Magic Sushi is a nice addition to the University area, taking over the space where Blacow used to be. There's plenty of seating, including a sushi bar where you can watch the chefs prepare the rolls, which is a fun touch. When I visited, the restaurant was part of an Offline deal offering $15 off the dinner bill (though that promo has ended). Most rolls are priced around $12-$16. We each ordered a roll and shared, which was plenty of food for us. Both rolls were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, the lobster king roll and the spicy girl roll. Since we had a few dollars left on the deal, I added a miso soup, and my friend tried an Asian bottled soft drink. The soup was flavorful and a nice starter, but I wasn't a fan of the coconut-flavored soda. The biggest downside was the service. We had to ask for water, and refills never came. While the sushi itself is good, there are lots of great sushi spots in town, including some all-you-can-eat options. Still, Magic Sushi is close to home, and I'd go back for convenience and quality rolls.

Not a bad time, just an okay experience. I came here to grab food with a friend and I'm all down for an all you can eat sushi spot. The ambiance is chill and reminds me of a no frills type spot. The service was fast and nice, no issues there at all. The food was just okay and I'm not saying I wouldn't come back here, but I'm a huge fan of sushi so this just wasn't the normal kind of sushi I like. AYCE spots are great because you can kind of try a lot of different things and I didn't really do that on this trip. I had one roll, soup and some wontons. They were all just okay. I honestly, wouldn't have done the AYCE option this trip bc I wasn't super hungry. But they have a rule that if one person at the table does AYCE, everyone has to. And I get that because someone somewhere ruined that for us lol. But for this trip, for me, it wasn't necessary so I don't feel like what I paid for what I got was worth it. It also smelled very strongly of bleach, which yay they clean up but also it was so strong it overpowered any food smells and was just a bit too much. Again, I'm not saying I wouldn't come back here but it may not be my first choice. I'm glad I got to check it out though!!

I've been here a few times now and my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. The all you can eat sushi is what I normally come in for. The area is spacious and I love the decor, especially the lighting. The servers are always great. The all you can eat menu is the right amount, not too basic and not too overwhelming. I love that the sushi is a good portion and its presentation is neat. The quality of the sushi tastes fresh as well and you get your moneys worth.

This restaurant location has seen so different many restaurants...I'm exhausted at this point lol! My friend and I went to try this restaurant out on a Friday night. The place was packed! They had unlimited sushi for $25 and I couldn't believe it. You can order appetizers and as much sushi as you want. Surprisingly the food was ok. I wouldn't go back because I get buffet vibes but sushi lovers should definitely try. The servers were very nice and the place was pretty clean.

Came to meet some colleagues for sushi as we were all staying in the area. Pretty busy for a Tuesday evening and it's a super large space. They have a really good AYCE deal but we decided to each order an appetizer and roll. I tried their onion soup which was okay, but wish it came out hotter. Had crab rangoons which was good but more on the cream cheese filling than crab. The seaweed salad and fried shrimp appetizer was very good! Also had the sunrise roll and it was pretty good. We washed it down with a shot of sake and Sapporo draft and it was all perfect. Our server was super friendly and food came out very quickly.

Went once and will be back soon it was amazing. All you can eat to order sushi is always a hit in our book

Something to consider with Magic Sushi is that they always have a table for you. I say this because some other all you can eat sushi places are usually always packed and you'll need a reservation. Magic sushi, you can just walk into and be seated. I had gotten 2 rolls and my husband got 4. All of those rolls were delicious along with the gyoza and shrimp tempuras. We had also ordered some Coconut Lava Balls and they were SO good. They were warm and sweet and they seemed to have small coconut pieces in them making them nice and flavorful. I will say a downside to the place is that the food takes a little bit longer to receive the food. But maybe that was just my experience since me and my husband combined ordered 6 rolls. In total, our total came out to be $70 dollars since we ended up taking our leftovers.

The restaurant is very nice and clean. They have an all you can eat option or you can just order a la carte off the regular menu. Sushi tasted great and we loved everything we tried. Our server was nice and attentive. Will be back to try more rolls.

I got there at 4, service was super fast, and they accommodated the build for my roll.

Service was kinda terrible, it was hard to get a hold of our waitress. The kitchen was closing soon and she was no where to be found for us to put our last orders in. The sushi was great. I got a philadelphia roll and salmon nigiri. The hibachi chicken or veggies were not my favorite but the rice was tasty. If i return I will prob just do sushi only!

Went for all you can eat for 2nd time and this place never disappoints. Sushi was fresh, fried items came out hot and fresh as well. My waiter super friendly and knew the menu. Large space felt calm.

