I met up with a friend here for brunch on a Sunday. The wait was about 20 to 30 minutes, which isn't bad for a proclaimed brunch location. It felt like a long time though after we were seated to get service. We put in our drink orders, but they took a really long time to come out. They came out almost at the same time as our food, which is rough because you're trying to space out your alcohol intake over the course of the visit. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my mimosa flight. It was pretty standard I got the version with pineapple, orange juice and cranberry juice for $20. Not bad pricing. I got the churro French toast and bacon which was good. The bacon was a little small and could've been crispy. My friend's daughter got the chilequiles which were mid. My friend got the Nutella French toast. She liked it. If you live in this neighborhood or are 15-20minutes away I think this is a nice place to swing by, but for me the drive was a bit much when there are closer places with similar offerings.

The food here is actually really good, no complaints there. Whoever is back in that kitchen is doing their thing. But the overall experience feels like a test of patience and financial endurance. First off, the service moves at the speed of a DMV line the day after a holiday weekend. We had enough time between ordering and getting our food to reflect on life choices, reconnect spiritually, and consider applying for jobs there so we could check on our own order ourselves. Now let's talk about the drinks. Not cocktails, not fancy handcrafted lavender infused mocktails served by a guy named Sebastian. I'm talking regular soft drinks. Sodas. The kind you buy in a 12 pack at the grocery store. They bring them out in the actual can, no glass, no ice, no refill, no illusion of generosity whatsoever. And if you dare to ask for a second one? Boom, another $4 charge. Charging $4 per soda can while also making me pour it myself feels less like dining and more like I accidentally entered a luxury survival experience. At that point just hand me the Costco case and let me finance it. Again, the food was good. But between the slow service and the hostage negotiation approach to canned soda distribution, it's hard not to leave slightly irritated and oddly dehydrated.

If you have a sweet tooth for breakfast, then Madres Brunch is for you! This vibrant yet cozy restaurant offers large portions of pancakes, French toast, and waffles that are best for sharing with your table. Since you cant have sweet without the savory, we also tried their steak and eggs which I really enjoyed most. They also offer a great selection of beverages from mimosas to strawberry flavored horchata. Both the interior and exterior of the restaurant is filled with beautiful paintings on their walls and the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Its a fun spot for brunch, especially for young adults.

Finally made it to this place! we tried coming last year, but there was a three hour wait so yes I recommend you come early because they get very busy and it gets full; we ordered the coffee flight, the red Chilaquiles with Birria and the omelette with Chilaquiles. Everything was so good. We had no room for dessert, but we kept looking around and all the plates looked amazing. We will come back and try something sweet as well our waiter was really nice. It turns out they were a little short staffed because a couple people called off on Mother's Day so imagine that it's definitely cute. Can't wait to try the other locations.

Madres Brunch' The food was delicious, the chilaquiles were especially yummy, and the pancakes had just the right amount of sweetness. Our waiter, Omar, was friendly, helpful, and attentive, making the experience even better. Great food and great service. We'll definitely be back!

I only managed to get a picture of the mimosa and margarita flights but let me tell you the food was out of this world. It was crazy who would've thought that this tiny little pink house of a restaurant would have the most amazing French toast and Chilaquiles. Do yourself a favor and find a location near you. It is amazing. You will not be sorry and by the way they have Wycliff champagne you can't go wrong.

We had to wait about 15 minutes on a Sunday morning. Not too bad. The exterior is just a basic brick building but inside they have it all decked out in flowers, pink lights, and butterflies. It's very cute. They have flights for everything! The matcha flight was so good. Each one had a very strong fruity flavor. It was hard to pick a favorite. The side of potatoes were great. The French Toast was giant but I think that made them a bit too dry for my liking. I would have preferred a thinner slice of bread to soak up more of the egg mixture. They have an extensive menu though so I would go back to try more.

First time visiting Madres. Two locations, this was the Riverside one, other is in Rancho Cucamonga. Best part of our order was the coffee. The chilaquiles had some heat, but lacked layers of complimentary flavors. The churro French toast was more like a cronut, harder than French toast is supposed to be, lots of crunch which I wasn't expecting. Maybe with a side of syrup or a carmel drizzle with whipped cream drizzle would have elevated it. It's beautiful inside and fun ambience wise, the staff were super friendly and attentive, I just wish the food delivered as much as the pictures suggest they did. I would come again, I would order the coffee and try different items.

