Used to love coming here food was always spot on and food was top tier, however came in tonight with my husband and ONE of the waitresses had a very one sided personal vendetta, and made sure to make it known to all the other waitresses and we were treated so poorly, both our meals were not what we ordered for one, for two the waitress only came to our table twice to take our order and to deliver our order never checked on our drinks and when we pointed out our food was wrong she got an attitude and just placed our check on the table didn't offer to correct our meal just offered to take my husbands meal off the ticket even though both our plates were wrong. BE BETTER!!! Just because you have a personal issue you leave it at home you are working there and representing the owners not just yourselves. Magalys owners should be absolutely ashamed by the way their staff is treating customers they do not like, it is a small town everyone has issues but it stops when you are representing a establishment!!! read more

The food here is beyond good, very authentic! I had the tortilla soup with a beef taco, and rice and beans. The tortilla soup was the best I've had. The waitress was very nice and service was fast. This will be our go to place when ever we're in town! read more

I have eaten here a handful of times and honestly has been mostly non memorable. However with the end of take out only thought it might be time to try again, since they are open and SEATING PEOPLE INSIDE!!! I am still very disappointed they refer you next door if you want carne asada. With that said..... I got the #7. It was good. Not great but good. First meal I've had there that I enjoyed. The margaritas are like the food. Not great but OK. The service has always been good and was on this night also. Would be nice to see some different food choices.... maybe dinner specials?!?! The place was packed and that says maybe more then me. The service was excellent, the two salsas were good, and everything except the chili relleno was really really good. (Take this under advisement, I am very picky about rellenos. Too many people end up elbow to elbow which allows a din of noise that prevents anyone from hearing one another, so conversations are difficult. High prices for average food. Decent place to stop if you get hungry halfway between Bisbee and Tucson. There seemed to be a lot more sauce than chicken, though. The rice and beans that accompanied it were sort of bland and boring. The corn tortillas were warm and tasty. The food is excellent. The salsa is to die for and you can buy it up to a gallon. My ONLY problem is refried bean optical illusion. They use the round, slightly indented plates to plate their food so when the give you refried beans it runs thin and wide, looks like a lot when it's barely a 6th of a cup maybe an 8th . Asked a local where to eat dinner while buying gas. He recommended Magaly's, and didn't steer me wrong. The service was excellent!!! Food was was great! My server recommended the Beef Chimichanga Enchilada Style with Rice & Beans, and I was not disappointed. We will certainly be back while staying in Benson for the next month. We stopped at Magalay's while moving back from Monterey, CA in January of '06. After checking in at the Best Western Plus Quail Hollow Inn, (an excellent stay) we asked at the desk for a restaurant suggestion. 'Magalay's' sounded great, and we were driving through Arizona, after all. My wife and I enjoyed this place so much... great margaritas and chips/salsa. I do not even remember what we ordered but enjoyed it thoroughly. Service was top-notch, and so polite, as well. It just exuded 'fun'. I left with the sense that if I lived anywhere near this place, I would definitely become a regular. I realize that an effect of cross-country travel is to heighten one's awareness of food -at least that is our experience but if I ever find myself in the area again... in fact, we're going to be driving back from Los Angeles in July. We're a little dubious about taking the southern route home in July but I could be influenced. read more

I really can't believe how bland the food here was. Being this close to Mexico you would think that the food would be good. It was boring with almost no flavor. The taco shells looked and tasted like they were store bought. The chicken was dry. The tacos had gross shredded chicken (tasted like it was from a can) lettuce and cheese. They were almost inedible. Went to dinner with the family after a softball game against Tombstone. I got the Barria, my mother got the #17 which is an enchilada and a taco, and my dad ordered three beef tacos. Everyone seemed satisfied. The place was busy, so it was expected that the service would take longer, but since it was so busy, it was loud, and the music certainly wasn't helping. If the owners could read this, I HIGHLY recommend turning the volume down at least 5 notches, and maybe playing mariachi-type music.
