And get a salad-- they have grape nuts and pears on them--- I get it with ranch because well, I love ranch. It's delicious. Visiting MSU and this pizza place was recommended. We stopped in on a Sunday evening around 8 and we had a short wait for a table. We ordered a Beartooth Sausage Pizza and Club House Pizza. The Beartooth had thin sliced sausage links with red pepper, onion & tomato. Sausage was better than average with good amount of spice. Would get again. The Club had seasoned chicken and bacon with tomato slices, greens tossed with ranch a sliced avocado. Hard to eat without all the toppings falling off. So I ate it as a side salad. Don't order delivery! We called 2hrs after we placed the order and the food had yet to be picked up. Our options were to cancel or go get it ourselves. The delivery person happened to pick it up while I was on the phone, so that was nice... but the pizza arrived cold. Once we warmed it up in the oven we were at least happy with how it tasted. Very busy place, but they got us right in. We started with the Thai peanut wings, they were good. The cheese logs were typical cheese sticks and so good. Probably my favorite thing. However, the waitress spilled hot Sauce in my sons eyes and did not apologize to me after I had to wash his eyes out for five minutes as he screamed .They also did not offer to comp anything after the whole ordeal. Oh yes! MacKenzie offers broccoli as a pizza topping. It's a rare find, but an amazing one! I ordered a build-your-own thin crust with broccoli, spinach and jalapenos. It was delicious! I also had the house salad with Grape-Nuts and blue cheese dressing. That was one fantastic salad. And, the lodgepoles are yummy too. Overall, the meal was the best I had in Montana. I can't give this place 5 stars though -- the beer selection was a bit light on the dark beers. They have 3 IPAs but no porters or stouts. What's up with that?! read more

As per advice from other yelpers, we tried the lodgepoles -- they were decently tasty and arrived quickly... The staff were all very nice and fairly on top of everything. Still, 3 stars because even after we were on the road all day and willing to accept even fast-food as "good food", the food here just didn't wow us. The MacKenzie River Pizza restaurant was a great example of a restaurant with great food yet horrible service. Our waitress was slow to take our orders and after about 35 minutes I began to notice that other tables around us were getting their meals. When our food finally arrived after another 15 minutes, our appetizers came out at the same time as our main course. On top of that, our waitress never refilled our waters and forgot the silverware when my salad came. The only reason that I gave this restaurant two stars instead of one was because of the food. Our server lied to my face, the food was undercooked and served at the wrong time and finally they couldn't even get the bill correctly added up when we did the math for them... Seriously. Blackbird Kitchen down the street lost our reservation, though we spoke with 2 people there to set up and confirm. So, as a party of 12, we were wandering the streets but decided to go to Mackenzie. Whilst Nick at Blackbird was aloof and kept saying "don't know what to say, we can't accommodate you," the folks at Mackenzie were friendly, empathetic and helpful. We were seated in 30 minutes, our server Amy was awesome and we feasted on 6 pizzas and torrents of beer. A wonderful evening. read more

Best gluten free pizza I've ever had! And my son and husband LOVED their cheese bread and sausage pizza. My family and I have been to one before so we had to stop here when we saw we would be going by on our trip across the states. I gave it 4 stars only because the "hostess" was horrible!! Not one smile from this tall, short-haired blond girl and she acted as if we walked in at the worst time in her working life. Thankfully we ended up having another gal be our waitress and I can't remember her name but she had long dark hair, on the shorter side, she was bubbly, sweet and totally made, what I thought would be a bad experience, a great one!! Horrible service. We came on a school night to support our children's grade school. The hostess had us waiting for 1/2 hour, never offered drinks, updates etc and while seating several other parties ahead of us.
