We used door dash to order our food and we paid extra for 4 additional items on our food and didn't receive any of those. Very simple instructions too. All written on the receipt when we got the food but nothing with our food. Not sure how that even happens. it almost seems like it was done on purpose because they knew we weren't going to go back and have them fix it. Glad I finally was able to visit MBG. After catching a morning flight into Sacramento, my brother and I drove directly to the Bear to get lunch. As experienced eaters, we agreed more of the menu could be conquered if we divided our efforts and shared half of each meal we ordered. We chose the Jiffy burger, and the blues burger- appropriately topped with peanut butter, and blue cheese respectively. Hot, fresh, delicious, and the perfect amount of flavor from all components coming together inside my mouth. Just got refused entry because my "knee brace" was suspicious although they let me in the night before when I was even more intoxicated and not wearing my knee brace. I had knee surgery a few weeks ago and wore my brace to Oktoberfest because I was worried about people knocking into me. They also refused my very sober father entry. So that's cool. Used to have a lot of respect for this establishment. My husband and I drove 10 hrs from SD and arrived and ordered $50 plus worth of food and beer. My husband is playing with our dog and she's vocal since she is malamute and playfully barks at him, ROB the poor excuse for an employee walks up to us and tells us we have to leave because our dog barked at his employee. We thought he was being sarcastic. She is the friendliest dog you have ever met. Anyways, he ends up kicking us out, I am crying as he is throwing out our $50+ worth of food and only refunding us for part of it. DONT bring your dog here. Since you're on yelp for honesty and legitimate reviews of restaurants, I will tell you that this place isn't all that great. There's a lot of "Chico hype" behind it but beyond that, this place is a dump. The food is mediocre and just as bland as the expressions on the employees' faces. The food isn't anything special, like at all. Nothing special. Don't even get me started with the bar. Even the alcohol at this place give you that "you should've stayed home" feeling. There's absolutely nothing memorable that'll make the place stand out other than it's annoyingly hyped up nickname as well as it's depressed staff. During my visit, I did not see an ounce of joy or happiness from any of the staff members. Oh, the staff. Staff are extremely uptight and will not hesitate to speak over you and interrupt you, regardless of whom is correct or not. In our case, the woman we spoke with could not have been more rude to us. My boyfriend got inducted into the Chico State Hall of Fame tonight, and we headed to the Bear to celebrate with more than 15 friends and family - I have been here multiple times before with no issue. I was denied entry because I have a Canadian ID and they apparently don't accept "out of country ids". I use this ID to travel on airplanes, drive a car buy liquor - all the usual stuff - it's accepted by TSA and police but not a college bar? Seems discriminatory and pretty foolish for a college town with international students. Unimpressed and will not return. read more

The bartenders here are miserable and they should not be working in customer service. I went to the bear tonight 9/28 around 9:30pm to get a drink and some food with friends and I asked for an iced water and I go to grab a straw and the bartender literally yells at me and says "don't grab a straw just ask for one" with the most attitude behind his voice. The best part is, he grabs a huge section from where i grabbed the straw from, and throws them away with his bare hands, then he proceeds to grab a huge stack of straws WITH HIS BARE HANDS and refill the bin. I wish I caught his name but he was a caucasian white male working at the first bar on the right when you walk in. That is very hypocritical and unsanitary if you ask me. There is also another bartender there that always wears a bun in her hair and is more heavy set and she is very rude and always looks and sounds miserable. I brought my parents here a few years back and my dad asked for a fork from the kitchen and they literally threw it on the counter for him to fetch. Not a fan of the bear they really need to change their attitudes towards customers. If not, they need to think about who they hired/are hiring. read more
