I had a bridal appointment scheduled at Madeleine's Daughter for 2pm on January 10, 2026. Earlier that day, I found my dress at another appointment. Out of courtesy, I called Madeleine's approximately two hours before my appointment to ask if it could be modified to look at Mother of the Bride or bridesmaids' dresses. They said no due to scheduling constraints. I then confirmed I would still attend my 2pm appointment--I wanted to look at reception dresses and continue shopping with my bridesmaids and mother. Instead of accepting this, the staff told me they were cancelling my appointment because I had said "yes" to a dress elsewhere. I was immediately charged the $165 cancellation fee. I did not cancel this appointment. I explicitly stated I would attend. They made the decision to cancel on me, then charged me as if I had cancelled on them. I emailed that same day requesting a refund, explaining that their cancellation policy should not apply when the boutique cancels on a willing customer. Their response was patronizing--they assumed continuing to shop would cause me "financial confusion" and offered store credit toward a veil instead of a refund. This "solution" requires me to spend additional money while they keep my $165. I have continued to request a refund with no response. Bottom line: They cancelled my appointment, not me, yet they kept my money. This is unfair business practice. My mother bought her wedding dress here, and I bought my prom dress here years ago. I'm deeply disappointed that this is how they treat loyal customers.

I called the store, but they refused the exchange, so I ended up buying another veil elsewhere. A few weeks later, the manager called to explain she'd been on vacation and that staff weren't aware of the policy. She invited me back, processed the return, and even gifted an accessory. I was genuinely surprised--they went above and beyond, and I truly appreciated the gesture. I'm really happy this was made right. I've been to many bridal shops, and this one--especially the Salem, NH location--was organized, clean, and very reasonably priced. The staff during try-ons were helpful, patient, and not pushy. I would highly recommend.

They rushed the dress to be remade a second time and when it came back it had pockets but it still had stains on it. The poor stylist had to scrub the stains out of the dress herself while we were there...she did let me pick out an accessory free of charge because of all of the issues...little did I know a part of my dress didn't even make it in the bag when they gave it to me so when my veil came in they let me know they have the other part of my dress too. They have nice dresses at all different price ranges so they're a great option but just make sure you have plenty of time before your wedding cuz this was nothing short of a terrible experience after the initial try on appointment.

This was the fifth bridal shop we had visited, but it should have been the first! The store is spacious and has a HUGE selection of dresses. Jeanine was immediately warm and welcoming, making us all feel comfortable and relaxed. She had already pulled a dress that my friend specifically came to try and had pulled other similar dresses that were within my friend's preferred style and price range. We did not feel rushed or pressured to make a decision and were allowed to accessorize with the vast variety of veils, jewelry, and sashes Pure Bliss has to offer. My friend ultimately ended up choosing the dress we originally came for and in addition, bought a veil, a pair of earrings, and a satin sash! We were all absolutely thrilled with the entire experience - it could not have been better. On a side note, this is my 8th time being a bridesmaid in a wedding. I have been to more bridal shops than I care to admit. I can confidently say that this was THE best experience I have ever had in one. In the future, I will recommend Pure Bliss to all of my engaged friends, their fiances, and their wedding parties (did you know they also have tuxes and bridesmaid dresses?!). They really offer something for everyone and are a must-visit if you are getting married!

Anyways, I must say I was impressed. The store is very clean and has nice bright lime green walls that caught my eyes. All the clothing is organized by category of clothing and size. Majority of the items they sell is clothing, and then a few pieces of jewelry and purses. Great thing to know ... They do not consign, but they do something more interesting and more advantageous to a consumer (like me!). They "buy" your items up front at 30% of the to-be-selling price! That way you don't have to track and wonder if you will gain on something that may sell. To me, I would prefer to rid my clothes and get cash up front, rather than hope that my item will consign and get 40% (which is the typical consigning gain). They also sell retail clothing, and I like how they have this mix of both retail and clothing to be re-loved :) So, my awesome finds here at amazing prices: [drum roll] AG Jeans! and a rockin' long sleeve soft cotton jersey long and lean print shirt that I will be sportin on my tropical vacation coming up!!!
