They are excellent. I would have given 6 start if I can. When I called them about sewer backup, they told me to contact city first since they would not want to charge me something, where city can do it free for me. I contacted the city and they showed up, tried to snake with no success. City told me to contact a plummer to dig the pipes up and change them since the blockage is in my side. I called Magic Plumbing again. They showed up on time and opened it with snake putting significant effort. They charge significantly less than any other guy. read more

I called Magic Plumbing Co. because my garbage disposal has been broken for almost a year and the reason I didn't get it fixed is because I was quoted so high by several other companies, but now that side of the sink was backing up. When I called someone got to the phone right away and was very polite and was able to accommodate me for the next day. When the plumber arrived, on time, he was extremely professional and let me know what he was doing each step of the way. I only intended on having the back-up fixed, but the plumber let me know that the entire garbage disposal needed to be entirely replaced. I asked how much and the price that he quoted was 1/3 of what other companies quoted. I gave him the go ahead and he went to get a new garbage disposal and came back and installed it in great time. These guys are truly the Magical plumbers! I called them in the late morning, they were there within the hour. We had the clogged drain from hell. We rented an industrial-grade snake from A-Z rental to try to do it ourselves. Tried that, no luck. Called another plumber and they came out, ran their snake, and it broke. Then that same company came back out the following day and tried again, and no luck. Blamed it on the old galvanized pipes and said we needed a re-pipe. Ignacio's guy shows up, brings his snake around, runs it and some water with it. 45-60 minutes later the drain is flowing like a charm! Our sewer backed up this morning and we first called a Roto Rooter company, suggested by one of our contractors. Roto Rooter's bid was $695 just to clear the pipes, and $1300 to install a clean out drain - we promptly sent them on their way as the bid was way too expensive, and contacted Magic Plumbing Co for a second opinion due to great YELP reviews. Magic Plumbing Co came at $180 to clear the pipes and just $650 to install a new clean out drain. What a price difference! They also showed up within half an hour after our initial call and immediately get to work. Better yet, the people at Magic Plumbing Co were very nice and easy to work with, and finished the entire job within an afternoon. We now have a working sewer and a new clean-out drain which was painless to get installed and saved hundreds of dollars. We are very appreciative of Magic Plumbing Co's prompt and affordable work - and Ignacio's friendly and professional attitude. We highly recommend him and his team. read more

Probably the finest service business I've ever used. When you wake up on a Saturday morning and find that all of your toilets aren't flushing, you know you're in trouble. When you look in the basement and find there is sewage on the floor down there, you know you're in real trouble. But once Ignacio and Raul turned up, I knew things were going to be fine. They worked all afternoon on Saturday working to get the pipes unblocked, all day Sunday doing cleanup of the basement and making sure nothing could leak into there again, then this week have made modifications to the system, including getting permits and a city inspection for installing a new cleanout on the system to make sure if we do have another blockage, it will be much easier to fix. All of it was just handled by them. Ignacio explained everything he was going to have to do at every step, and has charged me a very fair price. I won't ever consider another plumbing service. Wow. Talk about bad customer service. I had an issue with plumbing, and I waited all day on a Saturday for them to come. They NEVER showed up. When I called and said what happened, I was waiting for you. They never even apologized. They said they left messages at some number, which they never did. Just wanted to say that I found these guys through yelp (read thru the 5 star reviews) since I am highly insecure about hiring a plumber when things go amiss. Well, my 2 kitchen drains, one of them has a garbage disposal, were both clogged. My boyfriend tried to fix the problem with draino. This did not work. So I called Magic Plumber. Their truck broke down in Napa which delayed things, but I still give them 5 stars. Here's why: They did a thorough job and they did not cost me very much. A plumber once charged me double for what they did, when he did something simple turning off a leaky water filter when my downstairs neighbor got flooded). I do need to get new pipes and a new garbage disposal. They gave a quote for that which is fairly reasonable. They are very respectful and nice too. So I too recommend them. read more

