    Macy's at 10:13am

Wow.. I practically grew up in this store. Mind you growing up in Brooklyn, we did shop Macy*s in Kings Plaza; back in the day shopping at that mall was a treat. However, when my mom took my sis and I to 34th Street, Herald Square, we knew mom was going to drop serious dollars. It really didn't matter what the occasion, we shopped until we dropped! Need new school clothes, attending a wedding, new shoes, buying a gift well it was off to Herald Square. We usually took the Command Bus, another treat, to the store. Of course the windows were the real showstoppers! My love affair with DKNY started right here, Donna had several windows dedicated to her clothing. The Arcade was where all the new trendy items were. The Arcade was themed oriented thus, if cross body bags were the rage, then Arcade showcased it. The first floor was a Main Event in itself: The Fragrance counter was another stop: Chanel No. 5 for mom, DKNY for me and my sister loved Gucci. Cosmetics was another must, especially mom who loves Estée Lauder and gift with purchase! The jewelry! I bought a really beautiful ring with my Stars Reward card. Every year, new hat and scarf and let's not even talk about the handbag section.. dangerous indeed! You guessed it: DKNY all the way! We always ate lunch inside Macy's, PJ Clarke's was the place! "A branch of the historic P.J. Clarke's saloon was located in the Cellar at Macy's Herald Square in the late 1970s and 1980s, serving their classic burgers and tavern fare. " The Cellar was a fave of my mom from gourmet food, housewares, gifting, you name it. I remember riding those wooden escalators down and being afraid of getting my shoes stuck and being flung into the Children's Department. Finally, Christmas was a definite stop because of the beauty of the city and walking to Rockefeller Center to admire the tree! Mom always did her gift giving from Macy's and got them gift wrapped. As I reflect today, visiting to exchange.. you guessed it DKNY items purchased online.. I always thought of Macy's as this mammoth building where you climbed floor after floor, entering a maze of clothes, fitting rooms, restrooms and the excitement of shopping and schlepping the brown Macy's shopping bags back to Brooklyn. As I've grown very fond of e-commerce, the need to shop here has sadly diminished. I often wonder what's to become of Macy's and other department stores? They may come and go but I will always cherish my memories shopping with my mom."Mon, can I get this?" " Mom, what do you think of this dress?" After schlepping bags back to Brooklyn, the lasting memory is my dad asking, Ladies, how much clothes do you really need?" "We are going to have to sell the house and move to a bigger house!" Thanks, dad!

We stopped by Macy's during one of our sightseeing walks to check out the historic wooden escalator still operating on the upper floors. The sound was unlike anything we've witnessed and I've included video to try to capture the experience. The store facade is lovely and we enjoyed meandering around inside. Quite a contrast between the modern and historic aspects with both interior and exterior. Worth a visit!

World Cup fever is on around the world. The game is starting in under thirty minutes. Macy's is also festooned with a ball and a wall of heavy hitters like Ronaldo, Pele, Messi & Maradona.

I had a really great experience at Macy's in Herald Square. The store has so much to choose from, whether you're looking for clothes, shoes, beauty products, or home items. The bedding section on the 6th floor is especially nice and has a lot of options to look through. I ended up buying a Carter Club duvet, and I'm honestly so happy with it. It's beautiful, feels perfect for this season, and the quality is excellent. The original price was $225, but with the 60% off sale I paid $90 plus tax, which felt like an amazing deal. I also want to give a big shoutout to Marcial, the manager of the bedding department. He was incredibly helpful and patient, and his customer service really made the whole experience even better. It's always nice when someone goes out of their way to make sure you find exactly what you need. Overall, I left very happy with my purchase and the service I received.

Macy's Department Store, 151 W 34th St - This department store is a true New York icon, and visiting it is an experience in itself. The huge selection of fashion brands, accessories, and gifts spans multiple floors and is well organized. I like the combination of the building's historical significance with a modern shopping experience. Even though it's often crowded, shopping here has a special atmosphere, and you can feel the long tradition of this place.

