Mad Beach has been a go to from my first visit to the area. The gluten free options are tough to pass up. This year I opted for the boneless wings to go. They are so good it's hard to believe they are gluten free. My daughter had the burger and tots. The ambiance is also great. Games are indoor if you want to visit on a rainy day. Mosey'd in on a Thursday afternoon to grab a quick drink/bite. Place is located up a flight of stairs. It's a huge spot though! No bartender behind the bar, she was waiting tables throughout the restaurant while we were dining. A little weird to not have a full time bartender though...a huge attitude too. Great food and beer. Came here for lunch on a recon mission for dinner. Got a flight of beers and peel n eat shrimp. Service was great. Beer and shrimp great. Brought the rest of the family in for dinner. We ordered two flights. Very good beer. Ordered several apps which were all excellent. Had to try the cheese and Chong burger and it's now in my top 5 burgers of all time. Also had the popcorn shrimp meal. Pretty sure they were frozen breaded shrimp which was a bit of a downer. The service was good and the food was just ok I took a look around and realized they don't COOK anything here I saw a family entire meal and it's all pre cooked guy got a buffalo chicken sandwich it was a Tyson spicy chicken patty they do cook the burgers but it's small they offer double but of course at a extra price this is a tourist trap kind of place so if your looking for REAL food this isn't for you.but the blueberry cider was great and they have an awesome beer selection,I just wish the prices matched the product I paid 16 dollars for popcorn shrimp and I got a small side cup of shrimp looked like a kids meal the only fresh shrimp they have are the coconut shrimp and you get 6 for again 16 dollars sad disposable plates.but after all its those inflated beach prices for what im going to call extremely basic food and I say that to say your better off going to Walmart and picking up the same thing and cooking it yourself at least you'll get what you paid for. I understand eating at tourist traps like John's Pass is a risk, but this was even more underwhelming than I anticipated. Our group got a mahi sandwich, popcorn scrimp and a burger and none were good. The food coming out to others did not look good either. The tater tots tasted double fried and were saturated with oil. My friends and I stopped in tonight at 9:15pm for a drink, we sat at the bar. They close at 10pm. We were served by the older woman, long white haired pony tail. She was crude and not nice. She brought us our check at 9:35pm and said "it's all on one but it won't be hard to figure out". There was a QR code on the check so I scanned it and paid via online. She came over at 9:40 and said "you're my last check so I need you to pay" and I said that I did via the QR code and she said "I crossed it out, you weren't supposed to, now I don't know where it went, maybe went to China!" And stormed off and never came back over or said another thing. The poor communication, lack of customer service and awful personal social skills is appalling. Very rude. read more

The beer was great and the diversity of beer flavors and types (lots of fruit beers) was fun and interesting. We had a great server who we had zero complaints about. The three stars is for the food. We started with the chips and dips. The menu said the chips were "house made" and either we got old chips or they need to tweak their cooking and storage because they were so stiff and hard to chew that they hurt my mouth. The salsa was very good (made with smoky roasted tomatoes) and the guacamole was flavorful but it seemed to be the premade kind you can buy in the grocery store, and the beer cheese was hot but had a moldy flavor to it and not like the type that's supposed to be there. I also got a double smashburger with bacon. My burgers were not the real "smash" burger where it's thin and cooked on high heat so that they get the crisp edges. These burgers had zero of the hard sear you want on a smash burger and they were thicker than a smash burger. Worse than that, though, was that the bacon was chewy and inedible and I had to take it off the burger to be able to even gnaw off a bite. Lastly, my burger came to me cold, which was disappointing -- congealed cheese, cold grease, etc. We had been there over an hour by that point and the kids were getting antsy, so there was no point sending it back and I just ate it. Kids got the chicken tenders and they looked very good. Husband got the beans and rice with pulled pork and said it was good, though the pulled pork was nothing special (it was dried out and seemed either old or not house made.) The tots were good, the beer was good, it was nice and cool inside, the tables were spacious (almost too spacious -- I had to get up and walk