Wow, to say I'm amazed by Magic Plumbing would be an understatement. Ignacio works with a team of talented, skilled plumbers who take pride in their work -- and it shows. And they are FAST! They showed up at 8 yesterday -- Ignacio and 3 of his guys -- and started upgrading the plumbing for our house and the lower unit. Thirteen hours later (another plumber quoted us 10 days!) they were done and everything was cleaned up, with only shiny copper pipes and small holes in the drywalls left to patch in their wake. Wow. As the name suggests, it does magic to the drains that were clogged up for a while. Ignacio called ahead to tell us he was running 15 min behind. We described the situation to him and he gave us an estimate about how much it costs. It was a reasonable estimate so we didn't' bother to get another quote. He then worked on it right away. He is definitely skilful and knows what he is doing. Overall, great attitude and very professional. We had another company that primarily focuses on repiping (and had previously repiped our home) look at our smaller job (a shower valve replacement, increasing the shower head height, and also cleaning up a poor plumbing job on our toilet flange and attaching pipes, etc. from he previous owners of our house who appeared to like to cut corners). They probably gave us a really high estimate ($175/hr incl. materials) because it wasn't really a job they usually do. Since the work we needed to do actually didn't intersect with what they had done and their high cost, we went with Magic Plumbing who was referred to us by a friend who says these guys do all his plumbing work. I had a little bit of a hard time getting someone on the phone initially, but once I did I was glad I had given them a couple follow-up calls. They were able to fit us into their schedule off and on over a couple days to get the work done on time relative to our schedule which we thought may have to slip as our first planned vendor had not worked out due to the higher than anticipated bid. They know what they are doing, gave recommendations on how to do the job right to fix the mistakes of the previous owners and took the time to go pick-up some better parts that my husband had picked out for our toilet flange (he hadn't seen the other option at the store). It was clear they weren't just trying to make a buck but do a proper job. My husband had planned on doing some of the work himself but realized it might not be in the cards and I am so glad we went with Magic as they really spent a lot of time to make things right even staying late on a Friday night to get the job finished. Everything seems to be good from a visual inspection (though this is for a remodel and we haven't had a chance to use any of the systems yet as we still have to install the rest of our shower) and for how much work they did, the cost was beyond reasonable. Roto Rooter people usually would come late to my place and give estimates over 400$ for pipe cleaning, knowing how desperate people would be to sort the mess. Ignacio from Magic Plumbing Co gave 180$ quote over the phone, came with his crew on time, cleaned the pipe, and provided his expert recommendations to fix the pipe. His company replaced the whole pipe, working under pouring rain, handled all the permits, and completed all the work in a week. They have even fixed my lawn sprinklers. I had a clogged drain which turned to be in the main line beyond the toilet. I called Roto-rooter and they quoted $695 if there is no clean-out and $395 if there is plus $150 to use a camera to find issue and additional $150 for adding a clean-0ut, Wow!!! Looked on Yelp and saw Magic Plumbing, they quoted $100 with clean-out, but later when I mentioned the special on their website they charged only $79 (camera is free of charge), what a difference!!! After the first job they did for me I thought I found myself a plumber I can call upon on a regular basis. However after the last job I will never do business with them again. That job was to replace the temperature relief valve on a water heater. They gave me a price that I found reasonable. So I went to meet them at the appointed time. The person was late, that's forgivable, things happen. It turned out that there no union on the pipe so he would need to cut the pipe except he didn't have a cutter on the truck. He tried melting the solder to pull the fittings apart. Eventually he managed to mangle the connectors off and replace the valve. At this point the water heater is functional but some additional work to reconnect the overflow piping was going to be needed. He says he'll be back to finish the job. At this point I was still happy with them. I know things can go wrong. When I called to schedule the follow up they tell me there will a minimum charge of $75 for the second trip. I thought there were was a misunderstanding and asked for a call back, never heard back from them. I finished the job myself. In short, you can be lucky and they complete your job in one visit but it if requires a professional who will follow up look elsewhere. read more