This Macy's is a must-see if you happen to be in Manhattan. It's huge and crowded. I loved the cosmetics section, an entire ground level carrying all the best brands like Chanel, La Mer, La Prairie and Sisley to name just a handful. It's high energy, bustling busy. There were products inside that you can't find on their website. Their Christmas window displays were fantastic. Great store.

One of the best holiday attractions in NYC has to be the Christmas and holiday window displays at the various department stores throughout the city. Tourists aren't the only ones who can enjoy these festive showcases at Herald Square and Fifth Avenue--even for locals, they hold a dreamy nostalgia that only comes once a year. Situated at Herald Square along Broadway between 34th and 35th Streets, Macy's offers free, magical, and nostalgic holiday cheer for visitors called The Most Wonderful Stories Start Here," looking back at Macy's heritage until January 2. This block-long display takes us into a greatest-hits tour of Macy's legendary "firsts": the first Santa it ever hired, the first window displays back in 1874, the first Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, and even a nod to "Miracle on 34th Street." My partner and I saw them yesterday morning, and it was manageable. The best tip is to go on weekdays or late nights to avoid crowds.

New Christmas tree bought on line during an after Christmas sale. I love the Macy's App.

This review is not for the store itself. It still holds traumatic memories of trying to keep up with my son when he was young. I'll never recover from the myriad in which an elementary school aged child can explore from section to section causing Mom to have "heart failure" while trying to locate him. My favorite Macy's was in Downtown Brooklyn, which sadly closed this year. My compliments are for the corporate office, located in the same building. I love, love, love the ability to shop from all the Macy's stores across the country through the Macy's App. It's fun to check the shipping address on a package to see which store it came from. Should your purchase not fit or be what you had been expecting, a free return can be scheduled. A UPS tag is printed & the packaged product taken to a local UPS Store, Periodic text messages for sales, some only lasting for a day, allow you to peruse and find items on your "to get" list at a great price, My favorite Blue Jeans brand is a Macy's store brand. They always fit perfectly. My beauty & makeup are always purchased when they have a sale on that product class. The Christmas Tree my family had for decades fell last year, making it unstable. Since my husband died my son had always put up the tree at Thanksgiving & come back from Brooklyn in February to take it down. The late 80's era tree was stored in my attic & was difficult to bring downstairs & assemble. During a Christmas visit to Brooklyn last year a push notification came through for a sale on Christmas Trees. The perfect tree came up in the search at an enormously discounted price. When I showed my son, he stood over my shoulder until he was sure I had ordered it. If you've bought at a specified cumulative level during the year shipping is free, even for heavy items like my tree & the china that I use on a daily basis. Macy's is a source for Christmas & Birthday present shopping. Those who wear unusual sizes, such as a very small size shoe, can find wonderful bargains . Unsold store inventory can be a great source for these items. It's a win, win situation for both the store and the customer. Thank you Macy's management for creating such a convenient & well stocked shopping choice.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade started in 1924 as the "Macy's Christmas Parade," a celebration organized by employees to kick off the holiday shopping season. It has since evolved into a cherished national tradition featuring massive character balloons, elaborate floats, and live performances. To kick off the official Christmas holiday shopping season of 2025. Enclosed are photos, with review below. I have posted a photo of the side of Macy's on Sixth Avenue and 35th street Christmas decorations are underway on 11/18/25 at 12am. The best time to see Macy's elaborate Christmas lights, and display is late at night. 11/29/25 Photo showing the holiday gridlock. Crowded streets, people running in and out of traffic, creating a logistical nightmare with enormous crowds of people. Traffic is at a standstill. It will take over an hour just to go 1-2 miles in the tourist sections. Please do not park on any of the streets in Herald Square or you maybe paying hefty fees for a parking, and windshield boot. To avoid all of that, I ordered last minute holiday decor online. Don't believe in shopping on Black Friday, nor will I go out, and be uncomfortable amongst crowds of people pushing and shoving for a small discount. Ordered (3) 4.5ft tall pencil Christmas trees ($25 each) to go on top of my counter in my sitting area. Wanted to do something a little different this year. Was inspired by the holiday decor window display. This year my colors will be green. Ordered these trees online on Saturday, to be delivered to my home. Have no plans to enter into a retail store until after the New Year when everything is on sale! Thank goodness did not wait until cyber Monday the tree's will be higher which is not a real sale. But these are the games retailers play during the holidays. Service online is perfect, the value is great, don't have to leave my home. Best shopping experience ever!

