We have been visiting Maggie Bluffs for YEARS and we always love the beautiful views. The food is also consistently good. But, I've never been tempted to leave a review until now. Yesterday, we showed up in the 90 degree heat and were immediately ushered to a shady spot on the patio, which was lovely. But then, along came Cindy! We had seen her tending bar when we walked in and she was all business. Fortunately for us, she was also our server! She SHOWED UP! She was all smiles and joy and, when we ordered Long Island Iced Teas she said, "I make the BEST Long Island Iced Teas!" And she wasn't kidding - they were amazing! And so was her impeccable service. The food was predictably yummy but that wouldn't have had us coming back this late in the boating season. Because of Cindy, we are going back next weekend just to hang out in her lovely aura and try her margaritas! Had lunch outside on 8-14-24. Hostess and server were super friendly. My wife had a hamburger, and it was cooked as she requested, and the patty was thicker than most hamburgers elsewhere. She said the sweet potato fries were excellent. I had 2 fish & chips + fries, and it was all good. read more

The view is spectacular. The service and food was okay. Met up with a good friend for an early lunch. We sat outside - it was a beautiful sunny and breezy day. I ordered the open face crab artichoke sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich was too greasy but it was tasty. The tots were delicious - you can't go wrong with tots. Interesting place! Great view! Mediocre food. I tried the fish tacos with cod. It was a good presentation although my only real gripe was they don't warm the tortillas. Tasted like they came straight out of the package. Now I normally never pay attention to details like this but eating a fish taco on a cold tortilla was an interesting experience to say the least. I also tried out their sundae. Not bad, as it's just your typical sundae. When the waitress dropped it off, the cherry fell off the top and she caught it and placed it back on top which was a first for me . I don't think it'll stop me from coming back but I definitely won't order the tacos again. read more

Disappointed. Maggie Bluffs has been a favorite in our family for 20 years- we came here for many celebrations and lunch dates. The views are amazing and the burgers and fish and chips have always been the best. We are not close by anymore so I haven't been there in at least a few years but ventured out this week (we live outside of Seattle but made a special trip). We ordered the fish and chips and burgers. The fish and chips were so crunchy and battered that I couldn't taste the fish at all. Small pieces of fish for high prices. Little tiny jar of tartar sauce. I wanted to ask the waiter for more tartar sauce but she never came back to check on us until we were finished and she was handing us the bill. The burger was also overcooked and lacking condiments. There seemed to be lots of wait staff walking around but they didn't interact with us. Sadly, I'm afraid Maggie Bluffs of the past just doesn't exist anymore. It wasn't worth navigating Seattle traffic for and I don't think we will back, but it will always be a fond part of our memories. read more

What a great experience It was a beautiful day. Chantelle was our server and she was the best. I had the crab artichoke sandwich with sweet potatoes fries and it was delicious. The fries were great and served hot. My guest has the shrimp Louie. It was different with 12 huge shrimp, a hard boiled egg, avocado ants assorted lettuces and cherry tomatoes. He loved it but also stole a lot of my fries. The line was long to be seated when we arrived on this sunny day but we were seated in 10 minutes. We've been to Maggie Bluffs a handful of times and it was a nice day so we decided to go and sit outside. Nice view that is for sure. Our server was so nice, actually everyone we encountered was very kind. The atmosphere is old school inside and it's great! Let's talk about the food. The clam chowder was extremely delicious and the perfect taste. It's hard to compete in Seattle so they did it well. We ordered a cup and it was literally half full so maybe 5 bites. At least the cup could've been filled to the top. The fish and chips were good but the fish was very thin and they could've added a few more fries. They used to have a good happy hour. I asked if they were serving happy hour and they weren't. They must've ended it. The Moscow mule seemed a little weak. Also they charged a living wage surcharge on top of the bill. Not sure why places do this. Just add a little extra into the food prices so no one knows. read more

