Love the fried mushrooms and fried calamari! Everything we tried has been good. Only once we ordered calamari to go and it was burnt when we got home. I'm sure if we were there they would have remade it for us. I do wish they would turn up the volume on the TV's and turn down the music. Love the philly cheesesteak. A very good friend of mine and I wanted to have a few drinks to catch up and swear off some not-so-good moments in our lives. We happened upon the place by accident, as we were looking for a chain restaurant/bar and saw this place first. We prefer to support small business, and the place was just what we needed - dark, lightly populated at the time we went, and cozy. I loved the roast beef and the potato rounds the first time, but my friend was unimpressed with the chicken quesadillas. We both continue to be impressed, however, by their amazing bartenders. We have a tendency to tell our bartenders to take creative license with drinks based upon maybe a flavor or a particular liquor, and they have yet to disappoint. My blackened chicken sandwich was AWESOME on my second trip, however, the potato rounds were a little too peppery for my liking. Meh. Not worth sending back, but I highly recommend asking for ketchup or some other dipping sauce to mute the spices. They quickly switched the TV next to our perch to watch the Olympics at our request, whilst others were watching basketball and sports shows on multiple screens. The only thing negative I could say was that despite a light crowd, we felt that we had to chase down servers both times we were there. I don't know if it because we are impatient, or if they saw that we were engaged in conversation to the extent that they felt they did not need to intrude, or if they forgot us. We were right next to the bar and in view of the serving window, so we cannot say it was because we were in a dark corner somewhere. For the most part the staff was great, though we had a server who seemed a little grumpy. To his credit, he seems to take his job and the appearance of the place very seriously. And he makes a badass apple martini when given creative license. My friend and I went back later in the day to have one last drink before parting company, and just said, "Something with Stoli, and cherry, and not too sweet." We were rewarded with a fantabulous cherry limeade with a kick. My friend and I now call this our favorite place to kick back and be ourselves, whilst seeing what the bartenders do with our requests for their take on our basic suggestions. What can I really say? Pizza, wings, beer, and sports. I really enjoy this place and the bartenders are hospitable. My issues are more with the ambience. No vegetarian dishes except salad and fries :( I ordered the spaghetti marinara because it didn't mention that it had meat in it in the menu. It shows up on the table chock full of ground beef. The waitress offered to bring me plain spaghetti with butter, so she was trying to be helpful, but it was a disappointment. We would go back here if they added a couple vegetarian options... We had tickets to see Rudolph at the HEB Center in Cedar Park today and a google search of sports bars nearby listed this restaurant as we were driving in from SA and wanted to watch the Bills game. I called one hour prior to the game and was pleasantly surprised to hear they were a Bills backer bar as we are from Buffalo and had family visiting from Buffalo. Ten minutes prior to our arrival I called to make sure they still had tables available. I spoke to Ashley and told her we were a party of 6 adults and 2 kids and while she said there wasn't enough room at the bar to fit that many people there were several tables in the dining area. I told her we were 10 minutes out and if she could hold a table. She was very friendly and said sure she would let the front know. When we arrived wearing our Bills gear we were greeted by a not so friendly girl who informed us they had no tables. Looking around I noticed large booths in the middle of the dining area that could of fit our party. One table had ONE guy sitting there with no drinks or food. When I asked why they would seat that person at such a large table she said "I can't force someone to sit in a certain spot" although it said "Please wait to be seated" so she obviously sat him there. So they lost a party of 8 and the girl could of cared less. I'm writing this review not on the food but a first impression as a Bills backer bar. We frequent the Anchor Bar in SA and the staff go above and beyond for their Bills fans! This place unfortunately does not. read more

The staff is always friendly and the beer is always cold. Not to mention great pepperoni rolls and my husband loved the Philly cheesesteak. Just wanted to comment on the owner's inability to recognize he made a mistake. It has to be kind of embarrassing on the staff's part to have to be defended relentlessly for a honest, forgivable mistake that you could have just accepted instead of ridiculing the customer for either: 1. "Going to straight to the internet" as the owner puts it, instead of calling the restaurant, which I am sure would have never been answered given this places service, or lack thereof. 2. Just saying the customer is flat out wrong. Now even if the customer is wrong, I think it goes without saying that the customer is supposed to get a impression they are right, because they may feel offended if they are called wrong. I mean, this man is in complete DENIAL anything is wrong with his restaurant. Went here for the first time on Christmas night. The food was really good, but they seemed understaffed for the full crowd and service was very slow. This pizza was some of the worst pizza ever eaten. On the pepperoni there was ONE piece of pepperoni per slice. We also got the deluxe and there were enough toppings on the whole pizza for what should have been one one slice. There was very little cheese, and the crust was stale tasting. WILL NEVER RETURN!!! Very satisfying with a nice pint, speaking of, they have a pretty good selection. Not anything special, but good nevertheless. Their pizza is where it's at though, it is super yummy. I always sit near the bar so I can watch games on their awesome T.V.s. I really love the sports bar feel and the funny signs (looks for the aggie sign)! Any-who, you wont be disappointed here, I have gotten take out before too and it is just as good. The wait staff is always attentive and if you find they aren't 1) calm down, your being impatient 2) communicate that maybe?? Sorry but no one is perfect and I have always had great service there. Very very disappointed. Mags was our local go to for good burgers and fish tacos. Don't order the fish tacos if you want fish, Fish used to be the main ingredient, now cabbages is the main ingredient. The burgers are about 1/3rd The size they used to be which would be fine if the quality of beef was still there. This is our 3rd time since the change and we won't be back for a meal. I am sure they will not miss us. A Resturaunt can make these changes when you dominate the industry in a neighborhood. read more

