Another stop for our family of 6 at Maggio's upon our arrival to Big Bear. We did the same last year and liked the experience. Once again, good pizza and a cold beer - exactly what we are looking for after a 2-hour drive! We came in around 1 pm and it wasn't too busy, we ordered right away and found a big table inside. The team there is friendly and efficient. It's located in the large shopping plaza along with Vons. They have Tesla superchargers in the lot now - YAY for that! Parking is plentiful, especially if you park towards the main road. The restaurant is clean and spacious. We like that they have a soda fountain machine so you can get refills as needed. Pizza was good, hot and had plenty of toppings. We didn't get the salad this time but that decent too. Their ranch is yummy, we got one side to try it with the pizza. Great place for a group.

We loved our pizzas! I got the Mediterranean and it was SO good. My friend got the build-your-own pizza. We took them to go and had a wonderful night in. They give you a decently sized cup of ranch for only $1, but we felt it was too watery. The wait was long but not too big of a deal. Overall we would eat here again.

Truly remarkable customer service -- plus they also have the best pizza in Big Bear! We ordered and drove out to pick it up. When we arrived, the place was packed, with no seating available. I believe it was because they were closing soon and couldn't seat anymore guest due to full capacity. That's when we realized they must have good pizza! We waited longer than expected, but they took care of us and apologized for the delay. The owner or manager gave us a discount for waiting past the allotted time, and we truly appreciated the gesture. Let me tell you, we all enjoyed their pizza--spot on and very cheesy. Great-tasting pizza made with high-quality ingredients, paired with extremely friendly service. The next time we're in the area, I'll be sure to stop by and dine in because they have a great vibe with fun movies playing too. Thank you again for a great pizza.

Pepperoni pizza with half of it ruined per my wife's request.

Picked up pizza memorial weekend 2026. Super friendly over the phone to order pizza for pick up. Friendly in person for pick up. Inside was clean and busy and felt like a pizza joint! We ordered a 12" pepperoni with pineapple on half for my wife (no, pineapple does not belong on pizza, but I love my wife sooooooo...). The pizza was good, but I thought it could've used more sauce. We will definitely be back.

This is one of the Top pizzas I have ever eaten! The service was friendly and efficient. The seating was plentiful! This is my go to pizza place for my pizza cravings.

The food was really good after a hike. Caesar salad dressing was very tasty and creamy. I ate half of the serving before the pizza even came out. The staff was nice and friendly. The cheese pull on the pizza was awesome! The inside of the restaurant was not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

Do they offer take out/phone orders for pick up?

Yes. And they deliver if you call.

    Do they deliver?

Yes, they deliver thru a 3rd party service. Bigbeartakeout.com

    Dogs allowed on patio?

There really wasn't much of a patio... unless there is something in the rear that I overlooked. I'm going with a no based on what I saw... but I guess not solid confirmation.

Ten minutes went by and "Van" the server had deeply apologizing and seated my party immediately. Being raised in Italy like myself, I judge Italian food very heavily, also not to mention this was our first time visiting Big Bear. Hospitality was more than perfect, felt like I was family. Food was genuinely GREAT for being in a small town in California. If it wasn't for Van(server) I promise this review would be totally different. I'm just glad to have found a place I feel comfortable and enjoy going to. Pergola will be the destination to go to if I'm ever in the Big Bear area. P.S. NOBODY goes to any restaurant, and goes "I'll have the soup." BUT....i would definitely ask for the soup at this place.

We ordered an artichoke appetizer, two entrées, a salad, and a soup. We waited roughly 40-45 minutes just for the artichoke appetizer, and it only seemed to come out after I finally walked up to the hostess to ask what was going on. At that point, I told her that if our food hadn't even been started, we were ready to leave and just pay for the Sprite because we had already been waiting so long. What made it even more frustrating was watching people who arrived after us receive their food before we did. About five minutes after I spoke to the hostess, the artichoke finally came out, followed by the salad and soup shortly afterward. We finished the soup and salad and then still had to sit there waiting even longer for our main dishes. At that point my fiancé finally said, "Let's go. This is ridiculous." The restaurant was not packed at all. It was actually pretty empty, so there really did not seem to be any reason for the food to be taking this long. I went back up front and told them we were leaving and would pay for what we had already eaten and drank. Of course, right as we were ready to leave, they were finally bringing out our entrées. By then we were done waiting. My fiancé had already walked out, and I told them no, we were leaving. It was just a very disappointing experience from beginning to end. The restaurant itself is charming, but the service completely ruined it for us. There was very little communication, no real explanation for the delays, and we should not have had to repeatedly get up and ask what was going on just to receive our food in a reasonable amount of time.

