There is nothing not awesome about the food here! Whatever you get, order it Thali Style with garlic naan. I got paneer tikka masala and it was SOOOO GOOOOD! We were so full and practically rolled our big bellies outta there! Went back and as expected, were far from disappointed! I clearly tend to eat the same dish, but got chicken tikka masala this time and my s/o got saag paneer. Garlic naan, of course! Also got their homemade ice cream...sweetened condensed milk, cardamom, and cashews. It was soooo yum! We also rolled out with full bellies which you should just expect. So wear stretchy pants! I love Indian food and this place definitely does an excellent job! I tried Ravi's yesterday for lunch and absolutely loved the food. One of my work buddies thought it would be nice to buy lunch for everyone on the floor and so ordered a feast of food for 12+ people to enjoy. When he came to pick up the food, the restaurant packed his order very neatly and tightly packed in tin foil platters/ trays. They also tightly wrapped each tray in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. But enough of that, this is what I had: Garlic Naan Bread- This was honestly the BEST garlic naan bread I have ever had. I have had garlic naan bread at other Indian restaurants before, but the garlic flavor was very subtle and light (kind of like eating plain naan bread). This naan bread had a prominent garlic taste that just tasted so delicious with the chicken dishes (and also tasted just perfectly all by itself too). Chicken Curry- Loved the curry flavor and the tender pieces of chicken. The sauce was delicious with rice. I really couldn't get enough of this chicken curry. Tandoori Chicken- Loved this chicken dish as well. The chicken was tender and had an excellent light flavor. Wasn't greasy or oily at all, unlike a few other Indian restaurants that I have had tandoori chicken at before. This place isn't cheap (so appreciative of my work buddy for buying lunch for everyone again), but generally Indian food really isn't. But the quality and taste of the food was excellent. We tried the Veggie and Meat Samosas these are similar to empanadas, they are packed with flavor. One order is enough for four people this appetizer was under $5. We also had Chile Pakoras deep fried Chile's which are pretty spicy, perfect if you like some heat. I ordered Indian tea which is a creamy black tea similar to chai tea and it was by far the best tea I've had in a while. The main entrees we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala mild and Spicy both delicious curries. We ordered dosas which are like meat crepes, this was my favorite thing I tried here not all Indian food restaurants offer this dish. The Garlic Naan was baked to perfection no burnt after taste like some Naan I've had. The homemade authentic recipes here are what sets Ravi's apart from other Indian food restaurants, I will definitely be back!! read more

We were on our way to San Diego from Vegas and were craving some South Indian food so decided to give this place a try going by reviews here. The place is absolutely terrible right from service to the food. The highly rated Mysore masala dosa had a funny tasting orange chutney inside it which made it inedible. The coconut chutney is watery and tasteless and the Sambar was like the worst Sambar I have tasted. I am not sure how does this place have such good reviews , i had an upset stomach after eating here. read more

If you can't decide what you want ask the waitress or waiter, they recommend vegetable Pakora and it didn't disappoint! Seriously cannot recommend this place enough. 3.5 stars for food We had take out for the team a few days ago and my colleague picked it up. The food here is pretty good. They have the Thali vs A La Carte. I love indian food and I wanted leftovers so I paid the extra $2-3 for the Thali. I ordered the lamb vindaloo (spicy) and it came with rice, 2 types of soup, a yogurt, and a dessert. Lots of little styrofoam cups. The vindaloo was good, the rice was expired (I know leftover rice when I taste it!) and the soups were good. I rid the yogurt and indian dessert because they just weren't my thing so I can't comment on those. Other folks who ordered it seem to enjoy it. The price was more expensive than I would like for Indian food. I know indian food for lunch is cheap, but I suppose you can up the price a few bucks for dinner and still serve the same amount. I think that's totally unfair but I suppose that's how you make the money in this bad economy. read more

She also receives you, with great Attitude and dressed in her traditional clothing, and makes you feel at home. I haven't had Indian food this good since I visited curry mile in Manchester, England. That's saying something! I first tried this place 41 weeks pregnant. I started having contractions and I didn't want to leave until I finished my food because it was so damn delicious & authentic! Having been coming here for my entire life, I have to say that this is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant. It is a bummer that they changed their name recently! The parking lot is small, but there's always spaces available. The ambiance within the restaurant is intimate and a little above casual. It's rarely loud or rowdy. I give up meat for lent every year and love coming here since there are plenty of vegetarian options! My favorite meatless option is the paneer tikka masala! Despite having some of the best Indian food in SoCal, I'm disappointed with the service. I took my dad and step mom here last night and waited over 20 minutes to order. Once we ordered food was a little slow, but nothing terrible. The Chicken Tikka Masala was more Americanized this visit and the chicken was dry like the chicken breast wasn't marinated long enough. Aloo paratha was tasty, but too much potato to the point where it fell apart. They REALLY need to invest in a charcoal filter for their water. SB County has disgusting tasting water.
