I went to macys to exchange a cologne my girlfriend had given me. the girl at the counter was very un proffesional and offered no help. immedietly stating that my unopened cologne was missing a sticker on the bottom and was m3 years old??? I explained I just got it last year for christmas. I asked to speak with the manager and she was worse than the counter person. The store Manager was rude and loud. I left with my cologne and will never purchase at Macys again. All I wanted was to exchange and purchase a new cologne that was more expensive and they would not help me. What happened to this store? I walked in to Macy's this morning looking to buy a suit for my nieces wedding. I walked around the men's department for about 15 minutes. They were not busy by any means. I walked up to a consultant and said I wanted to buy a suit. What kind he asked. I said a black one. Do you know what brand you want he said. I said what do you suggest. He said Calvin Klein. I said can you show me. He pointed to the area. It said Calvin Klein but that's not what was in that rack. Worst customer service had gift card from which I got for Christmas tried to use it today and cashier tells me it's been used twice but never used it till now the silver box was never scratched of till she scratched it off. She then tells me also the card number doesn't exist really the gift card says Macy's on it I even told you just told me it's been used already and now the number doesn't exist so which is has been used or is not a Macy's gift card I even had the receipt showing it's your gift card it even has the matching card number on the back and then she tells me it doesn't matter it's been used so I asked her has been used or is it the number exist she can't even make up her which one it is. SUPER RUDE SERVICE. A friend and I came in to take a look at the makeup and my friend was looking for a lipstick in a shade similar to one they did not have in stores and the girl that helped her did not seem interested in helping at all and rudely said "well I don't know what the other shade looks like..." okay well could you at least give her some suggestions? She could've been like "can I see what it looks like?" The way you speak to a customer makes a huge difference and that's something these employees need to remember. read more

I went to the watch case inside of Macy's to get my watch sized but Francis was unable to do the size for me so I had to go to the watch repair for a simple sizing of my watch in which I had to pay for the sizing which should have been complimentary considering I brought my receipt with me for the watch. But, one of them was really some kind of special, because she couldn't figure out how to use the security tag remover. i hardly ever shop at macy's, i'm more of a nordie fan. this review is only about the handbags department. i was shopping for a mother's day gift and i found this cute little bag. it did not have a tag on it, so i brought it to the counter to ask one of the sales lady.... me: hi there, could you do a price check for me? there's no price tag. bitchy: (not sure, but....) SHORE....(shuffling, opening zippers, etc....) me: smiling and jokingly said, "does that mean it's free?" bitchy: uh reallll funny, AND that's just stoooPid (i swear she had spit coming out of her mouth saying stupid, and waddled off to the back where the store room is) and while she's walking away she hollered, "i'll be right back." WTF???? god must have telepathically sent TWO valium pills to suppress me coz i SWEAR!!!! IF i poked bitchy gently with my safety pin, ANYWHERE, on her body, she would have quickly ascended into air and then plopped back down to earth like a glob of pooo. BLOODY HELL, what have i done to deserve to be on the receiving end of this menopausal woman?!!!! i don't have anything against the obese, BUT hey if you want to play nastayyyyy! i love to play dirty, i was raised playing in mud at the farm. I made an appointment at MAC to have my make up done for a birthday party I was going to. A special occasion calls for looking your best and I wanted to have my eye make up done since I never wear make up and have read so many good reviews about MAC. I was a little shocked by the minimum $50.00 purchase to have the appointment. I figured why not splurge on some brushes and eye shadow so I can update my look. I went to my appointment and was introduced to my make up artist right away. Her eye make up looked great. A very pretty green, very spring inspired, just the look I was going for. After a little consult to talk about the look I was going for she started my eyes. I wanted something to contrast my blue top and asking for purple eyeshadow. What I got was more of a plum. So I asked If we could start over. She gave me a little bit of attitude saying '"you said you wanted purple". I figure if I'm spending $50.00 then I should be happy with what I get. Also, I asked if she could do a smokey eye but, not with black or brown. I wanted shimmery translucent colors with definition around the lashes. The reply I got was that won't work with your eye shape! Umm, not the answer I wanted to hear and are you a make up artist or not? I started thinking I should have taken the time to find a real makeup artist who would have made the experience more positive. We started over and went with a pink instead. Very pretty and I was happy with the color. Half was through the application my eyes started burning and kept watering. My eyes teared and when I closed them they burned really badly. After about an hour my session was over. I picked up a brush, a lipstick, a lip gloss and the false lashes they put on me. My bill was $86.00! So I left without any eye make up which was the original reason for the visit to MAC and guess what my eyes continued to water all night long. After about 4 hours my lids were creased, the color looked crusty and I tried to rub it off but, it was impossible. I could not wait to get home to wash my face. Guess MAC eyeshadow is not for people with sensitive eyes. read more

