My boyfriend and I were so excited to try their AYCE sushi and came here on Father's Day (Sunday) around 7:45pm. We were the last 2 people seated as they close at 9pm but there were many tables open and it still took 15 minutes for us to be seated. First of all, the lady who sat us down was in a horrendous mood. I was willing to overlook it because she probably had a long day, but it took us another 10 minutes to get our order after placing it on the tablet. Then she looked annoyed because we asked for 2 half rolls instead of a full one because we didn't want to fill up and not be able to try anything else. It took another 5 minutes to get the half rolls back. Well, around 8:15pm and after our first round of sushi, a different server comes by to notify us that they're doing last call. It was annoying because we barely started eating/ordering and they're doing last call 15 min after being seated? It would have been nice if the original waitress notified us of that. So, like any other reasonable people, we ordered 16 pieces of nigiri and 1.5 more rolls. At this point we over ordered because we panicked AND they charge for extra leftovers including rice. We knew they were about it and would definitely charge so we had no other option except to man vs food it in like 15 more minutes because it was such an unpleasant experience and we just wanted to leave since everyone working seemed like they wanted to go home. TLDR: servers are rude n lwk hate their jobs, sushi is actually really good tho 4/5, we were pressured to do AYCE sushi in 30 minutes
First of all. The price for the meal starts at 39.99 regardless of time (lunch and dinner). 39.99 for regular AYCE and 48.99 I think for premium. What we like They have options to order half rolls for special rolls. So we can try variety of stuff. Many options for starters, lumpia, karaage, chashu bun, edamame, etc. Also have katsu and chicken curry , ramen, udon. Expansive menu. We also like that they put the bottle of water on the table so we don't have to keep asking. They do paper orders for nigiri and it's limited to 4 rounds. 2 nigiri order per person. What we don't like They have a limit of 2 special rolls per order. Regardless of half of full order. I wish they would let us do 4 half special rolls OR 2 full rolls per order. We came specifically for the special rolls so it was difficult to order all the types we want within the time frame. And they lock out ordering for 10min. So we can total order probably 5 times IF we keep an eye out for the menu to open up. But when you're eating you wont be paying attention to the screen. The rolls and nigiri are honestly just ok. There are a couple we enjoyed but for the price I think we were better off just going by ala carte restaurant. We like the Eagles, Red Dragon, Golden Knights. Spicy tuna was pretty good also. Other than that we weren't too impressed. Service was great. Right now they take InKind gift card which can be up to 30% off from Costco.
Came here for AYCE, but it is not really true AYCE. There is a cap on nigiri orders, 12 per person, and it only applies to adults, not even to the paying kids. That kind of defeats the purpose. A lot of people go to AYCE for the flexibility and mindset of ordering freely, not necessarily to overeat, so the restriction takes away from the experience. That said, the fish was actually pretty good and tasted fresh, which I appreciated. Service was fine and the overall experience was decent, but the limitations make it hard to justify coming back for AYCE specifically. If I am looking for AYCE, I would go somewhere without those restrictions. If I am okay with limited sushi, I would rather spend the money at a higher quality non-AYCE spot.
I usually go to Harumi AYCE and wanted to try out the premium items they had here. The uni and unagi sushi were very delicious. Very good quality. The bummer was you can only order those items one time, almost cancelling the what ayce means. They do have a large selection of different items that Harumi doesn't have on their menu. Ordering was through a tablet on the table. However ambiance and service lacked on the day we were eating lunch. Maybe I went on an off day. There was two wait staff during the lunch period and both were very busy and didn't seem wanting to help much. So that was disappointing. The tea cup was quite small so I had to ask for refills several occasions. I would say if you don't mind or can overlook the lack of service, it's an option for a tasty ayce option.
Had lunch here a couple weeks ago with my daughter. Plenty of seating and was seated right away. You had 90 mins for AYCE and you order through a tablet on the table. However, you need to order your nigiri's with your server. Each person is allowed 12 orders of nigiri, each comes with 2 pieces. If you want to order more, I believe there is an extra charge for it. Also, for the rolls you can order 2 rolls at a time. Overall, quality of the food was really good and the service was fast. Would definitely come back again whenever in the area again.
