You can sample any of the beers before committing to one; they'll even crack open one of the canned drinks if you wanted a taste! It's a frequent spot for my husband and I. Everyone there is helpful and friendly. We love the atmosphere. Some people come and play darts, some play cornhole, some play board games, some bring their kids and pups. Pizza's great and we also recommend the fougasse with beer cheese. We love a lot of their beers but I'm obsessed with their most recent sour, Saticoy Sour. Really refreshing on a hot day. I really hope they keep it going because it's my favorite. 10/10 establishment. As for parking, we usually have luck on Bessemer Street near Kester and just walk a bit of our pizza and beers off. A dope local spot for drinks; carpool if you want any chance at parking! Some of the best local beer can be purchased at this dope, low key, and overall affordable bar. Service is great, there are fun games (like darts), selection is awesome, food is actually good (top notch for a bar) and it's pretty spacious as well. Now for the downsides: parking sucks. It is kind of hidden in an industrial part of town already littered with competitive parking for local residents as well as all these mechanic shops and other places with excess of vehicles on the street at all times. I strongly recommend that you ride share, especially since you are probably not going to end up walking around nearby. (It's several blocks from Van Nuys Blvd unfortunately) Despite the parking, I've never had a bad time here once I've been seated. There was plenty of space for us to have our own room and for other patrons to enjoy the other parts of the brewery. All our guests enjoyed themselves and the delightful array of delicious beer styles from across the British Isles. And the owner was so sweet and went out of his way to come introduce himself and chat with us. MacLeod Ale Brewing is unabashedly my favorite place to grab a beer. My wife and friends and I love that you can sit outside, play games, have kids or pets, eat free peanuts, and enjoy what are the best craft beers I've had in a long time. Yeah, I am a fan of IPAs and hops, but I don't want to have a palate blow-out every time I drink a beer. The cask brews here are something very special. They are soft, delicious, and absolutely fantastic. I honestly find myself making excuses to come over here. The Little Spree, Golden Ring, and Kings Taxes are all fantastic choices, and I'm sure I will try more winners in the future. Oh, and Van Ice? What's not to like? Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (which is a rarity for this part of the Valley), great beer that is made in house and plenty of food options that are meant to appeal to everyone (Vegans included). They often have special events happening throughout the year which you can be notified about via their text chain (sometimes coupons are included as well). Good beer, bad promises. I'm trying to like this place a lot, but every time they text me a promotional offer like $6 cheese pizza ("all day" they say) and I plan my dinner around it, they run out and there are long lines. Not only do they run out of not just the "all day" $6 pizza at 6:30pm, but all pizzas. And the wait to get food gets intolerable. I waited 40 minutes for the consolation meatballs tonight. Every time I've gotten a text about "$1 kick the keg" and I get there in 20 minutes, the beer is gone. I feel like Charlie Brown having Lucy yank the football away from him every time he tries to kick it. I have decided I am no longer acting on these promotions. It's not worth it. They seem like a come-on to sell you on standard price items. They have very good beer and excellent pizza, but getting suckered by these promotions that run out each and every time I get there leaves a bad taste. I try to support these guys because I know they've sent texts before about fighting to stay in business and going through hard times, but man they make it so difficult sometimes. read more

Literally back for the second time this week I can't stay away from this place it's relaxed and chill they had the most fun atmosphere a great music and of course the best pizza I've had in the valley. My favourite is the hot Italian I get it with mushrooms and I ask for extra crispy. They also have an exceptional house made ranch dipping sauce which is perfect. I also like the taste tester is there a beer which is brewed on site called flight pack which is four of their beers!!. Honestly if you go anywhere in the valley for food try this place the atmosphere is amazing so is the pizza. I want to try another pizza besides a hot Italian but I can't stop ordering this one I guess when I get sick of it I'll finally order some thing else here but it's too good. ATTENTION PARENTS: this place is a miracle. When adults want to hang unbothered and have a few beers outside, kids can play in the area with corn hole and a black chalk wall and giant jenga where mom or dad can keep one eye on them. When we've gone early on Friday evenings or weekend afternoons, there are always a bunch of kids for our kids to make friends with. I love their cheese board but every time I've ordered it, it comes out after the pizzas for some reason so be flexible about timing. Pizzas are pretty good too.
