What a bummer! I've been ordering takeout occasionally during COVID times to support food businesses. I decided to try out this restaurant because the menu was so diverse! I would say it's comparable to Cheesecake Factory. I put in a dinner order and selected a few items. Fast forward... I opened up the takeout and a few unfortunate things... no truffle fries with the sandwich (was up charged for this), limited portion of crab and lobster ravioli, and the fried chicken dinner (doused in a bacon sauce) was given instead of the fried chicken strips. We can't eat bacon so the entree had to be thrown out (painful since I hate wasting food). I double checked my order (screenshotted) and yup, the restaurant screwed up. I tried calling the restaurant and there was no option to speak to someone or leave a message. So that was my takeout experience here :( Two stars because I liked the French salad. read more

Service was prompt & attentive, food was excellent, food prices are fair, drink prices are a little higher than I think they should be. What we got: buffalo cauliflower, skirt steak with mashed potatoes and spinach. Both were prepared correctly. I would recommend both. Appetizer was at the table in 14.5 minutes and entree was at the table in 22 minutes. Dirty Martini was excellent and cost $10. Overall a positive experience and I will be going back. read more

Went in with low expectations because of previous Yelp reviews. However, it was surprisingly very good! The ombience be is a bit confusing, diner, full service restaurant in or late night bar?? Anyways, food was great! Turkey club completely different than what I do expected. Wife's burger in was tasty and daughters fish sandwich is was good as well. Service is was great! The only negative I have is that the menu is way too of big! Overwhelming for sure! Cut it down and make what you're good at and get rid of stuff on the menu nobody orders. So I returned with a group on a Thursday which they thankfully accommodated. Our service was excellent wish I remembered her name I would love to give her a shout out. The food was awesome. Huge menu and everything came out awesome. The drinks can be hit or miss and a little pricey for the beer but majority of those were a hit this time as well. We were leaving the mall on a Tuesday afternoon and realized we had not eaten all day so we rolled in. First time there. We were seated immediately by our server and given the option of high or low top or booth. Red flag went up when I saw the menu. I hate large menus because I worry about how anyone can keep all of that food fresh. We didn't order anything fancy just needed to fill up and continue with our day. Hubs got the wings. He enjoyed them. They were crispy with just the right heat and he liked the blue cheese. I ordered chicken fajitas and truffle fries. I asked for the fries to be delivered with the meal in an attempt to keep hubs (AKA The Claw) from eating them all. The fries were a good size, crispy and warm. However, they didn't have much truffle flavor. This didn't keep the claw from saying they were great and eating most of them. Garlic Aioli was good. Fajitas were also good. The portion was large and I enjoyed the leftovers again today. Our server was great. Professional and anticipated all of our needs. Did I knock a star off due to the boring fries? No sirrie! I used the ladies room on the way out. If I had gone before being seated I would have left. I hope the person who prepared my food used a separate staff bathroom. Ate lunch there today. We had calamari and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. Not very good the calamari was tough and the mozzarella sticks were way too large to cook properly so the crust got greasy and overcooked and the cheese in the center was undercooked. My wife had tortellini Alfredo which was ok. She had to get it without the bacon that seems to be in a lot of dishes. I had a meat pizza it was ok the crust was extremely thin I asked how thick it was and was not given correct info. The crust is extremely thin barely there I would say. Update: After owners response: as indicated in my very detailed review, yes they were remaking the salad. I was told it would just be "a couple minutes" after 25 minutes and no salad we had to leave. How long was I supposed to wait? 30 minutes? 40? Any reasonable person would have left after 25 minutes with the rest of the table completely done eating + gone to the bathroom + still sat watching YouTube. It doesn't take more than 25 minutes to remake a salad. I appreciate the reply but don't try to put this on me "we were remaking and you decided to leave"..... seriously? Accountability! We have walked by this restaurant for YEARS and never went inside. Today that changed and we couldn't be happier. The menu is EXTENSIVE so be prepared to take some time to peruse. The drink menu was original and enjoyed trying different versions of my favorite drink. The short rib grilled cheese is STUPID GOOD. Like, ridiculously good. We really appreciated the menu highlighting food sourced from families or 'locally' owned. (One could argue if Buffalo is local but it was still appreciated and delicious). Oh, and