I debated dropping my rating down to 4 stars because of my most recent experience here, but the food just tastes too good. Since my last visit, I noticed a big difference in the food and service. Before, the nigiri had barely even a drop of rice. Now, there is a significantly greater amount of rice. I noticed now there is a nigiri limit of 12 orders (2 pieces per order) per person. While although this is definitely a lot of nigiri, the fact that there is a restriction (outside of the 90 minute allotted timeframe) feels like it defeats the purpose of AYCE. If you want to order past this limit, there is an additional $4.99 fee. It feels like they are trying to get people to eat less while charging the same, if not more. During this Sunday afternoon visit, we were not even able to utilize the ordering screens for nigiri. A message would pop up saying "Call the server to order." We had to summon a server any time we wanted to order nigiri instead of conveniently using the screen. The vibe in there just feels completely different now. The TVs were all playing different things. The large one in the center was showing some online gaming tournament of characters running around shooting guns. Although this didn't bother me, it just felt a little out of place for a sushi restaurant. Regardless of these changes, the food still tastes delicious and I will stay a loyal customer.
Been here 3 times before today and quality and service has definitely gone down since then. Not sure if change of ownership or change of staff but for an AYCE place, we were limited to 4 pieces each for nigiri. They raised prices to $49.99 for the premium sushi which I feel like only included maybe 5 or 6 extra different nigiri and it doesn't even include soda...The rice to fish ratio was definitely off. They packed the rice so it was so dense and chewy and not that great... you can see the difference in the fish sizing from the pictures. The fish was overhanging the rice before
It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and one of the main reasons we chose because of the nigiri. We also noticed a price update from the December 2025 menu image--the current price is now $34.99. The restaurant was very spacious and clean, parking was easy, and the service from the staff was amazing. The menu is on a tablet, very easy and convenient. The only exception is that nigiri must be ordered directly from the server, and there is a limit of 12 orders total, with 2 pieces per order per person, which is plenty. I also loved that many of the rolls could be ordered in half sizes, which made it easier to try more items. I liked that the menu had a wide variety of options, including both free and paid items, with fresh, grilled, and fried selections. Everything we tried tasted freshly made, which was a big plus. For drinks, I really liked how the corkage fee is $15, which makes this a great spot for special occasions as well. The only wish is that hot tea had been a little stronger, with more tea and less water, and a dessert menu (i.e., ice cream, coffee) too. Overall, the fresh food, clean environment, easy parking, and excellent service, I would definitely love to visit again.
Wanted to try an AYCE although I am not built for one since I get full easily with minimal food, but we went for our daughter who wanted a lot of sushi! Place was not too busy during early evening. Order on ipad, wait at least 10 minutes before you can order again. Some of the items are additional like the kamas. Salmon nigiri was good and some of the rolls like dragon roll. Chirashi was more salad than fish, edamame was super spicy, shrimp tempura was pretty good, you get water or hot tea included, but honestly the price is a bit high for dinner at $43 pp. It is a local place to try at least once.
Hmm I thought I had reviewed this but here we go again. This is a great place to explore. I admire the philosophy. All you can eat sushi sounds like a trick, where you imagine a buffet with a few choices and who knows how long it's been out, but here thats not the case. You get 90 minutes, no rush, and choose from the menu the different options you want. My first time, as usual, is part of a learning process. I was not extremely hungry but wanted to test things out. I was drawn to the spider rolls, and they had several different types. All great, and I had cold soba noodles and a few other dishes. I guess I overlooked the sashimi section, and probably should have started with it, but I was pretty full by then. It was a great start to a great idea. For under $40 per person you can enjoy a complete meal of fresh food, including freshly made sushi. Definitely a great option for a group gathering.
I'm giving this place 2 stars because there's definitely room for improvement, and I think it has potential. I was excited to try a new all-you-can-eat sushi spot, and we were seated right away as a party of four, so off to a great start. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and has a good variety on the menu -- sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, rolls, and hot items like ramen, udon, and katsu curry. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn by slow service and a very restrictive ordering system. You're limited to about 10 items per round (for a table, despite your party size) and can't place another order for 10 minutes. We came in hungry, so the long waits between orders made things frustrating pretty quickly. The customer service could definitely be improved. We were given incorrect information about our ordering tablet. We noticed that the tablet was showing we started at 60 minutes instead of 90 and that it couldn't be changed, but another waitress was able to fix it easily when we asked. They also forgot to check in on a beer order, and we eventually just opted out since it was taking too long. The food itself was good -- I did appreciate the rice-to-fish ratio with lighter rice and larger fish portions. Their appetizers were good as well, with the fried mushroom being my favorite. Overall, an okay experience, but I would not come back. There are definitely better AYCE sushi spots in the Bay Area.