We enjoyed our experience and do recommend this place. Service was great, food good. Nice big portions. Full bar available and enjoyed the pool tables and other games. I had notice Maggiore's, shopping at the Randalls next door and thought it was just another sports bar that popped up. This past Monday we just happened to drive by and see the sign by the front door that said Monday Nights Kids Eat Free. We weren't sure if the place was kid friendly before that but seeing the sign by the front door we decided to give this place a chance. I had no idea that pizza was the specialty. The sign and tag line kinda leads you to be uncertain of what they serve. I was impressed. Pizza was very good and Stromboli was excellent. We also ordered the spinach dip that I want to go back for tonight. We tried the broccoli cheese soup that was a special for the day and it was pretty bad, but they took care of it and I'm not letting that turn me off of this place. My main issue is the audio for the games. Monday night football, no sound. All those TV's and no sound. I'll be back for the food and fun, but not my first choice to watch sports, sorry. read more

We absolutely LOVE this place! We looked around for awhile on who would be showing the Longhorn Game and came across this little gem. Coming from Pflugerville it was definitely worth the drive and we plan on being back over and over again in the future. Steve in the bar was incredible and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of the entire time. We aren't usually Yelpers, but could not help but get the word out about this place! Love this place. I live not to far from there. Great food. Super friendly staff that ask your name and serve you by name. They now server liquor which is a HUGE plus. Cold beer. Free wifi which is a bigger plus. I go in there about 3 times per week to have a beer and get some work done. I would recommend it to anyone. haven't had a bad meal or had bad service yet! I discovered this place a few years ago when I moved in down the street. When we first started eating here, my friend and I dubbed it the "bacon palace" because the place is super generous with the bacon (on fries, pizzas, salads, etc). My go-tos are the BYOBurger (which is delicious every time, regardless of what I want on it or how I want it cooked) and the Wasabi Honey Mustard wings. I hesitate to type this because I don't want them running out of the sauce, but every other wing pales in comparison to this one. I give 4 stars for the restaurant, food and service with the 5th star being achieved by the owner who is very hands-on both in the restaurant and online. I think it is incredibly commendable (and hilarious at times) to see an owner engage people the way he does on Yelp. Gratitude for positive reviews, apologies and a request for a 2nd chance for negative reviews and calling out those reviews which are obviously and somewhat maliciously embellished toward the negative. As far as in the restaurant itself, I've personally seen him in the kitchen on the grill, fryer or oven as needed and I've had a (probably longer than necessary) discussion with him regarding the decision to discontinue the house chips that used to come with the Philly Cheesesteak (which i still maintain is one of the BEST in town). I still do not like paying extra for my tots, but continue to fork it over because this place is a little gem to those of us CP residents in-the-know. In addition to the Philly, I've had the wings, pizza, salads, fried mushrooms and several other items that were all tasty dishes that hit the spot well enough for me to continue to frequent this joint and recommend it to others. I'll continue to come here not because they don't make mistakes occasionally, but because of how they handle themselves when they do. If you've had a bad experience here, I'd encourage you to voice your opinion to the owner and I'll bet my bottom dollar he'll do what he can to make it right. Thought I would write an updated review since it has been awhile since I reviewed, and have been here alot the last few months. Still love going on tuesdays for their Burger and Fries special. You can get a 23oz beer to wash it all down for 3 bucks (domestic), but the premium (Leinenkugel, etc..) is only about 4. The burger, while still not quite as good as the very first time I had it, is pretty good, especially given the price. Jill, the bartender, is very nice, and she provides great service. Me and my girlfriend are here most tuesday's, and she remembers our orders exactly every time. We always sit at the bar and have a good time (service just tends to be faster when you sit at a bar anywhere..)! Still haven't tried to pizza (1. cause it is a bit pricey and 2. cause I like getting the burger special), but i am building up to it.. I personally like the wings alot, I think they are delicious. They have REALLY good blue cheese dressing with huge chuncks of blue cheese in it, always a winner in my book. Not sure how people get such bad service here? If your in doubt, grab a seat at the bar. All the times I have been here, I have never had bad service sitting at the bar. Let's face it, you're not coming here for filet mingon, your coming here for an affordable dining experience with cheap drinks/beer .. I wouldn't hold this place to the standards of a high-end restaurant. For what the place is, it's good! read more

I've lived in the area for a while and never knew this place existed until about 5-6 months ago. Once we discovered, we've been back quite a bit. It's close by and the food is good. I almost always get the wedge salad and a spinach/artichoke pizza. I am a pizza snob but I know what to expect in Austin and I think Mag's pizza is great. I've also had the bleu cheese tots which are also yummy. I'm not sure if they make their own bleu cheese but I love it. We've only sat in the bar area but the atmosphere is great and people are friendly. read more
