What a great deal of food, I missed getting a quick to go lunch at Asian food courts at a reasonable price and we had business to attend around this plaza so we checked out the food court. This place had the most options I feel worth trying. They have a three item combo for $10 (includes tax) and drinks for $1.50. For very large meals, it was only $23. The combo comes with a side of noodles (chow fun, vermicelli, chow mein) or white rice, and they pack it high! The items range from vegetables (however they are touching nearby meat dishes so be careful if you are strictly vegetarian), pork, chicken, fish/shrimp, and beef. We chose chow fun, white rice, fried fish fillets, orange chicken, spicy chicken, fried chicken leg, braised pork stew, and teriyaki chicken. We also got two Diet cokes. The fried fish was crunchy, it was a little pink but didn't taste fishy. I enjoyed the fried chicken leg, parts of it were too hard to chew (edges). Teriyaki chicken and spicy chicken was the best, tender and flavorful, even my toddler loved the teriyaki chicken. Came yesterday afternoon & had a good experience. The staff is kind & have quick service. The lady helping me was nice to help us figure out what we wanted & informed us of the menu well. We ordered a combo with an entree & 2 sides for $9 which is such a great deal! They give a good amount of food & it's flavorful. When we drive this store on our way to the supermarket in the area yesterday on Tuesday, 8/25/26 at 11am and we were only order one drinks but mom wanted to drink one too so we order another one for her. Prices have always been super affordable and portions are big. My go-to has always been Chow Fun w/ 3 sides, which would normally be Eggplant w/ Tofu, Salt Pepper Shrimp, & Braised Pork w/ Egg or the Stirfried Vegetables. My Mom and I usually eat lunch at the food court inside next to Great Wall (GW) Supermarket at The Square shopping center in Rosemead on the weekends unless we have a prior arrangement with my brothers to eat elsewhere in the San Gabriel Valley area. We normally get our foods from Golden Bull Noodle, but my Mom wanted to change it up a bit so she went to Nuoc Mia Vien Dong and got herself a Fried Chicken Rice for $6.50 (1 item plate)... such a great price! I have to say... it was a very big drumstick and very tasty & delicious indeed. Skin was crispy and dark meat was surprisingly moist. I enjoyed it very much! (my Mom shared some of her chicken with me if you're wondering... thank you Mom!) We will return for more of that scrumptiousness! They have other good food item selections... pick 1 or 2 or 3 items for a very decent price... I would eat here over Panda Express any day! I didn't order from here this time around, but I have tried their Bun Rieu in the past and it didn't disappoint. Of course, they don't beat Com Tam Kieu's Bun Rieu (my favorite), but you can't expect too much from here especially when you're paying half the price compared to other main restaurant chain prices. Consider them as cheap eats, but not cheap in a way that is negative, but cheap in a way that is the best bang for your buck! By the way, I ended up getting the Dumpling Egg Noodle Soup from Harlem's Kitchen (another favorite of ours at this food court). Staff is usually pleasant. Prices are very reasonable. So I love supporting real mom and pops like this. These are those OG, no frills, small mom and pop shops that made SGV Chinese food famous. Good, cheap and fast. I have to say it was really nice not to spend $50-$80 for a meal especially during a pandemic when some of us is not working as much also. Look at what I got for $11/$12ish total! They have an extended menu and then some pick up deli style items. I was really impressed with the Bun Rieu portions with plenty of crab meat. I been paying $12-$15 for less at other places. It's not gourmet Michelin fancy food but it's that simple comfort Asian food that is still good and an amazing value. Shops like these remind me of our parents who work 7 days a week for 12hrs a day to support our immigrant families. Let's make sure we support places like this to ensure they survive. I thought I was gonna eat only half and I end up eating the whole thing and fell into a food coma nap after! The broth is tasty with meaty crab meats and lots of tomatoes. The only thing that's missing is the shrimp paste taste and more tofu, it can definitely use more of it so I think my batch didn't have enough. They charge you more if you don't want any ice for your sugar cane juice. I got the large one with ice. This large is HUGE..it reminds me of giant slurpee cup. It's way bigger than the other sugar cane juice cups though..so you actually get more in term of quantity. Btw they also sell spring rolls and other Vietnamese fast food dishes. I love the PURE sugarcane juice from here. When I first noticed it I thought they were making pasta from afar but they were putting the fresh sugarcane through a masticator. My friend pays $8 for sugarcane juice at the farmers market and was in shock when I told her it's $3 here for a medium with ice and just recently I got a small without ice for $2! My kids also love egg rolls and they sell them for $.50 a piece. I usually get about $5 -$7 worth. They sell a lot of home cooking type of food that I recognize from my nail lady's lunches. I saw an elderly man buy a serving of bitter melon stuffed with ground pork for $2 and asked for a side of rice. It made me sad because I thought he might of been a widow or on a small budget. I just discovered that they sell the slow drip French Roast coffee ($2) and homemade mochi filled with black sesame seeds, coconut, and crushed peanuts ($2). We always get the sugarcane juice when we come here. Yes, they put a lot of ice, but most of the time the sugarcane juice is so sweet that the ice is actually good. I usually wait for it to melt a bit before drinking it. They also serve hot food that is really reasonably priced. Just recently, I tried their bun rieu, which is supposedly their best seller. For $6, it is a steal. The portion is big, and tastes great. Really nice fragrant shrimp paste smells to it. The ground meat is delicious and melts in your mouth. Nuoc Mia Vien Dong is the place to go for nuoc mía (sugarcane juice) in the San Gabriel Valley. This food court stall inside the Square Supermarket shopping center is operated by Vietnamese-Chinese who speak Vietnamese, Cantonese, and English. Although the shop serves Vietnamese staples such as pho, bún riêu, and com tam, they are fast-food versions compared to those prepared at sit-down Vietnamese restaurants. The pho broth contained MSG, the bún riêu lacked crab meat/tofu and the tomatoes are too soggy, and since 2011 the com tam no longer includes a piece of cha trung hap (steamed Vietnamese egg meatloaf). The real reason to stop by Nuoc Mia Vien Dong is for their specialty, the nuoc mía. Sugarcanes are fresh pressed on-site and the extracted juice is mixed with kumquat to balance the sweetness. The kumquat adds a tart taste to the juice. There are three sizes for the nuoc mia and an option to add ice or not. I usually order the small size with ice (~10oz). This only lasts about 10 to 15 sips since the cup is half full of ice, but it is a refreshing beverage for summer afternoons and is a healthier alternative to milk tea/Vietnamese coffee also available in the same plaza. Fun fact: Sugarcane is rich in calcium, potassium, antioxidants, and helps lower cholesterol (triglycerides). A glass of fresh sugarcane juice has on average 11 to 13% total sugar content, much lower than soft drinks and orange juice. read more

We came here specifically for the Hainan Chicken Rice from the place next door, and we noticed this place had Pho and it was only $5.50; so we decided it would be a good add-on to our chicken rice. Holy cow was that a great decision. There was a lot of Pho, and it tasted amazing. They even gave us some free hot tea which I don't think any pho restaurant we've been to has done.
