In the area, sometimes I'm craving a burger in Rosemead that's not a McDonald's, the Habit, or In N Out. I've heard tons of great things about Macho Cafe. I was intrigued with the idea of how an Asian fusion burger place would be. My friend had chosen the Black Pepper Cheeseburger and my weakness is a good Truffle Burger. Since this isn't a fast food restaurant, don't expect to grab and go like McDonalds. It took about like 10-15 minutes for our burger to come out. The smell was aromatic and the burgers were hot right off the grill. We sampled both burgers and were impressed by the flavors and how it was captured in a sandwich. Meat was just right with the flavor and juiciness without being raw. It is on the pricier side for the burger but I would come again, not often, but one day. Love Macho Burger! Their fried chicken and popcorn chicken are probably one of the best I've had in the area. Always crispy and their chicken is still juicy. You have the option to online order and the pick up time is usually between 10-15 minutes. I love that you can also add flavoring to the chicken if you ever want to change things up. This place is a hidden gem! It has been only opened for a few weeks and this place needs to do more marketing since it looks like it never has a crowd. This place is located in the Hilton Hotel Plaza with other restaurants and shopping center so parking may be a bit difficult unless you park in the garage downstairs. Unfortunately the menu itself does not show the descriptions of the items so you may have to ask the workers a lot of questions if you're curious. I settled with the North America Chicken Wrap combo which came with fries and a drink. I decided to dine in which I waited for about 10 minutes the the cashier politely brought it over to me. This place has a bar table attached to the window with two seats and several tables with chairs/booths inside. The ambiance was decent and it wasn't too loud. North America Chicken Wrap 5/5 - a JUICY breaded chicken with lettuce and some type of sweet Asian sauce. It was so delicious and I would most definitely get it again. French Fries 5/5 - either my taste buds still had lingering flavor from the wrap or these fries taste semi sweet. But most definitely these are not your ordinary fries as they have little black specs on them which I'm assuming it's pepper. I'm a huge fan of French fries and these fries were amazing. The sandwich was served on a bed of lettuce with mayo and this complimented the chicken flavor perfectly. Thr spicy chicken wings were also extremely juicy yet crunchy. The wings and the sandwich were not spicy to my surprise and I have a pretty low spice threshold. Nonetheless, they were very delicious. The cartilage chicken was pretty interesting. The chicken is thick and juicy and the bun holds everything together well. I've tried the fried crispy shrimp sandwich before and was not a fan. The shrimp patty was super dry and thin, it didn't have any flavor. Definitely stick to their chicken items. I stumbled across this place after an intense badminton session. What caught my attention was a sign listing popcorn chicken for $5.49! I thought to myself what a steal! It seems like $9+ for some quality popcorn chicken is now the standard, so we had to check this place out. Food came quick. Portion size is good, we had 6 people in our group and ordered 2 popcorn chickens with 1 curly fry to share. This was enough to keep our group satiated through the afternoon for to prepare for korean bbq later. This is a typical fast food joint. They don't care much for your business. Don't greet you when you come in, do not clean tables so just expect the bare minimum. The Chicken sandwich is decent but will likely be stringy. I have dined here and had other patrons who received their chicken undercooked. Just be careful. The sandwich was very tasty light, and crispy, with a good amount of seasoning and mayo. The fries were seasoned well, and the drink was a large size. While I ordered to go, I found the staff to be helpful as they even brought my food out to the table I was sitting at rather than making me go to the counter, which was a nice little touch. There was a good amount of small tables inside, and it is clear that it would be a nice place even when busy for people to come and quickly eat their food while chatting casually with friends. We decided to get it delivered via Doordash because she mentioned that it might be a little wait because the food is made to order which is great because I know my chicken isn't sitting underneath a heat lamp. We ordered a giant chicken fillet with cumin seasoning, 6 spicy chicken wings, and an order of cheese sticks. The giant chicken fillet was HUGE! The chicken inside was nicely marinated, moist in the inside, crispy on the outside (even after delivery), and the cumin seasoning was very nice, not overly salty. The 6 spicy chicken wings were also very delicious. Flavorful and moist on the inside. I can eat spicy foods so this had a nice kick. We had some leftovers from earlier; it's been two hours and I just had another wing. Its still crispy. So good. I didn't try the cheese stick but my partner said it's a good standard mozzarella stick. As someone who doesn't really like the Nashville Hot Chicken taste, their chicken is perfect for me spiciness wise. The kick is very subtle inside the breading, you feel the heat with the juiciness, instead of barbarically tossed all over the chicken like other places.. One thing they could improve on are the fries. They sprinkle them with pepper, but they need salt. Gives me bland in-n-out fries vibe. I highly recommend this place, but skip the fries.
