so yummy! healthy amount food for me and i lowkey eat a lot! i like salsa rojo over the verde! would try if you haven't and i wanna come back soon :) $20 for the burrito or so, so kinda pricey but within reason for the area.

Phoenix was so sweet and provided great service during our lunch! She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. We were having kind of an emotional day, and Phoenix surprised us with a complimentary dessert, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. Also the churro waffle stick things were heaven! I will be back for those.

We came here for brunch before heading to Pacific Beach, and it was the perfect start to our day! It's only about a 10-minute walk to the beach, which made the location really convenient. I was able to make reservations through OpenTable, and I'm glad I did since it was busy. We ordered the churro waffle sticks, cinnamon roll pancakes, and the soy chilaquiles. Everything was absolutely delicious, and it was hard to pick a favorite! The food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Service was a little slow, but everyone was friendly, and the relaxed atmosphere made it easy to enjoy our meal. The restaurant itself is super cute with great vibes and a fun brunch atmosphere. If you're in the Pacific Beach area and looking for a delicious brunch spot, I would definitely recommend giving Madi a try!

I found this restaurant online and had been craving lemon pancakes and this place had great reviews. I was only one person so I got seated right away. I got the pancakes with the eggs and sausage on the side. I was disappointed in the pancakes. Not much flavor to them. I ate half of the serving. The real star of this place is the Ube Matcha. I loved it so much I even got one to go. It was busy and the service was good. If I come back, I'd definitely get the drink again but explore more of the menu.

We came here for brunch and it was an overall pleasant meal. Our server was very friendly and attentive, despite being pretty busy. The food itself was fair, but nothing too exciting. There were quite a few options so perhaps we just did not pick the best ones. The white bean shakshuka was my favorite, and the mediterranean breakfast was just mediocre. The GOAT sandwich was good, but since the egg is runny, once you start eating it, you can't put it down! The drinks were probably the best part of the meal - the ube matcha was lovely and I only noticed it when someone else ordered it, the orange pineapple kale juice was good as well, although a tad expensive. Normally a flavored mimosa is pretty good, but the guava elderflower mimosa was just okay, not bad, but didn't really hit the spot. Parking unfortunately is mostly street parking and needs to be paid. I'd be okay coming back, but probably not rushing to pick this place over other casual brunch spots. They are definitely busy, even on a weekday morning, so make a reservation if you can.

The parking was a little difficult. We did street side and had to walk a little but that is okay. The interior was nice and they had small flower vases on each table. Service was great :) they kept coming to fill the water. Blueberry pancakes: Good balance of flavor, was tart and fluffy. Chipotle chicken melt: Was a good sandwich. Could use more pickles. Salad had a sour vinaigrette. Overall was fine Hash and eggs: The star of the show. Very good beef hash. I chose white bread and sunny side up. I spread the ketchup on the bread, put some hash and the egg... it was sooo good! The runny yolk was delicious with it. The potatoes were crispy and yummy. Overall the portions were big and it was fair for the price. It was a great lunch!

Came in for an 8:30am reservation. A little bit loud, making it hard to hear the server, let alone have a conversation. What we got: - strawberry balsamic pancakes - the pancakes were fluffy and flavorful. The glaze and whipped butter was tasty as well. - chicken fried steak - the steak was a whole piece of steak, and the batter was well seasoned without being too salty. The gravy was a bit starchier than we preferred, but still tasty - guava elderflower mimosa - tasty, but for some reason the flavor was better after having food. Would we come back: maybe, but would not rush back or prioritize over other options. Notes: - takes reservations as of 12July2026 - 4% service charge - preset tip options start at 19%

This place was suggested by family to have a little birthday brunch moment and it did not disappoint! Service, vibes and food were all 10/10. The drinks were all delicious! The ube matcha was definitely my favorite, even my little guy enjoyed it. The churro waffle sticks were the highlight of the table. They were a sugary delicious treat for all. The build your own bowls were perfect, every ingredient was fresh and delicious. The chicken fried steak was SO good. The highlight of the brunch was forsure the cheese pull on the grilled cheese, it was a beautiful stringy cheesy sight!

Mosey on down to one of SD's cutest brunch spots! Madi is gorgeous. From their logo to their branding and interior, it's all so lovely! This location in Normal Heights is tucked into a neighborhood, so parking may be a little tricky. I dropped by for brunch on a weekday and it was bustling with people. I opted for their Surfer Breakfast Burrito. It features eggs, potatoes, bacon, avocado, cheese, and chipotle cream. I love that it came with a side of beans AND salsa (red AND green)! It was super yummy to dress up my burrito as I munched. Super solid!