around the table to reach the ketchup and paper towels, and it made sharing the chips and dip around the table a bit awkward), and they had games and activities that kept the kids busy. This place isn't a terrible option but tbh, I wasn't a huge fan. A nice space with lots of tables and plenty of TVs. We were here to watch soccer and it was a good place to catch a game. With that said, the food and drink left something to be desired. There's pretty much no vegetarian food for starts. They even unnecessarily throw chicken stock into some otherwise vegetarian dishes. We asked our server what our options were and she was pretty dismissive without really trying to accommodate. They have a ton of beer, wine, and seltzer options, with 28 of them brewed in-house. We did the walk the plank so we could try all of them. None really impressed, so I feel like they could probably do better if they maybe put more time into less beers. Mad Beach brewery may take the crown for the best brewery in Tampa bay. Ambience - so great! Huge bar, games, tvs - you can sit outside. Everything one would want in a brewery atmosphere. Food - delicious, somewhat unhealthy. Get the nachos - you won't regret it! Beer - the worst part is you won't be able to drink all the ones you like. Start with a flight, it's reasonably priced and a good size pour. Personal favorites are I Yam What I Yam, life's a beach and muffin man. They have a variety for everyone. Mad Beach Craft Brewing is an old favorite for their burgers and their brews. Everything here is over the top, so come hungry and a readiness to experience creativity across the board. Of course, to get here, you have to park at or near John's Pass, which as a tourist destination on the inter coastal comes with certain challenges. On the weekends during tourist season, good luck! Come early and bring your patience. Also have the Park Mobile app to pay for parking once you find a spot. Thankfully, my last visit was on a Thursday night in December, so no trouble at all finding a parking spot right out front. The venue is upstairs and can be accessed either by stairs or nearby elevator, and they have some seating outside, but most of their dining space is indoors. Now, what this place is not is a place to enjoy a view of the water while dining -- if that's what you're looking for, John's Pass has plenty of other options. What they do have is lots of space, family entertainment options, and a fun, creative food and drink menu that's sure to have something for every foodie. They've definitely got a pirate theme going here, and there's no better way to experience that than to "Walk the Plank" -- trying all 26 of their beers and beverages in a massive flight! I do not recommend trying this alone! If you're more in the mood for food than beer, the main menu is great, but you should always check out what their "Burger of the Month" is to make sure you're not missing out. This month, it's "Holiday Blues": two 1/4 pound smash burger patties stacked with applewood smoked bacon, blue cheese, balsamic reduction, and lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. You'll see it in the photo I attached -- marvelous! As for service level, Mad Beach Craft has fun folks serving a no-frills experience. Apps and entrees arrive on paper plates with plastic flatware -- nothing fancy here except the food and beers. I'd rate it a 3.9 if I could. Food tasted great. Had pulled pork nachos and crab dip however the crab dip arrived plentiful but with about 7 crustini small pieces of toasted (crustini) bread. That allowed us to eat about 1/4 of the dip if even that. Asked for more to be able to finish the dip and then were charged for toasted pita bread. (Not the same product that was advertised to come with the dip.) The tortillas are no joke. Thick and rock hard teeth- busters. The tortillas in the pork nachos didn't even soften up in the dish with nacho cheese and tender pulled pork over them. We are not complainers so when the waitress asked us about the chips And that she'd take them away, I showed with my plastic fork they use as part of their service that the fork was going to break before the chip would when trying to crack them into smaller pieces. I seriously thought we'd leave this vacation with broken teeth from the tortilla chips. Service was okay. They seemed like they were trying although we saw at least one table who had been sat and sat for quite awhile with no drinks. It was steady busy but didn't otherwise appear to be slammed. We thought that we would have lunch here while visiting John Pass Beach. My daughter loves IPA Beer and it was conveniently located in the mist of all the quaint shops. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating as we waited to be seated. I had a glass of their brand Watermelon Sangria and it was really refreshing and good. Arrington was our waiter and he seemed to be good at first, but it went downhill quickly. After serving our appetizer (fish dip) he took over 30 mins to bring our food. He never brought my daughters' drinks and I had to get up to locate him to get a status on our food. We watched other patrons around us being served while we were just sitting there. When I located Arrington, he pointed at our food sitting in the window of the kitchen waiting for pick up (ridiculous). Once he brought our food, he never came back to check on us but played friendly with other patrons.The food was not hot and lacked flavor. What a waste of money and time. Friendly staff and a nice area to dine with booth as well as large high tops that can fit (very) large parties. Washrooms relatively clean. Parking can be somewhat challenging when busy. My friend and I randomly stumbled upon this place today and I am SO glad we did! I was so hungry that unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of anything. But just trust me, it was all delicious! My friend and I both got a flight - the beer variety is outstanding and I liked them all! We started with fried pickles- I prefer chips, but these were still tasty. Their breading had a yummy seasoning and the homemade ranch was delicious. We each got the jerk chicken with black beans and rice. HOLY COW. Unbelievably amazing flavors. The place seemed too bright; too quiet, and the service was slow (on a Tuesday with not too many folks in the place). Mad brewing skills at this local beach town brewery. Impressive selection of 28 brews of different genre of the craft brewing world, sour to sweet throw in some IPA 'hoppiness' and you are set for a journey to remember [or not if you opt to challenge self to 'walk the plank' ($60 to try them all)]. This stop in was to have a final relaxing few moments with my little bro and his wife before carting them to the airport. He loves a good brew and knowing that him and my sister in law take mini brewery vacations around the country, it was the perfect pit stop. We sat bar side ordered up a flight to share, well me and my sister in law, as my bro got a pint plus a sip of each of ours. ;) If I recall correctly my sister in law and I picked: Muffin man, Cinnamon toast crunch, 1 traditional IPAs, 2 sour ales -1 being grapefruit tones & an Amber. My favorites if I had to rank would be: Amber ale, the Sour ale that didn't have the grapefruit tones, Muffin man - which reminded me of a blueberry muffin, and the IPA. The grapefruit sour didn't do much for my tastebuds, nor did the Cinnamon toast crunch one. That one reminded me of Christmas actually. Felt like I was tasting the air of the Yankee Candle shop a bit...I know it might sound odd but I'm convinced that I can taste smells. Being a responsible brew taster we paired it with the Gator Chomps appetizer to pad the different flavors and taste. When in Florida you have to munch on a little gator. ;) Those little bit sized nuggets of goodness were perfectly cooked and plated to present so nicely. Kudos to the chefs who still appreciate good presentation eventhough we were just sitting bar side with beers. This location also offered up various merchandise items, a few arcade like games and billiards to the side of the dining table area. If I was there for a bit longer or say a Friday/Saturday date night/chilling with a group of friends I would have totally participated in a bit of that. Was in on Sunday 4/6/2025. We sat at the Bar. Wow fun older lady named Chris. She offered a flight of 6 5oz mini beers for 15 $. What a great deal and fun way to try a lot of their beers. We had a low county boil of just shrimp. It was Amazing. My husband had a Chicken sandwich which he really enjoyed. She said if really liked us that much would you like to write us a review. We said yes, but we do not have yelp. She said I can let you use my phone. I said WOW So nice of her. So I would highly recommended this Brewery for a beer and some food. This is the first place we visited for a late lunch upon our arrival to Madiera Beach. The inside is spacious with lots of large screen TVs all around, but we opted to sit outside and eat, due to the ongoing pandemic. Safety first, right? Their outside seating is pretty spacious too with a decent view of the village strip, since the brewery is on the second floor. You can get to the brewery either by the wide, open-slat stairs or the elevator. Our family fully enjoyed the jelly donut burger, the drunken monkey shrimp, the hot pretzel, and the cubano sandwich during our first visit. Our meal was pretty pricey when our tab arrived, but we were full and happy. I was most impressed with their tap beers because there wasn't a variety that was missing. Plenty of IPAs, stouts, ales, and ciders to satisfy anyone's taste. They also have a large selection of Florida wines available and even wine slushies!