If you're used to Fuji Sushi, Mad Sushi may take a little adjustment. Orders are placed on an iPad at your table, which is convenient, but there are a few rules to note. There's a 90-minute time limit for all-you-can-eat, and you have to wait about 10-15 minutes between placing orders. The ambiance is clean and modern, and the restaurant itself is well kept. The sushi does take some patience -- the wait between orders is longer than what I'm accustomed to at other AYCE sushi spots. That said, the sushi rice-to-fish ratio is really good, and other reviews were spot on about that. Quality-wise, it's solid. Small note: the first tea we received was lukewarm, but the second round came out nice and hot. I want to give this place 5 stars because the food quality and cleanliness are there, but the wait time between ordering is something to be aware of if you're used to faster AYCE service. Overall, still a good experience -- just come with a little patience.
The worst AYCE sushi spot ever and it's not because of the food, but the service! Harumi Sushi which is ten minutes away from here is where I originally wanted to have dinner at but the wait was too long. However, I've been here twice. Both on weekdays and we had good enough experiences to come back a third time with two other friends. We arrived around 7:30pm and they closed at 9:30pm on Saturday. When arriving there was one party ahead of us. They told us to wait 5-10 minutes. Plenty of tables to sit at but working in a restaurant, we do understand the servers need time to catch up. However ten minutes go by and the host cannot find our names on the list even though we were sitting right there with a text message. Anyways, the couple that put their names down after us gets seated before us which is also fine. However, please do a better job in communicating to your guests. Literally not one friendly face in this store. Anyways 20 minutes later, we get sat and we wait another 15 minutes until someone comes to take our order. We see soy sauce and everything else being brought to tables that we're about to get sat while we had to ask twice for it until it came out. Usually, I really enjoy the food here but all of the waiting here made it so hard to enjoy my dinner. We ordered the max amount of items first round because we knew it would take forever for them to come back as well as the last call being at 9 so we only had 45 min to order. We finished eating our appetizers so wanted to order some more shu mai, mussels, etc. Waited until 9:30 and finally was able to flag down our server and instead of saying "sorry we aren't able to take your order again until you finish your food" he decides to make us feel bad and tell us that there are so many other people in the restaurant without food that have not ordered yet. Mind you, there's not that many tables as it was getting close to closing. But also, you should staff your store better so stuff like this doesn't happen. Paying $300 and denying customers to order 25 min before last call is ridiculous. Anyways, do not go here if you are looking for service. You have to flag someone down every time you need anything (refills, ordering). They lack all customer service skills and it is shown in many reviews here! If you actually want to eat AYCE sushi, just head to Harumi ten minutes away to get service and someone that will actually let you keep ordering. read more
Mad for Sushi is a solid choice for all-you-can-eat sushi, though it doesn't stand out from the pack. Like many AYCE spots, a lot of the rolls felt similar in flavor and composition, but overall, the quality was decent. The pricing is on the higher side but not unreasonable. We got here around 6:30pm on a weekend and had about a 15 to 20 minute wait in front of us for our party of 4 to be seated. Once we were sat down, we were given plates; bowls for soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger; and glasses of water. You're given 90 minutes at the table which starts from the moment you make your first order. You're charged for any leftover food which is pretty standard for AYCE establishments. Dinner is about $46 for AYCE, while it's about $38 for lunch. Definitely consider that if you want AYCE but don't want to spend as much per person! You can order as much as you want from the menu, but are limited to 20 pieces of nigiri in a single round of ordering. The quality of the sushi was good! From the ones we got to try, I was a big fan of their Mad Seared Salmon nigiri, Bay Scallop nigiri, Dragon Roll, and Lion King Roll. The rice to fish ratio is also really good on the nigiri. The fish are lengthy with a small bed of rice underneath which is great for prolonged eating at AYCE! The staff were really friendly, but if you want to order a lot of food, make sure to grab their attention. They've very busy with how many customers they have to take care of, so we personally were not able to get in an order for a decent amount of time. Remember that the kitchen closes at 8:30pm, so make sure to order while you can! Definitely will come back here to try out more of the options since there was a lot of variety! read more

