The place is airy and casual. Happy hours during weekdays. 10 giant TVs hanging through the ceiling. Good for large parties. I ordered a medium combo, which comes with five drums, ten wings, and a side of large radish. I chose half-and-half, soy garlic, and spicy soy garlic.

Hit up Mad for Chicken Bayside for the first time and picked up 20 drums (soy garlic, spicy soy garlic) + (4) radish to bring to a potluck event. Order was ready per scheduled pick up time, and everything was neatly packed in durable yet attractive bags & boxes. Parking (free) was a breeze, thanks to the convenient rear lot shared with Walfood (Chinese market), etc. The parking attendant gives you a card which you get stamped/validated. Payment was also convenient since this particular location, as well as Forest Hills and Astoria, are part of the InKind network; whereas the Flushing (157th & Northern) location is not. The food was a huge hit. I'll def be coming back to this particular location, perhaps happy hour next time, mainly due to quality and convenience.

I haven't been here in a while but it seems they're rating has gone to a B ): They did add a brunch menu which looked interesting but seems like people aren't gravitating towards this restaurant anymore-it was pretty empty on a Saturday. Also now that the grocery store shares the parking lot, it is an AWFUL parking experience. Would rather pay the parking on the street.

I have been here soooo many times whether eating in or taking out so let me help you get that 5 star experience. Quality: 9/10 I can only speak for the Korean dishes and not the seafood boil, but everything is flavored deliciously and cooked well. Variety: 10/10 there's an overwhelming amount of choices on their menu and you have the seafood boil options. There's also a large beer and cocktail selection. Atmosphere/Cleanliness: 8/10 you feel like you're walking into a wooden lodge upstate about to have an indoor picnic by the fireplace until you see all the flatscreen TVs everywhere. Keep in mind it gets a little loud on game days (no UFC fights tho). Multi-stalled women's bathroom. Service: 8/10 they give free ramen packet flavored popcorn for the table and frequently came by to ask if we needed anything and the food came out really quick. On busier nights tho it might be hard to catch the waiter's attention. Price: $30/person including tax and tip for theses 5 dishes and sodas Tips: Always order their SIGNATURE wings (only soy garlic or spicy soy garlic), yes their traditional wings offer more sauce choices, but the wings are breaded/fried a little differently MUST ORDER: Kimchi fries and Kielbasa bites Soda refills are $1

Here it is, 10/06/25. I am mad for chicken in Bayside. Why? If you have ever eaten at this restaurant, you will understand why. I walked in and there is a landscape of picnic tables and booths. one section of high top near the full bar and the lighting is dim. we were escorted to a booth. Scanning the dining area, they have several monitors or televisions displaying sports. I did not go to the bar but judging from a distance it appears to be a full bar. My plus one and I ordered 20 wings split evenly with flats and drums. The concept of double fried chicken made me think it may be too hard, but it works. The wings were absolutely D'licious. We ask for the GOLD sauce which was sweet. OMG! I am making a declaration and that is. if you want buffalo style wings, Mad for Chicken is the only place to go. We also ordered sweet potato fries and that dish came with ketchup and spicy honey sauce. I also ordered the avocado chicken sandwich. It came without any sauce. It was bland so I dipped the sandwich into the honey sauce, and it paired perfectly. If they start to serve the honey sauce with the avocado chicken, I will look for royalties. The things that I was unpleased with are: 1. The seat was very worn. My mother called me nice nasty because I find sitting on unclean or torn seats very uncomfortable. So, I sat on the very end. 2. I think that blowing your nose in public is very distasteful and inconsiderate. Needless to say, I took the remainder of my food home. Totally turned off behind that. 4. I think the waitress abandoned us, we were waiting for a very long time for the check to arrive and the take-out boxes. Someone else brought the check to us along with the requested take-out boxes. Besides the needed improvements and the distasteful customer, I enjoyed the dining area, the vibes that were echoing R&B flavors the interesting decor, the popcorn served at the beginning, and the casual ambiance. I will come a third time and more.

Came to Mad for Chicken twice during their happy hour (3-6 PM). The service was friendly and welcoming both times. It's also one of InKind's partner restaurants, so we get 35% back, which is a nice bonus. I really like the atmosphere here. The restaurant is spacious, comfortable, and great for groups. We ordered the seafood boil with crab legs and shrimp, which came with potatoes in a garlic butter sauce with mild spice. It was very flavorful and delicious. We also ordered two servings of wings from the happy hour menu. At $6 for 2 wings, the price is reasonable, and the soy garlic flavor was tasty. The cocktail prices during happy hour are also a good deal. I tried the mango margarita, but it tasted more like a mocktail and I could barely taste any alcohol. My only disappointment was that the wings arrived at the same time as the seafood boil and were only lukewarm instead of hot. The food still tasted good, but it would have been much better if it had been served fresh and hot. Overall, a fun spot with a great atmosphere, friendly service, and good happy hour deals. Oh, and I can't believe I almost forgot to mention the free, delicious popcorn with a kick of spice!