The hostess was at the door and greeted me right away. I was dining alone. She navigated me to the back of the restaurant and sat me at a booth big enough for 6 people. I felt like a queen. lol The decor is very modern. The area was clean and I appreciated the height of the booths because you can't see the people in the booths behind you, but it gives you a great eye view of the TVs. They have an all you can eat and a la carte options. I chose the a la carte option. I believe they charge you for uneaten sushi and will allow you to take leftovers home for the all you can eat option. I think there may be a problem with their service. My waitress was really nice, but the pacing of the visits to my table were really off. I waited quite a bit just to get asked for my drink. I never received a drink menu so I had to wait for the drink menu. I decided on my meal by the time the drink menu came. I settled on a mule and water. It came in a decent time. I picked the bento box B for my meal, because it gave me a variety of dishes. It had gyoza, salad, hibachi with shrimp, rice and California roll. The server who dropped off my food, literally slid it across the table and walked off. The bento box was tasty. I felt like I needed more so I ordered spring rolls. It took a while for them to come. I regretted ordering them because I had to wait a while for them. They were tiny. I watched other sushi orders come out for other guests and they looked very tasty. I would chance another visit here. I would definitely bring my patience and empty stomach.

Crabless Rangoon , in fact cheese less as well.

Service sucks. Waiter did not have it in part of our order. Has not come back for reorders or drink refills. Sushi is so-so. Mr Tokyo. Much better and fresher. Don't recommend at all

The restaurant is stylish, modern, and surprisingly chic , with a great location that makes it easy to add to an evening out. As first-time guests, we especially appreciated our server, who patiently walked us through the process and made sure there were no surprises. The explanation about the charge for uneaten all-you-can-eat sushi that guests want to take home was particularly helpful. Knowing the rules upfront makes all the difference and sets the right expectations from the start. The food was excellent. We worked our way through several rolls , sampled dumplings , and didn't find a miss among them. My Lycheetini was delicious, and after tasting a couple of sakes , I ended up buying a bottle to take home. Zero regrets there. Parking requires a little planning, with a paid lot nearby unless you're fortunate enough to snag a street spot right in front. Overall, I'd happily return and enjoy the entire experience all over again.

My friends really enjoy coming here on a Sunday afternoon a long weekend and chowing down. One day, I got bumped up from JV to Varsity and they allowed me to join them. The ordering style is the same as most all-you-can eat sushi places. A sheet of paper, check off what and how many of something you want, then sit back and wait. I dove straight into ordering some sushi, but my friends warmed-up with a ton of appetizers. The sushi rolls I ordered came out after about 10 minutes. The rolls looked beautiful. I was able to get 3 of the special rolls including the Rainbow roll, Dragon roll, and Charlotte roll. A couple pieces of Nigiri too and I was tapped out by the end of it. Plenty of food and it's nice to try out a plenty of different rolls. You're not getting top quality sushi. What you are getting is the freedom of entering the restaurant, and not worrying about what to order because you can simply order more. If that's what you're looking for, look no more. If you want more quality over quantity, look into other sushi places.

So his choice was here. Google directions suck they took us around the back to the parking garage for the 2nd level and since we have never been here before it took us a few minutes to figure out how to get down to the first level. When we entered there was a waiter taking an order and no one else on the floor so we had a little bit to get seated even though there were only two other parties in the restaurant. We were able to sit wherever we wanted so I sat with a view of the screen with the replay of the Brazil FIFA game on. My husband wanted the unagi don but didn't order because the price seemed high. The table next to us all ordered bowls and the serving size was huge so my husband regretted it. We order takoyaki, spicy wings, and 3 rolls Godzilla, Hadouken, and Master Roshi. The wings had amazing flavor but were not spicy. Takoyaki was flavorful and the perfect temperature. I get a lot of takoyaki that is entirely too hot and have to crack them open to cool before eating them. My husband did not enjoy the Godzilla roll he said the topping was too much and didn't add to the flavor. But enjoyed the other two. We were so impressed, we decided to order the double fried wings afterwards. The wings were good and had an interested flavor with the tamarind. After the wonderful appetizers, it was time for the entrees. I ordered the short rib yuca gnocchi and my friend the arroz con pollo. On paper the gnocchi sounded sublime, but in actuality it was lacking a lot. The entire dish lacked so much flavor, even with hot sauce, additional salt, and lime it tasted bland. I was very disappointed. The empanadas and service were a saving grace, I ordered two orders of empanadas to go for my family. However they were so expensive. I paid $14 for 3.