We visited outside this place many times but never went inside. So today, we thought we go inside and give this AYCE sushi place a try. It's just sushi right? Wow, we were super impressed. All food was very tasty and fresh. The tea and water served by the waitress staff was on par with many other places. We didn't stay for 1.5 hours but will satisfied with the sushi, salad selection. Posted were a few pictures I captured but I missed the entrees from the beginning. With tips it's around $58 per person and the 3 of us were over joyed by the excellent food, service and environment. This is definitely one of the best buffet sushi places to visit. We will be back another time. I say you will be very pleasantly surprised how good sushi can taste. I recommend this place if you are in the Dublin area. read more
Came here after work on a weekday with my parents and girlfriend after my mom had heard about a new AYCE sushi location via IG. Like most AYCE locations, you are limited to two hours and each person is limited to 5 items per round. There are unlimited rounds and you can also do half rolls, which is really nice. They do have premium items that you can add on a la carte. Overall, the nigiri was really good, great fish to rice ratio. However, the rolls were just okay, nothing spectacular. I would recommend trying them out if you are in the area. read more

I went here for lunch and it wasn't too busy (no wait) but there was a steady stream of customers. Very cute decor. Minimalistic but modern. There was some waiting in between orders due to the crowd but it also depends on what you order. I ordered mainly nigiri but also tried a couple of rolls and their fried items. I recommend trying the ika geso to start. Fried to a light crisp and deliciously appealing when dipped into their sauce. So good it was ordered twice! My favorites and my usual orders were the hamachi, ikura, and bay scallops nigiri. The saba comes with sauce and if you don't like any sauce - I was told no customizations/substitutions. Overall, I left feeling very satisfied and although some might say the price is a bit high, I think it was worth it. Definitely will be returning as I wasn't able to try everything. read more
Came here on a Friday when they first opened. We really enjoyed the lunch ayce menu. Great selections. I love the fact that the nigiri aren't loaded with rice. It was nice that you can order half of a roll. Service was good... They were not slow at all. Some places I've been to are super slow so you cannot order fast enough within your meal. The restaurant is clean. I suggest you come early because it gets filled up fast as lunch time rolled around. read more

Had lunch with black badge Cheryl M. at Mad For Sushi. MFS takes over the space of the very short lived Azuma Bay. Minimal changes to the interior decor with rock hard wooden benches, boothes, and chairs. It's an AYCE Japanese menu although you can order Al Carte. Lunch was $38. No sashimi Nigiri, rolls and kitchen items. If you go for the nigiri sushi you'll be disappointed. Very basic fish items with a few twists. However, the menu does have extensive rolls and lots of kitchen cooked items. We had the following non sushi item and they were good Shrimp tempura Stuffed mushrooms Ika Geso Cold Soba noodles Sushi items Dublin roll, spicy tuna, spicy salmon Nigiri items Yellowtail, salmon, Saba, scallops Positives is that they didn't overload the rolls and nigiri with rice. The appetizers, kitchen items and the Haagen Daze ice cream dessert were the highlights. Lots of parking in the large shopping center. Service was ok. read more

got to discovered another gorgeous AYCE sushi in the bay area. the ambience of the place is very intimate. the dim lighting and comfortable seating is quite nice- definitely gives off a diff vibe from the shops outside of the plaza. i recc coming throughout the week to dine-in as weekends can get pretty busy. the food selection is honestly top tier. my favs are tonkatsu ramen and crispy rice. they're genuinely so good! i overheard that they will be coming out with more asian fusion foods like chashu buns and more. i'm def interested in trying them out when it comes around. their sushi selection so far is one of the best i've seen around town. the rice is half the portion that regular sushi chef's use for their nigiri's. that is such a great take if you want a more balanced meal and get your money's worth. def recc! read more