I loved the aesthetics of this brunch place! Not just the cute wall decor, but also the food. It definitely has picture-worthy dishes to choose from :) Flavor-wise, everything tasted pretty standard, not bad but also not exceptional. However, I would come back here for sure just to have a fun brunch with friends or to try other dishes, as they had lots of options! Lastly, the service was great with kind servers and quick waiting times for the food.

Came here for brunch with my friend. I ordered the eggs with bacon, beans & added a pancake. Honestly the beans were sooo good, the star of the plate. The pancake was a good add on. We did get seated at a rather dark table lol I wish we were able to sit where there was more lighting. I ordered an iced chai with oat milk & vanilla. It was pretty good. Good for a first time experience :)

Club lounge kind of vibe if you're into that. Not the mood for 8 am for me. So unexpectedly walked into that not knowing lol For the food I ordered it took about 30 minutes to get and it was a fairly large plate for 22 dollars (it should be for that price) however the food was cold and only slightly warm in the inside of the middle. I read the other reviews mentioning this. So it's definitely a reoccurring thing here. I guess it's cool to come and have mimosas and hang out and listen to music but wouldn't recommend ordering food . For vibes only

I lowkey hate that I came here on a day that there was a local marathon nearby and a surplus of people that stopped by after they finished... I feel like it makes it hard to gauge how the service would've been on a regular day when they weren't so busy, because it clearly looked like they were struggling a little bit as it almost took 10 minutes for them to just get our drink order... But nonetheless, the parking lot here is absolutely terrible... circled around for a bit but ultimately ended up parking across the street Ordered some green chilaquiles since that seems to be the go-to here... at first, the plate seems like there isn't much food in there, but it's actually pretty packed. In terms of flavor and spice though, I would just say it's average... there was pretty minimal meat on it for the price in my opinion, but hey, maybe I was paying for ambiance, not food portions... the churro French toast was pretty yummy Getting our check was another frustrating almost 20 minutes of waiting... I'm sure this place is decent for what it is, however, I don't think the food alone was enough for me to want to come back again and hope that the service is better

Service was great and prompt. We got there before 9 am and seated right away. Not a lot people yet when we came but now almost full after about half an hour. Food was presented/served nicely but was just average in taste. The French toast was certainly huge and has 4 slices . The Benedict looks nice. However, it was on the salty side. The ambiance was hip and lively. Decor is really nice, colorful and has hand-painted walls. Some thing that bothered me a bit was these couple of flies that were flying around and one landed on my daughter's churro. One of the staff was trying to "eliminate" it though. FYI, they only have bottled water that costs $6. I didn't know until I got the bill. No lemon for my water either and glasses have more water spots than average. read more

Sunday, 09/29/24. A friend and I had plans to come try this place for a while after finding out they were opening this location. I called the restaurant to ask if they had a waitlist and they said yes but only accept in person waitlist and would be a 20-35 minute wait time. I was disappointed they didn't take waitlist over the phone but makes sense I guess. We arrived around 1. We barely found parking. Parking lot isn't big enough, especially since the place was busy. Before I put ourselves in the waitlist, the host told me they didn't have or serve alcohol. I got a text saying our table was ready. Ambiance is really aesthetically pleasing and IG worthy. Only thing was the music. Music was only fit for a club and was LOUD. We got a small table in the middle of the restaurant. It seemed strange to have a table there because even the waiters were having a hard time trying to maneuver around us. My friend and I were trying to have a conversation but because of the music, we could barely hear each other. It took a while before the waitress asked us for our drinks. Even the waitress couldn't hear us when she asked my friend what she'd like to drink. I got the mazapán iced latte; they have milk substitutes. Waitress came with my friend's coffee but not mine. We waited enough time before we finally asked if when I was getting mine. She said it would be coming up. It finally came after a while and it was good. Our food was served to us after 30 minutes of us ordering. I got The One, which was big. It was delicious! I would give it a 10/10. After we were done, I asked for a to go box. It took a minute for that to come too. Waitress came with the pin pad for us to pay. She stood there the whole time as we paid, which I felt was kind of awkward. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I really did enjoy the food, just that the service was lacking and ambiance was not that great. I would rate service a 5/10 and ambiance a 3/10. It would make more sense if they played Hispanic/Latino music than club music. And have the music be more blended with the background and not thumping loud. I'm not totally sure if I would come back. Overall, it was fine I guess. read more

