I think place is just popular for the instagram posts I am not impressed, the wait was long they went 23 minutes over my estimated wait time. The menu looks nice its not cluttered they explain what each plate is, I ordered Café con Leche and water, the coffee was good a little too foamy for me i was not expecting the froth, but i digress. For food I ordered pancakes it took almost 20mins for the food to arrive and I was not impressed they are big, but they are super dry and you get like a tiny packet of butter that is not enough for huge pancakes. The flavor is okay, they are dough pancakes i think SUPER DRY; pancakes are supposed to be soft and fluffy. The only thing that was good was the coffee with milk and tap water. The staff is very friendly I'll give them that, what really got to me was that the servers told me my food was ready, but it took extra time for the food to come out. So in conclusion about an hour wait, plus 23 mins additional from the estimated time, 20 min for coffee, 20 mins for them to tell me my food is ready and a additional 20 for then to actually bring my food out which was cold by that time. I do not recommend coming here, unless you want to spend a lot of money for mediocre food and wait forever for your food. I would give them a 0.5 star if I could. This place needs to make there food taste better. I think there popular just for the hype on social media. I over heard a person next to me say her beans were bland and the waffle was gummy and bland. JUST STAY AWAY!! save your money. read more

I'll keep this short & sweet. I met a friend here for brunch on a Monday. We were seated pretty quickly which was nice. The restaurant is very cute with lots social media photo/video ops. The pros: generous servings and friendly servers. The problems were: getting our coffee 20 mins after we were seated, our order arriving about 50 mins after we were seated (I ordered green chilaquiles & got red), and the amount of flies in the restaurant. The food was good but not mind blowing. Maybe it was an off-day. I probably won't try it again because I don't live in the area. read more

This was my first time here and as I thought it was very busy. However I wasn't bothered or upset about the wait or how long the food took to come out because the atmosphere was good and you saw all the workers working very hard, you saw many workers attentive and checking on people constantly and again this place is very popular so I knew it was going to be busy. They were also very accommodating they gave us a free mimosa I'm not sure if it was a promotion or if they felt bad for the wait but again I didn't mind at all. So let's review the food the mimosas were VERY good and I normally am picky with my mimosas but they were very sweet and good. I tried the watermelon, green apple and pineapple mimosa all of them were very good but I probably like the pineapple one best. The food was very good as well! The Strawberry pancakes, bathe in Strawberry condensed milk topped with strawberry crumbles was very sweet very pretty and very good. I didn't finish it all because I did have half of the sausage breakfast sandwich which was sooo good! The sausage breakfast sandwich it was by far my favorite. My dish was good and our server Kianna was lovely and attentive. BUT DONT COME HERE!!!! Don't be fooled by the good reviews. You're encouraged to leave a review in exchange for a free mimosa. the hosts outside need to get it together. I joined the wait list through Yelp and i said i wanted a table at 12:00pm. It said i should check in by 11:40am. I was on my way, my sisters and i were coming from different cities and meeting there since Whittier is a half way point. At 11:20am i received a call from the restaurant, all she said was "hi, just wanted to let you know that you have a 10 min grace period"....i assumed that she meant after 11:40...(she didn't tell me that my table was ready NOW) I told her "okay, im almost there". I get there and keep checking the yelp wait list, says I'm 16th in line and then just disappears. It was 11:44am, i approached the hostess as someone else with the same issue approached her. She said she took us off because we were late. I told her i was in line! She said "i called you to tell you that you had ten mins"....i told her she never communicated that my table was ready, you usually receive a text like "YOUR TABLE IS READY SEE HOST"...and it still said i was 16th in line. Her response was "well the wait list on yelp isn't accurate idk what to tell you". After complaining, she said she would put me back in line where i originally was....i was told 3 people were ahead of me...we still waited 20 mins and watched 6 other parties get seated before us. If i had been familiar with the area and knew what was around i would have left but we all drove from 30 mins away. We even saw two people who came AFTER us who admitted that they were 1/2 hr late to their check in time get seated before us. Such a f-cking joke. I approached them again and she said "two mins". We FINALLY made it in and there were flies everywhere. We kept having to slap them away from our food and drinks. The server was great but the overall experience was trash. Never going there again, ever. I would discourage anyone from going unless you feel like being frustrated on a weekend morning. read more

Whoever thinks this place is actually good.... IS DELULU! We ordered 2 red chilaquiles (one of them with steak added) and three horchatas. Each chilaquile was $17 and that was a huge rip off for what we actually got. Both plates were cold and I had to ask our waiter to heat it up. The chilaquiles were so dry you definitely needed a drink to prevent choking. Not to mention that when they brought back the plates they had an upset long face for microwaving our food! The plate with added steak cost $7 more and only had 6 small pieces of steak. The steak was good but very pricy for the amount you get. I was also annoyed that you only get one napkin per customer. I've been coming here for a while and I've always had wonderful service, today was such an unforgettable experience. I was sat down at 10:56am and nobody came to take our orders, give us utensils. We sat for 15 min and no one came. It was so upsetting because the people who arrived prior to us leaving were given utensils, the server took their drink orders. I came from West Covina for the food and great service. Unfortunately I will not be back due to this experience. I've recommended this place to numerous people but I think for the future I'll recommend another place. It's unfortunate because I met the owner and he was such a humble guy. Visited on July 19th which was a Wednesday and it was not crowded which was perfect because I've heard that the weekends is usually very busy. We were seated almost immediately. The waitress was very nice and attentive. She even went out of her way to find my sister a charger for her phone which was dying and she needed to answer work emails. The esthetic of the place is very cute and inviting with lots of light up signs and great ambiance. The food was good but in my opinion a bit overpriced. The drink menus were printed on regular paper which was strange as the actual menus were laminated. I ordered the Chilango omelette which was an omelette filled with red chilaquiles and black beans topped with cheese which was good but again $16 for an omelet seemed a bit high. My sister ordered the Madres chilaquiles which was chilaquiles topped with a little bit of birria and eggs cooked however you like. I tried a bit of her birria which was a bit dry but again $18 just seemed a bit much. Overall I say the the food was 8/10, service 10/10, ambiance 8/10 and the price 3/10. read more

Overall, the food and service were absolutely amazing. When serving the pancakes, they make it look presentational. The strawberry horchatta compliments well with the pancakes. I also had chiliquiles with birria and forgot to take a pic, I highly recommend it. The momisa flight is highly recommended as well. Let me start by saying this place is in a great location. A nice walk around uptown mixed with a delicious breakfast is always great. My wife had been here a few times, so she finally dragged me along because I had to try their Iced Latte flight. I obliged, and I was mostly happy with the flight of 4 oz. coffee--marzipan, horchata, pistachio, and chocolate. I also ordered the Madres Chilaquiles and added egg, and I was mostly happy with my breakfast. The host in the front was also super kind; he checked in with us several times, which was several times more than I remember our server checking on us. Where Madres Brunch really loses a star for me is value for cost. The latte flight was (drumroll) $16... for 16 oz. of coffee, which is mad. The plate of chilaquiles plus egg came out to $22. Ultimately for me, there wasn't anything special enough about the atmosphere nor the quality of food to justify the prices, so it is unlikely I will return. If value for cost isn't as important to you, the food is definitely good; however, this place most certainly isn't for me. read more
