    Beef platter

Beef platter. Comes with rice, fries and eggplants! These guys are fast and efficient. This is a top notch halal cart. In my opionion it's better than the ones in the city.

Came here because of reddit rec. We came back twice, got the chicken shawarma flatter first, and chicken rice flatter second. The meat was seasoned well albeit a bit dry for my liking. As a texture person, I loved the fries and eggplant included. Also tried their kebab and falafel. See ratings below: - chicken shawarma platter with brown rice: 7.5/10, well seasoned, a bit dry - chicken rice platter with brown rice: 6.5/10, chicken was a little dry and salty for me, though my husband loved it - beef kebab: 6.5/10, well seasoned but meat was a bit dry and tough - falafel: 9/10, had this fresh and it was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, honestly I'd come back just for this.

I think this may be the most overrated mixed platter in New York. The chicken was oddly sweet, and the lamb tastes pretty ordinary to what you'd find. The freshness of the onions, tomato, lettuce saved it for me. The roast eggplant did blow me away though. With the tahini and hot sauce the eggplant on its own is a 5/5 and really saved this from a sub 3 star review.

The chicken was dry and there was light sauce. That would've been okay if the chicken and gyro wasn't dry. The rice was bland, and the gyro was typical of other halal carts. However, the chicken was seasoned well. The service was quick and the portions were standard. The fries were soft and could use more salt. BBQ sauce is available, which I liked to pair with the white and red sauces. Overall, I wouldn't return as there are better halal spots in Astoria.

Solid Halal food truck experience Excellent falafel sandwich Be sure to ask for extra white sauce as part of the sandwich gets a bit dry. Fried eggplant is a great touch French fries on the sandwich not so much I will go back and customize my sandwich $5 a sandwich is a bargain Service is friendly and quick Check them out when you are in the area.

The addition of eggplant is genius wow I loved everything in this plate. There's rice, fries, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, eggplant, chicken, and lamb in this mixed plate and it's all topped by the essential white and red sauces. All the flavors melt together so well I felt like Remy the rat with his strawberry and cheese eating this.

FYI what the line looks like, 9pm on a Saturday 2023 - around 10 min wait for the food

Tasted decent, priced average $10 a platter but the portion is small. It photos well, but the plate is extremely shallow. I get inflation etc but it's getting ridiculous and when comparing other carts with this one makes me feel somewhat cheated. Don't get the sandwich, def not worth it.

    Fast. Falafel is crunchy.

And if you haven't had Birria-Landia or birria in general, well, you'll probably still like them! Casa Birria is a simple food truck with a simple menu of just a few items. I noticed they have a few meat options but assuming you eat beef, you of course have to get the birria (slow-cooked beef in a slightly spicy and indulgent broth). It comes in multiple vehicles which are all basically some configuration of tortilla, onions, cilantro, meat, and sometimes cheese depending on what you pick. The taco is the classic and the $12 taco combo is a nice deal, though as a smaller eater and cheese-lover, I personally go for a couple of mulitas. Juicy meat with a bit of heat, melty cheese, and legit corn tortillas soaked in that delicious broth, what's not to love? The truck is open pretty late, has fast straightforward service, and like any truck does not have seating so you have to either eat on the sidewalk or have a place in mind to bring it; there is a park a few blocks up. Definitely cheaper than most meals in this part of the city and I'd be a regular if I lived close by!

The price is right, he's efficient, clean and there's plenty of room for social distancing while you wait for your food. The trouble is when I went today it was a different guy. I said give me extra beans because I didn't want meat and leave off tomatoes because I'm allergic. Well in addition I didn't find any grated cheese, it's like a cheese powder on it, and he said he puts guacamole on top but he didn't. The good news I'm full and it was cheap and fast. I don't plan to return though. It's a cute cart but not that cute! It's not good when you get to the location where you plan to eat and find your food isn't up to par.