The struggle in here is real. How do you F up hot chocolate? lol.... By being cheap by not putting enough chocolate in it. It tasted more milk than chocolate. It's just bad rep for Mexican foods. The Service was below par, one waiter it seemed like for one half of the place. He forgot to bring our cutlery and when another waiter reminded him he continued to talk to the bartender, the other waiter had to remind him a second time we needed our cutlery, we had already gotten our food. He forgot to bring extra sauce we asked for as well. The Nutella French Toast was overly dry, just thick dry bread, 3/10. The strawberry horchata 10/10. We went there as two people expecting some good food. It took the waiters over 30 minutes just to ask us what we wanted. Every other table was served their food first before us. We were there for over an hour at that point. Just for your information, a whole four person family got served before us, which they arrived 30 minutes after us. We just walked out since we never got our food. The manager and some girl walked out and approached in an extremely aggressive manner trying to fight us for not paying our bill. At the end, we didn't end up fighting, but we are for sure never going back to fuckass Madres brunch. read more

Love the aesthetic of this cute little spot! Had a early breakfast brunch Jessica was very polite and attentive, I tried the Santa coffee flight, a few were a little on the sweet side but was given a side of an expresso bc I personally like my coffee a bit more strong! Food- I ordered the salmon toast, it was different being that the salmon was an actual piece of salmon vs smoked thin slices, the toast itself is a thick Texas toast which in my opinion takes away from trying to go lien on a "healthier " option, salad could use a bit more dressing and be a bit more fresh it tasted as though it was left out and not crunchy, presentation and service was really good. read more

Decided to checked out this hidden gem on Saturday morning and it just becomes one of our favorites! First off, 90s remix dj on repeat?? Yes please! Our server Manny was super attentive and answered our questions. I got Dulce de leche latte and egg benedit. Eggs were cooked at perfect runny temp. And the strawberry horchata is to die for. The one sandwich was really good and savory. My friend got that dish. I got the churro French toast, and it was super good. If you love sweet stuff or have a good sweet tooth. I only had two pieces because it was really sweet, but they were the best two pieces. The coffee flight was good. The only thing was the server didn't tell us, which coffee was which so we were left to guess. The hashbrowns are not your regular hashbrowns. They're more of a cheesy potato mix sort of like a tortita. really good nonetheless, something different. The vibes were amazing. The afro house music they play keeps You Happy. read more

Service is absolutely terrible here! Was seated with menus right away but took over 15 minutes to receive water. Once receiving water took another 10 minutes just to flag someone down for straws. We eventually ordered a few minutes later and I was told I couldn't get any lunch food items until 12 as that is when lunch starts but this is a brunch spot. They need to change it to breakfast until 12 and not call it brunch at all. So I had to sit and watch my family eat for over an hour until 12 cane and then I was able to order. I've been once before and was able to order anything off the menu and it was 11 am. The servers do not come check on you at all and are too busy laughing with each other. The food is extremely expensive but they do give good portions. Just takes awhile to get food too. Orange juice is $7!! I ordered pancakes and they were $20 with NO sides!! Just know if you come to eat here have some money money. Food was good though I can say that. read more

I came with my bf and the restaurant was not busy. I saw like 3 other parties. anyways we were not greeted at all and we had to seat ourselves. its took a couple of minutes for a server to even acknowledge us. she was pretty nice. I ordered the green chilaquiles with eggs over easy but the chilaquiles were really dry and the eggs were over cooked. I didnt even bother to ask them to remake it because the food took around 30 mins to come out. read more

From the moment we walked in, the vibes were so fun and upbeat! They had great music playing and the food was FANTASTIC. As you walk in the place is so cute, the music servers and just overall vibe is amazing. We were directed to a table within a few minutes. The host put the menus down on the dirty table and walked away. I called out to please clean it, which he did within a few minutes. We waited awhile before our waitress showed up. We ordered food, waters and coffee which took a long time to arrive. We even had to remind her to bring us water. She said the coffee was brewing. Finally she brings coffee and it is very dark and bitter. I added numerous sugars and creamers and it was still bad. We waited again for what seemed like a long time before our food arrived cold. Although the taste of the food was okay. If you like loud music and alcoholic drinks for breakfast this might be the place for you. Otherwise I do not recommend. read more

I was not impressed from the moment we arrived. The front is full of weeds. If you don't have pride in the appearance of the outside of your place of business, well that says something. I only had a side of beans and chips. It was a little tiny side of beans and was tatesless. The chips were cut into little squares, never seen any thing like it. They were so small I could hardly use them to dip in the beans, and they were hard! I wouldn't go back. read more

