Called - on a Saturday afternoon - thanks to a washing machine with a blown drain hose (yes, water everywhere, including running out the laundry room door and onto our back steps!). Oscar called back within half an hour and was here within the time frame (same day) he said he'd be; even called about 15 minutes out. Service charge of $19.99? Better than the $135 I was quoted by another repair company! Anyway, quick diagnostics, a new hose, and we now have a functioning washing machine. I called late in the afternoon on a Monday, and Oscar came promptly the next morning. I had called him after calling a few other places that had $70-90 assessment fees to come to your home (which would have been fine if they could have also given me a ballpark estimate of the least to most expensive dryer issues so that I could have some vague sense of what I would be in for). Most of them say they will deduct their diagnostic fee off the cost of repair, but since they vary so much in repair prices, it doesn't do me much good unless they can offer at least a general ballpark estimate. Oscar only charges $20 to come out, so I figured it wouldn't be so bad if he came out and made an exorbitant quote, at least I'd only be out $20 and have a diagnosis. But he also offered a very fair price for parts and repair. He seems like an honest person, and I will definitely call him the next time something breaks.
