This was our first food stop when we arrived to Seattle and I'm glad it was here. Delicious food and excellent service :)

Rather happy we have an unique Indian option nearby in the lifelong hood. Let me try to breakdown a few dishes I've tried... Chicken curry - quite flavorful, spice action never toned down; I usually request less salt Chicken Fry AND Goat Fry Biryani - unique ensemble!! I like how the protein/spices are separate from rice. This way each bite is a nice surprise (zero uniformity!) . Where's the fun in overly stirred dishes. Also, the magical biryani takes me back about 25 yrs to flavors found next to Gwood library at Kabob House. In that realm biryani was available only Fri/Sat and folks lined up! Gobi Manchurian - perfect appetizer to prepare palette for incoming goodness Channa Masala with their delicate garlic naan - it's similar to having channa/butura. Have to say...the garlic naan alone brings me into the scene here too often. It has become something of a liability living nearby!!

Delicious food and great service. Everything we had was flavorful and yummy - also was a pretty good deal too. Generous portions and kind staff. I like the party streamers on the walls too haha. Nice space!!

Service was good, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was alright. I've never had dahi puri before, but this was inedible to me. The whole inside was just yogurt and was very sweet. That may just be a personal preference though since I'm not actually sure what it's supposed to be like! The chicken tikka masala was also a tad sweet for my liking, the cucumber raita helped balance it out though. The garlic naan was very good! Would I come again or recommend to someone else? No. But it's not horrible.

I really like this place because they also offer servings of just the butter or tikka masala sauce for $5, which is awesome because I somehow always run out of sauce when I have naan and rice. The curries were flavorful, meats were not dry, and the rice and naan were fluffy. Not much more I could ask for.

Such a great local spot! I had been wanting to check out this spot for a long time and we finally went. It did not disappoint! Everything we got was delicious. The service was excellent and the staff was so friendly. I would highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back.

I'm not sure what happened on my last visit as the curries were on the colder side. When you arrive parking can be a bit difficult, there is a small parking lot out front, if that's full you'll need to find street park. The restaurant itself feels warm, casual, and bustling. Queen you walk in you have the option to sit on the backyard patio or in the dining room. We opted to sit in the dining room as it just felt more intimate and the vibe we were wanting for dinner. For our appetizer, we started with the Samosas (Two crispy pastries filled with your choice of freshly mixed vegetables or delicately spiced lean ground beef) which were excellent. Next we ordered the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. The naan and samosas showed up piping hot but the chicken tikka masala & butter chicken were cold. I probably should have said something as I was disappointed but was too hungry to care at that moment. If I'm in the Seattle area I may stop by Taste of India again.

Finally! A good Indian restaurant in Seattle proper! We ordered the Curry Leaf Chicken biryani,…read moresaag paneer, samosas and garlic naan. Everything was phenomenal. There were quite a few items on the menu we weren't familiar with and the table next to us could see we were overwhelmed with the choices, so they suggested we had to order the curry leaf chicken and we wouldn't be disappointed. They were right! I love saag paneer so I get that everywhere, but this was one of my favorites, the flavor was perfection. Everything was flavorful and well spiced, with a bit of a kick even though we ordered some items mild, but everything was so delicious you had to power through the heat. Service was great. Our waiter was very patient with us and explained the different biryanis, but I'm glad the table next to us stepped in and offered a suggestion. Ambiance was also wonderful, lots of Indian families and groups of friends that evening so you know it's a good spot! Highly recommend and we will definitely be going back.

The low spice level was good for my weak palate and overall the flavors were solid. In particular, I liked the veggie curry. Service: This was where the experience felt lackluster. It took well over 10 minutes for the one server (not her fault, they're lowkey understaffed for a Sunday lunch) to make their way to our table after we were sat. Our waters were never filled once after the initial filling (why would we still be expected to tip?), and the food took longer than average to come out than I've had at other Indian establishments. Granted, the food was better than I've had at other Indian places, but the time it took for things to come out was a bit longer than we would've liked. The plates that were at our table were also definitely cleaned poorly. The restaurant is only a GOOD rating out of five on the cleanliness scale (inspection done by the health department in the state of WA) and I think that does not come without reason. My plate still had some food remnants and smudges from previous servings. Atmosphere: Pretty decent place to talk, seating was fine, bathrooms were clean. Overall no other issues with cleanliness outside of the plate.

Everything was tasty, but the murg makhni was definitely the standout for me, which was very comforting. The garlic naan was a great side to go with the curry, and the lamb tikka was solid too. Indian takeout on St. Patrick's Day, oops my bad. Most likely this takeout was cobbled together from the lunch buffet. Overall the cuisine was a decent variety and generously packaged. Each takeout box had basmati rice, peas & carrots in a tomato based sauce, bite sized samosas, with the main entrees provided were butter chicken, saag paneer, and chicken vindaloo. Reasonable to call it a takeout thali. Can't speak to ambiance because it was takeout. Service was swift and efficient, showed my TGTG order and handed a bag with two takeout containers. In, out, and go. I was glad for the thick plastic bag because it was overfilled, oozed out, and could have been a mega mess in the car heading back home. What was missing was the ka-pow flavor! Indian cuisine usually has mega flavor and palate pleasing. This did not align with my earlier visits from way back when. Perhaps I'm accustomed to fave Indian spots in the UDistrict. But when brought home, another family member,The Homie, agreed on this assessment when we later dined at home. Not bad, not great. Kind of a let down from my earlier memories of India Bistro. With the vast regional Indian spots in Seattle and across the lake in Bellevue and Redmond, I kind of expected OG India Bistro to be gold standard. Just okay, hence the three stars for this TGTG experience.