However, when I got there I was told to sign in on the clipboard which only had 1 small group. All of a sudden Ashley comes and says I have two other groups ahead of you. I mentioned they are not on the list. She says "oh they are in my head" what type of service is this. She then says it's over an hour. Then we would be seated at 1:30 and they close at 2:30 where we would be asked to leave. She was rude and condescending!!! With that attitude she probably would have ruined all the food and graduation celebration!!!! read more

I do kind of wish they switched up their menu a bit more often, since this current menu is rather basic and they have had more interesting food options before. Overall, a decent choice for a more premium coffee, tea, and food for the Downtown/UCR area of Riverside. Service is okay, and I have had somewhat mixed experiences with that. The employees generally seem pleasant and they're nice, but I have gotten incorrect orders at least a couple of times. During this particular visit, in which the photos are from, I had to ask two different people to get extra napkins. Ate here 09-30-25. Really enjoyed this spot! Would love to come again! Ambience is really great! The art on the walls is beautiful and the music gave me modern loungey club vibes, but was quiet enough to hold a conversation. I was digging it. Food was presented well, delivered in a reasonable time and more importantly was delicious. I had the Gold Bowl and my husband had the Birria. The "vinaigrette" from the Gold Bowl tasted more like soy sauce, imo. It wasn't terrible but I think for such a fresh bowl with salad and salmon, it would be better to have incorporated a type of berry sauce to keep the freshness rather than make it so salty. Luckily, it's on the side so you can add it by choice. Also decided to splurge and have the Horchata and Banana shake. Weird combo for us to be eating with our food, but the heart wants what the heart wants, haha! Both were very delicious. Alexis was our server. He was very attentive and super friendly. Definitely made the place a very welcoming environment. If I was to give a "con" about this experience, I would advise the worker who was sitting at the bar area on his phone and greeted us (if it was his responsibility or if he was on break, I don't know?) to not let the customer "sit wherever you like on this side" if not all the tables are clean and floor isn't swept underneath it. I couldn't see until I sat down at the table, but it definitely needed a good wipe down (which was done promptly once we sat without asking) and there were some broken tortilla chips under the table. I didn't mention that to the greeter, because it wasn't THAT huge of a deal for me. Oh! And I'm not a fan of plastic cups for water. I really do prefer glass for a restaurant. **Madre Brunch - Riverside, CA** My wife and I stopped by Madre Brunch for a lunch date, excited to try their take on classic Chilaquiles. She opted for the Mole Chilaquiles, while I went with the Madre Chilaquiles, both accompanied by a side of seasoned potato wedges. To round out the meal, we shared their signature coffee flight--an intriguing selection of four different Mexican-style coffees. The coffee flight was a pleasant surprise, offering a nice variety of flavors that showcased traditional Mexican influences. Each cup had its own distinct profile, making for an enjoyable tasting experience. Unfortunately, the food itself was a bit of a letdown. While the flavors were solid, the overall execution missed the mark due to one recurring issue--dryness. The potato wedges, though well-seasoned, were noticeably dry. The Chilaquiles followed suit; my wife's dish came with grilled chicken on the side, which suffered the same fate. Mine featured Birria and a fried egg, with the Birria itself carrying great flavor, as did the red sauce, but the dryness of the dish detracted from the experience. Additionally, our plates arrived only warm rather than hot, which diminished the vibrancy of the flavors. On a positive note, service was outstanding. I have been to Madres Brunch twice and have loved everything I've gotten each time. The first time we came was on a Sunday around noon and we did have to wait a little over an hour to get sat but once we placed our order the food arrived super quickly. I was hesitant to try the red chilaquiles since I feel like restaurants just can't get the sauce right here in the states but Madres delivered! They tasted like my grandma's red chilaquiles (without the spiciness). The churro French toast was one of the best things I've ever had and their iced coffee flight was amazing. I had the horchata, abuelita, pistachio, and mazapan flight. I don't hate mazapan but I don't love it either but the mazapan iced coffee was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The pistachio one was a bit of a let down, I didn't think it was good but since it was part of the flight it didn't feel like a waste. The horchata and abuelita coffees weren't bad but next to the mazapan one they fell short. Overall, I would definitely keep coming back. Even when the wait times are long the service is quick and the food is great. read more

