This past weekend, we came to Magoos to try their pizza. We ordered a Large pizza (half pepperoni) and half roasted garlic & tomato. They allow half / half pizzas! :) It cost us $15.99 because they gave us a $2 discount (probably since it was happy hour time?), which is reasonable for a large pizza in town. Within 15 min of waiting, our pizza came out in a box and we took it home. Ordered a large pepperoni, medium combo and two orders of wedges, total was about $52, I thought it was kind of high but it's a pandemic and businesses are hurting so I don't mind paying a little more than I think I would have eight months ago. That said the quality was outstanding and the size of the pizzas and the SIZE OF THE WEDGES exceeded expectations. The wedges were the best we had ever had. They were a hit! Very crisp and LARGE! The pizza was AWFUL. cheapest tasting pizza ever. There is no gooey melty cheese. It's just crusted on. The cheese is just as rigid as the crust. Normally when you pull the slices out there's stringy cheese ropes between slices. Not on this pizza. It's as if the cheese was cut out of cardboard and placed on top of the pizza. This is a 4.5/5 really, but I'll give them the 5 because they're a small business and I love supporting these guys. So the pizza, wedges and buffalo wings are solid. I go with the cheese and vegetarian every time I order. I would definitely recommend the batter fried wedges. Everyone in Bakersfield knows Magoo's for their wedges. The pizza is solid. Not the New York greatest you ever ate, but great for Bakersfield. I order their pizza for all the big games we watch with friends at home. Everyone I know loves Magoo's pizza I want to say the people who answer the phone for delivery need to be better trained. Half the time they sound like I'm bothering them. But other than that, the delivery guys are always pleasant and are appreciative of the tips. They come to my door every time with a smile and friendly hello. Glad to give them a nice tip. read more

My family and I like Magoo's pizza. The pizza is good and the potato wedges are outstanding. If you like ranch they give you a large container. The reason for my reviews lack of stars is the $1.00 charge if a person uses a card to pay. I realize business's are charged by the companies/ banks when a card is used but I also know it is not $1.00. I think it is a money grab, although we are talking in cents here. It's unfortunate they feel the customers should pay extra for the convenience. read more

Place was empty when we arrived. 2 hours later, they were bustling with people. Ambiance was 3 stars. It got really loud that it was difficult to hold a conversation. Food was pretty good. Wings and wedges were what I preferred that evening. The two pizzas I tried tasted mediocre, but loaded with toppings. Maybe it was because of our choice of toppings that they tasted simply ordinary. One was a pizza filled with various veggies. Another was chicken with other toppings. Crust was decent as well. Would I come back again? Certainly, I would to give them another try. I ordered an 8 piece chicken only for delivery and I was charged 28 dollars and change so I looked online for an 8 piece chicken and it was 16.99 so what 12 dollars for tax and maybe a delivery fee doesn't make sense. Plus I gave the driver an eight dollar tip. I know it is not the drivers fault but this is ridiculous, also that eight piece chicken is supposed to come with wedges. I didn't get any wedges because I said chicken only but he did not explain that it came with wedges I thought if I ordered chicken only it would be cheaper. I can't explain it other than the saltiness of the cheese and pepperoni that just stands out from any other pizza place I've had in a while. I guess when I walked in, I was expecting the inside to look as decent as the outside. Nope. It reminded me of an old, run down bowling alley with industrial, basement carpet, old furniture and dirty tables. Service - just was not there. It was not horrible, it was just absent and one may expect more from the owner (he served us). Happy hour was on and we had a drink while we waited for our pizza to-go. 11am-6pm for Happy Hour daily. My Corona was cold and refreshing with lemon. No limes here. The salad bar we perused. Not something I would ever come here for. I hear the fried chicken is good here. The prices are OK. The place was dead late Friday afternoon. We will absolutely return here for more pizza which was quite delicious. Try the combination! Cheap lunch buffet with decent pizza. Very slow to replace items on the buffet but if you've got a little time it's worth the price. Their pizza used to be better but several years ago they changed their recipes and everything got very salty. I wish they would go back to the old recipes. We needed a new spot for Pizza after several bad Rusty's episodes. This place is bright and open, they greet you as soon as you enter the place. The pizzas are good, large quantities of toppings. Wife had a salad a couple of times, once the salad bar area was messy. Another time there was dirty tables that were not cleaned properly. Anyhow, this would be a good place for pizza and chicken, and that type of foods. There are also a good selection of beers. I do wish it was cleaner inside, but still better than Rusty's. Got a Chicken Combo pizza and large potato wedges. The pizza was delicious. Generous helping of cheese, good traditional crust, and quality toppings. The veggies were crispy and tasted fresh and the chicken was tender. Can't say I'd order the potato wedges again. They look incredible and are so different from any potato wedges I've seen anywhere else. The potato pieces were ginormous and had a crispy breading on it. I was super excited about these and wanted to love them but they were SO salty. We had to pull off some of the breading to eat them. Maybe it was just a bad batch but these were inedible. The ranch on the side was delicious though. The other reason for not giving a full set of stars was the wait. Not that safe and could do better - Reading the past comment from the reviewer, I was curious to see if the staff was still not wearing their masks. My wife and I were craving pizza and Magoo's has good reviews. I dipped in to check how safe they were being before I decide on ordering a pizza from the business. They have plexiglass barriers, but the staff wears bandanas for masks and they are constantly having to pull them back up because they are not "actually masks," just a cover over their faces. No 3-layer protection, just the one. I also saw a staff member in the back without a mask. This leads me to think the worst, which is staff in front is putting on a safety show while staff in the back is not practicing safety precautions for customers. read more

This place is very good. Love their chicken and wedges. Only thing they need a sign right in front buy register stating they charge and how much for extras like Ranch or hot sauce. When i ask the lady to make sure to put ranch and hot sauce in my to go bag. Instead of telling me they put some but if you want extra theres a charge. She charged me. So we ordered 6 pizzas and 5 orders of wedges for my sons Birthday party today...everything was yummy especially those damn wedges! why do they make them sooo good those r so dangerous Lol. they gave us a ton of ranch and plates, napkins etc. which was a nice touch since it's an all boy party and yes they are messy!!