This review is specifically for the Clinique Counter. First, I have been going to this specific counter for many years, and I've never had a bad experience. I prefer buying my makeup and skincare stuff in person so I can get first hand help. This time however, I went in on a busy day, and there were only two people behind the counter. I reach the front and ask for a variety of products. I wanted to make two separate transactions because one of them was my daughter's transactions. The lady started scanning, and so I let her know they were going to be two separate transactions. She didn't respond to me so I repeated, thinking she hadn't heard me over the loud noise. Yet again she didn't respond. So I let her know once more, and she turns around quickly and angrily, and says "I know I heard. I said yes." Of course I got mad because it would've just been better if she calmly told me that she heard me instead of being angry. I've worked many years in retail, and this behavior is not acceptable. She continues the transactions and keeps making remarks such as "I am not deaf.", etc. She then offers me a Macy's card, and gets more furious when I tell her I do not want it, and I will be paying with my debit card. I had enough, and so I cancel the transaction and leave. I think it's safe to say that if you do not have the patience to work with customers, then you shouldn't be working behind a counter. People come to ask for help, and I just think it's horrible that these employees do not respect this. I will not be buying here again. read more

i dont feel that this "macys" is a macys at all! i don't even consider it a department store. time and time again, they have ruined every opportunity they had to restore their customer service and professionalism kudos. My last two trips here really sent me over the edge and even if i have to drive further to another department store to pick up something small..... it is now worth it! 2 weeks ago, i went in to return two watches that I have purchased on macys.com. i originally bought three but was indecisive to which one i really liked since i couldnt really try them on. i went in pretty early so that i can knock out my errands list early as well. The lady that was at the watch counter was finishing up with another lady so i stood in line and waited for her to finish. The employee finished, glanced at me... maybe saw that i had a return, im not sure, and went on to rearrange some watches in the display. I KID YOU NOT! this really happened! then...another customer at the other end of the watch display asked for help and the employee went over to help her! I'm not saying i deserve VIP service, but i was waiting first. and although that transaction took but a minute before i made her realize i was still waiting, but it was really the customer experience there. and when she finally did my return, she made me feel soooo horrible because it was a little under a thousand dollars worth of returns made, and i guess that impacts her sales?! rude. my last trip there was actually just a few days ago. I went in to purchase a perfume for a Christmas gift and as I waited at the counter, two other customers were helped before me, even though I was there first. And after those two customer, the ladies behind the counters started giggling and talking to each other in another language. I finally AHEMED and got their attention and when the lady came out from behind the counter, the first thing i noticed was that she was wearing a SHORT TIGHT BLACK SHIRT with her gut VERY APPARENTLY hanging out (and i mean like.. I SAW HER TUMMY!!!)... NOT professional. in fact, it was not only unprofessional, it was gross. macys serramonte... get it together! your employees are not only rude and not presentable, but the store itself is ALWAYS a mess. ugh! read more

I won't go back here to get my make up done ever again. Lets start with i made an appointment they made me wait 30 mins before I got into a chair. Then The "make up artist" (s) (farthest thing from that) didn't listen to anything that I asked for, not to mention I had three people handing me off. Only the first girl truly seemed professional and caring, but the "manger" said she had to go on break after she was already assigned to me. As far as the manger ( the 3rd girl that did my make up) who saw that I was completely unhappy with my final look could careless. Their mascara; oh how I LOVE plumping my eye lashes (bc I can't stand glue & fake lashes).. And their juicy kissable lip glosses that makes the young jail baits and old pervs say "hey".. I think this is the worst Macys near me. They have the worst selection of things... the shoe department is pretty tiny and so are the other departments. I never really find anything here... if you want selection, I'd say you are way better off going to the Union Square location. Workers seem to be missing when you need help to find things as well. The only reason I come here is to restock on Clinique. read more