First time eating here. Friends have recommended this place many times over the years, got a chance to dine in safely last night. Dinner was delicious, service was friendly/professional. Arrived around 7pm and learned they are in winter hours closing at 7:30pm (versus Google listed 8:30pm/website listed 8pm). Recommend calling to check hours in future. C19 vaccination card check in effect, in compliance with local regulations. Dining area was clean with staff actively sanitizing. Turkey club sandwich had moist roasted turkey, sweet potato fries were right amount of savory seasoning to balance sweet crispness, key lime pie had good tang to pucker lips. The only thing this place has going for it is the view on the water. I was there 4 weeks ago and half of the items on the menu were either unavailable or they didn't have a key ingredient to make it. Went again today for redemption and same thing- half the menu unavailable (no breakfast sausage, no sweet potatoes, 2 sandwiches unavailable, no passion fruit tea, and MORE) On top of that- my friend and I ordered tacos and they brought us tacos created in half tortillas instead of the full size taco tortillas because they were running low on tortillas! I have been to Maggie Bluffs a few times. It has an outstanding view of Elliot Bay and a nice value option compared to Palisades. Service has usually been very good. There are a lot of options on the menu, but give the location I usually order seafood. This time I ordered the Caesar Salad with salmon along with a red wine. The salmon was really good, blackened just right and a little moist. The salad itself was very good also with a nice dressing. What the hell happened to this place? A once bustling neighborhood restaurant is now DEAD. Last Sunday was a GORGEOUS day in Seattle. Maggie Bluffs is a perfect lunch spot with a beautiful view of Puget Sound, Downtown Seattle and Mt. Rainier. The large deck faces South West and gets all the afternoon sun. I was surprised to walk into an empty restaurant and 2 diners sitting outside. The menu was cut down to mostly nothing. I ordered a French Dip which was a huge mistake. I got a French roll with shoe leather topped with cheese and some Au Jus. Gross. The fish tacos my husband had were just as bad. I can't believe the owners of this place would allow it to go down hill like this. It's sad, truly. Please, save yourselves and don't go. read more

The service has been hot / cold at Maggie's Bluff. I believe they might be understaffed. Last night we dined at Maggie's with a pretty large group (7 adults and 1 preteen). The restaurant was not THAT busy since it was about 8:20pm. We just finished a long day of boating and we were almost hangry. We were faced with a new waitress that was being supervised by her trainer. The trainer seemed upset and simply didn't have a pleasant demeanor. Let me add that a very long time ago I was a waitress and it is hard work. I respect what waiters and waitresses do for a living and I recognize that sometimes it is difficult to be cheerful when you are tired. To me it is just but part of the job. "The show must go on because the customer is always watching". We ordered everything we wanted but when all of the meals arrived they actually forgot to place my order or it simply wasn't "fired up". Eventually it arrived and to be honest.. it was delicious. I ordered the Caesar Salad with Steelhead! Not a very big portion but enough to satisfy my hunger. They probably should have offered some form of compensation for the failure to delivery my dinner on time but I'll assume they simply were not thinking. I have eaten at Maggie's several times and I wish that I loved their clam chowder. I don't. To me it has too many herbs and last night my family members made the exact same comment. It might be their signature item but after a long day of boating this is just not the chowder I want. My husband ordered the open faced crab sandwich and it was a little surprising to see the minuscule amount of crab that was on the sandwich. The toast was burned black. The topping didn't even cover the entire sandwich. If something is "86'd it should be 86'd". This restaurant is located on puget sound and there is no shortage of seafood in this area. I understand the goal of increasing margins and cutting costs but for a sandwich that is almost $20 it is a little insulting to provide such a small portion of crab with mostly artichoke on the sandwich. My sister in law ordered the street tacos and although pricey she was very happy with the flavor, the presentation and the amount of food. I am reluctant to give Maggie's 4 stars but because of the excellent steelhead Salad and also due to the service I was provided on a previous visit (waitress was amazing and her family owns a tire business) I am choosing to give 4 stars. I will continue to update my rating based on future visits. We are a bit of a captured audience as we keep our boat in the marina out front. read more

I have a boat in the marina and I've been here a lot in the past. In 2022/2023 it was pretty bad, but today I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my fish and chips (crispy, flakey and not greasy) and the service was ON POINT. It's a great place to sit and enjoy the view of Mt Rainier over the sound. If you're taking a cruise and want a place close to the terminal to eat and start (or end) your vacation this can't be beat. read more