wine on tap?!? Maggy mcflys aka Maggy Mcdive. It's an overpriced dive bar in my opinion. I've given it 5 chances, each time I've been more and more disappointed. The last three times it seems like they have a resident barfly (dude looks like a knockoff version of Kevin Federline meets My Chemical Romances black parade) which the whole staff flocks around, things like this only happen when a person has something to give the staff . Update: Please see response from ownership. Apparently you need to ask to speak to a manager to receive proper service. I get it; malls have a captive audience. However, there are so many options at Crossgates and even more are opening. Providing not even adequate service is not going to ensure customers visit. I don't think one should have to ask for a manager every time they visit a restaurant to get the same service literally every other mall restaurant has figured out how to provide. Based on the lackluster blame the customer for not demanding to speak to a manager response, I will be avoiding Maggie McFlys. This is my fourth time at Maggie McFly's and I think I have figured it out. If there are no customers in the place, it will be great. If it's any other time of day, it will be terrible so make sure you get the bartender with the dreadlocks. At least he will compensate you for the horrified service and can make any cocktail you dream up. I can't really comment on the food. Every time except a Friday morning at 11:30 am with no one else in the place, my food has come out in the wrong order. Also, at best luke-warm. I don't understand why it's so hard to have an app come out first, followed by an entree, but at Maggie McFly's they can't figure it out. The scallops I had on a Saturday night, served with an app I had wanted to split with my husband and cold. The French onion soup and Brussels sprouts... same. Complaints to servers only create bewildered looks. No one thinks to flag down a manger to come help us. I have come here twice so far. The food is pretty good and I like that most of the food comes from local sources. I am giving 3 stars because the first time I came, the roof was leaking above my head. The table was big enough that I could slide over in the booth, but we were not offered another table. The second time I came and ordered a moscow mule, i waited about 30 minutes before being informed that they were out of ginger beer. Regardless of these things, I would still return again to give it another try because my boyfriend and I do enjoy the food and theres many options. read more

DREADFUL!! took over 20 mins for beverages. They came out, no ice in any of them. One beverage missing. Told them. Still no beverage. Took an extra 15 mins for a bottled beer. Meals came out...still no missing beverage. Meal missing au jus. "I'll be right back with au jus" he says. No au jus. And still no missing beverage. Had to flag server down and say, no au jus, it's been 15 mins now. And still no beverage that you and other person failed to bring. 5-10mins go by and finally au jus. But that meal is a waste because the French dip is now cold...and the au jus...maybe 3 tablespoons amount. One family member asked for another beverage. Nothing. Had to ask 3x until finally getting one. Looked around for a manager but not one in sight. Just servers dressed in black with aprons. No manager looking person at all. What a complete disgrace. It felt like brand new servers who were given zero training. And no manager to be seen. (And I'm sure they weren't brand new) And it wasn't mobbed with people, so no excuse. Came here for the first time after seeing Spiderman, and initially, I was a little concerned. The place is huge. Even in the bustling days when malls were hopping, I can't see this place full. We were seated pretty quickly, and then after a few minutes, someone came by and asked if anyone had come by yet. I don't think that person was a hostess...maybe a floor manager? Then we waited several minutes for a server to appear. But that was the only downside; that and perhaps the menu is just a little too big. I've gotten smaller library books. However, since so much is locally sourced, it's a nice perk that they break out seasonal specials, and what farms the various items come from. From a wide selection of beer I had a Dogfish Flesh and Blood. I got the calamari appetizer and the pick 3 tacos, J got chicken bites/tenders/I don't know what they and a burger. The calamari was good, and there was plenty of it. The tacos? Heaven. I had one with shrimp, one with battered cod, and one with pulled pork, all in corn tortillas, with a side of yellow rice and a corn/quinoa salad (the flavor on this was amazing, I was trying to dissect it so I could make it myself). It was all absolutely delicious. J also enjoyed his cheeseburger and I tried one of his chicken morsels...also very good, nice sauce on it. Overall, definitely would come again. The service was again slow in getting our check, and for that alone I didn't give it 5 stars (the server was pleasant and friendly and pointed out the locally sourced aspect of the place, just really slow when it wasn't crowded...maybe because it was a 2 mile walk to get