Seating options indoor with a/c or outdoors with roosters. We chose the roosters. There were two wandering in the outdoor seating area minding their own business. All the diners thoroughly enjoyed the two visitors especially two children that squealed with delight. Two overhead fans kept the area relatively comfortable (in the 80's today). Service was ok. Not the most attentive but there have been many other restaurants I've visited that were way below this staff. Overall....friendly, clean, helpful. NEGATIVE (sorry): The food just fell short. Perhaps I ordered the wrong menu item. I've heard from other people (two unrelated couples) that raved about how great the food is . I ordered the duck hash. I love duck & I love hash (comes with eggs). Can't miss choice. It wasn't tasty at all. Very bland & dry. I needed a knife & fork to cut my sunny side eggs (over-done). The hash wasn't moist at all. I assume it was cooked too long. The biscuit was crumbly. NO fault of theirs but I like my biscuits soft. My wife liked her crab cake sandwich although she stated it was a tad on the bland side. We have been to Main Road Biscuit TWICE within an 7 day period!! The past 2 Sundays we have taken the drive out east and enjoyed this wonderful breakfast spot!! First of all, it's totally cute!!! Delicious brioche bread fried in the pan with eggs. It came with the most delicious hash browns. The pot were spiralized with carrot and onion. Different but extremely tasty. It also came with a side of sautéed tomatoes with onions. This dish is so rich and the brightness of that tomato on the side really complimented the meal. Every bite is thought out!! We also ordered a side of sausage gravy. Soooo delicious!! Our second visit went like this... my GF ordered the egg in the hole (because it was that good the first time!) ... Here's the drill. The line outside is to place your order. Don't be deterred. There is parking, but we parked on the street. We waited about five to ten minutes around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday in mid-October. One party is allowed in to place its order at a time. Enter when clear, order at the counter, pay, grab your coffee, and proceed to one of the two seating areas in back. The coffee is strong and very hot. They'll call your name - (we waited only about 5-10 minutes) and you pick up your food at the takeout window I ordered the savory duck hash - a good sized portion, with two quality eggs. This one did not come with a biscuit, so I ordered one on the side. La Portena had the oyster fry, three oysters, bacon, scallion, home fries and a biscuit. This was the better of our two choices by a small margin. The square biscuits themselves, large, flaky, tasty, and just a bit too heavy for true perfection. Still, they have to be in the top 5% of biscuits this far north. I doubt you will find better on Long Island. Maybe they should let the butter reach room temperature though. Hard to spread cold butter on a biscuit. I bought a new bottle of the Tango hot sauce as I did not see any open bottles about - COVID adaptation? and it was a nice addition to my dish. And at Main Road Biscuit Co. you'll get your fix of biscuits, more than you might've even expected. My girlfriend and I made this our breakfast back in September as we were heading out east for the day to finish off the summer. We entered into a tiny spot, but one with that "small town eastern LI business" feel that some readers might understand. If that confuses you, just think quaint, fresh, and original. The main reason (no pun intended) to swing by MRBC is the biscuits (of course) and that's just what we got. Now it's mostly buttermilk biscuits and these mamas are big, light, and fluffy. Though what you can then do is get them with a variety of spreads. For example, orange lemon marmalade or herb butter are two varieties and those happened to be my least and most favorite of the seasonal sample of 4 biscuits we purchased (do your thang, herb butter! Meh, marmalade). Besides the biscuit sampler, we went for the biscuit breakfast sandwich. This baby threw egg, bacon (or sausage), and cheddar on one of those giant biscuits with the choice of hash browns or grits on the side. When sticking that whole thing in your mouth you realize how inferior the McMuffin is to this thing. Oh and the hash browns (that's what we chose) were fresh and well-prepared (sorry, Golden Arches). There's several other baked and breakfast options so it creates a nice place to start off an eastern morning. Overall, MRBC is a nice place to...wait, I just said that. But really, Main Road Biscuit Co. will give you a true quality morning meal, even if things are mostly biscuits. The avocado toast with smoked salmon was calling my name, but I ended up opting for more variety of greens with the veggie burger. It was made in house and fresher than Kayne West on a bad day. The black beans, corn and quinoa was mixed up and cooked up nice and crispy, on a warm oaty bun from blue duck bakery. It fell apart as I was enjoying it, but that's pretty common for veg burgers as the tend to be a challenge to stick together. The grilled chicken on a bun was equally as tasty, with beautiful greens and herbs that truly complimented both dishes. Additionally, I absolutely loved that the chef snipped fresh dill and parsley over the dish. The fried chicken looked really....really.. tempting.. and I might need to treat myself to that on a return visit. On our way out, we grabbed one of the biscuits with the pumpkin spice butter smashed between the folds. The biscuit itself was hearty, while the butter on the inside was not overpowering. I didn't love but, but I think I would have liked better heated up, rather than cold in in the car, cruising down 25.... I had some