I'm so happy we got an AYCE sushi restaurant in the Tri Valley! Mad For Sushi is so much better than the restaurant this place was before. Our waitress was super friendly and the service was pretty quick. We were ordering so much nigiri at once and they really were so fast to come out. I really appreciate the chefs for getting our orders out so quickly. The quality of the sushi was great. We loved the sushi to rice ratio. You also can't go wrong with any of the appetizers. The nigiri here is really fresh and tastes amazing. The fish-to-rice ratio is just right, so every bite is well-balanced. I think the price is pretty solid, especially for the weekday lunch all-you-can-eat sushi option. My only complaint is that there can be a bit of a wait for sushi or nigiri orders to come out, but overall the food is very delicious. The restaurant is clean, and the service was nice, making it a great spot to satisfy sushi cravings in Dublin. read more

Been here a few times. An officious guy was host today. Made me wait almost 10 minutes before seating me. Dude the resto just opened and there were only like 3 tables seated. Restaurant didn't start getting busy until 45 minutes after I arrived. Also there were maybe 5-6 servers just standing around. I let go of that annoyance as soon as I sat down so as not to compromise my meal. Ordered all the nigiri with a few appetizers. Fish variety was basic but quality was surprisingly good for AYCE. Salmon roe, aka ikura, which wasn't good last visit was great this time around. Popped when I bit it. Mini mango taco was the reverse. Toppings were OK but the nacho chip was stale. Skip the bulgogi and chicken teriyaki apps as both were tough. Another bummer, they weren't serving ice cream anymore. The host who is also cashier said they are working on adding new desserts in the near future. Didn't mind the host too much but having everything pass thru him created a bottleneck. Was he the owner or manager training new staff? Don't know but if they were this behind when it wasn't too busy, I can see it being chaotic when it gets busier. As it was, I wasn't pressed for time but I did lose patience at the end and left. Didn't get my last roll until I was paying the cashier/host. This is the best All You Can Eat (AYCE) Sushi in the Tri-Valley! AYCE lunch, $37.99. AYCE dinner & weekends, $45.99. The dividing line between lunch and dinner is 3PM on weekdays. A few premium items have an additional charge, but it's very reasonable. They offer a la carte pricing, if you are not hungry enough for AYCE. We enjoyed the sushi restaurant the was previously in this location. Mad for Sushi is even better! We opted for the All You Can Eat sushi experience. The sign on the street side of the building says "Izakaya Sushi". Izakaya is Japanese for tavern. Our visit was made even more memorable by the personal touch of the sushi chef-owner. With a warm smile and a humble demeanor, he stepped out of the kitchen to greet us and share stories from his rich culinary journey. His passion for sushi-making is evident as he recounted his years of training in the finest sushi restaurants, the traditions he's mastered, and the innovative techniques he's embraced. He explained his philosophy and his commitment to using the freshest ingredients. This interaction added an authentic, personal element to the dining experience, making us feel truly valued and connected to the artistry behind our meal. The sushi and sashimi offerings at Mad for Sushi are simply exquisite. The fish is incredibly fresh, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that speaks to its quality. A great experience! Finally an AYCE sushi spot that gives me the same vibe and satisfaction as a Vegas AYCE spot would! The staff was friendly even though our server didn't eat sashimi herself. I was sad that there was no escolar when we went. But all in all - the price was expected - but what I love is that they don't aim to fill their patrons with rice. The rice to fish ratio was perfect! Definitely skip the curry - it was a let down for the kids... but come here for the nigiri and the special rolls! read more

Finally an excellent AYCE sushi place in the area! The nigiri was delicious and fresh. They had a nice twist on some fish like yuzu yellowtail. The appetizer portion of the menu didn't disappoint either! The only thing I wouldn't get again would probably be the sashimi salad. The execution of the dish just didn't make sense. My favorite appetizer was definitely the mushroom popper and the KFC (not pictured). Their breading on both were crispy and tasty. Can't wait to revisit on my next cheat day! read more
