I stopped here when I was travelling to Connecticut, and I'm glad I did. I ordered the seafood paella, and it was delicious. The serving size was really large for the price. We just returned from dinner at Maggie's. The lobster roll summer special should be removed from the menu. The hot dog bun was so pathetically empty of lobster meat, I could not believe it left the kitchen without being yanked off the plate in embarrassment. The bartender said that was a normal portion and other customers have complained about the lack of lobster. The other food items were tasty and a good value. read more

Came here on a Friday night during the heat wave when it was too hot to cook. Goodness gracious this was a mistake. Although it seems they have A/C, the ventilation in the restaurant is poor and so the entire place reeked of body odor. After sitting there feeling as if I had my nose buried under a sweaty armpit, I had all but lost my appetite. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing this trip too. My dad really enjoyed the Louisiana Chicken Pasta on a previous trip, but when he ordered it this time, it looked and tasted completely different. I guess this shift had a different chef? Whatever happened, it was disappointingly bland. My mom got a mediocre buffalo chicken sandwich, and I got the best dish out of the bunch, the Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp, which was still only alright. I liked the sauce and the toasted coconut on top, but by the end, it got a little too cloyingly sweet. It all took forever to get out due to how many people were packed into the restaurant. Our waitress however was very nice and accommodated my mom's food allergies. The overall experience was just awful though. Only giving this place Five Stars for the food and our Waiter, Mitch. He was excellent and made the experience so much better for my family and I. Provided fast service and apologized for the kitchen being behind on such a busy night. Other than that, it took quite some time to be seated and the management was no where to be seen. I work in restaurants myself and it is very important that the manager stops by the tables at least once during the meal. I'm not sure if the restaurant was too busy and they needed to help cook or run food or what, but never once saw a manager so we could tell them how awesome Mitch was as our server! read more

My problem with Maggie McFly's is they serve everything, but are not particularly good at any of it. Burgers, salads, pizzas, seafood. A great variety, but most of it tastes processed. It's not terrible, but I rarely visit because, honestly, anything you can get here will be made better someplace else. read more

I've stopped going there because every time there's something wrong. This last time I went with my family after a funeral. There were four of us. Three meals cane and the fourth was pretty late. When I asked about it the waitress said she just found out that they were out of it. Sometimes I had an alright meal but it was at someone else's expense. Maggie`s is a good alternative to eating at Ruby Tuesday`s or other similar national chains. The menus is big and carries american fare such as burgers, sandwiches, salads, some seafood, etc. Most of the staff is helpful and attentive. So I come here once in a while. But I've never went on a Saturday evening, and I'll never do That again especially if I'm Hungry. If I didn't get an appetizer I would've waited for my food 1hr and 15 mins. My appetizer came in after 35 mins and no refill on water in the whole 2 hours i was there, thank god I had a water bottle and Good thing I ordered wine. I was waiting to be texted by the host to get a table,she said the waiting time was 25 mins that was fine but she wrote down the wrong phone number. Then I placed my order at the bar because i was starving and asked if I can move once it was my turn/ she said she can't because I already ordered at the bar.... so I had to sit very uncomfortable. I felt it was too much movement and it made me feel dizzy. People that ordered to go orders sat close to us. They ALL looked upset. They waited for ever I felt bad and I don't even work there ! And I understand giving young inexperienced waiters a start is a thing they do here but last night was a disaster. My waitress looked highly stressed and sweaty. I even wanted to hop in and help. It was just very unorganized. But my food was good, I just wished I enjoyed it. This location is usually my date spot and after having a busy work week i just wanted a good time out. I can't say I won't come again because the food is great. But I won't come on a Saturday evening. And I'll make sure to eat and drink plenty of water and have no plans after. read more

Decent place, great for families with kids! The food is decent, not amazing best I ever ate food, but not offensive either. I have only been here twice. The first time, I didn't really pay attention to specifics, but I loved the food. Recently we went again, and being a table of 6 people I think we got decent service. I know it can be tedious to please 6 people. We started off with water for everyone because we were unsure on drinks. Our server, although nice, was barely around to order our drinks and food. They were also extremely busy. I love how the menu tells you where some of their food comes from locally, it is nice they are able to have great and reasonable prices. Out of all the maggi's this one is my favorite. My two daughters absolutely love this place. Their menu is a little large and overwhelming. I have tried a few different things on the menu because I don't like to do the same meal twice at any place. So it is very nice to have a large variety to choose from but I find it hard with just Akley that these meals are prepared freshly with that large a menu? I philosophy with places like this are to keep it simple and order something not complex, so no seafood and no steak. One of my daughters had the pasta with marinara sauce, which she was not very thrilled about and honestly I tasted it and was not liking it. It tasted cheap and rushed! I had a salad which was good. They didn't have the dressing I wanted though. Overall this is a middle of the road place, and the food is just OK nothing will knock your socks off and hit it out of the park. No matter what we eat there and no matter what we get even if we have drinks or not, you always end up spending at least $100 or more there. Which is a little on the high end for me. read more

