The space itself is clean. I was surprised by the rose gold food tray, wooden panels on the wall, and mid-modern century chairs. While waiting, I noticed a lot of people coming in to pick up orders to-go. Food: The chicken sandwich reminded me of a fast food chicken sandwich - crispy chicken, iceberg lettuce, and heavily slathered mayo. However, the quality and taste exceeded a fast food's standard. The chicken was gargantuan, wonderfully crispy, well-seasoned, and so juicy. The bread was buttery and soft. It was such a satisfyingly delicious chicken sandwich. The regular fries were salt and peppered. The curly fries were addicting. They only had ketchup (free) and dried seasonings (extra fee). I wished there was a ranch dressing to go with the addicting curly fries! But that is just fast food-eating, 'ol American me. Conclusion: This is a restaurant that knows how to treat their fried chicken! If you appreciate fried chicken sandwiches, this is the place for you. I will absolutely be craving it and returning!

The Legendary Chopped Cheese was definitely a highlight. The bread was fluffy and soft, and the meat was well-seasoned and flavorful. The ketchup and mayo combination reminded me of a thousand island-style sauce and added a nice creamy, tangy flavor to the sandwich. The Bacon Breakfast Burrito definitely didn't skimp on the fillings. It was packed with fluffy eggs, bacon, and crispy waffle fries. There was so much egg in this burrito that it was definitely a filling meal--and the waffle fries were a fun addition. The Chicken & Waffles were also delicious. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and well-seasoned, while the waffle was denser with a nice crispy exterior. I recommend adding maple syrup and hot sauce for that sweet-and-spicy combination. Overall, Monty's is a solid spot for anyone craving hearty comfort food with generous portions. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!

Well that was ages ago and it wasn't until now that I was able to visit and try out their delicious katsu, which hands down, is super good! I went during National Library Card Month. During the month of September, the city of Monterey Park is running a special where if you have a MPK library card, you can get deals and freebies from businesses and you can get an iced or green tea from Kagura if you show them your library card. I got a cold canned green tea, added to a cup of ice, refreshing and great with the delicious katsu that I got. I did a walk in for a slightly later lunch after dropping by Asayoru Maid Cafe across the street for a drink during their morning Asa shift. I went on a Thursday and was seated immediately. Staff is very friendly and checked up on me several times. It's a smaller restaurant, but it's simple and elegant in it's own way. No extra frills or bells and whistles. There were a couple other tables dining there and pick up orders too, so I can imagine it'd be busy during the weekends and lunch/dinner rushes. They have a paper wait list outside for those times. Limited parking in front of the plaza, but there's a parking structure next door. For my lunch, I got their demi glace loin katsu. It comes with miso soup, a side of rice, huge helping of cabbage salad with dressing, hot mustard, and some small sides of a sweet carrot salad, cucumber pickles, and 2 pieces of potatoes. Each side added a nice balance to flavor. I mention this in some reviews and to my friends that usually you get full because you get tired of the same flavor and texture all of the time, so I really enjoyed the small bites of crunchy texture from sweet, sour, and savory. The katsu is really where Kagura shines, as it's what they're known for. Super moist pork katsu meat inside, deliciously tender delicate layers of meat. The crisp of the breading outside isn't too greasy, but has the perfect level of indulgent oiliness that balances out. All perfect with a fluffy bed of rice and the demi glace brown sauce added a deliciously savory, slightly sort of fruity ketchup-y flavor (added this to my rice too!).
