This review is difficult to write because I gave this salon multiple chances and truly wanted to support them as a Pasadena local, but what started as disappointment over birthday nails turned into concerns about sanitation, professionalism, pricing, and customer treatment. Please consider looking at the photos of my nails an hour after they were done. I initially overlooked things because there was one employee in particular who was very kind and I kept hoping my experience would improve. Unfortunately, after several visits, I began noticing issues that became impossible to ignore. I observed sanitation and maintenance concerns that made me uncomfortable, including openings in walls with exposed plumbing, tools appearing to be reused between clients without proper visible sanitization, and a communal nail brush in the bathroom that was later used during service. This raised hygiene concerns for me personally. My birthday appointment was the turning point. I specifically requested Serena. During removal, my nails chipped significantly and I felt the service was rushed. I requested nail strengthening treatment and a simple French tip, but the final result was thick and not what I had asked for. When I politely said I was unhappy with the outcome, the response immediately became uncomfortable. Cameras were repeatedly referenced even though I was simply discussing the result of my nails and not disputing what happened. I was told that whatever I chose next "better be right" because they did not want me returning unhappy later. The repeated references to surveillance felt unnecessary and unrelated to the issue I was trying to address. There were also concerns about pricing. The posted pricing showed removal and regular polish charges, however I was charged more than expected and left confused about the final total. The polish reportedly applied "free of charge" did not feel free when the overall bill had already increased. After payment there was little acknowledgment, no effort to resolve concerns, and the interaction felt abrupt. When my husband later tried to discuss the pricing and service concerns, the conversation escalated further. Cameras were referenced again, we were directed to contact the owner, a phone number provided was unreachable, and the situation became increasingly hostile rather than solution focused. At that point it stopped being about the money and became about customer treatment. I gave this place multiple chances because there were staff members I genuinely liked and wanted to support. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. I would encourage management to focus on professionalism, sanitation transparency, customer communication, and handling feedback without escalation. For those looking in Pasadena, I would personally recommend seeking a salon with clearer pricing, stronger customer service, and a cleaner environment.

She's been doing my nails for the past five years, which basically means wherever she goes... I go. So when she started working here in Pasadena, I happily followed. This nail salon is spacious, clean, and the customer service is always top-notch. The owner, Giang, is wonderful. If I ever call and miss her, she always calls back quickly. Both she and her husband are incredibly kind, welcoming, and make you feel like a valued customer every time you walk in. All the staff here are friendly and professional. Even though I personally stick with my girl Hanna, I constantly hear great things about the other nail techs as well. Parking-wise, there are a few curb spots right in front, but if those are taken, there's plenty of parking in the plaza next to Domino's, which makes it easy. Ritz is right around the corner from me and a great place to get everything I need. Helen, the owner, is great and always working hard to please everyone. Yes, they speak in their native language but mostly it's her trying to explain a service, I never feel like they are speaking behind anyone's back. I felt very safe. They had plexiglass at every station and all around the spa pedicure stations. They checked my temperature before allowing me to enter and most of the time I was there, it was only me. The technician wore gloves and a face mask and had hand sanitizer at ever station and asked me to sanitize my hands before entering. read more

I like a neutral nail and the lady who worked on my hands gave me two coats, which I appreciate because sometimes nail techs lay it on too thick. My pedicure was perfect and if I had more time I would've paid extra for a longer massage. Her hands were magic! I took off a star because the towels they used were stained and the UV lamp had dried up nail polish on the inside. The white chairs had handprints and stains. I thought it was water until my skin started reacting and feeling painfully dry. The smell was so strong it gave me a headache, and at one point she had to cover my hands with a towel because of how overwhelming it was. Next, she used the wrong tool to remove my Gel X nails, which damaged my cuticles. On top of that, she skipped basic cuticle care altogether -- something you expect as part of any manicure service. My nails looked worse leaving than when I walked in. I called afterward to express how unsatisfied I was, and when I returned with my boyfriend, he had to point out how unacceptable the results were. Only then did they fix the damage, and they persuaded me to remove my initial Yelp review. Out of fairness, I did. However, when I came back later for an eyebrow service, the same technician openly gave me attitude -- even sucking her teeth at me -- clearly because I had complained before. That level of unprofessionalism is not okay. Overall, I would never recommend this salon. The lack of proper technique, unsafe practices, and unprofessional behavior toward paying customers is unacceptable.

I scheduled a pedicure appointment for 2:45 and confirmed the price over the phone: $90, no polish, just the basics. When I arrived, the nail technician barely acknowledged me. No greeting, no smile--just a cold energy that immediately set the tone. I was asked to wait for the previous client to finish, which I was okay with, but the vibe wasn't warm or welcoming. As I waited, I started noticing how the "minimalist aesthetic" was really just... basic. The space felt bare, not thoughtfully curated. The chairs didn't look or feel comfortable, and the technician pulled out a plastic bowl that wasn't even built into the chair--it felt super makeshift, not at all what you'd expect for a nearly $100 service. For that price, I expect more than just the service itself. A simple hello, a timely start, and a space that feels elevated go a long way. Sadly, this didn't deliver on any of that.