Service: 5/5 Our server, Dee, was very quick and checked often, amazing service overall Food: 4/5 Food presentation was top notch, as well as the flavor of the dishes. Traditional dishes were made to match a modern taste, but still have that traditional touch to them. Furthermore, the combination of Mexican flavor alongside other cuisines made it taste so much better! The only reason it lost 1 rating is due to the side of salsa lacking some flavor, it carried heat, but missed the mark when adding to food. Furthermore the strawberry agua Fresca tasted a little too artificial, almost too sweet, so it also missed a bit there, but the food itself slapped, portions were hefty and delicious. Atmosphere: 5/5 Very cute, colorful, pink, vibrant, this place screams out "BRUNCH VIBES" the moment you see the exterior and when you walk in. Overall: 5/5 I just rounded up to 5, but this is a very welcomed addition to the Riverside area and if you want to have a nice fast, friendly meal definitely stop by while you're in the area. read more

The Chilaquiles Rojos and the Birria Chilaquiles are standouts and a must-try for anyone who loves chilaquites. Prices are fair considering the combination of quality food, friendly service, and the Intagramable atmosphere. The coffee is decent, but the Horchata Latte is what truly shines. On my most recent visit, I noticed a discrepancy on my check regarding an item that had been overcharged. When I brought it up, both the waitress and the manager handled it with professionalism and grace. They explained that the menu needed updating to reflect the new price, thanked me for pointing it out, and honored the old price without hesitation. Where do I start... I came in here with my husband for a brunch date to have the MOST HORRIBLE experience. the host who i dont know her name ignored us standing there for a good 2 minutes and when i said excuse me she just put her hand in my face, then she sat us at a dirty table. My server, ericka was very rude and even when i tried to fight it with kindness she responded with passive aggressiveness and eye rolls. which whatever we decided to try to ignore it. Our food was okay chilaquiles were stale. when i went to go leave feedback to the manager i think his name was ruby or rueben he was very dismissive and unapologetic. ive been to madres once before at the rancho location and had a better experience by MILES. will be going back there this place is just as ghetto as area is. If I could give you zero stars I would, we got there about 11:45 and were told the wait time was 30 minutes we waited in the car came out and were told we still needed to wait another 20 minutes. We waited outside for half an hour and checked in and were told we were next. Then a group the came in 40 minutes after us was seated before us. There was a large group waiting before us and we're getting frustrated the hostess kept telling everyone 20 minutes was the wait . Then when someone complained about waiting two hours the hostess decided to tell the customer that she did like her attitude when she was expressing the frustration of the 2 hour wait. The hostess was a tool and should fine another job she was complaining because she had to help buss tables because they were short staffed. Never again am I coming to this circus and I will make sure know of my friends ever experience it either read more

Started with the special flight which had 3 different coffees rate 1-5: horchata (2) if you like sweet then this is not your taste pistacho(5) my favorite ,abuelita(4) a bit too concentrated ,and mazapán(3) did not really have that mazapán taste I was expecting I ordered the mole chilaquiles (5) and let me tell you this was sooo good and the plate serving was more than expected this could actually feed two ! Don't let social media fool you. This place is overhyped and overpriced dont come here on an empty stomach because you'll leave disappointed. This place is known for their chilaquiles which were good i just dont know why they would sell the chilaquiles with no eggs. You have to pay an addition 2$ per egg if you want eggs in your chilaquiles. There are no refills on the drinks. And the drinks range from 6$+ & a lemonade is 7$ (no refills). This place overall has really poor service i waited over 45 min just for the check , my plates were picked up and i was waiting on the table for just the check. Pancakes have a rubbery texture as well. Servers will do anything but come check on you. I had to waive and get up and chase my waiter multiple times and he still didn't give me the time of day. read more

My fiance and I just moved into a new home close by and wanted to find a good brunch spot. I found Madres on google maps and decided to give it a try. We have their Horchata Latte iced and it was DELICIOUS. Not too sweet but not too bitter either! Then I ordered the chilaquiles rojos. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was even better. Maybe we came on a good day but the food wasn't dry at all and was full of rich flavor. The chilaquiles weren't too spicy so that was a big plus for me. The service was great. Super friendly staff and we were always checked. We also got our food quickly. The restaurant overall wasn't too loud, we came at around 1pm on a Friday. This place caught my eye passing by with its beautiful art work and color! (Pink) I checked it out with my friends and we ate on a Sunday. First of all, parking is hard to find. They have a small parking lot, it took 25 minutes to find parking. I ate the chilaquiles w/ birria. It tasted so dry, it was soggy and our server kept coming to our table every 2 minutes, I felt rushed! She kept asking us if we were done and we barely even touched it. It's a cute spot, the drinks weren't even that great (coffee flight) my daughter got French toast and it looked super pretty but tasted undercooked (you can taste the egg).
