Try this mexican restaurant for the the first time and having it recommended by a few friends, we decide to give it a try. The outside was part of a shopping center. the inside had a few picture and a few pieces of art on the wall. The chip were bland and the salsa, had like a katchup taste to it, and it took awhile for our food to come out, but the fajitas were Good, Beans and rice were good. Our friends ordered the fish tacos and said, they tasted really good, and our waitress was nice and our drinks were always filled, we will be back to give it another taste test, just to make sure we didn't miss something on the menu. read more

At Macho right now and was impressed. I had the wet burrito but after I ordered I noticed a homemade tamale special and asked to get one as an appetizer. Sure! And it was muy delisioso! The wet burrito plate was really good too. I chose the carnitas and this thing was thoroughly stuffed and covered. I also had several margarita rocks and they just notified me it was happy hour and half my margarita were free! I love this place, I may never leave. read more

Pricey for Mexican food, but so totally worth every penny. I was raised in San Diego, so I have a pretty good taste for real Mexican food. For the most part, it is completely legit and absolutely delicious. They make everything homemade and you can tell the owner really actually cares about the quality of their food. Recommend 100%. We weren't sure about this place either, as the location seems unlucky. After reading YELL reviews, we decided to give it a try. The wait staff are great! It's a friendly and warm atmosphere, but casual. The chips and salsa were good, but the addition of guacamole on the side made them great. Frozen margueritas were Hugh and delish. He had the Danny Boy Fajita. It was enough to feed four, and he said that it tasted home made, but better. I had a shrimp dish, not sure if the name, but it was nice, fresh, delish, and I was served enough for one meal and three snacks. Rice and beans were better than most. We had plannd to order dessert and horchata, but were too full to consider. Flam and churros will have to wait until our next visit, which will be soon. read more

Been here a few times. Excellent wet burritos. Birria was sooo soft and delicious. I'm not sure if they make the tortillas in house but they were so light and fluffy. The top shelf margarita is to die for. Thee Horchata is a splendid combination of warm cinnamon, rice milk and just a hint of vanilla. It has a full bar and a couple of T.V.'s. Makes a great spot to hang out. They serve chips at every table with a wonderful Verde and Rojo salsa. read more

My girlfriend and I are currently on a mission to eat at every single restaraunt in Reno/Sparks, so naturally this place was on our list. First of all the service is great; our drinks were never empty, our waiter was on his game. My girlfriend ordered the macho Diablo burrito with shredded beef, it wad very good, and quite spicy as well. I ordered a ground beef chimichanga, it was very fresh, the meat was great, and I even ate the rice and beans, which I usually don't do. My husband and I went here for the first time yesterday. We loved it. I never had a complaint. And I am one picky patron at restaurants. The waitress was so attentive to our needs. I like to order carnitas at every Mexican restaurant I go to. These are by far the best I've had in a very long time! Yummy! Also their verde salsa is to die for. Once again Danny Boy did not disappoint. If you haven't eaten here, you have missed one of The Best in the area. Starting with greetings from the family staff, moving on to incredible chips with green and red salsa. Then, top shelf marguerites. We've taken visitors from out of town and when they return, this is where they want to go! Best Enchiladas, best rice...yes rice. Everything on the menu is "top Shelf". I visited on a Wednesday, loved it so much I came back on Saturday! Macho Tequila's offers authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. I was pleased with their menu that was full of variety. If you aren't up for a full plate of food with rice and beans, many items are sold a la carte. Each day they have one or two specials as well. I've had their crunchy tacos and their enchiladas. I was pleased with both of my meals. The chicken in the tacos was very flavorful and the shells were thick enough that they didn't fall apart after a few bites. The enchilada sauce was excellent. The refried beans were cooked perfectly and their rice was nice and fluffy. I've had a great customer service experience with each visit. The waitress took great care in showing interest in us, delivering food promptly, and being friendly. This locally owned restaurant wasn't very busy on a Saturday night: while I enjoyed the lack of a wait time, I hope more Reno/Sparks locals take the time to give Macho Tequila's a try. read more

I couldn't have picked a better location for my daughter's birthday. Not only was the food amazing but the service was exceptional. They followed all CoVID regulations and still having the best experience. This restaurant was clean from the tables, floors and bathrooms, this is definitely a family friendly place. What a waste of a splurge night. We ordered 3 meals and a couple of drinks. I'm not sure how it came to almost $100. We weren't given a receipt, which makes me feel like we were taken advantage of. I'm so surprised that this place got such high ratings. The food was such a disappointment, and definitely not worth $100. Their rice was boring and not regular Mexican rice. This place is a definitely a DIAMOND worth stopping by for. We're from California and it was our 1st time as a family to be roaming around the Reno area. We ended up in Sparks and decided to use Yelp to find a place to eat and that's how we found Macho Tequila's. We were greeted immediately by a beautiful young hostess with a smile. She was very helpful and made my family and I very comfortable as she did to all the other guest in the restaurant. The atmosphere was great! It was very clean, the bathroom was squeaky clean and smelled great, and the cook was cooking up a dish that smelled wonderful. Their food was THEE BEST Mexican food I've ever had! I've eaten at many venues BUT this restaurant topped it! The food wasn't greasy as many other restaurants are. The kids menus was great too! My 2yr old loved their sliders! I am totally obsessed with the food here. Everything -- from the carne asada to the chilie rellano has that extra touch that makes the food just plain amazing. Even the re-fried beans taste better than at other places. I've been here for lunch three times now, and in addition to the great food, I am always blown away by how nice and conversational the staff are. Every server we have met just comes off as a really sweet person, and they efficient about bringing out food and beverages. Haven't had Macho Tequila's food yet? What are you waiting for? I am surprised this place is not busy everytime I go there. Went once with the Living Social deal what they said Living Social got it wrong and Margarita was noti ncluded. still think I got a good deal. Went there for lunch the other day was the only customer but I had a great shrimp Taco. I think they would benefit on the menu if you could make your own "combo". I have never writen a review on YELP ever. But the food here was so good I have to let everyone know. I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants in the Reno/Sparks/Carson area and this one is my new favorite. I had the chicken enchiladas and all I can say is WOW so much flavor. I couldn't stop eating it was so good and I was so stuffed but I had to have every last bite! The waitress was very nice and personable. This place is a must if you enjoy Mexican food.
