First-time Yelp reviewer (shows how important this is). I ordered a watch online and when I went to pick it up, they told me they had just given it to the wrong customer. Fair enough, everyone makes mistakes. They said they had another one in stock, but couldn't give it to me because they had to wait for the other one to be returned. What in the world? I wanted to cancel my order and just try again at another store, but they will not give me a refund! I've waited at the store, left, and called them after a while of not hearing anything, and it's the same general answer every time: we're waiting for the system to process the item." Please just refund my money! They are holding my transaction hostage and I can't get a hold of anyone for the refund. This is absolute thievery. Customer service is everything even if the store isn't crowded... while at the Mac counter in Macy's no one was there but myself and the associate at approx 10:30am l let her know l was looking for a certain nude lipstick and she eventually showed me a dark brown lipstick in place of the one l was looking for... l let her know that's far off and she said well here are all the lipsticks when you find one let me know... l continued looking however l was not happy that she didn't seem to want to assist me.... about 4 min later a group of women came up and she quickly attended to them with no problem.. I haven't stepped in here for a few years until last Saturday when I took my friends in here to buy some purses and shoes. We headed to the purse department first, there were no customer except two sales ladies talking to each other. My friends wanted to check out the Coach purses inside the Coach counter, so we went to ask for help. But the younger sales lady was more interested in chatting with her coworker than talking to the customers, and she barely even turned her head as we stood by. We were able to get the older sales lady's help but you can tell she didn't enjoy doing that. My friends commented as how can one be so confident with one's job in today's economy, and one said thoughtfully, "do you get tenured in a department store?" That got me laughing, you see they are college professors. I said I don't know, because I don't buy purses every month, so I have no idea how the purse ppl advance in their career. I don't know why I said that because there is no correlation between these two events. I guess I wanted them to know that I don't buy purses that often. In order to sell purses, one has to like the purses enough to be able to talk about them all day, otherwise it's a quite boring job. As I'm writing this, I have an "epiphany", I should have been a purse sales lady, because I do like purses. I think I made my friends realized that brand isn't everything, so they didn't buy any Coach bag in the end. They didn't feel great about the $300 tag and the general amibance of the purse department. I told them don't feel bad, because I haven't boarded the Coach train myself. I think SOME sales ppl adjust their approach based on how are the customers attired, since I don't put much effort in that, so most of the time, right off the bat, I'm deemed unworthy of their time. But I don't think this is being the case today, they simply don't give a rat ass about how the customers perceive them. We were lucky at the shoes department, because one of my friends got a nice pair of dress shoes without much exertion. My friend was quite pleased with the purchase, and I felt mission accomplished somewhat so I really appreciate the help from the young sales lady. This is a very sad Macy's. Literally, it makes me sad. The Women's Shoe Department is dark and dreary and never stocked with the latest shoes. Who is the buyer here? Yuck. The women's apparel is another disappointment. No notable designer brands. I happened to catch a Rachel Roy dress on the clearance rack but the cashier told me they don't carry the brand, but the Del Amo location does. Seriously worst service ever. I was trying on a dress and no one offered to help it was 10 Minutes before closing. Because no one offered to help it took me longer to find dressing room and try it on. They said they were closing but didn't make it clear to anyone all registers closed at 7pm. Once I finally found a checkout everyone Rudely said Um we made announcements were closed now and you can't buy anything. I wasn't the only surprised one since about 8 other people were trying to find an open checkout. Not only is it bad customer service it's also bad business. The store lost a lot of sales from customers because hey couldn't bother to have even one register open slightly after closing to help the last customers. Turns out she went to find her scanner to see if they were in stock but sheesh, she could've said something to let me know. What a rude encounter. After telling me which shoes they had available she told (didn't ask) me to put back all the shoes where they belonged. Hmmn, since when do customers do the sales person job? I feel as though every experience I have with Macy's is horrific. They are never any reps on the floor to help people purchase items in store (I walked around this luggage department for about 10 minutes before I decided to leave and just shop online), the store clerks do not seem educated on the products and policies nor are they willing to go above and beyond to help (the blank stare is the worst). I constantly find myself wanting the level of Nordstrom Customer Service, which I haven't received here. While Nordy's may be more expensive, I don't leave with a hernia. 10 thumbs down. read more

I visit this location frequently because it is one of only a few that carries Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics . In the past Debbie was the Pro in that department. Great product knowledge and great people skills. She recently moved to Men's fragrances. I was afraid the Elizabeth Arden section wouldn't be good without her, but I was pleasantly surprised by the new person working that area. Her name is Cynthia B. And she is kind, helpful, and knows the inventory well. She Is also a great representative of the store. A lovely asset to the Macy's family. Welcome Cynthia! read more

I went to the store here about 2-3 weeks ago. This was my first time going to Macy's. My son grabbed a shirt from a rack that had a sale sign. When I went to pay the shirt rang up for a higher price. I informed the cashier and she said it must have been put on the wrong rack and the sale price was listed on each shirt and if it didn't have a sticker with the price then it was not part of the sale. I told her that nothing on that rack had a price with the sales price on it and that the actual sign did not say "Marked as Price". She still did not honor the price and just said it was an error. She called over the Manager and he pretty much backed her up even though again there was no other sign on the rack... This is false advertising. :( read more

Sales rep ordered the wrong size bed frame, and this incorrect item was delivered to me twice, so both times I had to refuse the item. Only the sales rep that sold you the item can fix the order, and he doesn't call back. When I went to see the sales rep in person, he refused to cancel the item. (I wanted to cancel the item, because he didn't want to do an exchange. Instead, he wanted me to charge my credit card for a SECOND bed frame that was hopefully the correct size and get it delivered successfully before refunding me for the first bed frame.