The store is enormous -- you can easily spend hours exploring all the floors, brands, and departments. It feels like a mix of classic New York charm and a modern shopping experience, with everything from high-end fashion to everyday essentials. The building itself is beautiful and full of history, which adds to the experience. The selection is amazing, the displays are well organized, and it's easy to find something for every style and budget. I really appreciated how helpful the staff was -- friendly, knowledgeable, and always available to point us in the right direction, even with the store being so busy. Whether you're shopping, browsing, or just wanting to experience one of NYC's most famous landmarks, Macy's is absolutely worth the visit. A must-see stop in Manhattan and definitely a place I'd return to!

This store was huge! So many levels of stuff to buy!! It was cool to walk through! The employees were super nice!!

Macy's Herald Square is such an iconic part of New York City. The store is massive and beautifully organized, with each floor dedicated to a specific department, which makes navigating easy. The first floor is always crowded and is mostly jewelry, fragrances, and designer bags, and the upper levels have everything from women's and mens to kids' and baby clothing. They also go all out with their holiday decorations, which makes visiting during the season feel magical. That said, I do not recommend going on Black Friday you can barely walk!! It gets insanely crowded to the point where you can't really shop comfortably. Prices can be on the higher side, but Macy's does run really good sales from time to time. Overall, it's a classic New York shopping experience that is worth stopping by at least once!

It's that time of year again. Although already bought all my holiday gifts, did need a new belt for myself this week, considering I successfully lost some weight. Going into big stores, dealing with finding what you want and then paying for it at a register is too much for me - and that's everyday at Macy's, let alone this season. Rarely make it to check what Macy's has because this historic flagship store is so huge it's just not enjoyable for me. To the rescue, shopping at Macy's Online for in-store pick up at their 8th Avenue Online Pick-up service! Was able to get it with their 50% early Black Friday sale. Order received before 11 AM, ready for pick up 11:46 AM. Dropped by in the afternoon. When I got in line, someone scanned me in. About 5 minutes later, my name was called! Good to go! And exit! Excellent! Big thanks! Also, checked out for the first time the balloons being inflated for the parade tomorrow. Their Thanksgiving parade was a big thing when I was little. Fun to watch all the kids marvel at the balloons! As a Toys "R" Us alum, glad at least it somehow continues to operate as a brand at Macy's - although no need these days for me to check out the selection at store. (And nice not to have to work in store on Black Friday, as all employees were obligated to!) My favorite balloon this year is the Pillsbury Doughboy! Anyway, if you're adverse to shopping in person at Macy's, at least consider online with in store pickup here!!!

I purchased a white vegan leather jacket from your brand at the soho location. Shockingly, the material has begun to discolor and turn black, rendering it completely unwearable. When I reached out for support, I experienced an incredibly frustrating "ping-pong" effect: the Soho store told me to call customer service, and customer service directed me right back to the Soho store. No one was willing to take ownership or provide a solution. For a luxury brand with premium pricing, this dismissive attitude toward customer loyalty is unacceptable. Product defects can happen, but your current policies and customer care framework fail to support the people who keep your business running. I have noticed your merchandise lagging on the floors of major retailers like Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue--and frankly, this unhelpful approach to customer service is likely a driving factor. Until Alice + Olivia improves its quality standards and institutes a policy that actually protects consumers when items go bad, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I will also be sharing this experience with my network to warn others against buying from a brand that does not value its dedicated customer base. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and work to improve your customer support infrastructure. Sincerely, Dr. Estupinan
