Very disappointed with the quality of service received. My black blazer was ill treated and is now unwearable- was charged $8 for dry cleaning this item that costed me $120 to purchase! I also had a white beaded dress that needed dry cleaning with spot treatment and was charged $17- which would've been ok if they got the stain out instead of adding new ones. It was my first time here after moving from Los Angeles. I had 3 shirts that had metallic images & writing on them. Unfortunately one of my shirts was damaged in the dry cleaning process. One of the owners called me right away to tell me the bad news. He immediately submitted a claim to have me reimbursed for the shirt. They also did not charge me for the dry cleaning for the 2 shirts that weren't damaged. He was extremely apologetic & delivered the shirts personally himself. Always have to wait for clothes even though you got a call saying the clothes are ready. I felt I was asked too many questions.....maybe it's because of the waiting? My clothes are expensive, the tough to clean stains were still pretty much there, As well as small little scuffs/ rips on the pant legs which were not there before. It's hard to give a dry cleaner a bad review but I'm appalled at the professionalism displayed at this business. My most recent visit I had a pick up day of Wednesday. I came on Thursday and found no one in the business with the door open. I rang the bell several times for 5 minutes. I left and came back the following Monday. Same thing. No one around. Finally I came back on Tuesday thinking I would get the opportunity to express my frustration having to make the trip three times but that wasn't the case. The woman at the counter was on the phone with her boyfriend the entire time. She had to ask my name two times and couldn't find my clothes until I pointed them out because she was distracted. You'd think she would hang up and help the customer but instead she continued her conversation as if I was bothering her personal time. Sorry Magic Touch, you've lost a customer and patron. They did a great job dry cleaning my wedding dress that had spray tan and makeup on the inside of it and was all gross on the bottom (even after I let it hang in my closet for 9 months, oops) and they were thoughtful to notice that a bead was missing on it so they didn't start any cleaning until they notified me in case any more came loose during the cleaning process. This dry cleaner simply preys on the fact that there is no competition around them. I brought over $100.00 of dry cleaning/laundering to them to be done. I was rewarded with a price tag higher than they had initially quoted and damaged clothing. Completely dishonest business practices. They outsource all their work to another premises and charge way for more than what's customary for similar work. Your standard wash/presses men's shirt can cost you up to $10.00. My dress slacks came back completely discolored and droopy. On top of it all, they placed tiny bar codes on all of my clothing with an adhesive sticker that is impossible to remove! I suppose this is so that the large dry cleaning facility they outsource their work to can better arrange items. A complete disaster of an experience. Take the time to drive a few blocks away to a better dry cleaner. read more

I brought in a jacket and dress pants for dry cleaning for a last minute interview. I called Magic Touch this past Friday to make sure they can dry clean by Monday night, which they said they can. Monday comes around, no text or anything. Tuesday (today) comes around and I called them in the morning to check in. The girl that answered said it was scheduled for today and should be ready in a couple of hours. 8 hours later, I called them again, this time the guy said it's scheduled for tomorrow. Are you kidding me? Then somehow magically he found my things and they were ready a minute after we got off the phone. Then when I came to pick up, he didn't even apologize for the delay. I saw the $10 off for checking in offer and he tried to tell me it was supposed to be $10 off certain amount, but that's not what the deal said through yelp. If my interview would've been today, this place would've screwed me over, but at least it wasn't today and I was able to get my clothes back in time for it. read more

Magic Touch is WONDERFUL! The staff always greets you with big smiles, and they genuinely want to deliver excellent service. My clothes are always returned to me in perfect condition. I love the text notifications informing me of when my items are ready. Almost always they are ready before the day promised. Another nice touch is the basket of candy they have out for customers. Since the COVID shutdown happened, I forgot that I dropped off my favorite winter coat at Magic Touch on Adams Avenue in Kensington on March 5, 2020. Every now and then I would remember but promptly forget again. This weekend I finally remembered and went in to see if Magic Touch still had my coat after over a year. They did! I am so grateful that they took such great care of my coat for all this time and were patient with my tardy pick up. I asked that they charge me double, but they refused. This is such a great company. Every interaction I've had with them- Ben has been the associate I have worked with each time- has been a pleasure. Very professional, pleasant, and helpful. Great prices for laundry service with pick up and drop off at my apartment. I don't know how but my laundry seems cleaner than when I wash it myself! I bet that their washers and dryers are way nicer than the ones that I have used as a renter. When I have gone inside I've noticed that the business is well-maintained, clean, organized, and tastefully decorated. I am not one to take garmets to a dry cleaner but I had a guest spill red wine across my wedding dress at the end of June. I was devastated and had no clue if it would come out! Since I was leaving for my honeymoon right away my sister in law researched and found Magic Touch. They told her there were no guarantees they could get the stain out, which we totally understood. We got an email that my dress was ready for pick up (5 days before the claim date said we would) and when I walked in the shop it was hanging right up front.... STAIN FREE!! It looked like I was picking it up after my final fitting! Perfectly pressed, prestine and sparkly! It is such a relief! I had pep talked myself that it wasn't going to come out but it did! The lace details are still in tact and my wedding dress has been restored! I can't thank Magic Touch enough for working their magic on this special dress for me! Dropped of brand new pair of pants and new shirt for a wedding and I was told it would be ready on the day I requested. I then get a text message saying my clothes would be ready two days after the day we agreed on. I go back the same day to pick up my clothes to take it somewhere else and I speak to another person and he said to disregard the text and to come on the day we set the 1st time. That day finally came and the pants was ready to go but the shirt was not ready. The employee then called the "plant" and she was told the shirt had make up on it. Weird because I never worn it. She said she'll make some calls and call me back. I get a call back 15 minutes later and she stated that half the shirt is dirty but that they can give it to me at is or wait. I ended it picking up my pants and leaving the shirt. I shouldn't have to go back and forth. Weird that a brand new shirt I never worn could be so dirty. Time to find a new place. read more

The worst cleaners I've ever had to deal with. First I was given an estimated price when I dropped off my garments. When I went back to pick them up I was surprised by a much higher price. The lady at the time apparently didn't want to bother herself and give me an accurate price. I was given a small discount that doesn't even make out for the difference between the initial estimated price and what I would have to pay even after the discount was applied. When I took the garment out of the bag at home I was shocked to see that my black coat had brown streaks all over it with the color clearly faded away. It had a tag saying "garment was defective when received" why was this tag put once I dropped off the garments? So basically they defect my garment and then put a tag on it that says it was already defective! If I could give lowered review than one star I would've. read more