to us :) ). Went the other day with my friend before we went shopping. Surprisingly quick service but it felt to a point we were being rushed; asked in just the beginning of us eating if we needed boxes. No problem - but the restaurant wasn't busy and it wasn't near closing, so why? So we eventually got our food and takeout and left. The night and day after I got incredibly sick and I'm pretty sure it was food poisoning. I didn't want to stick it on the food immediately until I asked my friend and she was going through the same thing. So - I hate to write a " bad" review, I'm just disappointed with middle chunk of it all. The food was pretty unremarkable. This menu is Way Too Big! The easiest way to have nothing spectacular on the menu is to have it buried in a huge menu full so even if anything on the menu is seasoned properly or made fresh it will be like finding a needle in a haystack. With this size of a menu it would be a miracle if anything is brought in fresh or made to order. I'm sure 99% of the stuff is frozen, not that big of a deal but part of what makes food good is the attention being paid to it and this just seems like assembly line food that I don't think too many people would throughly enjoy. I got the slider burgers, nothing to write home about. My girlfriend got Mac and Cheese balls and they were under seasoned and bland. I would have ordered a real entree but every time I looked for one the menu gave me a migraine with how disorganized and haphazardly everything was. My wife has Celiac Disease and we have been eating at Maggie McFly's Albany store in Crossgates Mall since it opened because of her dietary restrictions.  We have always enjoyed our meals and the pleasant service but our most recent compelled us to write this as this has all changed. We visited on October 20, 2021 for dinner.  Since we are there so frequently we felt compelled to tell the Assistant Manager (blonde haired girl wearing the white shirt) that the menu board above the bar was very, very dirty and covered with dust (pictured below). We mentioned this to her simply as a friendly gesture because we surely weren't the only people to notice and I'm sure it was a turn off to many patrons. They have not been cleaned since the store opened, ever! The response we got was comical.  She said "oh, I never look up so I hadn't noticed that" and "I'll have to work on that". (HUH?) Fast forward to our most recent visit, November 6, 2021.  The menu board above the bar had not been cleaned.  So the assistant manager obviously could care less! So on 11/6 visit we sat at the bar and placed our order.  I had ahi tuna salad and my wife wanted the gluten free fish & chips (her favorite) but they were out of it, so she opted for the reuben on cheese bread.  I also had a skinny mojito.  The drink was made wrong and the bartender made another which was fine and said the one that was made wrong was no charge (later I was charged for it!). We decided that we were still hungry so we ordered some chicken wings which came out wrong THREE TIMES! The third time around the chicken wings and both of our drinks then sat as in the attached picture on the bar for a HALF HOUR while the bartenders walked back and forth past them without even a word. I then decided that it was time and went to find the manager who was a small woman with a red shirt and a very nasty disposition. I asked her to sit down with me in an empty booth to try and have a civil conversation and I explained the course of events. She seemed extremely disinterested and simply got up and walked away when I paused. Ten minutes later we got the bill and not only were the chicken wings on there that we did not eat but she also charged me for the wrong drink. I immediately got up and went and found her. Her answer at this point should have been that she was very sorry and there is no charge but instead she told me that it was someone else's fault. Her excuse was that the person that she had told to take care of it did not do it correctly?!?!?!  My question is, "WHY did she not do it herself???" We got the bill and the incorrect drink and the wings were removed. No apology, no nothing. Just screw you, here is your bill for sixty bucks and if you did not enjoy your meal or had a bad experience we really could care less... In addition to that, the ladies bathroom had toilet paper and napkins all over the floor.  Both the ladies and men's room ceiling fans look as if they have never been cleaned. (pictured) Honestly we go out to eat one day a week. We both run our own businesses and are very busy and this is our one time every week that we put aside to spend together trying to enjoy ourselves. The one time this week that we tried to enjoy ourselves was ruined and I was so angered by this nasty woman's attitude that I am not sure how I remained calm. This experience is simply inexcusable and these people should be fired immediately. We then contacted corporate and the answer that we got was simply, "We are sorry. I like this spot, I usually stop here after spending time/money at Crossgates. This most recent time I was somewhat disappointed however. Now, the bartender always leaves a lot to be desired on