It's difficult shopping here when the clear alternative is sitting on the south side of Union Square. The shopping experience at this Macy's location simply isn't the same. With this MAC counter it's a hit or a miss. Depending on what time of the day you go customer service varies. Obviously when its peak hours at the mall it's going to be crazy packed so don't expect to be approached (that will be your job). I would recommend going in the morning, basically anytime before 12 because there is usually little to no people there during these times. That way, you can have all your questions answered and hopefully walk out feeling confident about your purchase. What I would not recommend is getting a shade match at this MAC. The lighting here is horrible! How in the world can you expect to get matched to the right shade for your skin under florescent lighting?!?! With low lighting, you are going to look a bit darker than you naturally are.. So that means when you are outside, your face ain't gonna match your the rest of your body! I came here to get matched to a liquid concealer and the guy used NW on me. At the time it looked like a good match (due to the lighting). So the next day I used my newly bought concealer and oh man... What a disaster! I don't know how I didn't notice before I left the house but I looked like a straight up oompa loompa! I was about five minutes away from campus.. At a stop light so I decided to glance at myself in the mirror. I was horrified because I had to go to class looking like I was wearing an orange mask. I immediately went back after class to exchange this for the correct shade. The girl who helped me this time took me outside into the mall (where there is natural lighting) to see exactly what the problem was. Just by doing that, it solved my problem. She took a couple of shades and we went outside into the mall area again to test them out on my skin to ensure I didn't leave with the wrong one. This isn't the first time I have had issues at this MAC counter but hopefully it will be the last. With all that being said, I would recommend coming here only if you know what you getting beforehand. This is not a good place to browse around and make those unexpected purchases. read more

Bought 7 items and the person who ring my order up forgot to put one of the item in the bag. Came back for it after two days because I was working all day Sunday. Monday first thing the open I ask for the missing item the lady ask the camera man to check then ask for Manager it took a 2 hours for them to replace the missing item. Tip next time you buy from them make sure you check your item if they give them all. read more

Love their recyclables reward program, if you are unfamiliar, you bring in 6 empty Mac products and receive a free lipstick. None of the casings have to be the same, for example, I brought in 3 foundations, 2 misting spray bottles and a SPF container. Walking out with a sexy red that is to die for!!! I purchased at Macy's 3 times with my Macy's credit card last year2020. I was waiting for the statements because I want to paid my bill before it due, but I never got the statement. I got the first letter which was from Collections Department (Citibank) at 1/25/2021. And my husband called in and wanted to paid by phone. He couldn't because it needs the cardholder myself to do it. Then my husband went to the store at Serramonte Center to pay the total amount$176.99. I got another letter from Macy's which is regarding interest charge $3.09 after about a week. (Actually the interest charged transaction date is 1/29/2021). I sent a check with $3.09 to them the next day. I am so upset that Macy's haven't sent a statement to me for the payment and after a few months, they charge the interest. That's why I called to cancel my Macy's credit card today. (I wanted to wait until they cash my $3.09 check first to make sure my amount balance is $0.00, then I called to cancel the credit card) I won't be their customer anymore because I don't want to pay the extra interest anymore. Also, while I asked the Macy's customer service why they did not sent me the statement? Macy's won't send out any statement? The person didn't answer my questions. If I could I would like to give 0 start. Be careful,if you are a Macy's cardholder. read more

I've only returned two items over the past 15 years I've been shopping with Macy's. I've just tried to return a carry on luggage case that's I've only used once and I was denied because there were two small scratches on it. I told the representative I don't mind getting credit and exchanging for the same one because I'm only unhappy with it because the wheels won't roll straight. She still refuses. If I could leave zero stars for this location I would. Every time I have come into this Macy's they are understaffed and rude. My most recent experience, for example: my partner and I had been waiting for help in the jewelry section for about 20 minutes. We were completely ignored by the only sales associate working the section for several minutes, despite waiting at the counter she was working for. When she finally acknowledged us it was to let us know that she was going to help another customer (who was nowhere in sight). We waited another 10 minutes at the counter and decided to go to the Macy's in Stonestown. Needless to say, I've given this location too many chances for the lack of service in return and will not be coming back. read more

This review is only for the watch repair center in Macy's. Although I didn't use their service, I have to write about the wonderful worker, perhaps manager at the watch repair center. I was looking to send out a letter and forgot to bring a pen to write the sender's address on the envelope. I went in asking if I could borrow a pen, and the gentleman working was super helpful. There wasn't a sense of "oh no, I'm not going to help you since you're not even having your watch repaired here", which sometimes you do a get a sense of if you're not supporting the business. While I was using the pen, he remembered they had just received a bunch of Sears Watch Repair pens from a location that had recently closed down. He offered me one and told me to keep it. I was a bit taken back and shocked and of course grateful. He stood there waiting for me to finish, and asked what else he could help me with. The reason I wanted to write this review for this incident is because you don't really meet a lot of people nowadays that go above and beyond and give that genuine sense of really wanting to help...so thank you to the guy at the watch repair shop! read more
