Went to the mall with my girlfriend and as we were leaving we noticed the flashy display on the outside. Neither of us were too hungry, but we decided to at least pop our heads in and grab something small since we were in the area. What a great decision! The atmosphere and staff both made for an overall pleasant dining experience. We were seated after a very small wait and began looking for the options. The menu is Cheesecake Factory-esque and has something for everybody. My girlfriend and I both decided on burgers (more specifically I ordered the pulled pork burger). Recently went to lunch with 9 of my family members. Loved the super huge booth that we were seated at because we all could see and talk to each other what a plus!. I ordered the ruban which I could only eat half. It was delish and came a salad. My hubby ordered baked stuffed shrimp that was yummy! The stuffing was not greasy and had big chunks of crab.had a bad experience at chowder pot with this dish. Most of the party ordered the fish and chips and they were also pleased with their orders. Recently went here and sat for close to 25 minutes without a server. We were right up front too, the hostesses stood at the host stand not even acknowledging we hadn't been served yet. The table next to us had just finished their meal and the manager came over apologizing for how long it took. We eventually got up and left. My sister & I stopped in for dinner. My sister asked the waitress if the dish she was thinking of getting had onions in it. The waitress said no. When the food arrived it had onions. We waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come back before my sister got up to find her. She then said the kitchen must have misunderstood her & took it back. When it was brought back out there were still onions in it. We asked for the manager to came over. When my sister told him what happened he just looked at us & said the waitress wouldn't really know how the food was prepared since she didn't work in the kitchen. He did take the dish off our bill but not 1 time did he apologize. Atmosphere was great, bathrooms werentbas clean as I had hoped, and the water in the sink was ice cold, not hot water.. I ordered the tower it was delicious.. and a salad with peanut dressing.. it changed.. it's not as thick and I wish I had known.. the flavor isn't there.. they need to go back to the original! Overall, a good restaurant, service was attentive and quick. Went on a Saturday night and the wait was about 20 minutes or so, they are doing a booming business as the place is big. The menu is large, as in 10-15 pages long, for us this dropped the rating from 4 to 3. Looking for a good dinner with a nice selection not trying to choose from a college course catalog. Today was my second visit at Maggie Mcfly's and it's already become my favorite place to eat. The food is always fresh and just the right temperature. The waitstaff is friendly and accommodating. I placed an online order for Maggie's in Manchester last night, went at the designated time for curbside pick up. When we get there, a man comes out, looks at the receipt and calls the name of the order, to which we respond. We received the bag, but it didn't have all of our food in it. We looked at the receipt and everything on it was correct, but written there in sharpie was "2 Bags!", and we only received one. When we call again, we have to wait 5-10 minutes before being told that the other bag was given to the car in front of us on curbside pickup, which we saw get handed to them but assumed it was part of their meal. We wait another (roughly) 20 minutes for the second bag to be remade, for the same guy to come out with the other bag of new food, without giving even an apology for what we saw him do. I understand mistakes happen, everyone is human, and the whole virus is making everything weird, but at LEAST apologize or do something extra to make up for the wait. After an annoying day, this was the icing on the cake. read more

My husband and I decided to try Maggie McFly's after shopping at the mall (Manchester, CT). We were promptly seated and given menus. The size of the menu is insane but may not have been so bad but the explanations of the sourcing of local food and info being placed in random areas made it odd and confusing trying to find items. Maybe placing all of the other information at the end of the book/menu may be more helpful to patrons to find items easier. We unrolled our napkins to find our silverware looked dirty and with very prominent water spots. My husband said his were worse and we ended up asking to exchange our silverware. The new silverware was still heavily spotted but we wiped them and are hoping for the best. The food was good but nothing spectacular for the price. A very loud restaurant and the lighting from the pull cord lamps were extremely bright. Sort of a sensory overload between the lights, noise and book sized menu. We were not impressed. read more

