Good ice cream ok service. Small portions and it's overpriced. Need double order to get satisfied. Then on certain days it's delicious and other days no taste no flavor and walnuts taste funky. How fortunate I am to live between two of NYS best homemade ice cream establishments. This is one of the two. Whenever I come here I try a flavor featured on their large roadside sign. Great combinations. A few years ago my cousins were visiting from Australia and we stopped in. One cousin wanted to try their jalapeño flavor ice cream. He couldn't imagine what it would taste like but after a lick or two, he said his mouth was on fire. You had to see the look on his face. The off season on the east end of Long Island belongs to me. From Montauk Point as well as Orient Point, I put my flag in the sand and say HA! Tourists begone, I claim this spot as my own. Until the summer when everyone from NYC wants to come out east, clog up the roads and wait outside for Magic Fountain ice cream. Last week, I walked in and grabbed a 6 pack of vanilla & chocolate saucers. i figured, ah the saucers are frozen solid so let me get a cone for the road. I ordered my favorite, hazelnut biscotti. If you get a small cone, its really filling so don't go crazy. I also tried a thai chili ice cream flavor, it was good but I wasn't in the mood for a chili commitment. This ice cream is tremendous. I have been to all Of the NYC spots and I truly believe this little gem in the north fork has them beat. Their flavors are very creative and unique. None of them are overly sweet or over the top. On this trip I had honey cinnamon and rainbow cookie. The rainbow cookie had just enough cookie pieces to be enjoyable. The honey cinnamon had the perfect amount of cinnamon without overpowering it. My kids had and devoured the bright blue Cookie Monster with cookie bits. My husband had chocolate peanut butter chunk and enjoyed it. No pictures, we were too excited! Can't wait to be back out this way and have Magic Fountain again. read more

Once again, Magic Fountain did not disappoint! I don't know how they do it, but this is by far the best ice cream I have ever eaten in the state of New York and the entire metropolitan area! You especially have to get a milkshake here, they are the best! So far I've had Peanut Butter, Rainbow Cookie, and Banana! All are a hit!