Mad for Sushi is the newest sushi restaurant to take over the spot formerly Azuma Bay, Mao Izakaya and the original Amakura in the Paris Baguette shopping center. Mad for Sushi has the same interior but offers All You Can Eat Sushi....i walked in and asked if they offered items ala carte as wasn't looking for AYCE format. If you dine with a non-sushi eater they do not offer bentos but do have plenty items like: bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, tempura etc listed under their appetizers section. This visit ordered the Las Vegas (shrimp tempura, soft shell crab, tuna and Mad Sauce) and a salmon skin roll. Both were fresh and delicious but next time I'll probably opt for a simple roll or sashimi as I didn't taste the soft-shell crab). My friend had the chicken teriyaki and cucumber salad and enjoyed both. Our server, Devin was the only server for 6 tables and was friendly, efficient, and checked on us frequently. Overall , a nice visit and would return to try their speciality rolls Pricing reasonable, plenty of lot parking with modern, clean bathrooms. Big plus! read more

This place was amazing! I was so impressed with how good everything was. It's just so unreal that a. AYCE (all you can eat) sushi place has opened in Dublin of all places! You just order whatever you want, and they make it fresh and bring it to your table! There are sooo many options in the menu and no limitations as far as I know. The server was super nice and kept suggesting that we keep ordering more to keep the food coming I had a great time there and highly recommend this place! read more

Went here because a friend told me its better than my favorite ayce sushi in fremont. Lots of pros, some cons. We were seated right away for a weekday dinner. First impressions of the place is that it looks clean, every table is well prepared for customers. You see staff are always doing something. They were very polite, and even bows at you as a greeting. However, the person who takes the order( not sure if owner or manager) has a personality probably not meant for customer service. He seems like the person who has a very little patience. He took our order and raised his voice when i was listing my order too fast. It's probably just how he is but it rubbed us the wrong way. As a customer who came for the first time, it's definitely a turnoff even if the food is good. It just sours the whole experience: I should say though that every staff other than him has been super respectful and great to talk to. In terms of food, we ordered mostly nigiri's and appetizer. The tempura is lovely with the right amount of tempura batter. We did have hiccup with one of the appetizers- im not going to mention exactly what happened but it was a major frustration. The staff were kind enough to quickly fix the issue which i appreciate: The fish tasted fresh, and cut nicely. Fish to rice ration is chef's kiss! Love their salmon and yellowtail. We also ordered some of their premium (paid) nigiris- eel, salmon belly, hamachi belly. They were $1 per order which i didnt mind. They were all fresh tasting and the belly's were buttery. The rice is a little bland for my liking but thats a personal choice. Service was fast enough. But they wont take your next order until you finish the last round. We dont like sitting and not having anything to eat while waiting- specially at an ayce place. We want to get our money's worth. Also when youre not continuously eating you'll get full right away. Overall, ill be back for the quality of the food. Probably will be cautious though from the bad attitude. read more
I was blown away by the quality of the fish! They were very fresh. They have a premium menu with add on items that are cheap ~$1-2 per 2 pieces of salmon belly salmon, hamachi belly, amaebi. Overall good food but the fact that it was well priced and ayce with little rice, I still ate it all. The fish wasn't the fattiest but it was fresh enough for ayce to be very very enjoyable. The overall selection is great with a wide variety for all ages with cooked and not cooked food. Service wise, the servers were great and attentive but the sushi came out a little slow. Maybe because we went right when they opened and they only had 2 sushi chefs cutting. I would think and hope they have more during the dinner rush. Overall though, not an issue. The vibe was good too. Upbeat music, clean bathrooms and (not intentionally) mood lighting! I joke because just before we were finished, the whole shopping center lost power. The staff was calm and still helped people the best they could so major props to that. Yesss dreams do come true! Good AYCE sushi in the tri-valley. The menu and style is very similar to other Bay Area AYCE spots - small rice with lots of fish. Everything was delicious here,.. standouts were the mussels, crispy rice with tuna, nigiri's, and the rolls were so good. Everything came out fresh and the rice was good which was important. Unless they recently updated their prices, but lunch is $37.99 and $45.99 for dinner.
Does the entire group have to get AYCE or can some individuals order a la carte?
From when we went a month ago, yes the whole table had to get AYCE.
Do they take reservations?
We came in & you add yourself to the wait list it was about 5-10 minutes before we were sat . But there's literally one guy doing the server , bus , bartender & host .
How about alcohol like soju? I could not find it in the menu
