Went there on Saturday morning for breakfast 11:30, Only 4 tables full the rest empty . The waitress after I was standing for 5 minutes she said well is 30 minutes waiting time With attitude and rude. They need business but I guess they didn't want my we end up eating at Hubbard's on Main great food and service . I went to this place before and even with the slow service we try to go back. We have been here a few times before and have found it to be good to great so since they appear to have their act together we will give them 5 stars. What we had. Onion rings, spinach salad, chicken friend chicken with white gravy, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and macaroni and cheese. We also got a Terry Patty Melt medium rare. We also had a black tie chocolate mousse cake and iced teas. It was ALL EXCELLENT!! Patty melt cooked perfectly. I have had dinner and lunch here and find both very good! Thanks and enjoy!

I was craving chicken fried steak and i got chicken fried steak. There isn't much else to say. The steak was perfectly cooked and the batter was nice and crispy. I love mashed potatoes, so this was like heaven. When I went there wasn't a lot of people around, so I got seated pretty fast near a window. The waiters were very nice and courteous. It was a very nice traditional southern texan vibe that was going on throughout the restaurant. If you're into that and a good chicken fried steak, this is the place for you.

First time here... was a little skeptic to try it as they looked closed from the outside. They need some lamps inside to let people know they exist! Anyway, the food was phenomenal! Chicken Nathan was delicious and filled with flavor. My husband got the Brexley sandwich and it was huge! The tomato basil sauce they added was mouth watering and the French fries with rosemary and Parmesan were addicting. We both cleaned our plates.

Chicken fried steak with huge green beans outstanding but that asparagus was great best I've ever taste! Nice spot to meet up with friends!

    The Cod Sandwich

Cappy gives this cafe a thumbs up. I believe I've reviewed Main Street before but with this CoVid One Nine everything is a bit wonky. I've been to the Main Street a few times. The time before last I brought three out of towners there, all from different states, who were here on a motorcycle trip. They all were taken with the place and were not disappointed that Babe's was closed and I picked the Main Street Cafe as an alternative for the welcome to Texas lunch. This was before the virus fiasco. This time, it was my daughter and I that stopped for a bite. It was her first time. Her selection was the patty melt. She raved over the sandwich. It looked so good that I think the next time I eat at the Main Street I'll order the patty melt. I had a cod sandwich. It was on a ciabatta which I thought was too much bread - then again I order double burgers to get the right meat to bun ratio - your mileage may vary. The fish was tasty. I discarded the top half of the sandwich. I always enjoy the french fries. Today was no exception. The only thing I didn't like about our meal was the climate we were subjected to, forced on us because of this insidious virus. The staff were as pleasant as they always are, but there is something depressing when you have to order the salt and pepper as well as if you want ketchup it will come in a tiny serving cup. To end this depressing paragraph, they did everything in their power to make this a warm and welcome dining experience. If your in the mood for a casual, tasty lunch, I don't think you'll be disappointed dining at the Main Street Cafe.

The food is fresh and homemade. It is a neat little place on the downtown square in Garland.

This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!

The patties are juicy, the buns are toasted perfectly, and everything tastes fresh and made with care. You can tell they are not trying to be trendy. They are just focused on making a solid burger every single time. It is the kind of place you keep coming back to because it never disappoints. Quick, simple, and consistently good. If you care more about flavor than atmosphere, this is the spot.

You order at the counter and then wait for your food to be brought to you. The girl who took our order was very pleasant and helpful. I got the Irish nacho but I substituted onion strings for the french fries and she happily made the substitution. The burger was pretty thick and nicely char grilled. I love a good char. It was very good. My only complaint was that I like mine a little less well done cuz it might have been a little overcharred and a tad dry for my liking, but I think that could be rectified by just ordering it medium next time. The bun is toasted which I love. It comes with ranch dressing which was definitely made in-house and delicious (and I'm a ranch snob). It had lots of melted cheddar cheese and onion strings on it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband got the hatch green chili burger and he loved it tho he said his was a little overdone as well. The kids both got the classic burger which comes with two smash patties instead of the one thicker one and they said that theirs was good as well. I got the sweet potato waffle fries which were a little thinner than I'm used to but I actually preferred it that way cuz they weren't soggy and had a little crispiness to the edges. The drinks come in a plastic cup that you can take home with you which I love. So overall very good and pleasantly surprised first visit. Only complaints were that, again, the burgers were a little overcooked and I'll order medium next time and it was a little pricey... $70 for the four of us getting combos.