Came around noon on a Sunday and they were pretty packed but we were seated right away. Interior is pretty big, cute, and aesthetic with a good amount of tables but super loud. -Waffle churro sticks (4/5): tasty, thick, moist, covered in sugar and cinnamon so pretty sweet and gets tiring. I didn't really like the dips (jalapeño blackberry sauce and maple cream cheese) but the strawberries were a nice addition -GOAT sandwich (3/5): big and filling, bread was crunchy, but I wasn't feeling the runny egg or apricot habanero jam as it was both sweet and slightly spicy. The potatoes were good and crispy but such a small portion. -Ube matcha (1/5): so sweet and didn't taste like matcha at all, the ube cream had a decent slight ube taste Service was decent but didn't check on us often as they were busy. Not sure if I would be back.

Been wanting to try this brunch spot. We came for a Sunday lunch around noon and luckily found parking close by and were seated right away with no reservation. It's cute and airy inside, but very loud and music blasting Waffle churro sticks (4/5): hot, thick and covered in cinnamon and sugar! I wasn't really a fan of the dips (jalapeño blackberry sauce & maple cream cheese), but the strawberries were a nice touch The GOAT sandwich (4/5): very filling and the egg was still slightly runny which isn't my favorite. The ham, bread and arugula were yummy. It was a bit sweet due to the apricot jam Ube matcha (2/5): I read good reviews about the matcha so wanted to give it a try. The color looked promising but sadly there was no matcha taste at all and it was so sweet. The Ube cream was good tho and had a hint of Ube Service was decent, they didn't check up on us too much as they were busy. I wouldn't rush to come back but wouldn't mind coming here again

1st time at Madi's and it's so good. Service was friendly (shout out to our waiter) and food was delicious, especially the blackberry pancakes. The ambiance is casual. There's seating inside and outside. Our wait time was about 30 min and we were there at about 11am. Parking is street parking, so be prepared for that.

We had a reservation for party of 6 and were seated right on time! They did ask if we could wait another 15 minutes but when we told them our schedules didn't allow for that, they were quick to adjust and make it happen for us. There was some confusion with the ordering, as we thought that we had placed drink orders with one of the staff members who asked for our orders, but they never got put in & we had to re-order them with a different waiter who was actually assigned to our table. The food is solid here, but it's nothing crazy outstanding. The GOAT sandwich and the BASIC were both enjoyable. The environment is busy and welcoming, I can see it being a fun & cute brunch meet spot for friends, but it's not really worth waiting hours in line for. (We made a reservation the night before, but heard walk-ins get a wait time of 2 hours.)

    I honestly don’t know.

How's the parking situation in the area?

Usually I get a spot within the block or out front if I'm lucky. Only street parking.

I am not sure, but I believe there are several options.

    Are you dog friendly?

    Yes, they are dog friendly.

Come for the Matzo, Stay for the Eye Candy (and the Sweet Chef!)…read more So, I took my grandma out for dinner because she had a massive craving for matzo ball soup. We ordered, but a few minutes later, our waiter came out looking like he had to deliver bad news. He apologized and said the chef refused to serve the current batch because it "wasn't up to his standards." Before we could even process being denied our soup, the chef himself walked out to our table. First of all? The man is dangerously handsome. Second of all? He was incredibly sweet. He politely offered us tomato soup instead, but then saw the heartbreak in my grandma's eyes. He told us, "Look, if you really want the matzo ball soup and can give me 15 minutes, I will go to the back and whip up a brand new, fresh batch just for your grandma." Naturally, we waited. Since he knew we were sharing, this absolute legend threw an extra matzo ball into the bowl so we could each have two. Talk about elite customer service! It really made us realize how much the people here care about the quality of their food. They won't serve you subpar dishes just to flip a table. My grandma was on cloud nine. She officially declared it the absolute best matzo ball soup she has ever had in her life (sorry, family recipe, you've been replaced by a handsome chef).

Despite the crowds, there were a few seats available to sit and dine. Usually one must check in with the manager inside the diner, but this time the manager happened to be a few steps away and she said I could sit anywhere I wanted...YAY! I had my pup Fendi in tow and we sat down for a while to enjoy the usual cool music and be voyeurs. As with most diners, it would be better if all the selections on the menu is available to order 24/7. Many items are only available to order during particular times. It was a sunny hot San Diego day, which called for an icy mocktail, a Greek salad and small french fries. The yogurt dill sauce enhanced the taste of both the salad and fries... so good. Service from the manager and servers were cordial, attentive and friendly. A bowl of water was offered for my baby and I always appreciate that extra effort. Because of a much improved overall experience and positive vibes, it merits this review and recommend.

The restaurant itself has an open and welcoming atmosphere, comfortable seating, good a/c, friendly service, a good variety of menu options...however, the cost for what you get doesn't equate. The turkey was heavily peppered, which might be okay in any other turkey sandwich, but this did not go well with what a Monte Cristo should taste like (iykyk)...even when the raspberry jam was added all you could taste was pepper. In addition to the strong pepper taste, the turkey itself was extremely dry and shredded to pieces when I tried to remove it. Very disappointed.
