I've never been here before and didn't realize it was in the neighborhood! Overall it was a good experience. The seating is a little limited, but it's a great option I think for Togo orders, or a stop on a lunch break. The day we went it was super windy, but the seating area had a heater which was much appreciated. I had a chorizo burrito, and the chorizo itself was flavorful and a perfect texture. We loved our lunch at MadrezCafe! Driving from California to Tennessee, we mapped out food stops based on TikTok and Yelp, and we're so happy we chose MadrezCafe in Flagstaff! I got the Chorizo Chilaquiles and it was so good. My husband got a waffle with chorizo on it. They have a huge smoker in front of their shop that really makes you want to go inside. I'm glad we did! The food is so good, better than most restaurants in Flagstaff. They cook it right in front of you in a beautiful open style kitchen. Their coffee is also very good and compliments the food. Not to mention fast!! I think we got our food in under 10 minutes. I can't wait to come back and order something else. read more

this is not going to be a positive review. came in for the first time today and choose the place based on the positive review. ordered the breakfast bagel for $13. first issue was the food was al a carte so the meal was just the sandwich without any sides. I concluded the bagel was either going to be loaded with sauce and flavor or a signature sandwich of the restaurant. It was neither, the sandwich was very bland nothing had its uniqueness such as the bacon was not crispy or smoked. the turkey was deli not seasoned or marinate. the avocado didn't add anything other than garnish, the egg was not optional on how to cook it but its was cooked to be in a Pattie design to rest on the bagel. the real reason I could name all the elements of the bagel is because as soon as I bit into it the parts fell out the sandwich. this is just my peference but I like my bagels soft like 20 seconds in the microwave rather than a light grill or oven toasted so to bite into a hard bagel was a surprise, soft bagels are a sign of freshness and hard or toasted bagels are a sign of store brand or store bough. this was later confirmed when I noticed a person head to the kitchen with groceries like he came from an supermarket. not worth the $13. Next was the service. when walking in I noticed the establisment was full of customer, some were outside on the patio and the dining room was almost to the 37 capacity filled was patrons of all ages and stage blending English and Spanish language very fitting to the theme of the restaurant and geography of Flagstaff. Found the engagement to be very sincere and genuine to the children and adult. I on the other hand received no such response. No eye contact from the service staff when taking the order, was met with hard stares from service staff while waiting for the food. when picking up the food the meal was sat on the pick up area unattended so I had to approach staff to ask for a drink of water. Once I returned to the dining area proceeded to eat in silence as the crowds, couples and families departed. Once I got up to leave I was met with silence as the others patrons were met with a "bye" where I did not. overall I was passing through flagstaff and that was the last meal I had in the city and needless to say I would not eat there again nor recommend eating there but to get the food to go to match the poor service. read more

They were super busy on a Sunday morning and we waited about 45 minutes for food, but this was hands down the best breakfast I've had had in a long time!