business in Orient Point today so I arranged it for early so I could have the rest of the day to myself. The ladies running the place are fabulous, really sweet. But I don't think that's enough. The food was good, nothing to write home about. I had the French Toast Special. Raisin bread made into French toast, with a tiny bit of fruit on the side. My wife had an omelette which she didn't even finish. Yes I know she can be fussy but this time I must concur with her. On another note, the big deal here is the biscuits, but I didn't get these either. Oh yes, the chairs are those cold metal chairs. Hate them. Lastly, when you pay, you have to pick the percentage of tip you want to leave, 18%, 20%, 25%, etc. I don't like this system at all. Please let me decide the percentage, I can do the math. Hate to say it but not a good experience. We ordered Huevos Rancheros without Charizo. Of course, it came with it. Had to send back. I asked for the muffin to be toasted. In all my life, i have never seen a muffin being toasted whole. Most places cut it in half. Not here. Not only was it "toasted" whole, but i am fairly certain it wasn't toasted. it was spongy. So, my guess is they stuck it in a microwave for 10 seconds. Same story with hash browns. Fresh made hash brows are crispy. Not these. Felt like mashed potatoes. Me and my fiancé really enjoyed coming to main road biscuit for breakfast while we were staying in Jamesport for the weekend (enough to go twice in one weekend). The smoothies are really good and so were the other breakfast meals we ordered. It is a small quaint place with a new/farm feel. The decor is simple, yet nice and they even have some outdoor seating. They take a white meat chicken breast, coat it with panko and then gently frying until golden brown. Next, take a fluffy, flaky, fresh biscuit and add some honey butter. Join the two items. Let the joyful tears start streaming.. Main Road Biscuit Co! Grand opening yet we were able to score a table. The place for Saturday morning was almost at full capacity. There is no real menu, the blackboard has all of the kitchen items. There is a display with large cookies and biscuit with jam. Mmmm mm! I'm on a mission, forget Chicken & Waffles. How about a sexy, warm chicken biscuit?! My wife ordered a Kale salad but did not want it topped with chicken. There was also a pancake offering topped with local apples & pears. I wanted to really love this place but I didn't. I gave it two tries too. On our visit last week, our waitress didn't crack a smile, so didn't really feel welcome. Service was slow. Food was expensive for what it is. Granola bowl was good but small. Eggs and biscuits were ok. Buttermilk pancakes were not as good as the ones I can make at home. Their thin grandma style pancakes were very good though. Coffee was only so-so and at $4 a cup, not worth it. The Main Road Biscuit Breakfast, Main Road Bennie and the Shrimp N Grits were all all excellent choices. The home fries had a touch shredded carrots in with the potatoes and were baked which made for a healthy and delicious twist. Local eggs where fresh and cooked to perfection. This place is super cute. We went a Sunday around 2pm. There was no wait to be seated. Everything was delicious. We tried the biscuit sampler and then had the chicken avacado sandwiches. The Kale slaw was a little hot, but very good. Server was helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were a little small but cute and clean. One thing that prevented me from giving 5 stars was the flies and gnats flying around while we were eating. The doors were open which was nice, but we spent most of our meal "shooing" them away. Our first visit to the restaurant was an interesting experience. The four of us enjoyed our food and our server was pleasant. We discussed coming back again in the near future. However, when we decided to pay by cash, we had an embarrassing experience. The owner who was extremely rude, followed us to our vehicle, and flashed our $100 bill at us accusing us of paying with counterfeit money. She held the older bill up to the light and said it wasn't real. She actually admitted that she didn't even check our money in the counterfeit bill machine. We then payed her with some other money we had. We were not happy about her treatment toward us and decided to drive to Bank of America to make sure our money was real. The teller assured us that it indeed was. We went back to the restaurant to speak to the owner but she conveniently had stepped away. Perhaps in the future she needs to familiarize herself with older money and treat paying customers with respect. But, like "MV" wrote below: what happened to the Main Road Biscuit of yesterdays?" The Thursday morning manager is very nice, friendly and professional. That's where it ends. The waitstaff, however, need customer relations training and oversight. They give an air that they are unhappy, thus unfriendly and don't want to be bothered serving --wrong job position for them. Specifically, a young lady wearing a long ponytail braid, unfriendly and lacks congeniality; and assumed I didn't know Spanish. When my breakfast order was served barely warm -- the manager kindly offered a re-do -- the Latina with the braid spoke Spanish to the cooks to redo it because it wasn't warm enough, and then concluded with "pero ella se lo comió todo" which translates to "but she ate the whole thing" when, of course, I did not: the grits were warm and I did eat that, as I was very hungry after waiting 20 minutes for the meal. What she said was discourteous. In response to hearing that and having been served the hot breakfast by another waitstaff employee, I proceeded to speak Spanish thereafter with satisfaction and gratitude for the single purpose for her to hear