We stopped by pretty early for dinner, around 5ish, so this was just before we started seeing a bunch of people come in for dinner. We were glad we came when we did because we were able to get seated in less than five minutes. Since we were a party of six, we definitely ordered quite a bit. We got two medium pizzas, some pasta, and wings. The pizzas were super delicious! We got the Bambino's Chicken Pesto and Fito's Favorite pizzas. They came out hot and were loaded with toppings. The crust was nice and crispy, and the topping-to-crust ratio was perfect. I'd definitely say the pizzas were my favorite out of everything we ordered. The pasta was okay, not my favorite, but still enjoyable. The noodles were definitely cooked more on the well-done/soft side, whereas I personally prefer my pasta al dente. The pasta was also super saucy, and there was quite a bit of it, so you definitely get a good portion. The wings were pretty much what you'd expect from a standard wing. They were juicy and had a nice flavor on their own. Paired with the dipping sauces, though, they took on some different flavors, which I really enjoyed. I also really liked the vibe here. The walls were lined with album covers, which gave the place a really fun and homey feel. It had a cozy atmosphere that made it a nice spot to wind down and just enjoy the vibes.

Based on our experience, this restaurant is not kid-friendly at all. We felt very uncomfortable dining here as a family. The atmosphere and overall treatment did not make us feel welcome with children, and instead of being able to relax and enjoy our meal, we felt as though having young kids with us was an inconvenience. Families deserve to know this before making a reservation or spending their money here. Patty greeted us when we came in the door and said we could sit wherever we wanted. She was lovely, very attentive and helpful. Her sister owns the place. She even gave us scads of recommendations for other local places to try and things to do. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan with a side house salad while I got the scallop fettuccine dish and splurged the $3 extra to get their Caesar salad (totally worth it, made in house). Everything is made to order and each dinner came with a board of homemade bread and house made butter for the table. Folks. That bread. Was So Good. Soft and tasty and the parmesan, garlic, parsley butter melted right on it. There was something that didn't hit my palate right on my dish, so Patty offered to get me something else. I decided against that (because the scallops themselves were stellar) but I agreed to some extra Alfredo sauce to mellow out the flavors in the pasta, which worked great! When she learned it was our anniversary, Patty gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house the likes of which I have never tasted before. There were a a handful of people waiting to be seated when we arrived and the couple before us were seated at the last outdoor patio table available. The hostess told us that we could go upstairs to the bar area and sit anywhere we wanted and a server would be with us directly. So that's what we did. As a side note, the whole vibe of the restaurant was very comfortable and the building itself is pretty remarkable. Water and menus were delivered within minutes of us selecting our table, and our waitress Victoria maintained that same level of attentiveness the whole time we were there. The biggest shortcoming of so many restaurants in and around Big Bear is the bar and their specialty drinks. But this place just slam dunked on every other restaurant we've ever tried over the years - and not just for the drinks. I love a good old fashioned but until last night, every place I'd been to served their old fashioned in a glass full of ice like I was getting a soda at a fast food drive through. Not here. A proper big block ice cube made the "Maple old fashioned" (hands down) the best drink I've ever had. (I think they've got like 7 or 8 different varieties of the old fashioned and I will definitely be back to try them.) Our potato skins appetizer was on another level and that was before our entrees even arrived. My beef dip sandwich was perfect as was wifey's chicken Scaloppini. The timing of food arriving and the periodic check-ins from our waitress was flawless. We spoke briefly with the bartender, Doug (who may or may not have been one of the owners) to express how much we enjoyed our drinks and dinner. The hallmark of a well-run restaurant is that everyone who works there conducts themselves like it's their name on the sign out front. That's exactly what we got from everyone involved. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen staff deserves a Michelin star rating. The rest of the staff is equally impressive. I can't say enough about this place. Excellent drinks, excellent food and dynamite service. If you want a top-notch dining experience in Big Bear, this should be your first and only choice. From now on, it'll be mine.
