The beartooth sausage pizza here is delicious, as are their salads, totally yum! Every time I've downtown in Bozeman me and the fiance stop here to eat, it's one of our favorite pizza shops in Montana. The beer selection is also to die for, such great foot and atmosphere in here. read more

I appreciate that, but we had waited just over 30 minutes gor the pizza. As we were making are way up to Glacier, we didn't really have time to wait for another pizza that would probably be the same. A perpetual must-stop whenever we are in Bozeman. Salads are delicious...and huge (Taos is my favorite for a little SW flare). Love the out-west décor...a nice change for a Midwesterner. We have been to MacKenzie River many times and have always had a great experience until tonight. I don't know if it's new management or what but I would highly suggest you train your wait staff how to handle busy nights and long wait times. We waited 30 minutes for a table and your hostess was great. She offered our 2 year old crackers and water....thank you! That was so nice!! When we got to the table we got drinks and then nothing for 30 minutes. Finally our order was taken and it was another 30 minutes before we got our food. We did not see our waitress...no drink refills, no water, no apologies. It was extremely poor service. Like I said we love MacKenzie River, but will think twice before we return. read more

My family and I went there last night and although we had to wait a bit to get our order taken, the pizza was good but the crust could have been baked a bit more (it was a bit doughy). We ordered the pesto veggie pizza and a Caesar salad. The staff apologized to us for the delay in service due to lack of staff present when the restaurant got busy. For the past year I have been going here every week. After last night and this morning I will never go back. Took 20 minutes to get a server and then an hour wait just to be served cold and overdone pizza. I was then charged twice on my card, and told very unkindly that there was nothing they could do about it and the next time to just call instead of come in. I received a delivery the other day and the delivery driver was probably the best I've ever had. She was prompt, very kind, and full of smiles. I was curious if Mackenzie river offered any kind of loyalty program and she was so helpful in getting me setup with the river rewards program. I tried to order delivery through them and I was told we are outside of their delivery area. We live right off of Ferguson, so I'm a little confused. If you're going to advertise as delivering then you should probably cater to everyone. By the way we have never had a problem with other pizza deliveries in town. I'm no pizza lover but I always enjoy their Flathead pizza (thin crust)! It's the perfect combo of grilled chicken, veggies and white sauce. Every time my husband and I crave for pizza, this is top of mind for us. We usually do take out or have delivery service so I can't say much about the service but I like the vibe of the place - it's just right for a pizza joint. My hubby also loves their buffalo chicken wings - it's a dry rub version with just enough spice and it's not too greasy. I've been eating here since I was a kid, so naturally I like to keep going back. Ordered the Italian sausage lasagna, it was good but a bit too salty. We had our food delivered so it didn't look great when it showed up. I also ordered the Taos salad, I really liked this a lot, spicy but tolerable for those who don't like as much heat. I give service 5 stars, they are so helpful and fantastic. (I ordered 10/1/2012 at 630p) My theory on this place is that they are hit or miss. I've had great food here, and not so great. Date of visit: 8/31/2014 The service was passable, the server did come and take my order very quickly. the food was much of the same, i had the " Buffalo chicken Mac&Cheese" and it was ok. When ordering "Buffalo" anything i was expecting a true "buffalo" sauce, what a got was a small drizzle of Franks Red Hot sauce. The Mac&Cheese part was ok but nothing to write home about. But for 9.50 i was not impressed, i imagine that the Pizza would would be much better. The only issue i had with this place was the portion size, my Pasta came in a very shallow and small "bowl", a few large spoonfuls and the dinner was gone. so lesson learned come here to get Pizza and leave the pasta to another Italian place. read more

Delicious! This Bozeman original has all of your favorite traditional pizzas, a large variety of signature pizzas, sandwiches, pastas, salads and more. They also have a gluten free crust that is quite good. I'm not a beer drinker, but they do offer many Montana beers. The decor is pretty neat to look at, and it's not overly loud. Sometimes it takes quite a while to receive your food, but a lengthy preparation definitely reflects the quality of the food in this case. Very slow service. Pizza was good - not out of this world. I ordered the cheese ravioli and it came with over a cup of gloppy Alfredo/tomato sauce. I scraped it off and it was OK. My husband & I ordered 2 small pizza's at 6:55 pm on a Thursday night for delivery. They told us it would be an hour and 15 minutes. We live 8 minutes away. . Which in my opinion is way too long. Well we didn't get our pizzas delivered until 9:00 pm. and the pizza was COLD. We had to call twice to see where our pizza was. The funny thing abut this is the last time we ordered pizza from them, we called it in and they said it would be half hour. We went there to pick it up and had to wait over an hour to get our order, We complained and they sent us a $25.00 gift card which we used last night. I was excited to try this place for the first time. 25 minute wait, no biggie. Got to the table, was not greeted for about 10 minutes and had to ask host for waters. Server approached and took order and forgot to bring beer for about 10 minutes. No biggie. Good was decent for being a chain, largely Sysco operation!! I was happy with my meal. :) then, check came and server didn't come back to run card for about 10 more minutes , so I had a random server do it. :-( not impressed with the service, but I'll give it another shot, hopefully will be better! read more

I've been here a few times. I like the different varieties of pizza they have but unfortunately the pizza is just ok. I guess there is not alot of pizza places in Bozeman so people frequent this place but the crust never seems done enough and its just not that good. The service has been indifferent as well. On 2 occasions the server seemed to feel it a chore to refill the water glasses and it has seemed like they were not too interested in whether you had a good experience or not. Service here is really great, as well as the decor and vibe. All the staff is attentive, great waitstaff. However, I only give it an "okay" rating because the pizza is average. It wasn't that delicious. The topping options are great and seem tasty, but the pizza itself wasn't spectacular at all. I like the atmosphere better than the pizza. That's not to suggest the pies are tasty, they're good, just not jump up and down pizza good. I've also been to MacKenzie River Pizza Co in Missoula, and the taste was consistent. I appreciate that for multiple location restaurants. The beer selection is okay - was hoping for a bit more, but better than many. Our server, on the most recent visit, never brought me one of my beers, and after he realized it, he offered a complimentary beer. That was excellent service and honesty on his part. Maybe not the best pizza in the world but a nice location in downtown Bozeman. Nice local micro brews, I had a delicious Porter and my wife an Ale. We split a Flat Head Pizza (fajita chicken, bacon, mushrooms, spinich with an alfredo sauce) on a thin crust which was pleasent. I only wish they had a wood oven to get the crust a little better. I've tried to dine at this establishment twice in the past month because it smells so darn good walking by. Unfortunately both times I tried, after being sat down by the hostess, I waited at least ten minutes for the waitress to stop by and take my order, offer me a drink, anything! I watched her refill drinks, clear plates off tables... but never got waited on, either time. Ended up walking out. Don't quite understand, but I'm done trying.