me from a small distance. Yes, I understood everything you said, I thought. I will no longer dine here, though I have dined there several times last year and the year before. Perhaps they're under new ownership or experiencing hard times, as there are items no longer available to enjoy (e.g. fine green tea). It's no longer the Main Road Biscuit of the past. 8/31/2020 it was my turn to pick a breakfast stop for our friends 46th birthday. We came we ordered and found a seat out in the "patio". So far things were ok besides the guy taking our order not knowing what type of tea was in their Arnold Palmer. Our order was called and I went inside (oops idk we were to go to the outside window for pick up). I brought the food to the table and realized no pancakes, so this time I went to the window the guy who took our original order was nice and offered to bring the pancakes out. I never actually saw him hand the pancakes to my friend because of what happened next: The incident: As I went to head back to my seat the walkway to the patio I tripped whether it was the broken threshold my sandal I won't know but I tried to catch my balance and down I started a turned my body to avoid the corner of the planter box they have with herbs in it and landed on my left side. My friends came over the 2 ppl waiting for their food asked if I was ok as I got up and blood just started gushing from my elbow. The one lady said "OMG I thought for sure your head was going to hit the corner of the flower box how'd you know to turn? It was like in slow motion I could actually see you hitting your temple like in a movie you're really lucky" the server guy was met at the door by my friend and he handed off the pancakes and saw the situation me on the ground, my friend asked to get a First Aid Kit or some bandaids. My other friend grabbed paper towels and we tried to apply pressure to stop the bleeding (you would think an employee, manager, or ANYONE in charge would have come out to see if I was ok or if we needed help. NOPE NADDA NOONE!!! My friend who went inside came out with a roll of scotch tape? I asked "WTF is that for?" She said they don't have bandaids or a first aid kit have to tape a paper towel to your arm. (BTW the ground is also gravel) still no one came out even the server who saw me on the ground! Are you kidding COVID didn't take away compassion from people so I thought. UGH thankfully as a mom I always keep a travel first aid kit in my car. Blood on my sandals blood all through the walkway and no one still came out! Again a mom finally out without kids and celebrating my friends birthday we threw a bandage on it and then tried to salvage our breakfast/brunch. The food: Fried Green Tomatoes -yummy cold but yummy ( but 15 minutes did probably lapse due to the incident so that's a pass on the temp. The Biscuits and Gravy- HARD PASS find another recipe that highlights those biscuits-it just not a good flavor profile for them it's a very different gravy no one who's had southern sausage gravy would ever eat this and no one who ever has made sausage gravy from scratch either and it's not the biscuit it's the sausage gravy. (Garbage not worthy of leftovers or pawn off on anyone we knew) Eggs were cooked properly. Oat Pancakes with Blueberry Compote- was different but yummy 2 teaspoons of compote for the 2$ extra was skimpy and should have been on the side it would have made for a better presentation all together. They were huge and brought 1/2 home so leftover worthy. BLT with avocado on a multigrain bread- oh the potential this had it was yummy aside for the bread was cut too thick and toasted so it cut the roof of your mouth every single bite. 1/2 was leftover worthy as the bread probably would get softer later in the day or we'd remove the crust. The Teas- ugh really wish the staff was educated on this. I like ginger my friend not so much it was similar to orange spice tea but more gingery and another hot spice was added I wasn't sure star anise maybe but I was unsure and then the server guy stated no sugar/sweetener (wrong definitely a sweetener maybe agave added? 2 we brought home and cut with water made it drinkable- 1 Arnold Palmer tossed and to the deli we went for a regular unsweetened tea with lemon. Follow up: I couldn't get all the gravel out myself and had to have my nurse friend help I called the restaurant asked to speak with a manager "sorry no here, she left maybe try later" was the response I received. So I messaged through Yelp the next day see below photos. Today is a week I have yet to hear from Marissa who I left messages for at the restaurant Erika from Yelp, really did you think avoiding the conversation would have helped? No remember I wasn't going to post a review but you as a business chose to not respond from the beginning so as a local of 38 years as a Jamesport resident shame on you and by the way it is a health code violation to not have a first aid kit especially in your kitchen. Train your staff on emergency procedures and DON'T EVER HAND A CUSTOMER A ROLL OF SCOTCH TAPE to tape a paper towel to a wound. Call your manager! read more

My favorite place for breakfast on the north fork! Staff is nice, service is always great (both eat-in and take-out), and the food is top-notch! Whether I'm just picking up biscuits or sitting down for pancakes, I never leave disappointed. Most recently had a blueberry stack and fried chicken on a biscuit slathered in gravy. Very quaint brunch and lunch spot. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict for brunch. The hollandaise sauce was to die for! Staff was friendly and helpful. The biscuits were amazing (soft, buttery, & flakey). There was a resident chicken that was walking around which is fun, as long as your not afraid of it I guess.