Never been to this location, and I'm not sure why. Maybe because it's on Bell and there are sooooooo many options here. But here we are, late at night, closing out the bar and kitchen and I'm glad we did. It was quiet on a Tuesday night, and most of the place was ma vacant. We grabbed a booth in the back. Even though we were those last call customers, the staff were patient and apologetic when they told us they ran out of bulgogi. Understandable, again, as it was the end of the day. We ordered a few things to split including a chicken bowl, chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. The soy garlic was spot on and the sweet and spicy sauce had a great balance here. Shout out to them for having Shirley temples on the menu and for packing one to go for me. Maybe it's time to frequent this location more!

I came here the other night with two friends and were promptly brought to a nice big booth. I've ordered from multiple Mad for Chicken locations in the past, including this one, however this was my first time eating inside the restaurant. I have to say, I really am a fan of the ambiance, the space and especially the service. Our waiter was enthusiastic, attentive and quite chill. I love that they give you a pitcher of water as I def tend to get thirsty when eating wings and other salty/spicy foods. I also loved the complimentary bowl of popcorn too (which they kindly refilled for us). We shared the chicken bowl with white rice, an order of chicken tenders and an order of sweet potato fries. At first I thought we might need more food for the table, but once everything came out, I was quite pleased with the portion size. Everything hit the spot. Great flavors, tasty dipping sauces, and a nice crunch to the chicken. I can so see myself coming here to watch the next big game on tv or perhaps even a UFC fight. 5/5 place in my book!

I went there because my friend said there are vegetarian options. I tried the vegetarian chicken bowl with quinoa and the taste was phenomenal! I would go back again for that bowl! Good service. Relaxed vibe.

Stopped in for lunch with two friends. First of all, parking lot in back is great! Second, friendly servers. Free seasoned popcorn - garlic powder, curry and salt. We all ordered special combos. I got the 5 wings with truffle fries. They tasted really good and I finished it all. I don't usually eat it all but somehow, today I did!

Mad for Chicken doesn't disappoint. The service is always nice and the food is delicious. I've been here several times and I always get their chicken. I love the tenders and the wings. I like their selection of sauces. I had chicken tenders and the sauces I had were hickory BBQ and Buffalo. I enjoyed my entree and the Parmesan truffle fries. The restaurant wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. I'll definitely be back soon.

Keep hearing about the Mad for chicken . Decided to give a try .I was not disappointed. Many different favors to choose from. I decided to try soy garlic spicy. must say warning ! you gotta have a stomach for spicy. I have to water down quite a few glass of beer with it.

The restaurant bar area is sticky and not clean. They also have a B grade. I used to go here all the time and I could've gotten sick. See pics for violations. Disgusting! Do not go here.

Ask the Community - Mad for Chicken Bayside

I saw an AYCE menu poster on the window. What is included in the all you can eat menu? How much is the all you can eat menu?…

Anyone been to both Flushing and Bayside location recently? Which place makes better chicken? I've been to Flushing and it was good. Bayside is new so I don't know if the cook is good. Are the chicken breast 100% chicken breast? Or mashed nuggets?

The same exact quality in my opinion.

Last time I was in town, I tried ~$100 worth of Pelicana Bayside, which ended up being a solid choice. Everyone loved it. This time, I checked Grubhub, Uber Eats, Google Reviews, and of course Yelp! Don Chicken Little Neck was the closest spot with the best reviews. I also noticed there's a Manhattan location, as well as several NJ locations (Ft Lee, Pal Park, Englewood, etc.), which is usually a good sign. I ordered a Soy Garlic combo (6 wings, 2 drums) + pickled radish for pick up--and yes, the aroma driving home got us salivating so much that we didn't bother reheating and just dug in. An obvious rookie mistake, but it still hit the spot. The drums were HUGE. For anyone new to Don, I highly recommend skipping wings and going straight for drumsticks (more bang for the buck). Next visit, new flavor. Perhaps spicy soy garlic.

It's easily missed if you don't pay attention. There wasn't much pedestrian traffic either. Business is mainly depends on spread of words from returning customers. Right opposite from the cafe is Jmart Chinese grocery store which is convenient. Cafe closes 6 pm daily. Self service. No tips needed. Service: wait staff was very friendly. Food time was quick. Owners stopped by the table and started conversation. It was karaoke time when we walked in. Food: - their milk tea was highly recommended to us. So four of us tried the hot and cold milk tea and hot milk tea / coffee combo. All of them were very rich in flavor and smooth, exactly what a milk tea should be. $4.75 for a 12 oz hot milk tea is reasonable. - French toast with peanut butter: Love the syrup that it came with. It has a distinct refreshing flavor with delighted sweetness. Definitely different from other syrup from other places which is just pure sweetness. Owner told us the syrup was imported from England. Highly recommended! - turnip, fish ball, rice roll: 3 in one bowl. Portion is enough to share - scallion chicken: It was recommended to me also. It was indeed very tender and flavorful. $24 for half a chicken with one quart of soup. Conclusion: will definitely return. Even just stopping by to pick up a flavorful milk tea which is cheaper than a sugary bubble tea.

