Ever since I was introduced to this place I haven't left. The staff are so professional and thoughtful. I usually go to whoever is available and have never had issues with the nail techs who have done my nails and pedi. Ok, I was really hoping this time would be better. And it almost was! I finally got the design I wanted and I do like it very much, but two things are causing me to lower my review. 1. My partner and I booked Olivia and Evelyn because of their excellent reviews on Vagaro. But upon arrival, my partner was directed to Olivia and I was seated with Sylvia without any acknowledgement of the change. 2. More importantly, I've been working hard to grow out my nails and wanted to make sure I kept a good amount of length. But on her initial pass with the drill, Sylvia took so much length off of my thumbnail that it had to be filed below my fingertip. I asked for a round shape but because she took so much length off, I ended up with rounded squares. I'm really upset about the length. I will say my partner's nails look great, and if I decide to return (which is a big "if") I'll be sure to book with Olivia (and hopefully get who I booked with). read more

I love Lumi Nail Studio so much! All the nail techs here are extremely talented and can freehand any design. They all take their time prepping my nail beds and cuticles that there are never any hang nails or ripped skin around my nails as the weeks go by. Vivian is the best! I got my nails done yesterday and they came out so so good, she has great attention to detail and took time to do my nails. I showed her a picture of how I wanted to do my nails and she made sure to ask how I wanted each nail to look. I've passed by Lumi Nails so many times and had no idea it was even there! I finally stopped in and booked with Tina. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she absolutely nailed it. She was also super clear about pricing before we started, which I really appreciated. I hate being surprised at the end of an appointment. The only downside is the parking. There are only three spots in the back, and whatever you do DO NOT park near the massage spots. The woman from the massage place will come outside and yell at you (if you're just near her space. First time at Lumi! Ambiance: -it was my first time seeing a set up like this where all the technicians were in a row and all of us were side by side each other! But it was comfy, there are TVs in front of our positions and so you can watch, talk, relax. But I didn't talk with the technician much which was a first for me Service: -i got the gel X! It was well done I'd say, it just was a little rough? I've gotten it before and it wasn't as rough so that just left me a little curious. It didn't hurt otherwise I'd have said something, but maybe she was more distracted OR meticulous but just handled my hands differently than I'm used to. I think also for the price, this is a more pricier place than I'm used to, so I think I expected it to be more smoother but perhaps it was the meticulousness that was it! Overall: -I naturally wouldn't pay this much for nails, but came with my sister who enjoys this place a lot. I would come back, but maybe just for a mani or gel mani. The design was originally for my bachelorette trip but it got such great feedback that I decided to do it for my wedding too. I just LOVE her gel application. She applies just enough so that there isn't excess spilling out, and she is super neat about it. She cleans up excess gel even if there's a little bit. She's super detail oriented and is direct about her questions. Another thing is she's transparent about what you'd be paying for. She always mentions what will be added cost before she proceeds. I've been going to Iris at Lumi for the past few months after this salon cam highly recommended by a coworker with amazing nails. First, Lumi is super easy to book an appointment - I love that it's all online and there's no jumping through hoops or waitlists etc. I've never had an issue getting an appointment with Iris when I'm looking for one. I always do a manicure with hard gel overlay and design. They last for 4+ weeks with no chips and breaks. Iris has such attention to detail when shaping and building my nails. And she kills the design every time. The shop is clean and peaceful and there is usually something Netflix playing on TV. Parking is really easy to find in the area - I usually park on Mountain and have never had a problem. Absolute horror show. "Nail technician" extremely rough and aggressive. She was attacking my cuticles (skipped a soak in water and did not use cuticle softener) with a stiff brush and a rotator tool with absolutely no regard that I am a human with nerve endings. It felt unsafe and was very painful. I should have told her to stop but I was so uncomfortable I just let it happen. She basically pretended to give me a pedicure. When she was done my nails were so dry and covered in hang nails. My toenails were the same as they were before the pedicure but with a shoddy polish job on them. They tried to bribe me at the register to leave a five star review by offering a cuticle oil sample. All five star reviews were likely bought - they refuse to put cuticle oil on even when you ask and then try to get you to leave a review. Please protect yourself and avoid this nail shop read more

I needed to get my Gel-X removed, but my usual nail salon didn't have an available time that fit my hectic schedule. While browsing Yelp, I found Lumi Nail Salon and was able to book an appointment for the next day. The salon has a small parking lot behind the building, with three spaces designated for the salon and the rest reserved for the massage parlor. My nail artist, Joan, greeted me upon arrival and led me to a back room with two nail stations. She took her time removing my Gel-X and applied hard gel over my natural nails. Now that I am looking at the complete job that was done, I can't help but feel what a not so great job the work was. The hard gel was thick and the way it was done makes my nails look wide. They are so good and it always stays for sooooo long and I've convinced multiple friends to come to Lumi if they want long lasting manicures! I'm a nail technician & don't like doing my own pedicures, so I decided to come here since there's good reviews and cute art. Amanda was doing my pedicure and the art (tortoise shell) looks great. But, she forgot to put top coat on my left foot. I got home and realized they were still tacky and dull compared to my right foot. I dabbed it with alcohol and some of the color wiped off which confirms that there was no top coat. Luckily I have gel products at home since I'm a tech and was able to put top coat on it myself. Also during the pedicure when she was scrubbing my foot with the pumice stone, she dropped it on the floor and then picked it up and continued to use it on me without getting a new one or disinfecting it. She seemed like she was in a rush. The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 star instead of 2 is because the art was nice. I'd probably still come again though since I do like the Japanese and Korean products they use, but just with a different nail technician next time. read more

I was a little bit thrown off at a few things though: - the lengths and shape of each finger were all off.
