We chose to eat here for lunch after my lady had a medical procedure. The restraunt was clean and we were seated promptly. The waitress came to our table and took our order. We waited for a while then one of us got up to ask for water. We waited some more. Two other parties came in after us and they were served their meal. At this point a employee walked by and my lady politely asked him to check our order. I do mot speak Vietnamese so I did not know all that was said until I got into the car and was told that the servers disrespected my lady. She was quite upset. If I had understood that they did not place our order with the Chef and they did say to her, after disrespecting her, if you don't want to eat here just leave, I would of pitched into conversation as well. Instead I was trying to calm her down. The servers were rude, dusrespectful and laughing at her because she stood up for herself in a restraunt that was supposed to be serving customers not abusing them. Other patrons that were present were rooting her on. Another table of customers had eaten and ordered something to go that had not arrived at their table either. Based on this additional fact, I would saythat the employees here have no sense of what customer service is. I came here on a Saturday and ordered a large Tai, Gan & Sach (rare beef, tendon and tripe). The broth is really clear and lacks the depth, savory flavor that pho broth should be. For a large, they give you 5 slices of rare beef, 3-4 strips of tripe and small, broken pieces of tendon. $17 for a large should come with more ingredients. That being said, I've had better at A Nu Quan but I still think if you want something that's easily accessible and hits the spot, Pho Dakao is your place! Just note that they are traditional and traditionally you don't put in sauces in your chicken pho like you would do with beef pho so if you're really into the hoisin sauce taste... Pho Dakao is the spot for pho ga kho (dry chicken pho). I love coming here for that when I want something comforting but am too lazy to cook. Also notice how I specifically said pho ga kho. I have tried their pho ga uc (the soup one) the first time I visited and it fell a bit short for me. While the broth was clean, it tasted a bit plain and the amount of chicken I was given was underwhelming. It was mostly bone, hardly any meat. I also have a preference for the thin noodles, so do note that they serve the thick noodles here. When I came back a second time, I got their pho ga kho. They also serve the soup on the side when you order this. I was much more impressed with this dish. The amount of chicken in my bowl was generous and the soup tasted much better this time. Ginger-infused, savory, and comforting. The sauce is also what brought this dish to life. It was mostly sweet, but also savory with a kick to it. The veggies added a nice crunch and the noodles were chewy. I've been here a few more times after to order the same thing. I don't think the service here is as bad as everyone is saying. They're helpful and attentive when I need them. It may be difficult to flag somebody down when they're busy and also in those cases, the only time you see your server is when you order and they bring out your food. I come for the Pho Ga Kho / Dry Chicken Pho. I've never had anything like it before and it's delicious. My mom introduced me to this dish and we always come here on the weekends. I came here planning to grab a warm meal while caring for my newborn. Before heading in, I was in my parked car tending to my baby when a security guard approached. While he was polite, he informed me that property management wanted me to move my car to a different part of the parking lot which was on the other side of the complex. He even showed me an image of my vehicle taken from their surveillance system. At that moment, I felt incredibly distressed. I was just trying to nurse and calm my baby quietly in my own car, not causing any disruption. Being told to move--especially with a crying infant--was physically and emotionally difficult. Still, I cooperated and drove to the far side of the lot, even though it would make going to any business much harder. But just minutes later, the guard returned and said management now wanted pictures of my car and was considering contacting the authorities. I had done everything asked of me, and yet the situation was escalating. I felt overwhelmed, exposed, and deeply uncomfortable, especially since I was already in a vulnerable state as a postpartum mother. The entire experience made me feel unwelcome and shaken. I ended up leaving without getting the food I came for because it no longer felt like a safe or supportive place for someone with a baby. The way the situation was handled by property management made it clear this is not a family-friendly environment. There's the choice of dark (hard pass) vs white meat, but the broth itself was just lacking and not special. Pho Dakao is no longer like how it used to be. The soup changed in terms of flavor, it used to be flavorful, the chicken thigh and small fresh eggs used to be available most of the time. Now, the menu changed, the soup tasted like instant noodle soup (artificial flavor), they always run out of chicken dark meat (knowing this is a popular item). We decided to give them a last chance ( we didn't have a good experience previously but it could be one of those hit or miss day). Before coming here, we called them ahead of time (our house was just 7 mins away, on the other side of Mile Square Park).