Our service was good the waiter was polite. However the food was downright horrible. We shared artichoke dip which tasted like microwaved broccoli cheddar soup with some artichokes thrown in. When our entrees came we each took a couple bites and couldn't fathom eating them. My club sandwich was flavorless and soggy. My husband and I dropped in last Sunday for brunch. I had a green salad and steak skewer appetizer. The place was dusty with cobwebs on the ceiling and lights and burnt out light bulbs. The bar was busy and lively, not much other tables occupied. A friendly young server took us upstairs and we waited a long time for drinks and food. It tasted good but nothing special then I had food poisoning and was sick for 4 days. My husband had a bite of my salad and he was sick for one day. I went twice and I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again the food was ok and the waitress was a little overbearing and over exuberant.

I really wanted to love this place; from the moment you walk in the atmosphere feels very energetic. We called ahead but we still waited 20 minutes for a table, although this was a Saturday so it was understandable. I found it sorta strange that the only TV in the room we were seated in was tuned to Nickelodeon. There was probably one or two children in this room dining among other adults so I thought it was unnecessary - they're definitely family friendly, though! We ordered buffalo wings for an app but were disappointed to bite into them and taste nothing but salt. The sauce would have been fine on it's own but the wings were way over-salted. I had high hopes for my pretzel burger, which was good but not great. The fries on the side were sad. My Mom did like her french onion soup, but my Dad's jambalaya was bland and he thought the base sauce was too much like marinara rather than jambalaya spicy. Our service was really good but it was a bit of a wait for the food. At least our waiter was super cute. Probably won't be coming back though: it's a bit of a drive for us and we unanimously decided it wasn't worth it. read more

have gone to both middlebury, southbury and brookfield locations. IMHO middlebury is the best... Southbury always seems to screw up the orders and the food quality is inconsistent. Updated review: The owner contacted us promptly and was extremely professional and offered us a gift card to make up for our experience. We went back and had a much better dining experience this time, although the gift card showed a $0 balance, our server was so polite and helpful, and called HR to fix the issue. Thank you! Iwant to start off saying that my husband, my 19 month old son and I have been to this Maggie McFly's a handful of times and truly enjoy it! We make the drive from Torrington which isn't far for us, but it is with a toddler in tow. We love the food, the atmosphere and the amazing selection of choices. My son and I have to eat a gluten free diet for health reasons, and the amount of gluten free options Maggie's has is better than most! Unfortunately, we ordered the GF death by chocolate cupcake to go and ate it at home. While we were eating it, we noticed the center of the cupcake didn't seem very mousse like and it was missing the crushed Heath bar pieces as described on the menu. It was definitely a delicious cupcake, but my husband mentioned he remembered seeing another chocolate cupcake on the dessert menu. I ended up looking at the menu at home, after eating the cupcake and realized they gave us the wrong chocolate cupcake that was NOT gluten free! My sister and I went to our favorite silver shop, Petrolito & Grasso. On our way back we wanted to stop for lunch. Don and Lisa from the silver shop recommended Maggie McFlys. I am so glad we did! I am a burger person and they had a wonderful selection. I got the Baja Burger (Jack and Cheddar Cheeses, Avocado, Pico De Gallo and Chipotle Mayonnaise) and really enjoyed it. It was very large. I ended up taking half home for later. My sister went with the Pilgrim sandwich (Roasted Turkey, layered with cranberry sauce and stuffing), She said it was the best sandwich she's had in a while. Maggie McFlys has a very comfortable atmosphere and the service and food were excellent. We were amazed at the extensive menu. We cant wait to go back on our next silver shopping trip so we can go back and try more of the menu. read more

I wasn't a big fan of Maggie's until because of celiac, I had to go gluten free. They use amazing cheese rolls made locally. The grass fed burger is fantastic, thick and juicy! They also make me the street tacos using the cheese rolls, amazing! I get the Cesar salad without croutons and they have the best gfree cupcake also made local! Have it with some vanilla ice cream in the side ...once again locally made! read more
