    Chips & Queso

Reviews weren't great so we gave it Mag's an honesty try. It might be an ok local bar but as a restaurant, I would not recommend. Service: our server was nice and seemed to be trying but execution was terrible. We ordered a quesadilla for our toddler when we ordered drinks. That was forgotten and never made it. When we ordered a pizza they asked if we wanted ranch, we said yes. When the pizza came out, they forgot the ranch...and the plates, until they came back out to refill our drinks and saw us not eating. Food & drinks: The pizza wasn't bad. Not amazing but no complaints. The queso was decent but the chips were terrible. I would've rather brought some chips from home so I could enjoyed the queso. Quesadilla? No idea because we never got it. Drinks had good prices. The beer was a good size and cold. The margarita was terrible. Instead of using lime juice, they use sweet and sour. Can't think of a worse way to ruin a marg.

    Dat Bill, Thanks Cindi!

As there are already a plethora of reviews about this spot, I'll save the introduction to this place. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have been meaning to thank this establishment for the service I received on 8/5/2022 from Cindi. The time of day that I came in, there weren't many patrons, and as such, Thing One and I were seated right away. We ordered two 10' pizzas, which were fresh and filling. Veggie Pizza- I love Americanized pizza, but who doesn't ? How many other dishes can you eat for any meal of the day?! You can top pizza with just about any ingredient you're craving and enjoy it year-round. Easily customizable, pizza can be made vegan, vegetarian, or piled with meaty options. This pizza was loaded with fresh veggies to include red onion, bell peppers, tomatoes, green and black olives, and mushrooms. The veggies on this pizza seemed to be thrown on haphazardly, and I've never had a veggie pizza like this (with both black and green olives), but it somehow worked. The kick from the red onion on the pizza balanced out the saltiness of the black olives. Mexican Martini- Ironically, the origin story of the Mexican Martini begins at an Irish bar called The Cedar Door, located in downtown ATX. So, this one should be just as good as the one served at The Cedar Door, right? Not really. Generally, a Mexican Martini should be frothy, icy, and well-balanced, which this was not. The plastic shaker served with my drink should have been an indicator that this would be a less than stellar drink. The drink itself tasted as if the mix was pre-made. The drink disappointment aside, the service provided by Cindi was prompt and friendly. This may be your place to go if you are in the mood for some bar food with popular music and TVs galore. #supportlocal

Wings are delicious, beer is great, service is outstanding. Nice place to stop to wind down after work. Nice inside with a lot of tv's. If you like sports they will have them one. One of my faves

Fabulous food, fabulous service! I can definitely understand why they are always so busy! The fried mushrooms are THE BEST!

Located next to a Randall's grocery store, It seems like an Italian restaurant but when you get in it's mainly a sports bar. There was spaghetti and a chicken fettuccini Alfredo plus fish tacos, Philly cheese steak and several varieties of burgers and a lot of appetizers on the menu. It has a full bar and wine and beer selections. My wife had the chicken park and said the chicken was good but the Alfredo sauce had no flavor at all Vic and the jar sauce from the grocery store is better. No salad and one breadstick. $10.99 The cheesesteak was good, made with prime rib for $12.99 but the little $3.00 glass of fries was not worth the price. Bill with tax and before tip = $29.20 Service was good and waitress was friendly and engaging. There was a pool table toward the back and the atmosphere was dark with a wall of TV's over the Bar and several more scattered around. Medium loud was on the overhead speakers.

Short review here. I come to maggiore's to drink and watch sports. This place is awesome. They have a huge bar, cool staff and Tv's everywhere. The food is really great too. Oh and there supposed to have a great pizza too. I can't wait to actually eat one. Great value also.

Their chicken fingers are a must have!!!! Huge and delicious. I crave/dream about them! Good salad portions to. Their burgers are big and juicy. Good deals on Sunday for drinks . Just be careful to not order premium liquor with margaritas deals, we asked for the margarita special but were then asked what tequila (so we assumed it was any tequila) our bad for not clarifying, but also tell us when you ask there is a huge up charge! Good deal on mimosas on Sunday. A few employees with masks below noses, made me feel slightly unsafe, saw managers pass them and say nothing. (Luckily they have food runners so the server didn't go near my food, i would have left otherwise) TVs near all the booths is a huge plus for football Sunday!