Decent restaurant right on the marina at Elliot Bay. Restaurant looks pretty outdated, but the place has been around since 1992. I had the blackened coho caesar salad which was actually really good. The salmon tasted fresh and flavorful and portion size was generous. Came here with a party of 7 people for lunch as we were cruising around the sound. This marina is one of my favorite places to dock at because it's just so pretty and has a great view of downtown Seattle. read more

We stopped by at 5:30 for a lazy early dinner. Sat outside enjoying the nice view of the boats. We ordered nachos and calamari. After a 40 min wait for our food, it came out cold. The calamari was room temp and the nachos were cold. The cheese and chicken were stiff. There must have been 12 tortilla chips for the entire order (see pics). The cheese is a white processed runny cheese, think ballgame cheese texture. The waiter was very nice. The manager came by to drop off our check. She seemed upset that we didn't like the nachos. The calamari was DELICIOUS! Lightly battered and not greasy at all. I'm not sure what to think. Maybe I'll come back again and dine inside. read more

Food was good. We waited almost twenty minutes to get our drink orders in, water and tea, and that took about another ten minutes to receive. Noticed that the waiters were only attending to people who were already eating, and seemed to do one thing at a time, versus bringing multiple items for different tables. When I said something, the table next to us also said they've been waiting a long time, and they were there before us. I had to get up to get straws and sugar, because I didn't want to wait longer for someone to hopefully come by. Ordered tacos and a burger, about another 30 minutes for that, at least it was warm and tasted good. They forgot to bring silverware, so we waited a little longer. That's about it. Lots of waiting. I've never written a 1 star review until now but this place 'earned' it. The sign inside the door stated, 'Please wait to be seated', so we waited. A waitress walked past and stood with her back to us, muttering over her shoulder as she tapped on a screen, "It'll be a 25 minute wait". I noted there were only five or six tables seated outside, the rest empty. Her poor reception and annoyed attitude should have been the only indicator needed to realize this establishment is not worthy of my time or money. With her back still to us, I looked at my partner who shook his head so we turned and walked out. The door hadn't completely shut all the way before a waiter rushed out to say he could seat us now. ... Second chance? Maybe the waitress was having a bad day? With hesitancy and doubt, we shrugged it off, took the bait and followed our waiter past the dog tied to a post on a long leash at the patio entrance. The waiter seated us at a table on the inside perimeter of the roped-off patio. We scanned the sparse menu and ordered hot tea, a cup of clam chowder and a basket of tots to warm up a little while we chatted. Our waiter brought the tea, but left us sitting 40 minutes without checking back even once. The sun had dipped behind the rooftop, and none of the patio heaters were on. All other tables had been served, left or were leaving. Our waiter didn't make eye contact so I got up went inside to ask for our order 'to-go'. However, I discovered both cooks standing in the kitchen chatting, nothing was on the grill and no food was ready to go out. Our order wasn't entered. Our waiter walked up and stood next to me, said nothing and started tapping a screen. "Excuse me. I'd like to cancel our ord..." but before I could finish he turned, smirked and said, "Okay!" I politely asked how much for the tea and he smirked back, "I won't charge for the tea when you just canceled your order" ... I'm not exaggerating when I say this place is a dump and the wait-staff employees exhibit the same dumpy attitude. I can't stress enough to spend your time and hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Wow, 3 times this week I went to Maggies for dinner around 5 PM. The place was maybe 20% full inside and 75% full outside. I was told each time that there would be a 25-30 minute wait. Of course, I inquired as to why with so many empty tables do I have to wait that long to be seated...the hostess replies "because that's how long the wait is". I would have had a few drinks waiting and dropped a couple hundred bucks on dinner with a 30% tip. Probably not a bad deal for the server and Landry's for a quick meal! Rather than seat me and make some quick money, they turned me away when there was plenty of room...what are they thinking??? I live on my boat in the marina for most of the Summer and this has been my experience 3X this week. Most of us boaters and marina tenants have a few disposable bucks in our wallets and now I'll take them elsewhere...lot's of good restaurants in Seattle, Maggies mediocre service won't be one of them anymore. Maggie Bluffs is a great place for brunch especially if the sun is out. Perhaps it was a little chilly to be eating outside but the sun was out and so we couldn't resist to be out in sunshine with a glorious view of the bay and the city in the far yonder. They were well seasoned, crispy on the outside, but soft and smooth like mashed potatoes on the inside. Yum. Oh and it comes with toast too.