Saturdays, the last time I had to get a manager to cash me out because I waited 30 minutes for him to get back to me. Honestly they probably just need to hire another back there for during the day. This most recent time, all my side dressings /sauces were forgotten and if I didn't check the bag I wouldn't have gotten them- that includes the salad dressing- how could you forget the salad dressing for a salad??? With regards to the food, my favorite dish here is the Brussels sprouts. But somehow these were not done correctly this time. The aioli was non existent , the bacon was raw and the sprouts were undercooked...for 11 $ they better be on point every time. My chicken wings I could not try. They were probably put into the plastic container too quickly after being cooked and it could have deformed the container. Either way, I took a sharp turn, the wings fell out and the container opened (they should not have been packed on the top of the to go bag anyways, heaviest always at the bottom!)with the contents emptying all over my passenger side floor. The Thai salad for the woman, was filled with nasty tomatoes probably from the night before , and rusted lettuce, she wouldn't eat it- I took a picture on my other phone and will try to get it uploaded at some point. So essentially I paid 50$ plus tip for some undercooked Brussels sprouts, was not too happy about it. Made the mistake of going around six on a Saturday night, way too busy to get attentive service and had a bit of a wait for a table. I ordered my regular gluten free pasta with Alfredo and broccolini with the addition of grilled chicken and removal of bacon as it has recently been more like pork belly and a bit overwhelming. The waitress was obviously slammed and probably did not know when I ordered that the kitchen was out of broccolini, which really is a great addition to the dish, but did not say anything when bringing our orders and my bowl had boring old broccoli. I knew there had been some menu changes and thought perhaps they had gotten rid of the broccolini as I no longer bother to really look at the menu before placing my order but checked upon returning home and it was still written as before. Absolutely disappointed! walked in at 11:07pm when the restaurant closed at 12am. The restaurant ambiance was nice and was empty with only few customers. We were seated and given a couple of menus. We selected our meals and waited waited waited for the waitress to come by and take our orders.. unfortunately that took over 20min. I ordered a lava cake and tea. The tea arrived without any sugar, milk, etc. the lava cake was very dry and without "lava molten chocolate" inside. I also ordered fries. My friend ordered a burger but unfortunately she ordered the wrong type of meat (that's definitely on her). We waited waited waited some more ... then my fries arrived. We ate the fries. Then waited waited waited some more for the burger. When the burger arrived, my friend realized it was not the type of meat she wanted and placed a new order. The order was taken by the waitress... we waited waited waited only for the chef to come out and say that the kitchen is closed and the new burger order cannot be made. Finally got to try this place out. After shopping we got there at 5. The place was quiet. We were greeted immediately. She took us to the way corner of the restaurant. Shocked that this was the table she picked for us. Way in the back in the corner. I would've preferred something in the open so I could get a good look around. I felt isolated. We were only a party of 3. Not sure why that was her first choice for us. Anyway that what is was. Too bad she didn't tell us it was Happy hour or that they had a happy hour special. We didn't find out until we were done but whatever. I had the pickle martini. I've had this before but made with much better specialty pickles. This was made with the pickles you get on a hamburger. Didn't like it. We had the pickle chips and Philly cheese egg rolls. They were good. Two eggs rolls cut in half to make 4. My daughter got the garbage burger. Not sure why they call it a garbage burger. Certainly not overflowing with "garbage". More like a controlled small collection of lettuce tomatoe sautéed onions and a few mushrooms. Bacon too. Not enough to constitute a messy burger. My husband got the jambalaya. The veggies needed to be cooked. They were hard. Way too much rice. Dry. My husband went the first week they were opened. He went in and in about how excited he was and couldn't wait to take me. I wasn't impressed. I ordered the acorn squash soup. I did ask the waitress to make sure it was hot! It was and it was good. Everything else to me was just ok. My daughters burger was just ok. The jambalaya was more below average. My hot wings, pub typical but the blue cheese great! Too bad we sat in the corner. For example we had someone who is gluten-free, we had some general questions about the drinks and a couple of meals. Meals looked good when they arrived. After coming to this location a few months ago, I was excited to come back with my family. After sitting down it a little bit for the waiter to come over and ask us for drinks. I requested 2 kids menus before we ordered. Once the order was placed it took roughly 40-50 minutes for the appetizer to come out. I asked about our meals and was told that they would be placed once the appetizer came out. We weren't expecting a simple soup, salad, Philly cheesesteak and a kids burger to take over an hour. People literally sat down after us and their food came out before ours. The waiter did not seem to care at all. Very poor experience. We like this place and just absolutely awful. Probably won't come back to this location and stay going to our Brookfield CT location where they at least do it right. They should train your location here. read more