OK, I'm finally ready to give my review!…read more I moved to Little Neck earlier this year and have been coming to Marathon Cafe pretty often. I was ready to give it 5 stars after my first few visits, but I wanted to try as many dishes as possible before rushing a review. After several visits, I'd confidently give it 4.5 stars. Here's everything I've tried and what I'd recommend: Beef Macaroni with Egg: A million times YES!!! Believe the hype because it's every bit as good as everyone says! It's the ultimate comfort food. The cellentani pasta is an elite choice, cooked perfectly al dente and coated in a sweet, thick, tangy tomato sauce that's flavorful without being overly acidic. This is an absolute must order! Creamed Corn with Fried Fish: Don't knock it until you try it! The creamed corn is thick, smooth, and naturally sweet, while the fish is perfectly crispy without being overcooked. It sounds like an unusual combination, but somehow it works incredibly well together. Tom Yum Seafood Noodle Soup: The broth is tangy, slightly sweet, and very comforting. I personally would've liked it a bit spicier, but it was still delicious. It also comes with large shrimps and mussels. Rice Rolls with Fish Balls & Turnip: A Cantonese staple done right! The rice rolls are soft and bouncy, served with the perfect balance of peanut sauce and hoisin. The turnip is tender, and everything comes together really well. Bolo Yau (Pineapple Bun with Butter): The pineapple bun is warm, fluffy, and flaky. Honestly, it's delicious even on its own. The thick slab of butter melts quickly, which makes it a little too oily... Drinks: The iced Hong Kong milk tea and the red bean ice are classic Cantonese staples. You really can't come here without ordering one. What I wasn't crazy about: Lava French Toast: Too crunchy and slightly burnt. It tasted over caramelized, with just too much going on. Not for me! Thick Egg & Spam Sandwich: Nothing special. It was pretty bland, and honestly, it's something you could easily make at home. Not worth the $7. Scallion Chicken over Rice: I don't really understand the hype for this one... The poached chicken itself was a little bland and could've used a little more salt. The ginger scallion sauce usually makes this dish, but here it did the opposite. The scallions were chopped too thick instead of finely minced, so all I tasted was scallion, nothing else. :/ Fried Pork Chop & Cheese with Curry Sauce: It was just OK. I wasn't a fan of the curry sauce. What I would recommend instead is ordering the fried pork chop on the side with their pepper sauce. I paired them together myself, and it was much better! For now, I've tried everything that was on my list, but I'll definitely keep coming back for my favorites. One thing I really appreciate is how consistent they've been with every visit. The portions are generous for the price, and overall it's a place I'd highly recommend if you're looking for solid Hong Kong style comfort food.

Bonchon faces stiff competition in the Bayside area. At one time they were the only "game in town" Now there are other Chain and Mom and Pop Korean fried chicken places popping up everywhere giving them competition. The soy garlic wings are still my favorite flavor as they deliver that sweet and savory crunch. What has got me baffled is the size of the wings which have drastically shrunk. It's like that 80's movie "Honey, I shrunk the kids!" In this case, the wings! As a longtime Bonchon fan. I also question whether my fix justifies the cost as generous portion sizes are no longer the norm, but the prices have gone completely off the rails. Bonchon also decided to phase out and limit its chicken promotions. Bonchon's culinary strengths remain intact though. The double fried chicken retains its iconic crunch, and the soy garlic sauce continues to strike a perfect balance of savory and sweet. I'm afraid Bonchon's pivot toward premium pricing and away from generous promotions reflects a challenging balancing act and risks alienating it's fan base. Come on Bonchon! Do the right thing. So, we lounged at the nearby Starbucks for an hour before returning -- a highly recommended option. After 1.5 hours, I asked for my name. Nothing. 1 hour 45 min, nothing. 2 hours, othing. We thought this was ridiculous and confronted the ordering counter. Alas, they realized our "receipt" was lost. They promised to fulfill it right away; however, the next batch of ribs wouldn't be for another 20 minutes! It's turned out to be a total nightmare - 2.5 hours of waiting, with the 104° record heat to boot. I was plotting to slaughter the review as I waited; fortunately, the guy at the ordering counter made it right by giving us additional portion of proteins. So was the food worth it? Not with that amount of waiting but it was good. The dark chicken meat was moist and tasty. Chicken breasts were customarily dry, but the magical green sauce compensated for the dryness. That green sauce made this whole meal stand out. It had massive amount of cilantro and garlic as far as I can tell. I'd like to think of it as Asian pesto. Although it's a "chicken" join, everyone in my partly unanimously preferred the ribs - uniformly tendor and easier to eat. Oh, remember to grab some plastic gloves on your way out!