I had high expectations going in seeing they had an extensive menu and I liked the fact that they try to highlight local food. I also liked that they had a lot of gluten free options and a dedicated fryer. Also, while they don't take reservations you can call ahead and be given priority, we had asked for 6:00 and while we still had to wait 25 minutes, people who hadn't called ahead waited 45 or over. Also, after you arrive you can go to B&N next door and they will text you when the table is ready. So, we had a little wait but not too bad and we sat in the outdoor enclosed glass area which was nice if perhaps a little chilly because of all the windows. The menu is really extensive. For awhile I thought I had found a new go-to place for me and my family. However, the service left something to be desired. I went there with my sister and apparently over an hour is considered waaaay too long for someone to have dinner there. Our actual waiter was fine and the food was good, however, I had about four different people try to ask to take the bill up, and when I got it back I had only half filled it out because I was finishing my wine when someone who was not our waiter grabbed it and took it away, taking even my copy. They were also falling over themselves to get a box to put our food away. My sister could see the servers congregating in a group and said they were constantly darting glances towards us because they obviously wanted us to leave. This is definitely not the type of place that fills your water glass even after you have paid! I know it was a busy Saturday night but I have been in other restaurants just as busy where I was not made to feel that I was taking up valuable space. I don't think I would go back. If I had wanted fast food I would have gone to the other Mac- McDonalds- and spent far less. read more

If it were possible to give 1/10th of a star I would, I went in and I'm one of those people who will buy the most expensive dishes on the menu to test the waters of that restaurant. Never again here, I constantly tell people not to eat here, here is how it goes; I order a lobster tail, it comes out one super long wait but hot. But here is where it went south fast. I order Cole slaw as a side there was a bug I would say maybe an aphid on the garnishing leaf of lettuce in the Cole slaw, I called waiter over and ask him what is this, he says that looks like a bug. I ask him for a whole new plate or some discounted rate, he picks "new" plate. So 25 minutes into him removing my plate oh and may I also state ,the person sitting next to me walked out hearing I had a bug in my meal. He returns now and what changed was I had a leafless coleslaw, where you can tell they just plucked the leaf out since you can see the indent in the slaw and of course the tail was not re cooked it must have sat for the 25 minutes because it was cold. And I asked to be comped at this point he said I'm sorry I can not do that, please fill out a complaint card. Well I did, a month ago, I followed up with the general manager a week ago and she says I'm sorry sir we never got a card like that, are you sure you ate here. So DO NOT eat here if you get a problem they won't fix it and you will be out of money and to add a little more, cold under cooked or sitting lobster gets you sick, which it did and why I never followed up my complaint sooner. read more

Went with my mom. We both ordered the Saurbraten off the Octoberfest menu 10 minutes later the Waiter comes back to say that they are out. We both order something else off the octfest menu and 15 minutes later the waiter comes back to say that they only have kielbasa on the octfest menu. WTH! So now we have to go through the big menu to figure out what we want 15 minutes later the waiter comes back takes our order. I ordered the shepards pie which comes 20 minutes later. The pie had under cooked veggies and sand through out the entire dish. Gross! I flagged the waiter down after about 15 minutes. He was apologetic and offered me something else. I ordered French dip which to be honest I was afraid to eat after the sandy pie. I ate a little it was not very good. The Manager came over and was very apologetic and said she'd take 15 percent off my bill. I really just wanted the time they sucked out of my life back and the sandy food erased from my memory. Horrible service. The restaurant had many open tables but I was told to have a 15 min wait. As I look around I observed that they are not understaff. However, that is not my only complaint. When I was greeted by our waitress we got our drinks 20 mins later. But had to wait 50 min for our food. And when we finally got our food (chicken Alfredo) it was not hot at all. Where do I start? We showed up on a Monday at 2:00 in the afternoon, a party of three. We were quoted a 25 minute wait even though we could see many open tables and not many people waiting. Five minutes later we were seated in the freezing cold atrium overlooking the parking lot. The menu was enormous, tipping us off to the obvious - most menu items are frozen. I tried the white sangria (way too sweet) and hubby had the boozy Arnold Palmer (almost all ice). When we complained about the temp of the restaurant it was quickly addressed. I opted for soup and salad, because I knew the salad would have to be fresh...it was the pear & brie and it was very good. The clam chowder was very slimy and I ate very little. My husband ordered the chili and a salad...his was just ok. This place is kind of like Cheesecake Factory, only less sophisticated (yes, that's humor). We normally love Maggie McFly's but had an off experience today. The food was good per usual however there are flies everywhere inside! Our table as well as others seated around us spent the majority of our time swatting bugs away while we tried to eat. We purposely sat inside and not on the patio to avoid bugs but that certainly didn't work. We've never had a problem there in the past and hope that they do something to change it as quite frankly it's just nasty. read more