So I've only been here once, and I was only in the restaurant for about 5 minutes, however you BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR that I will be back! I placed an order for pickup for lunch today, the burrata and prosciutto sandwich. I walked in to pick it up, and the place was absolutely gorgeous. Very clean and the design was very cool and modern. The girl at the front desk was very sweet and went in the back to check on my order. While I was standing there, another 2 people came up to ask if I needed help. There have been times where I've gone to other places and nobody has said anything to me, so I was very impressed. My order came out, I left and went back to work to eat. Holy moly was everything delicious. The portions were huge and the prices weren't bad at all. I will absolutely be back again!! read more

This place really went downhills. I wanted to give this place one more try so I went with my mom on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated in a round booth by the bar for 20 mins and nobody came by to ask us what we wanted to drink, and out of no where the host came to us and asked us to sit somewhere else. She was nice tho. Then we were seated all the way in the back by the windows for another 10 mins. Finally this dude that lives in his dream came to us in his slow model steps and asked us what we wanted to drink, i told him we were here for 30 mins and finally somebody came, he goes oh I'm sorry ? In a rude manner so we just left. Me and my mom felt like idiots just sitting in their restaurant awkwardly for 30 mins. I used to like this restaurant a lot but i will not return ever again. The owners clearly invested a lot in this restaurant but sucks Bc they are gonna fail due to poor management. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was moderately busy but we were seated right away. We ordered the Parmesan Truffle Wings and the Margherita Pizza with cauliflower crust, with very different outcomes for both. First, the wings. They came out piping hot and had nice flavor. Crispy skin and a solid blue cheese dipping sauce that appeared to have some herbs in it. These were a big winner. The pizza...was terrible. It came out lukewarm and the entire outside of the crust was burned black. The cheese wasn't fully melted and threatened to slide right off the pizza if you weren't careful. The large slices of tomato had little flavor. Also be advised that the pizza was quite small (12" at most). At $17 this was an absolute ripoff. It should never have left the kitchen. Service was fine, but we also had a very dirty appetizer plate on the table when we sat down. We worked around it but this was poor attention to detail. read more

Newly opened. Great Ambience and awesome brews which you could also try as a flight. Menu is extensive and tons of options for a veggie. TV's at the bar are well placed and surely will be back to catch a game. Mike at the bar was friendly. Albany needed a place like this!! Please look at the photos, there was a large plastic shard in the pulled pork, I called the manager over to tell her we aren't paying for this and left mid bite. There was a lot of pork and I was hungry so I don't know if I ate other shards or what if I didn't chomp down on this piece. I pulled this out of my mouth. I don't know what step in the process got messed up but I'd hate if I didn't post anything and someone else became very injured from this. read more

First time trying this place. Had a party of 4, walked right in on a Saturday at 5pm was able to grab 4 seats right at the bar. They have a happy hour menu. The bartender was a little slow. They had about 5 bartenders on. The bar is huge. The food came out hot. One star taken off because of timing and forgotten items.Bar bites came out and then not even 3 minutes later so did our meals. The point of a bar bite was for an appetizer, but it was good. The pretzel didn't come with mustard or cheese though. The deviled eggs, pretzel, nachos and onion rings ordered. Chicken sandwich was delicious had to get with sweet potato fries of course. The pizza and half salad ordered, it was good. The BLT salad ordered, the dressing said blue cheese, the dressing that came out was balsamic and no blue cheese or blue cheese crumbles. The bartender eventually came over and we asked for the missing items and they were received after 6-7 mins of already having the food. The food is good and it's a good place for the mall, before/after a show. Will give them another chance. read more