Great little bar! We stumbled upon this little gem. The service was great as was the food. We ended up dining two nights in a row while kids were at VBS. Night one we both got burgers that were on special, fries and tots. They are all great. The next night I went back because the wings looked good. The wings and side salad were great!

No one at front desk ever answered questions. Folks yelled for service, but manager hid in back, no kidding. For real! One old guy asked for a refund. He was very polite but had waited 25 minutes. The manager refused to refund him until the poor man threatened to call the cops. Whereupon the manager refunded him in cash! Outrageous. A few savaged customers who had earlier tried to complain took their food after 40 minutes waiting and left, dejected by the entire humiliating experience. But they kept moaning about "how hungry I am" and "how I can't wait to just get back to my apartment now." They were too beaten to even muster hope for their tawdry sack of already oily leaking, paper bag staining order. It was brutal. A lot of good people were brutalized this night, and few, if any, will ever get the recognition they so steeply deserve. After all, their only crime was waiting forever for bad food and being subject to stress tests randomly applied by a grinning, absentee manager. Gotta admit the floor show was entertaining, especially when the screaming manager told the old dude "we don't refund here" and the old guy went all John Wayne mode on his ass. Didn't take long for the manager to pop open the cash register then! LOL! I about wet myself watching that bit go down, especially when the beaten manager waived the refund cash but refused eye contact. The old man called him an "as*****!" as he left, dropping the mic. Astonishing! So, 5-stars for the amazing local dinner theater show, even if impromptu (and all the more amazing for it), but the service was below awful and the food a starchy, gooey mess. The manager was just tossing it into a wok for a minute from a frozen bag, and you could see this "prep" going on from the front while you indefinitely waited. Fun, but only if you're into really, really awful food and really don't like yourself and/or your dining companions.

Pro tip: It's not directly on Walton Way; it's on the side of the building. Wilson, one of the owners, kindly guided me to the entrance when my GPS said I had arrived, but I still couldn't see the restaurant. Please note that there is indoor and outdoor dining along with free parking. Fogonero is best known for its empanadas, arepas, and other traditional Venezuelan specialties. While all of those sounded tempting, I was craving one food specifically...plantains. I have a real weakness for sweet fried plantains, and lately they have become my ultimate "go-to" comfort food. Fogonero's plantains hit the spot. They were perfectly sweet, moist, and enjoyable to eat. The restaurant is a whole vibe. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a striking mural of the Venezuelan flag painted in vibrant colors across the wall. It's eye-catching, inviting, and instantly sets the tone for the experience. Alfred welcomed me with a warm smile and immediately recognized that I was there to pick up an order. He had everything packed and ready to go, making the process quick and seamless. His friendly, personable demeanor made a great first impression. There were no tables available, as the restaurant is quite small, so we were offered to sit at the bar. -The parmesan garlic fries came with the garlic on the side in a little container containing mostly oil and garlic crunches on the bottom. The flavor was good, but it was too oily. I wish they poured the garlic onto the fries vs having us dip it in the oil. Not sure how much these were, as the price wasn't on the menu I took snapshots of. -The margarita was on the smaller side, but my husband enjoyed it. $8 -3lbs crawfish was ehhh. It was definitely frozen so it was harder to peel and honestly, nothing special, which was disappointing. It was also kinda mushy?? which is definitely a first.. The only thing I liked was the happy style sauce. We ordered mild, but can definitely go hotter since the mild wasn't spicy at all. Portions were kinda small, tbh and so we left unsatisfied. The crawfish came out to be $41 with tax, which was kinda expensive.. esp being frozen. Thoughts: -very tiny restaurant with only 8 tables, including 1 large table for 6-7 people -you can't order 1 or 2 lbs of crawfish, the minimum is 3 lbs which I feel is a bit odd.. -kinda expensive with the 3lbs crawfish esp it being frozen cuz you can get fresh crawfish for less than what they're charging at other places Honestly, pretty disappointed with what we ordered. Guess we'll have to keep looking for other seafood boils. I saw that they had crawfish etouffee, which I am looking forward to trying next time I come. Also, come earlier if you want to get a table. **It's kinda a weird setup. Although there are tables, you actually order first at the front and then you sit. There are no table service just fyi!