Went there on Saturday to meet my son for lunch. Was seated and waited for my son to arrive. My waitress informed another waitress that her section was closed and she was moving to section one. Ok.....I was then given a different server. Can I just say that service is a closed section is VERY slow, because you are forgotten about. Another service came by to clean a table I asked for a refill on my soda. She said "yup, when I am finished with this". Oh, ok, an empty table is definitely more important then me.. I was mind blown ...yeah I know I'm in a restaurant, I am not dumb. So we move ...we still haven't gotten our food and it's been 30 +10 mins . I ordered a cheese burger that showed up with NO cheese ! Our calamari was cold ! I pulled the manager over and explained the situation..still no eye contact he asked if i wanted cheese burger off the bill ? How about cheese and off the bill ? So weird .so I told him that I didn't like how I was treated (im a CSR) so I know how treat people or to sympathize with a customer who is having some trouble . This manager could care less! After walking by for as long as they have been here I finally decided to try it and have been back twice now. It is odd that there is no mall entrance (from inside the mall), but there is obviously plenty of parking. There were a few people waiting for tables when we arrived and a couple at the hostess station, but since it was only the two of us we sat ourselves at the bar. The place is comfortable, bright, airy, clean and has an open kitchen that you can watch from your seat. Even though we were at the bar, nothing was sticky, wobbly, crumby and the stools are soft with cushioned seats, backs and arm rests. They have cloth napkins and clean silverware! There were four big screen tvs across either side of the bar that were crystal clear with local and national sports. The bathroom was spotless, roomy and private but the hand dryers were weird. Yes, the menu is huge, but a lot of it is alcohol. They have like 30+ beers on tap with who know's how many bottles and cocktails. The good thing about the gigantic menu is that it has something for every taste and price range. They have a bar bite and snack menu (at the bar) that is $4, $5 or $6 including some soup choices. They have a (larger portion) app menu in the $9-12 range, lunch, entrees, pizzas, pastas, salads ranging from $6 to $9, giant salads in the teens, a kids menu, brunch and dessert (phew!). I saw the happy hour specials were great with $2 off craft beer among others. You quickly forget you are at the mall and appreciate that there is no mall entrance. There were four pleasant women working the bar so there were no issues with slow or rude service. They were attentive and answered our questions with regards to the gluten free and locally sourced farm to table options which are plentiful. The first time there we kept it simple with a "maggies burrito" and (of all things) she ordered a lamb gyro. The burrito came with a chickpea and red quinoa salad which was awesome. The burrito itself was unexceptional with too much rice but still pretty good and nothing either to write home or complain about. She said her gyro and fries were "great". The bill was $58 including a couple drinks each and 20% tip. The second time we went we did way better. Same circumstances... Walked past the line, sat at bar on a busy Saturday night at prime time. This time we ordered off the snack and app menu, add the dim sum. We had the quinoa salad again, coconut shrimp, steak skewers, pot stickers and the large dim sum plate. Everything was really, really good. We were stuffed and had a packed container to bring home. Beers, wine and everything was $65. It was a lot of food and drink for the money and the people were very friendly. We will make this a regular stop. read more

This place should be 6 stars. I love the food, specifically the giant California roll and quesadilla especially, the bar, décor, and even the bathrooms are nice. Sadly, the customer service is not to the same standard. When this place first opened up I visited often but now I have had 2 bad experiences and will not visit again. I visited earlier this week, the restaurant was slow but seating, placing an order, and receiving my food took much longer than would be expected. The waiter, who I do not know his name (short, glasses, long hair) was inattentive and looked dirty. However, there was another server, her name was Kelsey or Chelsey who was so good! When she saw we were waiting so long she offered to check on things, and when watching her with the other customers she was very impressive. She was helpful, accommodating, informative, genuine, and all around likeable. Kudos to her, wish we had her. read more
