I give 2 stars because the food is excellent and the employees I've dealt with have always been pleasant and professional. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because you close before your posted hours!! Not 15 or 5 mins early but 45 mins - 60 mins early. My husband and I were out running errands on a recent Saturday and missed lunch so thought we'd get a late lunch/early dinner. I looked up the hours on the website and it clearly said open until 4pm. We arrived at 3:05 and the gate was closed with a closed sign on it even though there were still patrons sitting on the patio eating. (I can understand if you've had no patrons for the last 30 mins before closing, to close a little early but there were at least 3 groups sitting on the patio still eating and it was a Saturday) and this is not the first time it's happened. I will be back because of the food but if you're not going to stay open until the hours you post, maybe you should change the hours? read more

You get three stars for being new, and having a great sandwich (minus the bread). I'm disappointed that with several yelp reviews posted already, the awful bread has yet to be corrected. Truckee sourdough Co has a nice ring to it, but the sourdough bread on the sandwich reminded me entirely of a biscuit. The bread is crucial to the sandwich, and with such good ingredients and meats, why risk it all on mediocre bread. Again, great inside of the sandwich, I just wouldn't returm for a third time for the same biscuit bread. Hope this gets addressed, it'd be a shame otherwise. read more

My mother and I came here after visiting my grandfather in the hospital. It is the closest place to eat besides the cafeteria at the hospital. We ordered the "angry Irishman" which was a pastrami sandwich with cream cheese and jalapeños. It was absolutely delicious! I didn't want just a sandwich so we also ordered a Caesar salad and split it. The dressing made the whole salad with fresh Parmesan cheese. It was really good too! The only downside (which is why they get 4 stars instead of 5) is that the seating is pretty much only outside. So make sure you bring a jacket as it was about 50 outside when we went. There are a couple of 2 seater tables inside but you don't really want to sit there as that is where the line is to order. Anyways for the food...it's super yummy! As long as you have a jacket...it's a nice view of Main Street outside. read more

Met our expectations for the comfort of a tasty grilled sandwich. Really good, but I found the sliced sourdough bread to be a bit tasteless. My husband enjoyed his Loaded Irishman. I built my own turkey, avocado, tomato and pepper jack with siracha mayo. Service is slow, parking convenient. Biggest drawback is value: San Francisco prices for relatively small sandwiches. Perhaps the bigger sandwiches are a better deal? We'll probably be back to give them another chance. read more

Waited over an hour for a sandwich. Unacceptable. This was a Sunday. It was semi busy with about 10 people waiting. The soda that came from the soda machine was completely flat. There was almost zero seating for the entire place. Avoid this place at all costs. They advertised beer on tap...they had ONE beer available which was Rolling Rock. AWFUL!!! read more

Just stopped in for sandwiches to go and didn't realize they had recently opened. Staff was very friendly and apologetic for the delay, which I didn't think they needed to be for a busy lunch hour. They could reevaluate their ordering system as it wasn't the most efficient, but they were very quick at making our order. We got veggie sandwiches and were pleasantly surprised at the fresh ingredients and the bread was SO good and soft! There is a great shaded patio out front for seating. By far one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time! This new business has been open only 18 days as of today and I can definitely say I'll be back many times. The fact that they deliver up to 3 miles is also great as I get tired of having pizza. The sandwich had the best flavor and the meat and produce were of the greatest quality. The bread was soft and extremely fresh which is a nice change from some of the other local sandwich shops. The decor inside is great and the deck outside is I like any other business in Placerville. The staff are extremely friendly and provide great service. This little deli is going to do amazing especially when they get their liquor license and start to stay open until 1 am on Fridays. read more

Just went back for a second sandwich. This place will easily become THE PLACE to get a deli sandwich. The bread is good, soft, fresh, and most importantly, of adequate size. No reduced down skinny rolls here! The meat is second to none, and again of adequate proportions. The location is good with plenty of outdoor seating. For the City of Placerville, a deli like this has been needed for quite some time! Perfect atmosphere and the owners are truly friendly! One last thing.....don't forget the pepper spread, as it is destined to become their signature spread! Deck seating was nice, although we had hoped for more chairs rather than stools. Thought a place called "melters " would have melted cheese on the pannini, instead of soft cheese. Bread was dry and not tasty. Husbands cold sandwich was okay, but small. Overall not impressed and Placerville has so many better options for lunch. read more

Passing by Placerville with my two teen sons on our way home from Tahoe and wanted something healthier than fast food. Stumbled upon this little gem. They have been opened only 19 days. The service was excellent, food was absolutely delicious, dog friendly, cute place. We got the 6" sandwiches and they were huge!! Three sandwiches with drinks for under $20. Will definitely be back! Went here for the first time today and let me just say it was AMAZING ! The quality of the bread and meat is excellent and the veggies were so fresh. There price is more than reasonable and I got so full off a 6 inch ! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere is really relaxing & if your a person like me that appreciates a clean environment this is your place, so sanitary even had hand sanitizer dispensers up on the deck (I loved that ) I will defiantly be back ! The menu had lots of interesting choices. The sandwich sizes huge, almost too big to put into the mouth. The wheat roll was tasty, tho the sourdough roll was more french roll than sourdough. The meat was good, the cheese smooth, and the deck seating right on Main street was perfect to people watch. I think that this would make a good beer garden, tho with no indoor seating, winter will be an issue. I loved the artichoke hearts that were a part of my sandwich. The service, even with 4 people behind the counter, was slow, esp for just making sandwiches. While we enjoyed our sandwiches, Amber Turkey with havarti, spinach, avocado, artichoke hearts and toms and the Classic Ham, they weren't better than the Subways sandwiches we often get. The prices were reasonable, with the larger size of these sandwiches costing just 2-3 bucks more. The only difference was the beer you could order with it and the deck that was nice to eat on. Also, we noticed that they didn't use gloves to handle the sandwich makings whether making the sandwiches or refilling the topping containers. Subway servers always do, but to be fair, restaurant food preparers in the back kitchen probably don't use gloves either, it was just something we noticed, b/c at Subways, Togos, and Safeway they do. Overall our impression was positive for food choice, interesting and unusual varieties, large sized sandwiches, inexpensive, nice outdoor seating, and taste. It is also a much nicer setting for eating with friends than Subways is, but while nice to try, it will probably not be someplace we return to for just the two of us esp with all the other choices available to us. read more

Seriously the best club sandwich I ever ate. Piled high with turkey, ham, avocado, bacon, and all the fresh lettuce and tomato. Boarshead meats! The price was great. A HUGE sandwich for 9.99 that fed two. My friend loved her mac and cheese grilled cheese as well. I felt very full and happy. read more

My girlfriend and I were on our way up to Apple Hill and thought we would stop in for a quick lunch. When we walked in there were 2 people in front of us in line, yet it took nearly 10 minutes to just place our order. We then sat for another 25 minutes at least waiting for our sandwich to arrive. This is by far the best sandwich spot in the county! We've been to many sandwich spots and this place is the most delicious! They use Boars Head Brand meats and cheese so you know you're getting good wholesome and tasty cuts! They don't skimp on size either. I wish they were open 24/7 because we Crave them at all hours, but they're not, so get in there while they are open!!! London Broil Roast Beef on Wheat bread from the Truckee Sourdough Company, is my favorite with fresh tomatoes, spinach and cucumbers, completed with a red pepper spread that is to die for. Amazing food, I mean quite literally like taking a little piece of NY and putting it in Cali. Great place to stop on the way to Lake Tahoe or San Francisco.
